Have you been watching something in a regional dialect LG, or over-dosed on Coronation Street?? :-D
We've several spare pencil sharpeners if you need them.

Catch you tomorrow.

Nay lass :-D :-D :-D :-D. Were just talking 'bout Grandad earlier :-D :-D :-D. I might take you up on a sharpener I am forever putting them down and losing them.
See you tomorrow. <3

Good morning, sunny start to the day here.
All this inactivity and enforced bed rest is having it's affect on me.
I'm having to be asleep by 10pm wife's orders. I'm waking up at 3am then wanting to nod off again at 6 is that normal? Or am I lazy or jut showing my age?

Morning all

David - for a short answer - No idea!

Our sleeping patterns do change over the years but you aren't exactly 'old'. Unless there is a pressing need to be awake at a certain time, I'd be inclined to 'go with the flow'. Your brain and body knows how much down-time it needs. Its fine to have a snooze at the 'wrong time' of day. If we think back, our older relatives used to have an afternoon nap after lunch, just enough to re-power the batteries.

Wish we had the sun. Its another dull day but at least there wasn't any over-night rain. No doubt OH will have wall-to-wall Rugby on the TV this afternoon/early evening.

Afternoon everyone :-)

Come back well groomed and coloured after an earlyish start :-D :-D

A quick rest before heading off to do the never ending food shop, then I may tackle some more gardening :-) It is a lovely spring day here, although it will turn very chilly around 4ish.

Errrrrr, DET: Corrie is Lancashire, not Yorkshire!! Are you trying to start another battle of the Roses :-D :-D :-D :-D

David

David Report 12 Mar 2016 12:17

They say it was the war of the roses caused Henry V1''s nervous braeakdown :-(

History never was my favourite at school, David!!

David

David Report 12 Mar 2016 13:00

I never was good at any thing. I learned to read ,write and count.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 12 Mar 2016 14:24

Just shows how much I know about Corrie. Its 'oop norf' and that's about it ;-)

Did he have a nervous break-dpwn? Well, you learn something new every day. You don't need to go back to school or formal education to learn something new. As long as you can read, the world is your oyster. I keep suggesting to OH that he does an A level or degree through the OU, but he chickens out

We've had a little potter in the garden; gentle weeding + pruning & OH pollared the Walnut. I tidied it away as he's now settled in front of the Rugby.

David

David Report 12 Mar 2016 14:46

Quite frankly Det I don't know. It's what I have read on a few occasions. (HenryV1)
Being able to read is a wonderful privilege, better still being able to understand.
I applied to the OU in 1984. Within weeks I changed my mind. What a waste.
I had the ability but lacked discipline.
Now if you have access to the web you can google most things. Putting it into context requires a bit of thought.
Spread sheets are a thing the younger generation couldn't do without

Afternoon all, it's lovely here so I have been out in the garden and done a bit. Worst job has been clearing some of the weed out of our pond YUK. Spring must be on it's way as the frogs are starting to spawn.

YG

YG Report 12 Mar 2016 16:56

Evening everyone :-)

It seems that the first spring like day has drawn us all out into the garden :-D :-D A bit of gentle lawn edging, weeding and pruning for me. I didn't have much time left when I got home from the supermarket. The grass cutting will have to wait now until I am on leave as it is being treated on Monday and should not be cut 3 days before or after. Now all I need to do is hope that we get some dry weather and although it forecast for this week, forecasters are threatening the coldest ever Easter with snow, so not looking good :-( :-(

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 12 Mar 2016 17:07

Evening YG. Not so gentle in the garden for me. Besides sorting the pond I have cut down a huge Jasmine which had taken over :-D :-D :-D. I am now sitting with my feet up as I am cream crackered

YG

YG Report 12 Mar 2016 17:26

Well done, LG :-) :-)

I am going to have a good go at it tomorrow, hopefully. I need to arrange to have the paths jet washed, but I think I will wait until the weather is better, otherwise they will be turning green again!! The grass looks dreadful, there's loads of moss in it :-( :-(

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 12 Mar 2016 17:31

My grass is always awful as we have loads of builders rubble buried under it. I have tried everything to improve it but I have now given up

YG

YG Report 12 Mar 2016 18:20

I think the only alternative to mine is to have it all rotavated and new grass laid, but it would be too expensive. It has four treatments per year, one each season at a cost of £24 each time and although it is virtually weed free, there is still loads of awful grass strains in it. Hopefully the moss will be sorted following this treatment and once the weather warms up, it will finish it off.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 12 Mar 2016 18:38

I tried everything even 2 new lawns. Still is bloomin awful so I give up

YG

YG Report 12 Mar 2016 18:56

I think we both need to resort to artificial grass, LG :-D :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 12 Mar 2016 19:02

I had considered that. Not quite the same though as OH likes the daisies that grow in it :-D :-D

YG

YG Report 12 Mar 2016 19:20

lol, LG :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
