A very good evening to you all. It's lovely to hear from you all,and catch up on all the news. A big hello to our Marie from OZ. The jabs I was supposed to have were for the flu and for pneumonia. The pneumonia is a once in a life time injection, but the flu one,is given yearly to the over 65's,or if you are asthmatic or diabetic before that. And as I don't come into any of the catagories,I was not allowed to have it. Ah come on now everyone,.....Shame.... I hope you ane the family are all well. Jean, because my kitchen is so small,I would not dare put red on even one wall. So we have gone for a shade of champagne. It is darker than the champagne colour that we have ordered for the cupboards. The units we have at the moments are pine coloured, and make the kitchen so dark. So I am not much help to you I am afraid. Sallie,I am not sure what I do wrong, when I forward things. When I received it,I only had to open the e.mail and it all appeared at once, not separately. I also sent it to Jean, and I think she may have had problems with it as well. I shall have to get my daughter to show me again, how to do it. Hi Debbie, I hope you have managed to complete all your paperwork. My son has his own business as well,so I can understand what you have to go through. What a shame that the boys had to play each other. One upmanship will always come into it somewhere, especially where brothers are concerned. My youngest,at 32 is still trying to keep up with his elder brother, even now. I know that Ann is about,as I have seen her on other threads. Such good news about your dad as well. He is bound to get tired out pretty quickly, but once they get his results, they should be able to sort him out properly. It is so sad about the fisherman. But I am glad that they found him. At least the family have a place to go to remember him,in peace. Love to our Huia, our thoughts are with you and Phil. Well girls,I will love you and leave you. Take care one and all. Love Mo xxx

Hi Debbie, So glad that the football match went well. Well done to Daniel and also to Matthew for losing with dignity--he's a true sportsman. Sorry to hear that your Dad is still having bad days, but as you say he knows how to handle them. Lets hope that he will soon have more good days than bad. Speak to you soon.
Love, Sallie.xx

Hi All, thought I'd pop in to have a chat whilst I am stuck to the computer for the next hour or so catching up on bills to go out. Lovely running your own business until the paperwork has to be done - not my favourite thing.
Anyway, I've been on my walking course thismorning, a lovely country lanes walk in sunshine, though a bit nippy on the fingers now.
Huia, I hope that all is going ok with you. You go and have a good time safe in the knowledge that Phil is being very well cared for. You really do deserve some "You Time", if anyone does. Hope the eyes, sneezes and other niggles sort themselves out. I need to PM Anne in Glos about accommodation in Jersey next year. Has anyone heard from her at all? I'll send her a message. I hope she is ok.
Well, the football last Sunday went the way I thought it would, Daniels team beat Matthews team 5-2. It was a very good game and both boys enjoyed it. Daniels team are a lot stronger though, and any other result would have been a surprise. Better that Daniel wins as Matthew can take a loss in his stride with more grace and dignity. Daniel doesn't like to lose (especially to his younger brother - at anything).
All well here, my Dad is still the same and has good and bad days, but he knows how to handle a bad day now and just takes the few hours he is up, very easily. Other days he can be found pottering around in the garden.
Sallie I am so glad your trip for your Brother went well. It sounded like a very enjoyable day. Congratulations to him for being so dedicated and committed.
Mo, not morbid talking about funerals. We haven't though that far ahead, but my parents certainly have and it is a thing which each and every one of us will have to face at some point. Hubby is going to the funeral on Tuesday of that poor Fisherman who drowned. That will be a very big service. He was only 66 with a wife and 3 daughters. Such a shame.
Anyway, got to get back to the mundane necessities of life. Take care everyone. DEBBIE

Where's everyone gone to? I hope Ann, Liz, Marilyn and Grace are all okay. We haven't heard anything from them for a while.
Marie, how are things with you? I hope you and your family are all alright.
Huia, hope all is well with you today. Did the social worker call to see you?
Mo, I finally managed to look at all except one, of the pictures, I thought they were quite funny. I tried to pm you last night, but for some reason I couldn't send it, not sure if it was GR or my laptop. So tried adding to this thread, it wouldn't do that either. Goodness knows what the problem was. I hope everything is alright with you, Roly, and the family.
Jean, pleased that you got your case back. I bet J is happy that he has got his underwear back too. Yes, I think red would look nice on the one wall, but you'll have to try and convince J of that--I know what it's like because I the same problem with Alun, Oh men!
Richard and Christie went back this evening. I had them all here for dinner again today--Jennie and Michael left the same time as them, and Alun has gone to the model railway club, so it's very quiet here now.
Anyway, I am going to make myself a nice cuppa and maybe do a bit of scrapping.
Love and best wishes to all our friends on here.

Yes Sallie,we had married quarters, when dad was stationed in Crickhowell. I cant remember what it was like there, but I do remember the farm. I forgot to tell you earlier,I had to go for my jabs today. But the nurse said I was to young to have them, thats the first time in ages that I am to young to have something. So I had a wasted journey. Night Night all god bless. Mo xxx

Hi Everyone,
Jean, Alun and I like Abergavenny very much, it's a lovely little market town. We are hoping to down again in a few weeks, there are a couple of shops there, that I can usually find something a bit different, to give for Christmas presents. I also like the homemade marmalade that they sell in the market, so we get a few jars each time we go down. As Mo's already said, you have got a lot on your mind, with having the kitchen done and thinking of getting all your things together to go on holiday.
Mo, did you live in Crickhowell while your father was stationed there? Alun and I really love it down that way, after all we are both Monmouthshire born and bred. My brother and sister-in-law live in a bungalow that overlooks the Sugar Loaf mountain, it's a wonderful view.
Huia, I'm sure that nothing will happen to Phil while you are away in Rororua. You will be able to go and not worry too much about Phil--you know that he'll be well looked after while you are there. So, go and do what you enjoy doing best. You have nothing to reproach yourself for, you looked after Phil for as long as you could, so now it's time for you. Hope all goes well with the social worker.
Well, Alun has just made us all a hot drink, so I'll say goodnight to you all.
All good wishes to everyone.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Evening all. Jean you are probably not sleeping properly, because of everything that is going on in your life at the moment. You are upside down at home,in readiness of kitchen etc. Plus with your holiday coming up,as well. Theres all the packing, and making sure you don't forget anything. I think D deserves a medal, can you send her down here next please. You mentioning Abergavenny, has reminded me of when I was a child. My dad was stationed in Crickhowell (sp) near Abergavenny. It was lovely there, and I had a friend whose parents owned a farm there. Huia, why am I not surprised that the social worker didn't turn up. I dare say they were concerned about you, seeing as you were so upset. I am sure that Phil will still be waiting for you,on your return from Rotorua. Just you go and enjoy yourself love, and try not to worry to much. Both Roly and I paid for our funerals, years ago. And have written in our wills whats to go to who. Sorry girls,if I am appearing morose,I dont mean to be. Sallie,I am so pleased you had such a lovely day on Sunday. Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hi all.
The social worker didnt come. I waited an hour and then she phoned to ask if it was today she was supposed to come. She had written me in for 3 different days! She will come tomorrow morning. She came a week ago. I think she is just making sure that I am coping because when I visited Phil a week ago I was in tears the whole time. She wanted to know if I was coping with paying bills etc. I have always done that, so no problems there.
Had a thought when choir practice finished tonight, I hope Phil doesnt die the weekend I am in Rotorua, or the weekend of our concert in November. If he does, I wonder if he could be put in the fridge until I am free. I must start making inquiries about cardboard boxes (I know Phil wont want an expensive fancy one). Also about whether his skin, bones etc can be used for other people - I doubt if his heart etc will be much use at his age. I would also like his brain to be used for research, or for students to practice on. We were down as organ donors years ago, so I am sure he would appreciate it. Do I sound cold and callous planning these things? I am just being realistic and it is better to be prepared.
Off to bed soon.
Huia.

Morning everyone, having trouble sleeping again,Sallie we are off for two weeks, it will take that long to finish everything off.... we are having other jobs done at the same time, poor D has to put up with it all....ha ha......but when we get back we have to put stuff away!!! Huia, sorry that you have conjunctivitis, it is horrible, I hope it will get better very soon. Alun suffered from it when he was doing the final exams for his degree. I don't know how he coped with his exams, but he did. All the best. Love, Sallie.xx

Hi All,
Mo, we had a lovely day in Wales. First we went out for Sunday lunch to a place in Abergavenny, it was really nice--we've been there several times before and always found the food good, not sure if they have a new chef, as the lunch was the best we have had there. I felt so proud of my brother, having achieved all that he has at his time of life. The Bishop of Monmouth took the service, in one of the churches that my brother is in charge of, it all went off really well and was very enjoyable. As usual, it was nice seeing members of the family, and friends of my brother and sister-in-law. Michael's dad is alright since he's home, thank you Mo. I think it really frightened him, so now he is wary of what he eats.
Jean, so pleased that you have had your case back, at least you will be able to take your Nintendo with you to Llandudno. I quite envy youJean, a week of doing what you want to do, when you want to.
Huia, I hope that your throat will be better and your sneezes will stop so that you are able to practice in time for you to be able sing when you go to Rotorua. Hope all went well with the social worker, and that you were able to get your shopping done afterwards.
Richard and Christie have arrived tonight instead of tomorrow. I have been busy getting things ready before they arrived, so haven't had time to get on here until now.
Hope everyone is alright. I wonder where all the others are, It seems ages since we've heard from some of them.
Speak to you tomorrow!
Best wishes to you all.
Love, Sallie.xx

My goodness Huia, you dont do things by half,do you love. Conjuctivitus is awful isn't it,all that junk coming out of your eyes, and talk about itchy. It does sound like you have got hay fever,or allergic rhinitus. Maybe the doctor could send you for allergy testing, you just never know these days. I presume that the social worker,is coming to see you re. Phil. I do hope that they are prepared to help you both. Will you be staying with your son, when you go to Rotorua the weekend after next.? That would be so nice for you,to get a nice break away there. And of course to sing with the choir. Enjoy yourself in town, dont spend to much. Love Mo xxx

Hi there. Mo, I have had a busy weekend. After the conference at the hospital our son stayed the night and next day we were busy outside tidying up the lawns and gardens a bit. He left about 3pm to go back to Rotorua. My eyes were feeling slightly sore and he said they were bloodshot. I dont remember doing much on Sunday, but the eyes were very sore so Monday (yesterday) I went to the doc. I have conjunctivitis, so in addition to putting eyedrops in (for glaucoma) 3 X a day I now have to put ointment in 3 X a day. I also asked about a scratchy throat which makes me cough, as our choir has only 3 or 4 more rehearsals before the concerts and I dont want to miss them. I am also going to a choral thing in Rotorua the weekend after next so want to be able to sing. She looked at my throat, commented that it was rather red and told me to drink lots of water - apparently tea isnt good enough. I also mentioned the sneezing attacks I get sometimes. I will sneeze 30 times in a row. I cant think of anything that triggers it - I can be sitting here typing away and the nose starts to itch and then the sneezes come. Or I might be watching telly. Or reading the paper. Last week it was at choir practice, the first time I remember it happening in public. All the doc recommended was antihistamines, but she didnt prescribe them. I had some once before when I asked another doc about my sneezes, but they didnt cure it and I dont want to take a.hists. for the rest of my life. The sneezes dont do my throat any good for singing either. I think I will have to ask to see an ENT person some time, see if I can get it sorted. Or is it an allergy? But then it is a totally random thing. Most frustrating.
The social worker is coming to visit again in 6 hours, after which I will be off to town to do a little shopping and go to choir practice in the evening. I must have a look at the music first as there is one piece that I had problems with last week. I havent been as diligent about learning the music as I used to be.
Huia.
