A very old rock chick :-D :-D You said it, LG :-D :-D :-D Just saying >>>>>>>>>>>

DET, are you bunged up with cold or just going deaf in your dotage like me :-D :-D :-D

I hope your OH gets the wood delivery on Monday or he won't be a happy chappy :-0 :-0

Maz, lob a scone over here please!! I do like home made scones :-) I am having sausage, veg and yorkies tonight and I am attempting to make the yorkies myself instead of cheating. If R can make a good job of them, then I should be able to!! I used to but lost the knack with the fan oven. I'll let you know later :-D

David, you are going on the naughty step because you have set LG off :-D :-D :-D

Shhhh Maz is trying to rest ;-)

Will you get disturbed by the local game tomorrow or are you far enough away from the Grounds? Good to hear you didn't try and over-do things today apart from cooking a meal. We're having a butterflied roast leg of lamb (yellow sticker!) while OH is overdosing on the Rugby. The left overs should stretch it to 2, possibly 3, days.

LOL well I am surprised, me being naught at my age

Maz dry the damp sheets on your radiators, or a clothes horse.

Haven't had a casserole in yonks,

Had a curry and chips heated in the micro wave earlier. Got a Muller rice for later

In the lunch time post I received teo letters from DVLA. The first said I'd been checked out and I'm fit to drive, I will receive my license within 16 days.
The other one THANK GOD contained my driver's license :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

YG

YG Report 19 Mar 2016 18:23

Well done, David :-) :-) :-) :-) A huge worry off your shoulders now and you can relax and get back out on the road. It is a good feeling knowing that you still have your licence, isn't it :-) :-) :-)

YG Report 19 Mar 2016 18:43

DET, sorry I missed you there :-)

I bought a small joint of gammon last week and roasted it. It was lovely and I got 3 meals out of it. I forgot to get another one today, so I will do so next week :-)

David

David Report 19 Mar 2016 18:58

It's a lovely feeling YG, not as good as that summer afternoon when a certain Mister Norris, driving examiner said I'd passed my driving test (second attempt) :-D :-D :-D

David

David Report 19 Mar 2016 19:01

I think I will ask the experts
what's the difference between pork and gammon and bacon?

YG

YG Report 19 Mar 2016 19:28

Gammon and bacon are cured, whereas pork is the fresh meat, David :-) Gammon is cut from the hind leg, whereas bacon can come from any part of the animal.

I often had a walk through The Grainger Market Newcastle T&W
There are several butchers in there, Not surprisingly there's always a pig being chopped up. You can buy as much or as little as you want. You can buy the trotters or the head or half a head, or just the nose. I think the only part of the beast they don't sell is the squeak. ;-)

YG

YG Report 19 Mar 2016 20:43

You might be right there, David :-D

My mother used to buy brawn from a specialist pork butcher when I was a nipper!! I could eat it, but wasn't crazy about it. I never see it in the shops now, or haslet either.

Morning all

That's fantastic news, David :-D
Auto-trader is going to be your new best friend unless you intend to buy New. I do hope you'll soon find a vehicle that suits your needs.

How did the Yorkshires work out YG? Did they rise? It must be difficult working out the proportions for such a small quantity.

My hearing loss is a combination of age, a malformed ear and a build up of natural secretions. I think I've managed to clear one, now to try the other which has mild tintanitus! I've asked if we can buy a sound bar for the TV, but himself says we can put the sound through the hifi system. Why do flat screen TVs pump the sound out of the back??
He thinks hearing aids would help; its not sufficiently bad for those.

F1 highlights on today. If I tell him who won, do think he'll give it a miss?

Hope your OH got home safely LG. Any more silverware for the Drivers missus to dust?

Well Det, to accommodate the gammy leg I was seriously thinking of an ex London cab the TX1
They have to be sold after 15 years, the rules. During those 15 years a working cad is serviced every six months and is usually one owner.
I saw such an item for sale online recently £1600.00
2 litre diesel automatic. A car like that would grab attention.
It is very functional and affordable :-D

David

David Report 20 Mar 2016 11:09

Rather than buy new Det there are some very good deals leasing.

Morning everyone on this lovely first day of the spring equinox :-D :-D :-D

The sky is blue and the yellow orb is in the sky, so looking good for a bit of grass cutting :-D :-D

DET, the yorkies were well risen and delicious!! I made half the quantity, which was enough for 4 individual ones. I made the batter and let it rest in the fridge for 45 minutes.

Just a bit of ironing to do, whilst waiting for my 'man' to arrive for car valeting and then the garden will call :-D :-D

I have already been out to get fingers and toes painted so am organised today :-D :-D
