Just a quickie, and sorry I missed you out my dear Jean, glad things aren't too bad and hope you will enjoy your holiday, even without a break beforehand. I am still trying to organise something for our hols.

I heard some man on tv say the other day, Oh yes I wear the trousers in this house but she says which ones! Loved it lol

night all, I am off to bed, and woe betide him if my side is all hot and crumpled. He won't be long before he gets up as he has to be at work earlier today, trouble is it means he gets home earlier too, woe is me!

hope everyone has a good day, not too eventful but not too boring either.
love

Oh my god Sallie. I do feel for you, about the debit card. It happened to Roly as well. But,the bank rang him and asked if he tried to buy something large,in a department store in America, and it had been used
in this country as well.
Apparantly, they had not got the expiry date right on the card,so it was queeried, thank god.
Ann,when my mum was alive,I had to take her to the hospital to have a rodent ulcer removed from her face. She had it done by a local jab, bless her. She kept saying "Oh I wish this spot on my face would go away".
But the doctor noticed it,on one of the occasions, that we had to visit him.
I thought they had brought the waiting times, for hospitals down. But it doesn't seem the case does it.
Oh Jean, please tell me J is o.k,and that this is just a check up for him, after
his OP.
He's gone through so much recently, bless him.
I am going to go and sulk now,coz our Jeans picking on me. LOL.Luvs ya
Jean.
See you all later. Mo xxx

Mo I think that is one of the symptoms of swine flu as well as being an effect of tamiflu. Sounds nasty, Some people seem to sail through it and others get it more badly. I suppose it depends on your health when you get it and if your immune system is already not 100% Hope she gets better soon anyway.

Sallie, no idea where your card was cloned? Was it on the internet? What a pain!!!

Glad you had a good nights sleep jean and that you feel better today.

Sallie, I had a rodent ulcer removed from my upper abdomen February before last, the op was done under a general as the scar was so big. But this one on my shoulder is not that big so i am hoping it will be a local. was in overnight with the other one. The first one started as a patch caused by an allergic reaction to biological washing powder 30 years before the ulcer developed. The second is where my bra strap rubbed., there was a rubbed patch there for a year or so then all of a sudden it came up like a boil, which I thought it was, but it didn't go so off I went to the Drs that was in June, over 2 months to wait for an appointment with the dermatologist, then if he says it is a rodent ulcer, if it is like last time, I will have to see the oncologist about having it removed!

Hi again everyone,

Mo, just thought I'd let you know that at the moment Jennie is fine. The new medication seems to be doing it's job, hopefully it will continue to do so. She still has to have her blood checked, but that's a good thing, at least we know that they are keeping a close eye on her.

Jean, sorry you aren't able to have the small break before your holiday.
Still, as long as things are all okay with J, that's the important thing. As you said you can always have some days out.
I'm a bit dubious about buying off e-bay-- and now I'm bothered about buying online after someone managed to use my debit card details to buy a computer for nearly £1,800. We had the money back from the bank after five days, but it was the inconvenience of not being able to get any money until they sent me a new card. The trouble was, I was down in Richard's for a week, so I had to borrow some money off him.

Well that's all for now girls, speak to you all soon.

Love, Sallie.xx

Hello folks, nice to see your adds, I have some new painkillers now and I took one last nite and slept right through until 6.30. feel so much better today,

Sallie we wont be able to get away, J has to have yet another check up different doc, during early Sept, so we will go out if the forecast is good, and go out a lot for meals.... twist your ohs arm for the photo, I have just taken quite a few of my earlier scrap pages and tried to put them on the laptop ,I had even wrote how to do it, went really well until I couldnt see any pics, so when D comes home she will have to show me again...

I have had lots of scrap stuff off e-bay,very good prices, no problem getting them , I am addicted to buying on line....lol....

love to all, and that has to include Mo, who has a little sulk if we leave her out....Jean xxxxxxx

Hello girls. How are we all today.
Marilyn, have you been to the market in Norwich? When we go up to Caister,we very often go into Norwich, and I love to browse the market stalls. Mind you,we haven't been for a few years,so I hope it is still there.
The Red Arrows always appear at the Biggin Hill air show, and they are spectacular. But my favourites are the very old planes, such as the B52
bombers ie the Sally B.
Hope you get to finish the curtains soon.
Sallie,Roly is at the hospital on Tuesday. His appointment is supposed to be at 9.45,but I don't think we will get seen at that time.
What annoys me,is the amount the parking fees. The minimum payment
is £1.50,so even if you only have to drop a sample of there, you still have to pay the £1.50,even though you may only be in there a couple of minutes.
And there is still no news on my grandaughter.
My daughter is starting to feel a bit better now. This swine flu,is an awful
thing to catch isn't it.
We had to take a sample up to the hospital today, for her,as she cannot keep of the toilet. I know one of the side effects of tami flu is,the back door trots. But she had it,on the onset of the flu,and cannot clear herself of it.
I presume you will understand what I mean by [ back door trots ] without
my having to try and spell the full word.
I am wondering how both Sallie and Jeans daughters are doing. You have not mentioned them for a while,so I hope they are both o.k.
I hope you are feeling better today, our Jean. Back to your happy smiley self. We miss you, what are you up to. I hope you and J are being good, and not getting up to much mischief.
I wonder how Debbie and the children are now, after their holiday.
Cooooeee Debbie,~~~~~~~~to you and the kids.
Love to Marie,Grace,Sue,Huia,Liz,Ann.
Take care everybody. Mo xxx

Hi Ladies,

I didn't have time to get on here yesterday, so have just read all your messages.

Huia, I hope the clinic will get in touch with you very soon so that your problem can be sorted out. It's good that you cried and that there was someone there to comfort you. You have had so much stress and worry for so long, that it does you good to let it all out by having a good cry.
When do you next go to see Phil? I hope you will manage to find him a place in one of the rest homes before too long.

Mo, yes it is a bit annoying that they charge more in the art shop for their craft stuff, but some of the things they sell I haven't been able to find anywhere else. Seeing that the scrapbook is for a special birthday, I don't mind paying a bit extra for a couple of embellishments.
Do you know if your granddaughter has had her results yet? I keep thinking about her, and hoping that the news will be good.
Hope Roly is okay! Is it next week that he goes to the hospital?
Mo, I hope you are alright too, take care of yourself.

Liz, hope things are well with you and that your hubby's knee is better.
I've been feeling a bit down for a few days, but you have managed to make me laugh telling us about the bed. I would have loved to have been a fly on your wall.
It must be great seeing the Red Arrows flying over your house. I've only ever seen them on the television-- you never know I might see them at an air show one day. My son lives three miles from Heathrow Airport, and I love to sit in his living room and watch the planes just after take off flying quite low over the houses near him.

Jean, I read on Ann's thread that you haven't been feeling too good this week. I hope you are feeling a bit better today and a little less tired. I'm still waiting for Alun to send the photo--I wish I could do it myself without forgetting how to do it. Have you managed to book a few days away before your main holiday. You'll probably find that the break will do both you and Jeff good. Hope you'll find somewhere!

Marilyn, I don't envy you the job of sewing curtains- that's one job I hate, especially when you have to match the material. Good luck with them.

Ann, my sister-in-law had a rodent ulcer removed from her leg earlier this year, she is fine now, thank goodness. About eighteen months ago she suffered from a bad dose of shingles on her leg, after it had cleared she was left with a small spot, which over time grew bigger. My niece is a nurse and made her mother go to the doctor as she thought that it looked like a rodent ulcer. My sister-in-law thought that it was just a spot and didn't like to bother the doctor. Anyway all's well that ends well.

Love to Sue, Grace, Marie and Debbie.

Best wishes to you all.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi all,
been hot here in Norwich on Weds and more today I think, wish I could just sit outside and read and enjoy the sun,but no, had to drive into the city and do errands and because my lovely Red Arrows flew over after being at Cromer Carnival, at around midday on Weds I was woken up abruptly and earlier than I had wanted, I did dash to the bathroom, climbed into the (empty) bath to be able to look out the window at them zooming over the field at the end of the garden to go to the local airport not far from here. There are spectacular and give me goosebumps whenever I see them. No aerobatics just flying in but I recognise their sound and love to see them, just not when I am trying to sleep lol
I dozed off again and woke up late, had to use car to go in as o.h. had gone to work on the bus, his knee is still too sore to cycle, but it meant I had to turn out at 10pm to go and pick him up from work! Still have more errands to do so will use my bus pass and go out this afternoon to do the things I missed yesterday. i say 'had' as if I hadn't gone after all and he had bussed in for nothing, I wouldn't have heard the end of it lol

Huia, you have taken so much lately, no wonder you weep, let it out and hope the apptmt comes through soon so that you can have whatever the problem is, dealt with and done with! Will be one less worry off your mind then. Hope Phil is happier with his pictures to look at and his harmonica etc and you won't get called too many times. I am glad you seem to have some very supportive neighbours, also it is good that summer is coming for you? so that the days will be longer and brighter as ours get darker and gloomier. It would be awful if you now hard dark days to cope with, summer will help you adjust better I expect to the changes in your life and give you the opportunity to get out and about more easily.

Sallie, the bed was ok and is still looking surprisingly fresh, I think with his knee hurting, he is staying still so not crumpling up the bedsheets lol He is not allowed over on my side at all!!!! Woe betide him if he shuffles a bit, a sharp accidental dig with my elbow works very well lol

Marilyn, hi there, hope you aren't suffering too much in this heat lol You should be used to it by now. Are you coming this way soon, please don't say it will be end Sept, when I probably won't be around.

love to all, sorry if I have missed something/someone, am really tired now

Thank you every body. Here is a poem I have just thought up:

How much more, oh Lord.
My back might be broad
But how much more must I take?
Please give me a break.

I think he must be really trying me to make sure I am fit for heaven when I go.

I am not scared about the biopsy, as has been said it isnt cancer yet and MIGHT just be precancerous. But with my father dying of Leukaemia and my younger sister of bowel cancer I have to get things checked out.

I must have sounded like a real drama queen lately, but I havent invented any of it. I try to put a funny side on my postings but like the clown inside I am often in tears. And saying that has started me again. Better go and find the master turncock to stop the flow.

I love you all, going out soon so better get changed.

Hi all.
It's a very very hot day here in Kent. I was in the garden at eight a.m,filling in between the paving slabs. Roly did half of it yesterday, and I finished the rest before it got to hot.
Roly has finished painting the front of the house,so we are now up to date with most of things that have to be done before winter sets in.
Huia, god willing it will not be as you are thinking. Have they said when you have to go to the clinic? BIG BIG HUGS for you,we are here for you love.
I am glad you took the photo's in for Phil, they will be his life line to normality, and for all his good memories.
Phil has had such a full, and exciting life bless him.
If I could find a four leaf clover,I would send it to you,to change your luck for
better,rather than bad.
It seems unfair Sallie, that they charge so much for crafting bits.
When I was at work,my boss was really good at card making. But she said how dear everything was,and had to charge people more for her cards than she really wanted to.
Marilyn, have you got those plants put in yet? and hows the curtain making going. You must be sweating buckets, doing it in this weather.
I think I will make tea for everyone.

Huia I a sure that you are emotional because you have been through such a tough time lately and I am equally sure that the tears did you good. Of course the thought of cancer is scary (I have a hospital appointment looming to check out what I and the Dr think is a rodent ulcer, but any lump is a lump and could be anything so i am sort of scaredish too) But the Dr has said your is probably pre cancer whcih means they have caught it before it turns cancerous which is good. Good luck with it anyway.

Marilyn, hot and very windy here in Gloucester but not humid, make the most of it because the forecasters are warning it is a one day wonder.... The joys of an English summer!! But then without the rain our trees would not be so green so we should not complain really, just wish it could be a bit more equal, less rain and more sun!!!!

I cant keep pace with you all, but I do read all your messages even though I don't always respond back to you individually.
Huia,
Please don't worry about your thoughts of cancer ,as I'm a survivor of Cervical cancer, it is treatable, so that's one worry off of your list.
So you have to like you say take one day at a time as we all have to now.

Take care everyone love seeing all your posts.

Huia Report 19 Aug 2009 08:11

Next episode: I knew it was a mistake to go to docs! My bp was up but that wasnt surprising, but I asked him to check out an itch you-know-where. He said while it isnt cancerous he would write to the super clinic and they would probably want to do a biopsy in case it is precancerous. I wasnt upset by that. A friend was waiting to have lunch with me and I quite cheerfully told her, but when I went to visit Phil I decided to tell the Charge Nurse and I burst into tears telling her. Then not too long after I got home, before I had unlocked the deadbolts a woman from down the road knocked. When I saw her I burst into tears again and hugged her as I told her. It has been one d****** thing after another lately and this possibility is the last straw, although I will beat it if it is precancerous. It never pays to be too embarrassed to mention these things to a (male) doc. A former neighbour would never go for a smear test because she would be too embarrassed. I said I preferred a little embarrassment to finding I had cancer.

BTW am I spellling embar(r?)assed correctly? It is one word I can never be sure about. Too lazy to check it out.

Huia, wondering what tomorrow will bring. (But my baby is home at last!)

Sallie Report 18 Aug 2009 20:53

Hi Everyone,

Huia, I'm so pleased that your visit to Phil went well and that you didn't have too much trouble persuading him to stay at the hospital. Sorry that you have another problem with the car--lets hope that they can fix it very soon. You must have been disappointed when you seen the calendars -- they had a nerve suggesting that you take the calendars as they are, and that nobody would notice. Just because they didn't notice, it doesn't mean that no one else will. You know that the calendars are not right and couldn't sell them as they are. You shouldn't get charged for their mistake.
Hope all will go well at the doctors tomorrow, I'll be thinking about you.

Debbie, so glad you all had a lovely holiday and that you had good weather the whole of the time. It's nice to have you back .

Marie, it's nice to hear from you and to know that all is well with you and your family.

Liz, you made me laugh when you told us about the nice clean linen on the bed. I hope he didn't crumple your side of the bed.

Mo, hope you, Roly and the family are alright. I've been out quite a bit today.
Went to Nottingham this morning, had to go to one of the art shops there, they also sell craft things, although they are a bit expensive so only go as a last resort. Anyway I managed to get what I wanted, so it wasn't a wasted journey.

Love to Jean, Grace, Sue and Marilyn.

Best wishes to you all.

Huia Report 18 Aug 2009 20:32

Mo, I took in a variety of photos. There was one at a Christmas party at Wembley when he used to work in the kennels there as a teenager.

As all the photos were 2 to an A4 page I was able to write in the borders who, what, where, when.

The next was taken in the war dogs training school with the dogs running to their handlers as called. Phil did his nat. service there just before he came to NZ.

Photos of me, the children and grandchildren, his parents and sister, our current cat and the last cat and dog.

Lots of photos of some of the tramps we have done up Ruapehu and Tongariro and the Kepler track in the South Island. Also one of our flight over Ruapehu when it was erupting. A couple of photos of the nearby dam and the 108 steps on a track near it. Our case manager said she had been there.

I am hoping the staff will look through the photos and realise how much he loves walking and the outdoors. I did tell one of them that he just lives for walking. Phil didnt have much to say while I was there until I said goodbye and then he said he thought he was coming home with me.

Debbie, I know Phil is in the best place, although that will probably not be permanent, but I will have to ask if I should book him in for the permanent place I like or if I should wait or let them do it. The trouble is that there are often shortages of vacancies. I just dont want him home here permanently, it is not safe for him and it is not good for my health which doesnt help him at all. I am looking forward to the time when I feel I have caught up on all the sleep I have missed this year, and I am enjoying not having a Siamese twin when I go to town, and am looking forward to possibly rejoining the choir I was in and doing so more genealogy.

Better go and have a shower soon, I havent had one since son was here on Saturday! It is now Wed. morning.

My love to all you beautiful caring people.

Huia.
