That's good to hear, Maz :-) I hope you will be much more comfortable when you get them.

LaGooner Report 24 Mar 2016 19:59

You will certainly notice a difference Maz. I laughed to myself when Podiatrist said I would stop having trouble with both my knee and ankle with insoles. I am not laughing now as I get very little trouble with them .The right ones that is the left knee still gives me loads of pain and hoping the consultant tries to get it sorted when I see him in May.

A very good friend of my wife, a woman she worked with many years ago had bandy legs, yet she could ride a bike to work.
Her knees worsened and she eventually had both knees replaced.
She now more of a cripple than she was before the operations. One of her legs is shorter than the other and walking in this unbalanced way has done her hip in.
She wouldn't contemplate further surgery, she's now in her eighties :-S

I have had one knee replacement which is now ok. It took 14 months to heal and work properly but now the left one is getting towards being bad enough to do. My friend has not been so lucky as she still has loads of trouble with her new joint.

Morning all

All this talk of knee replacements that have gone wrong. You'll end up scaring yourselves!

Lovely and sunny at the moment. Pity it's likely to rain later. We cheated and had our first Hot X Buns of the year last night. They were worth waiting for ;-)

LaGooner Report 25 Mar 2016 09:23

Morning DET we were both typing the same time. It's usually me and YG doing that. :-D :-D :-D.

Not scaring myself DET I can't wait to get it done. I don't believe the pain and trouble I have now can be any worse :-D :-D :-D

Morning LG

Sorry, didn't check after if someone else had posted. How rude!
My Cousin in her 80s had no end of problems with her replacement. One leg is now 4" shorter than the other and won't bear her (excessive) weight. For all intents and purposes, she's wheelchair bound.
On the other hand, my grandad was one if the first generation to have it done back in the 70s. It changed his life for the better :-D

Any plans today or this weekend?

LaGooner Report 25 Mar 2016 09:52

Oh is working this morning so depending what time he finishes we may get the food shop in. Other than that no plans for this weekend as yet. What about you

We're having a last minute get together with the family, or at least someone of them. Not quite sure who will be going. Late lunch or early dinner @ 4pm at a local pub.

LaGooner Report 25 Mar 2016 10:14

That sounds good to me DET. We will visit our lad for a little while tomorrow as it is his birthday and that's probably my excitement for the weekend :-D :-D

YG Report 25 Mar 2016 10:18

Morning everyone :-)

Happy Easter :-) :-) :-) :-)

The sun is shining and it is lovely here. A day of pottering in the garden to finish off some weeding and edging. The aubretia is just starting to flower so there will be a good display of colour soon!

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 25 Mar 2016 10:31

Sounds as if you both have a busy day planned. Hope it stays dry for you YG. It's an exciting time of year in the garden, watching flowers and shrubs begin to wake up.
I'm still waiting for the fuschia to get going before it gets a heavy prune!

Happy Birthday for LGs little boy tomorrow. Does he feel 'old' yet? ;-) :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 25 Mar 2016 10:38

Definitely DET he will be exactly half my age tomorrow :-D :-D :-D. Well when I have my next birthday that is.

I am just going to have another caffeine kick and then upwards and onwards

YG

YG Report 25 Mar 2016 10:45

I have just had a look at the fuschias in the border. They are not the shrub variety, but are uprights with the doubles flowers and I leave them in year after year and let them die back. They are just beginning to bud at the base of the dead wood, so they are going to be ok again this year!!

I need to get something to fill in the borders to add some colour, but am tiring a bit of pansies, so will wait for summer bedding plants.

It is supposed to dry all day today, although clouding over this afternoon, so I had better get my backside in gear :-D :-D :-D

LG, I love little lambs <3 <3 <3 <3 Unfortunately, some piece of 'so called' human has shot several on a farmers field a couple of miles from here and he had to have another two put to sleep because of their injuries. They are total morons and I can't think why someone would just want to kill them and leave them lying there :-( :-( :-(

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 25 Mar 2016 10:52

Oh how awful YG. There are some really ignorant and hateful morons in this world. Take a look on Prickly Holly's thread and see how cute these are <3 <3 <3.
