Cant you put a disc into pc to back up drive's content or do it on memory sticks?

Det, on ebay you can buy a refurbished pc for well under £100 if you're willing to buy an earlier operating system then they are even less. Have a look, no charge :-D

Morning everyone :-)

The sun is shining and it is a lovely day, albeit rather chilly!!

DET, your OH is right about the oil being smoking hot!! The roast beef that R cooked was deliciously tender. He cooked it in a roasting tin with a lid and I think that helped to tenderise it. I might have to look for a smaller version :-)

You did very well with your Mother's Day presents too :-) :-)

I was really chuffed that R had been to the churchyard with flowers for his Gran. He adored her and is always very thoughtful when it comes to anniversaries, birthdays etc and he keeps the edging tidy for me now as well.

David, what a shame that HP can't provide a driver that you can install to use your printer with W10. I know printers are much cheaper now, but when you have one in perfect working order, it is not good that you have to scrap it because of updated software. Where is the consideration for environmental waste that is always being pressed home to us?

Morning. That is one reason I only fix things when they are broken ;-). I would be lost if printers etc would not work as I do reams of work on them.
WAKEY WAKEY YG :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D.
I have a huge bunch of flowers and more to come

Lol - you two must have posted at the same time :-D

The funny thing with the printer is that it was alright on Friday, but would only print in colour yesterday :-S
We don't print so much now-a-days which is a blessing, but when we (or in this case PC) want to, its a nuisance when it doesn't work.
David - even though we'd do the teeth-sucking bit, the cost of a new PC is acceptable. Its just the hassle which puts us off.

We had our water meter changed today - they were very quiet as we didn't hear them & I was up by 8. T'was only a card poking through the letter box that alerted us to the fact. Its a good thing I hadn't put anything White through the washing machine as the card said to run the cold tap until the water was clear. Actually, I don't think the water was discoloured at all.

:-D :-D :-D :-D. Nothing unusual there DET. Just finished coffee and natter with YAL so thinking about getting some of the project work printed off for tomorrow. No Belfry today as it is the Society talk this evening extra afternoon in the Belfry tomorrow to index a load of documents.

Mmm, it would be a good idea if they could tell you first, DET!

Tbh, if you were thinking of changing your PC I would go for new. We were stung badly when we bought what was supposedly a fully reconditioned one and it wasn't cheap. The software wasn't legit, as we found out when trying to update IE. He could do it by using something he had attached to his key fob and swore blind that it was all above board. Then we started having issues with the blue screen.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Mar 2016 10:49

Thats bad about the reconditoned Computer YG. We're putting it off for as long as possible. Despite what you might think, we do consider potential purchases carefully, especially if they are large amounts.

I have to 'sew the seeds' in OH's mind years in advance of fruition :-D

YG

YG Report 7 Mar 2016 11:06

lol DET :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

It sounds as though you need a bit of fertiliser to make the seeds sprout a bit quicker ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D :-D

He does sometimes surprise me, but then he may have been thinking about it himself.
Enjoy the rest LG and put your knee up while you can.

I have my legs up at the moment and they are feeling a lot better today :-D :-D :-D. It helped having an easy day yesterday and OH was grateful for the rest too. He has had a bit of bother with his back again so after going down the churchyard to do flowers we did diddly squat :-D :-D :-D

YG

YG Report 7 Mar 2016 11:27

That sounds good, LG :-) :-) That's what I was doing yesterday and this morning!! I must away though shortly and get on with the ironing :-( Yesterday threw my routine out :-D :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 7 Mar 2016 11:40

Same here. I will iron tomorrow as I am catching up with the washing today and refuse to get the iron out twice. Well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it ;-) :-D :-D :-D
