Morning you two gadabouts :-D :-D :-D :-D

Just having a quiet half hour before sorting out what to wear today!

The weather doesn't affect my foot, LG. I really need to do the exercises more often!! The gp said I could go back if the tablets didn't work and he would refer me to a foot specialist for a special insole that will relieve the pressure.

I didn't realise, in my ignorance, how near you are to the location yesterday, LG. I just assumed it was near the Smoke.

DET, I hope you have a safe drive home. At least there is no bad weather to hold you up. The sun is out here today, although it is very chilly. Our southern visitors that were here mid week were complaining how cold it is compared to darn sarf. I told them they were 'nesh' :-D :-D

YG Report 6 Mar 2016 13:06

You have just put me off downloading Windows 10, Maz!! What operating system did you have before?

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 6 Mar 2016 13:56

I am not going to use Windows 10 until all it's glitches have been sorted as I did with 7.

No sign of DET , I thought they might well have been home by now

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 6 Mar 2016 13:59

We got home about 45 mins ago. The Run home was fine except we couldn't get on to the M1 from MK! They'd closed it for road works & we were sent alll round the houses. The lady in the Sat Nav was not a happy bunny.
At least we saw a bit of the country side - Woburn Sands and Aspley Guise. If the road closure is longer than today, they'll be right pee'd off having diverted traffic throught the village.

We didn't bother with breakfast until we got to a service station - just coffee and a croissant while sitting in the car. Once OH has 'Home' in his sights, there's no stopping him ;-)

Although its nice to go away, its even better to get home. Your own coffee, chair and space.

Hope your shift is a quiet one Maz & you manage to get some sleep. An inner sole sounds a good idea YG if it makes walking more comfortable for you.

Win10 LG I have it. Don't remember there being a Win9
I was on WinXP and Win7 before Win10...was happy with both

LaGooner Report 6 Mar 2016 15:06

I am on windows 7 David.

Pleased you are both home safe DET. Aspley Guise is a cute little village I have often cut off around that way to get home when the traffic on the 421 has been awful.
A little more detour and you could have called in here for brekkie :-D :-D :-D :-D

I have a special insole from Podiatrist to help my ankle YG. Brilliant thing :-D :-D

YG Report 6 Mar 2016 22:20

Evening everyone :-)

I got home about half an hour ago after a lovely day and a great dinner cooked by R!! :-D :-D His first attempt in the new house and his Yorkshire Puddings proved him to be a true Yorkie :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

I have come home laden with pressies, a miniature standard rose in a ceramic pot, a huge box of spa goodies, some make up, nail polish, another set of handcream, mug and fingerless gloves and last but not least, my rail ticket for the RGP in an envelope decorated by C with different pictures of Buck Palace and associated royal pictures :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

R has sorted out my gas and electric account and transferred me to another tariff. That has resulted in a £30 cash back in a few weeks time and a £50 Amazon voucher :-) :-) :-)

Not a bad day, all in all :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

That is lovely YG and what lovely gifts. I cheat with my Yorkshire puds and buy frozen :-0 :-0 :-0. Grandad will be turning in his grave as he always made superb ones. Mine are truly awful :-|

YG

YG Report 6 Mar 2016 22:56

I tend to buy the ready made ones, LG. Ashamed to say, but I don't seem be able to get them to rise in the fan oven. There is nothing like a home made one though when they are good ones :-D :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 6 Mar 2016 23:03

I agree with you YG. Mine are more like soggy pancakes so I give up and buy frozen.

YG Report 6 Mar 2016 23:24

Not getting the fat hot enough, LG :-D :-D :-D

I'm off to bed now and having a lovely extra hour or so in the morning. No work :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Sleep well, LG and don't forget I'll be lurking tomorrow!! :-) <3

Morning all

Hope you are enjoying your extra hour or do in bed YG. What are you planning to do with your day?

You were given some wonderful gifts & the rail tickets were an added bonus. You had said you were a little concerned about the cost.
Ours gave me a box of Hotel Chocolate chocs, Macaroons, and a room diffuser with reeds. TBH, I'd have been happy with a card :-) My attitude probably stems from my upbringing where both parents were aware that the cost of flowers etc went up on Valentines Day and Mothering Sunday. We're also aware that each child has a differing level of disposable income. In the past it's been embarrassing for the less well paid.

OH is now the Yorkshire Pudding cook. He says the oven and oil has to be smoking hot. I still use the frozen ones as an accompaniment. His Toad in the hole is to die for.

What is it with computer equipment at the moment? Our printer has decided not to print in black despite changing the cartridge 3 times. We'll get a branded new one but if that doesnt work it's a new printer. :-(

Det, since upgrading fom Win7 to Win10 my pc will not allow me to use my
all in one HP printer, copier, scanner. The latter being in perfect condition.
Microsoft control a lot more than their software 9 :-| :-|

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Mar 2016 08:50

David, our PC is positively ancient & the operating system we acquired isn't recognised by Microsoft. There no chance of upgrading to a new version even if we wanted to! We had talked about getting a new one and a legit system but the thought of having to move or check we've backed up everything is horrendous. :-0
