My goodness, what a long day you've had and such a successful outcome. You even managed to get the major accessesories!

Poor R - is he able to have anything for the pain until such time as it can be 'fixed'?

Good to hear you're home Maz. If you had enough energy for a bit of gardening, you must have had a decent night's sleep <3

Did your horse win David???????

Naught on TV - OH has decided to watch the golf......all 4 hours of it :-\

YG Report 9 Apr 2016 20:55

R has to go back for an MRI scan, probably about two weeks, unless they get a cancellation. The consultant says that depending on the result, it could be injections or surgery and as he thinks it is quite serious because his foot is going numb, it is likely to be surgery. R has tablets from the gp and the consultant has told him to keep taking them and has also given him anti inflammatories (ironically, the same as I am taking for my bad foot!). We just have to hope now that the tablets kick in and keep him reasonably comfortable for us to get to London and that he doesn't insist on him having surgery as soon as they can fit him in when he returns from leave on 28th April. It may finish up with us having to cancel :-(

Welll - his heath comes first. There's no point delaying any recommendations if it would lead to a permanent disability. If it came to it, would you be able to substitute someone else's name to accompany you?

YG

YG Report 9 Apr 2016 21:09

No, you can't change anything once you have submitted the forms, and that was done back in November. The consultant is away for the next two weeks, but said he would it pass it another colleague if it was serious, otherwise he will see R again after 28th, so it may be possible to wait until after 10th. Fingers and everything else crossed :-0 :-0

Morning everyone :-)

A lovely, bright sunny morning here, so need to get myself motivated and off to do the food shop and then hopefully if the grass dries out enough, I might attempt to cut the grass this afternoon.

Not sure what the dinner menu is for today!! :-D

I didn't have a bet, but OH backed a horse that's still running :-D

Beautiful sunny day here.

Morning all

Bad luck for your wife, David but then there's only one winner. No harm done as long as she didn't bet the family silver ;-)

Hope you manage to pick up a treat for your evening meal YG, or are you on bread and dripping for a few months??

I must admit our grass needs cutting again after he'd 'feed & weed' it. Although I'd intended hanging out the washing, it could go indoors. Decisions, decisions.

Have a good day.

Do you remember a famous top race horse that was stolen?
You couldn't breed from it, might as well free it or make pies.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 10 Apr 2016 15:44

Hello, goodbye LG :-D

Did you manage to get your shopping done YG? How about the grass?
We've popped into town for a few bits, much against my principles. Sometimes needs must. Straight there, straight back and not even a coffee and a bun.
Strange as I'm happy to go to a garden centre on a Sunday but try to avoid other retail outlets. It might be different if we both worked full time or shifts.

YG

YG Report 10 Apr 2016 18:04

I just went to the local garage that has a Tes** Extra. The grass didn't get done! It had started to cloud over when I got back and was bit chilly!! A thick jumper would have solved the problem, but I decided on an easy day after yesterday :-D :-D

The truth is that the grass is full of moss and other horrible grass at the moment and it doesn't motivate me to cut it. The specialist treatments don't seem to be touching the moss and there is too much for me to rake. I might finish up buying some moss killer, but the last time I did it, I didn't spread it very evenly and water it enough and had some black patched for quite a while :-| :-|

I'm not keen on retail on Sundays, but like you, I do like a mooch round the garden centres :-D :-D

evening all
YG my grass is being treated at the moment to see if it will clear the monthly fee was cheaper than new turf so giving it a go .it was done thursday and the weeds are curling up well the moss will take longer though

David

David Report 10 Apr 2016 20:25

I haven't mowed my lawn for over 3 years. There's a man in the next street does it every other week. Also does wife's shopping.

YG

YG Report 10 Apr 2016 20:30

Evening Maz and David

Maz, I have mine treated every season with fertiliser and weed killer. The weeds aren't a problem. I had it scarified about 3 years ago, but although they took 10 bags of thatch out, it really just seems to get worse year on year. It is such a big area that I can't afford to have it rotovated and new turf laid. It would cost a fortune.
