He must have been disturbed when the fuschia got a trim last week ;-)

It sounds as if your maintenance plan is paying off Maz. YG, at least you dont have to phone umpteen plumbers before you can find one who wil come out.

LG, we had the thunder shortly before 7. OH had gone down to the Chinese. As he came out of the shop...flash, bang and downpour. He was not a happy bunny!

Oh dear - hope the insurance co doesn't raise your premiums when its due.

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 4 Apr 2016 14:37

afternoon well all
the heating issues are fixed i expect the premium will go up anyway ,the brand of boiler that was installed is not a good one apparently and some of the parts are obsolete now so if it continues to be an issue in the future it will need replacing ,It was the in brand though when it was installed and done under a warm homes grant many moons ago ,

Built in obseleaece I think it's referred to. As the efficiency of your boiler diminishes, at the time spare parts are most needed, they are not available. So it costs more to keep it running until it is no longer cost effective. Then you have to consider a replacement boiler, no choice. It's good that your insurance will cover these costs but they cover their tail by increasing your premiums. Good job the value of money went down.

hello David that is how to get a good deal apparently there is engineers discretionary payment as well as the scrappage deal so it will be worth pursuing.
My Washing is drying as the weather has cleared up quite a lot thankfully

Evening everyone :-)

Good to hear that the boiler is fixed, Maz :-) :-) I phoned to try to reschedule my annual gas check which is set for Saturday, but their systems are down at the moment so I have to phone back tomorrow :-( I also need to report the other repairs, but there will be an issue in finding a suitable day and time when they can come.

R has text me to say that he has a prolapsed disc in his back and is seeing a consultant in Sheffield on Saturday morning to see whether surgery is required, so we are off on the shopping trip of the century to get my outfit for the RGP at the same time :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 Oooh 'eck, this is going to cost me :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D Let's hope I can reschedule the gas servicing on Saturday :-D :-D
