Ann,nearly every team that plays the Gills win. My grandson is a Gills fanatic, but I have no idea why when they lose so often. I am just so glad I don't live within walking distance of their grounds. There is nearly always trouble when they play certain teams. You must go to Nando's when they open near you,I am sure you will enjoy it there. Ours here is always packed, and they do not do bookings on a Saturday night,so we had to wait for three tables to become available. Like you Sallie,I would love a bungalow, even a three bedroom one would be plenty for us. A bedroom each, and one for the grandchildren when they come to stay. As our family are so near to us,they don't stay over. But if the adults want to go away, then nan and grandad come in very handy, for the young ones to stay with. It would be so easy in a bungalow,to clean the windows, and for painting outside. See you all later. Love Mo xxx

Hi all, Sally, glad you enjoyed the party and hope thw Welsh cakes turn out OK, I have never made them. We have just taken the children out to lunch at the local Har*****r We all had a god bowlful of the free salad. 7 year old had children's fish and chips, I thought she'd never eat it all, three good sized pieces of fish, a good portion of chips and peas and she ate the lot!!! nearly 13 year old had an adult portion of pasta with blackened chicken and garlic bread and just left a few bit of pasta. T had fish and chips and I had scampi. I couldn't manage all the chips. The the children shared a large ice cream and \t and I shared one. a very good meal and they are a joy to take out, so polite and eat all their food. Mum and Dad are due back this evening.
Jean Coffee and cream sounds nice and with that combination you can always choose an accent colour to brighten it up and ring the changes. Terraccota would be nice for a few bits dotted around. Mo your meal sounds lovely, we have a Nandos coming to \gloucester soon, I believe there is one in Cheltenham but we have never been. Debbie, hope the football went well today, did they win? Grandson was thrilled yesterday, \granddad took him to see 'his' team - MK Dons play Gillingham and they won.

Hello All,
Debbie, the weather is lovely here, too. It's nice to hear from both you and Jean early in the day. We had an extention at the side of our house five years ago, now there is only Alun and myself. Sometimes we think it would be a good idea to get a bungalow, but what would we do with all the furniture, and of course we need the extra space when we have visitors to stay. So we will probably stay where we are. Hope the football matches go well this afternoon. Are the boys in opposite teams again?
Jean you were very, very early posting. Coffee and cream go well together. What does J think about those colours? I know he didn't fancy having red on the one wall. My brother is just like J, he'll talk to everyone and he soon has their life story. My late Dad was just the same. Yes Jean, this is a lovely thread, there are some wonderful people on here that have become very good friends, who are always here to listen and help us if we have a problem. Thank you all for that.
Alun and I enjoyed the 60th party we went to last night, everything went off well, even if the disco was just a bit too loud. But it was a nice atmosphere and very friendly people. I am now going to make some Welsh cakes, I haven't made them for years, so hope they will turn out okay. Michael my S-in-L, loves them, so for his sake hope they'll be okay.
I'll look in again later.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello my friends. Jean, the coffee and cream colour sounds nice. What colour are your cupboard doors. I believe you said cream,so that mixture of colour will go lovely together. Debbie, our Jean is nearly always an early bird,I am convinced J must be kicking her out of bed for snoring. lol I know what you mean about small kitchens though. Ours is the size of a postage stamp, and if Roly and I,are in it together we fall over it. Mind you, I don't think he knows how to use the cooker,or the oven. And the only thing he does know about,is the hob,and thats only because when I am not here,he warms himself a tin of soup. lol We don't have a milkman anymore,as he started to come so late in the day and we were always running out, especially when we wanted a cup of tea. And that is a definate no no in this house. So we would buy a four pint bottle from the supermarket, and the one we buy has a long shelf life. Enjoy the football this afternoon,I hope the boys are successful in their games. Hi Sallie, how is Micheals dad now.? What are you and Alun up to today. Are the family coming over for dinner. I know how close you all are. Hello Ann,Marie,Huia,Liz and all our friends on here. We had a lovely meal last night. We went to Nando's for a chicken meal, all healthy eating. My chicken was cooked in Mango and Lime,it was absolutely delicious, and I had corn on the cob and spicey rice with it. I was to full to have a dessert. It is nice and sunny here, but very cold outside,so I am not moving outside today. I am going to prepare the dinner now,so I will pop back later. Love and best wishes to you all. Mo xxx

Hi, Debbie I had been up about an hour... normal for me...the only reason we are having a new kitchen, my D and I are finding it difficult to reach down into the cupboards, and reaching stuff off the higher cupboards, so we deciided it would be a good time to change, J has been very good about it all.... at our age our money is not making any interest, so we may as well enjoy it... we used to have milk deliverd but got it pinched off the step we stopped it... luckily we have a shop only four doors away...nice speaking to you enjoy the rest of your weekend...

Morning All, what a glorious day we are having?
Oh, Jean, what are you like? posting on here at some unearthly hour of a Sunday morning. Coffee and Cream are nice colours which compliment each other well and are soothing to look at. We have similar in our box of a Kitchen. You are lucky, I would love a new Kitchen but mine is so small that it isn't worth renewing. My crockery is in a Dining Room Cupboard. I am lucky to have a separate Sitting Room, so all cooking preparation gets done on the Dining Room table and then into the oven in the Kitchen.
One day we would like to be able to extend backwards from our house. Both houses either side have done that so there wouldn't be a problem getting permission, just the cost that is restricting at the moment. Then we would have a huge Family Room which would be the hub of the house. That will probably be once all the children have left home:-))
Just ordered my Dairy Diary off the web site. Do you all still have your milk delivered by the Dairy? We have an independant dairy here so can't get your special offers, but I do like their diary every year. Loads of hints and tips and recipes every week. It is delivered here without any problem.
2 games of football to sort out thisafternoon, so I am busy (what's new), but am having a bit of time to myself at the moment on my computer. The children are all making jigsaws and hubby is working so peace abounds for a short while.
Happy Sunday to you all. DEBBIE

Hello All,
Huia, I'm so pleased that your calendars are selling well. Just the right time of the year to give for Christmas gifts. It would be good if you could get some thinner track bottoms for Phil, as he might be more comfortable in them.
Debbie, as usual you are very busy. I'm glad that you enjoyed the schools performance of ' Grease ' last night. I use to love going to watch the musicals when Richard and Jennie were in Secondary School. Richard was in the school orchestra, and Jennie always had a part in the production.
Marilyn, it looks as though you are going to be away for some time. Will you take your laptop with you this time?
Mo, hope you have a lovely meal out tonight, and that you'll have a great time, Please wish your grandson a very happy birthday from me. How old is he today? One of the members of the Model Railway Club is sixty today so we are going to the celebrations tonight---he doesn't know anything about it, his wife has kept it as a surprise for him.
Ann, you've got a busy weekend looking after your grandchildren. Lovely to hear about Daff--I added to her thread, I feel so happy for her. Let's hope that she will continue along the same road. How are you doing with your Christmas cards? I hope you have nearly finished them.
Jean, hope are you are able to get on with making your Christmas cards, I know you are busy getting ready for your new kitchen to be fitted.
Thinking of our friends Marie, Grace, Sue and Liz. Take care everyone.
Best wishes.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi Everyone.......its me ...!!
Hope you are all keeping well,
The sun is shinning today its a lovely autumn one and its making me want to wash all my bed linen, so that's first on the list today.
Getting ready for my winter holiday in USA, keep changing the clothes that I have laid out.....why ?......because hubby frightens me with the weight restrictions !!
I have one more lot of baby sitting to do for a week in Norwich, and usually have a coffee with the lovely Purple Liz, but as I'm needed during the day I wont be able to see her this time.
So that's next week then I'm only home for one day ,then I'm off .
So now its bath time......then house work !!
Speak soon & take care all of you . Marilyn xxxx

Morning All, thought I would pop in before that world that is my life, gets too wild on this Saturday. Loads to do with football and cross country, along with all the washing of school uniforms etc. At least still no rain so nothing is too muddy.
Huia, Congratulations on the success of your calendars. Quite a little enterprise you have going there. Will you venture into making cards or similar to keep you going through the year until the calendar season next year?
Good luck also with Phils move from one place to another. It sounds as though your idea of adapting his old shirts is a good one, and they would certainly be cooler, though they may not stretch quite as easily when he is putting them on. I don't know what his mobility is like. Those other type of shirts can be pulled a little to help the wearer get them on easier. Perhaps when the weather heats up could you buy him a pair of calf length trousers with an elesticated waist? They are cooler than track pants and still just as easy to get on.
All very well here at the moment. I took 3 of the children last night to watch "Grease" as performed by the boys' Secondary School. It was brilliant and I came away with that lovely warm feeling you get when you have had a fantastic evening. Even my children were humming the tunes as we came home. Hubby had a snooker match and eldest was fishing. I picked him up at 10.00pm.
Anyway. Have a great weekend everyone. Take care. DEBBIE

The new hospital is probably a little further than the public one and I wont be able to get a train, but it is easy to drive there and park.
Yes, Mo, that is the type of shirt. I am now wondering if I couldnt have just stitched up the front of his ordinary shirts to within a couple of buttons of the top and remove the other buttons and cut the sleeves short. They might be a bit cooler than the knit ones. There is usually central heating in those places but then I suppose he might feel the cold more, being inactive. I am wondering about the track pants too, they will be hot, apart from my thin pair.
I received some info and forms from WINZ about applying for the living alone allowance and my superannuation has now gone up, while Phils has now gone - at least no more into our bank account.
I had a phone call from one of our local firemen asking where they could get my calendars as they were at the local calf club day and several people had asked for them so I took some along. They have been selling well in the local petrol station.
Huia.

Hi all popping in and out of threads as at sons looking after the children and plenty of distractions added to which just had a G&T & a glass of wine ( to toast daff's 12 month milestone you understand?) so please ignore any spelling mistakes. Have a bit of a problem with the 2 cats making me sneeze, never used to be allergic to them while we had a cat but our last one has been gone 3 years nearly now and these seem to affect me a lot,not long haired but very dense coats (British short hairs I think they are, lovely cats called fondant and Fancy, both rescue cats and they think mother and daughter.
huia, hope Phil settles OK in his new home, you don't say if it is further for you or not but I hope they look after him well.

Hello All,
Mo, you are not the only one fed up of food shopping. We couldn't go on Wednesday as we usually do, so have been today instead. I'm sure that the prices go up each week--Janet and I couldn't get over how much most things have gone up by, not just a few pence but by forty to fifty pence on quite a lot of things. My mother always use to say what you have just said Mo, about taking a pill, but my auntie would say that it would be very boring and less interesting than having food.
Huia, will it be an easier journey for you to visit Phil now that he's moved to the private hospital? I hope so! I know what you mean about the paper tissue, it's so annoying -- there have been times when I've had to wash the clothes all over again.Hope your choir practice is going well, not sure when you said you go Rotorua.
Hope everyone else is alright, and that you all enjoy your weekend.
Take care!
Best wishes.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello Huia. Is the private hospital that Phil is in,any nearer to you. It sounds like the Bob Charles shirts, are what we call,Fred Perry. You can just pop them over the head, and they have about three buttons to the neck. Also tracky bottoms, are easy to put on. My friends husband, who had a stroke, has gone over to the same type of clothes. They are so much easier for him,and he is more independant, being able to dress himself. I always wonder how those blessed tissues get into the washing. Take care my friend. Love Mo xxx

Hi all.
Phil was moved to the private hospital 2 days ago. Yesterday I went shopping in all the op shops to get him some Bob Charles type t shirts, which the hospital prefers, also looked for some track pants. He already had 2 pairs and I managed to get another pair but with winter almost over that was all I could find. He can have one of my pairs which is getting a bit thin, so at least he will have 4 pairs. When I got home (after lunch) I washed them all plus a few other things. Unfortunately I seem to have had a paper tissue among them and now there are little bits of white all over the (mostly) navy blue clothes so will have to brush them all down. At least the weather was good so got them almost dry. I now have to sew name tags on them all. That should keep me out of mischief today.
Huia.

Hello everyone. How are we all tonight. I am fine Sallie, fed up of food shopping though. I wish someone would invent a pill, that we could take instead of the shopping and cooking we have to do. And if we had disposable clothing,we would save the environment as well. I know,I know, I am waffling agin, but I can dream. Anyway,by the time it's all invented,I dare say that I will hardly care. What has your weather been like today, where you all are. It has been dry and bright here. I got a line full of washing dry, that was a bonus. Take care all. Love Mo xxx
