Hi Everyone,

Very late looking in today. I've been out quite a lot of the day and had a few small jobs to do.

Huia, it's good that your son and daughter have finally realised how difficult things have been for you. I hope you can get OH in a few days to start with, at least it will give you a much needed break. No matter how much you love him and with the best will in the world, you can't be there for him twenty four hours a day. You are not abandoning him Huia, it's because you care about his safety that you are doing this. When he comes home after spending a few days away, you will be able to cope so much better.

Thinking about both you and OH, and sending my best wishes to you both.

Mo, my son thought back in March that his dad should be in a rest home. He knew how hard it was for me. I am not sure if our daughter realised. She has been busy with family and work but now she knows what it is like for me. She kept her legs crossed until I got back as she was afraid her dad might decide to go walking on his own, even try to walk home (33km).

I have to wait another half hour or so to ring the manager of the home I want to put him in on Tues and Wed. I will just make it short stays initially, get him used to it. At present he is walking in the light rain with our vol firefighter. I hope they dont get back before I have made the call.

Thank goodness,the family realise at long last that you need their help.
It's surprising how families see,but don't see,if you get my meaning. It was the same with my lot,when Roly had his brain haemmorage. They were concerned about their dad,but I also needed a bit of thought as well.
It's the same when a partner is in hospital,folk always say,how is yout OH
but not many people ask how you yourself are coping.
Keep your chin up love,you are a strong lady,even if you don't realise it.
Oh poor you Jean. You had just got used to the fact you would be getting a break,and it was snatched away from you.
Tell us who it was and we girls will go and sort them out. lol
Hopefully,you will have better luck next time.
How are you both, well I hope.
Have you started your medication yet,Marilyn.? How are you coping with cutting down on your sugar intake. i.e biscuits etc.

Me again.

OH spent the day at our daughters place, helped her take her 2 dogs for a walk. She says in an email that people cant believe how quickly he had the smaller one walking to heel. She has always been so busy with her family she hasnt seen all that much of her dad but she is planning to come visiting more often, and maybe I can take him to her place one morning a week until we get him permanently in a home.
She was impressed also at the devotion he showed for me, wanting to get back to me. Had me in tears reading her email, since I am thinking of getting him into a home. But I will not be completely abandoning him, only putting him somewhere where he will be safe and I will be able to retain my health and sanity.

Must be off to bed soon, am dog tired even though I didnt walk the dogs! Huia.

I hope to book OH in for a short term stay in a rest home for 2/3 days next week. I might do it every couple of weeks until he has been fully reassessed and accepted as a long term need. He might not think he is but I am!

Jean and Mo, I did receive Jeans photo from Mo on my usual addy and from Jean on my alternative one. It took an age to download the one from Jean, but on my usual addy it comes up quite quickly which is why I prefer that addy.

Sorry I didnt tell you earlier that it had come through, but as you will realise I had other things on my mind.

Hooray, guess who has just booked a holiday....me....me....me....lol..
we have booked a week in the Lake District in September...at last something to look forward to, we love Cumbria, lots of beautiful scenery so hopefully lots of new photos.
Sallie glad you liked the pages and the guys too !!!quite tasteful poses I thought.

Grace how are you , nice to have you back on here we do miss folk when they havent been on for a while, just going to have a look on My Space,
we shall have to have her autograph when she is famous....

Marilyn, just think how slim you will be , all those new clothes, we will have to get you to do a whole new set of photos....


Huia have you had time to check your mail, we were just wondering if ours came through..... I am sure it will seem strange being without your O H for a few days, but I firmly believe it is not a coincidence coming at a time when you were getting very weary, prayers do get answered, so enjoy your rest, then face the next thing with a clear mind ...we are all behind you and sending love and prayers......

I'm okay thank you Mo, but Alun has a cold so is feeling a bit under the weather. I don't think we are having any more visitors for a while. Alun and I are hoping to go across to North Wales some time at the beginning of September to try and find some information on my father's side of the family.


Jean, thank you for the rest of the piccies. They are really lovely. I'm not very good at sending photos or documents by e-mail, Alun has to do all that for me. The problem with that is, I have to ask him a few times to do something before he gets round to doing it. But I'll send them as soon as possible.

Grace, nice to hear from you. Well done to Gemma on her charity appearance at Blackpool, and on raising the money for the 4 year old boy.
I'll have to have a look at My Space or the other website you mentioned.

Marilyn, sorry to hear that you can't have any more goodies.
Never mind, it could be a lot worse. As long as you are alright, that's all that matters.

My OH woke me at 5.56am despite a note on the bench saying no cuppa for me, let me sleep. It is still dark outside almost an hour later. Most of the places I am looking at are short stay (as well as long stay ones) which currently have vacancies. I dont think the one I prefer has short stay but I can at least put his name on the waiting list until such time as he has been reassessed as needing it, and in the meantime use the short stay once or twice for 2/3 days at a time to give me some breathing space. Who would be a siamese twin?

Like you,a lot of my ancesters came from Devon. Around the Stoke area.
And the others were from Talland Cornwall. I have never heard of the places before.
But I have come unstuck,one set of the family. Charles Cornelius Foster
1869. Married Mary Martha Flaherty 1869 in March 1890,but it has her birth
as either India or Ceylon. And I cannot find her parents. I believe her father
was Matthias Flaherty,but not sure. So now you can see why I gave up.
So you see Grace,we could well be related,what with my Irish ancestors
as well as you.
You must be so proud of your grandaughters.

Well I'm still ALIVE.. LOL

Got underactive Thyroid, and if I'm not carefull could end up a Diabetic !!
So out goes all my Chocolates ...Cakes ....Biccy's , and most precious of all my ......WINE.!

So I guess its a sad tale really...
I have been and got loads of salad, and sorted my biccys out or rather going to put them at the top of the cupboard , as hubby needs them .

So in the mean time I'm just going to sulk !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

your OH just three days,or can they help you out on a permamant basis.
I suppose it may be a good idea,to try him on a three day visit,to see how he settles first though.
The break will do you the world of good,to help you get your strength back.

Got the doc's this morning.....wondering what he is going to tell me ,due to 5 blood tests I had.

The surgery keeps ringing me to make an appointment ,I tell them I have already MADE ONE....that's happened 3 times..!!!

So I must be in great demand...perhaps they want to put me to
sleep !!! LOL
