Morning all

Are you 'straight' yet LG? You must have piles of bedding to get washed.
Did you manage to get much sleep? Bet you can't wait until you get a new joint.

We're out this afternoon to play with 'Hawks' etc. OH had a 'falconry experience' gift the offspring for his midwinter present. The camera is now on charge. ;-)
It'll be a good day for it: clear skies and mild.

Have a good day.

David

Ellen was crippled with pain before getting her knees done, but now she's over the moon with the new ones. They've took 30 years off her. :-D :-D

That's real heartwarming David. :-)

So where is everyone? Are you hibernating?

We had an 'interesting' day.
It started with me forgetting to put my shoes on before we set off in the car. Thank goodness my walking shoes were in the boot. Fluffy slippers wouldn't go with my ensemble!
The sat nav took us through all sorts of villages, most of which had only been a name on a map. To a certain extent it was walking in ancestors footsteps, both the ag labs & the brickmakers.
The venue certainly surprised us; it was beautiful. An immaculate estate with spring flowers, trees as well as ewes with their new born lambs.
There were only one other couple in our group. The males had about 30 mins 'flying time' before it began to rain. We and the all-day group beat a hasty retreat back to the aviary. As the rain got heavier, the Falconers suggested we took refuge in the tea rooms. The rain turned to torrential hail stones complete with thunder and lightening as the storm passed over head! The ground was so white, you might have thought it had been snowing.
It was decided to abort the session and that they'd arrange another day for us.

The drive home was an adventure in itself as there was so much water running off the fields. 5 miles away and the roads were dry!

So that's us. What have you been up to?

Evening everyone :-)

I'm here, DET, but just been tucking into fish'chips :-D

It sounds as though you had a good day, weather aside!! No change in how the week is progressing, going out in fluffy slippers ;-) ;-) :-D :-D It is the 13th as well today ;-) ;-)

LG, have you recovered yet!! Is there still glitter everywhere or have you managed to vacuum it all up :-D

Maz, keep the horrible weather up there please :-D :-D

Evening YG. It is all clean again but I am missing them and their mess already. Had a chat to bigger two earlier on which made me feel worse :-(

Det, a neighbour of mine took a photograph of me which he's putting into his PC to print off and will bring it over tomorrow morning, then I can get those docs back to the Civic Centre

Plumber's coming to service the boiler tomorrow morning. Will ask him to check the loo while he's here. Becoming "blocked" far more often than is common. Will get him to check outside soil pipe for obstructions.

I know, LG :-) I used to miss mine dreadfully when I lived in Zambia. I didn't see V for almost 3 years. Are you able to talk to them on Skype or FaceTime?

Evening David :-) I hope the plumber does a good job tomorrow ;-)

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 13 Apr 2016 20:51

I only use the phone as seeing them upsets me too much. OH skypes them as he prefers that to phone.

That sounds like one step closer to driving David.
How strange about the loo. TBH, we keep an old fire poker next to one of ours to deal with blockages. If there’s nothing wrong with your drains, perhaps the plumber will suggest a contraption to break up the solids? They are advertised for use when fitting loos where there isn’t a direct route to the sewers.

Maz – your work-outing to the farm shop sounds good. Did the clients enjoy seeing the young kid?

Ah Bless LG. It must be hard when you can’t hold them close to you. Mind you, they do say absence makes the heart fonder. Once OH retires you can take off when ever you fancy! It can’t help your state of mind when you are tired and in pain.

When we told the parents we were moving from Kent to Berkshire, MiL burst into tears, while my mum was pleased she’d have somewhere new to visit!
We were sad when Eldest & co went to California but certainly wouldn’t have stood in their way. With the magic of technology, we used to chat face-to-face about once a week. We also had a tour of their home as they carried the laptop from room to room!
It must have been harder for YG as that technology wasn’t in place when she was abroad.
