No Frank.... I'm not still asleep lol. Another really bad night and to top it the twins crept into my bed at 5am and crying their eyes out. They said they didn't want to go to school as they didn't have a mummy. After lots of cuddles they went off with BIL and were ok when he left them. BIL is now having a nap. The vicar just called to sort out funeral arrangements (Mon) and as a cosequence he's emotionally exhausted. SIL's family are Dutch and not all of them speak English very well. So... some of the service will be in English and some in Dutch. Her parents have asked that we greet people at the cemetry in the 'Dutch' way. Two dutch cousins will hand each person a flower, to be placed on the coffin at the end of the service -just before the coffin disappears behind the curtain. Apparently close family will rise first and go to the coffin - place a flower and then place a hand on the coffin. They will then say goodbye. Then everyone in turn will place their flower and do the same.... It's all new to me, I must say. I've been asked to play the violin and a pianist friend is going to accompany me - a compilation of all Nicky's favourites. Everything from Bach to 'Lady in Red'. I'm going to find that very difficult. |
