Thank goodness it's cooling a bit now. I've opened a few windows and there is a slight breeze coming through with cooler air.
I don't think the tv I use in the bedroom is smart but it does the same as yours Mandy.
Mel, it was good you knew whose field it was so you could ring and let them know about the tree. It could have caused an accident and a wrecked car or other vehicle as well. Round here younger people seem to drive at the top of the speed limit or faster.
I keep forgetting to ask you if you have any baby goldfish this year or baby Koi?
I can hear a Blackbird singing, so am going to see if I can see it. I haven't seen one round here for ages.

Mel thats good you've got the tick sorted and you've done your good deed for the day with telling the people about the tree it could have caused a nasty accident . I thought that the BBC iplayer was just for bbc programmes so I don't understand how you can get u drama on it . I thought you could record with the smart tv's and pause and rewind a programme on it ,we can do that on our TV and its not a smart TV.
Oh it's been so hot ,we've been in most of the day with the fan going ,we sat out and had coffee this morning but that was early and with the little bit of a breeze it was lovely ,we'll go out later and water and sit out again until nearly dark

Afternoon All,
First Happy Birthday to the rellies of those who have their birthday today!
Well it's been 30 degrees here now according to the PC and it certainly feels it outside. OH said it was 35 degrees outside according to the car. The plants I put in the front wall pots are frazzled, despite me watering them so they will have to go in the garden bin. I have a few red little Begonias left so I might try those in the pots as they should stand more heat. I was up a bit later at 7.30am this morning after dreaming I had let OH's car roll into our new garage door. I was puzzling how it had happened in my dream as the drive slopes down from the garage when I woke up. I went outside and watered everything I had planted recently and topped up the water feature pot with the poor lily as it was half empty. I pulled yet more weeds then moved in the shade by the fence and cut off all the regrowth on an Acer that was cut down a few years ago. The garden bin is about half ull now. I wanted to make a way in next to the neighbour's fence to get to the Holly as it is too tall now and a few bits are also straying over Jane;'s fence and need shortening. It's a job for another day as I was back inside within half an hour.
Otherwise I did some admin, got rid of more spam emails while OH had an appointment at the docs. We then popped to the shop, got some Solero lollies as well as a few bits and came home and had a tuna jacket potato with salad and OH had cardio rehab. At least it was cool there with the aircon. I have boxed up almost everything off the surfaces in the bedroom ready for the workmen and will do the same in the hall and get the pictures down where they will be walking, the same with the front porch. I shall move my chinese vase I was so lucky to replace too. I must admit the bedroom looks nice and easy to dust now! :-D
Mandy thanks for the mention and I've just gone and recorded it and will see what it's like. Yes, OH and I were saying the other day how glad we were not to be working at our desks in the office now with this heat. In the heatwave of 1976, the managers bought us all icecreams.
I see you got some sorting of your clothes done AnnG and a few other jobs done. You are right about the heat zapping your energy though.
Mel that's good you noticed and got rid of the tick quickly. There seems to be more of them these days and there warning signs in one of our deerparks. I still don't understand how you can record the U channels to the BBC iplayer. I thought the iplayer just held recordings that were already there and you couldn't add to them yourself. It's good Ed helped you anyway.

I forgot to say on the way home just before the X road where I turn right there was somethiing in the road it looked like an old brown coat but as I got nearer it was a dead tree which had fallen and smashed on the road. I know who owns the field so drove into my gateway and rang Pat. She said she would tell he son and he'd go and see to it. It was half way across the road and a lorry could'nt have got through. It had broken about a foot from the ground and it was only half of a biggish tree all rotton at the bottom. I should have taken a pic but in my panic to get the road cleared I forgot.

Just back from the docs and the nurse had a good look at it and asked if she could scrape it with a needle and I said yes. Just the usual if I feel fluy symptoms go back to the docs. The only thing I have had is achey fingers but that may be nothing to do with it.
The last post I typed at 2.54pm and when I went to post it I got the error page.

It is 27 degrees here now, it zaps your energy and, even if I did have things do to I would not have the energy to do them I have filled bird baths, Not that there are many birds around. Just seen a solitary blackbird, but I thought the birs will be looking for water and the heat dries the bird baths up. I have also cleared the airing cupboard and put all the clothes away and sorted winter sweater to the top rail of wardrobe and short sleeved tops to the lower rail. I have also renewed my driving licence on line. Just because I am not driving doesn't mean I can't if I want to and it is good ID. I am not renewing my passport which expires next month. I have no plans to go abroad.

The reason I didn't/don't understand Mel is, if I want to watch something that is on when I am out or doing something else, I just record it to watch later. I don't need Iplayer for that.

Morning girls,
Happy birthday to all the rellies that have birthdays today and I am sure they will all have a wonderful day.
The suns shining and its 21 degrees and its going to be mostly sunny so not much being done here today but I have to cook a dinner for tonight as Stu's coming.
Rang the doc's and have an appointment with the nurse at 3.20pm to take this little blighter off my hand. Thats the trouble with having the deer foxes and rabbits in the garden and also having long grass in places.
I don't think you all understand about the telly. I can get the U channels on my telly I wanted the iplayer for those channels so I can watch the programs later than they are on the actual telly. Sometimes I am out in the garden till way past the time the programs are on I wish to see and as it was free I downloaded it to the pc but did'nt understand how to get it on the big telly. I did a bit of exploring and mucked up the programs on the telly but think I found what I was looking for. Anyway Em's hubby came last night and between us we got it sorted found the cods and put it in and I gave him a dozen eggs for his trouble. They are such a lovely couple and would do anything for me within reason. Last night I watched the first episode of Lovejoy and a bit of the next one. I could'nt believe how young Phyllis Logan was in it as Lady Jane. Tonight I am going to watch the new one on Channel 5 too and no I hav'nt seen Reuben yet either.

Ann I have recorded Reuben and the Greens so haven't seen it yet ,there's a crime drama on channel 5 tonight I might record it has Phyllis Logan in she played the house keeper in Downton ,don't know what it's going to be like she plays a newspaper puzzle writer and helps the police with a murder .
Keep cool everyone and stay out of that hot sun ,goodness it wasn't that long ago we were saying how cold it was .
Meant to say I tried to look at the posts last night and it said it was down for maintenance.

Good morning AnnG and all
It’s definitely going to be a hot day. Not yet 7.30 and it’s 18, feeling like 21 degrees. I had the fan going all night and I did get a bit of sleep but kept waking up. I haven’t got any plans for the day but I don’t think I’ll be doing much.
I was surprised about the U channels as well. I thought they were on all TVs as they are on Freeserve.
Happy birthday to your great granddaughter AnnG and to my eldest granddaughter and my step-grandson.

Good morning all sunny and 13 degrees at 0630 so another hot day. I am not planning on going anywhere. except for watering the pots and baskets in the two houses.
I do need to iron the new duvet cover, I am not looking forward to that, or to changing the covers over when done.
It is my Great Granddaughter's 9th birthday today so happy birthday to her.
I had not realised that some people can't automatically get U and Drama on the TV It is automatically in my V Media pakage so never though about it.

Ed came round and I am up and running on the tv now with the U channels.
Felt sore on my left hand at the base of my thumb and thought it was a rose thorn cut but on looking at it I think it may be another tiny tick so I will ring the docs in the morning to see if the nurse can take a look and if it is she will remove it for me.

That was good AnnG. I bet a lot of people wouldn't think to do that. See I'm up later than I told you tonight! I'd made a mistake on one of my spreadsheets and it's taken till now to find it. I would have lain awake thinking about it if I hadn't sorted it!

Neither I nor OH could get into our emails when he got home but everything seems to be alright again now. I've had a load of spam emails and two spam phone calls this afternoon.
I would hate dealing with the dead pigeon too AnnG. I think we are supposed to use gloves with all the bird flu still being about, but I wouldn't even want to touch it and I used to breed Canaries and never minded handling those or picking live chickens up that mum and dad had..
Mel after Mandy mentioned Sky having U&Drama I had a look and found a few other of the U channels on there too. One thing I want to watch is The Miniaturist. It has a Dolls house in it, but isn't about making Dolls' houses.
Did you watch Reuben Mandy? I was surpried they found what they did being actually inside the house. I won't say more in case you haven't watched it yet. Another lovely rabbit finished then! Yours seem to be multiplying like the real ones now! They are beautiful and beautifully made though and it must be interesting using different colours for those detailed clothes they have. The spray seemed to come out fine, but obviosly from the shape of it wasn't where you should press it.The lid has a dented in bit that looks as if you should press it there, but it won't move. two thin plastic bits each side of the button look as if they should break the firsty time you use it, but they probably need Charles Atlas to do it. The first thing I just saw on the label is ' For indoor use only'. I have something I used for the miner bees we were infested with in the garden a few years ago, but I'm blowed if I know where it is! The brilliant white Polyfilla I have might stand out.
It's good the gardener came and did a few jobs Vera and that the builder turned up with materials. The poor man must feel overwhelmed with what's going on in his life just now.
It's reached 27 degrees here according to the PC so I think it could be a really uncomfortable tonight like it has been for some. My hot water bottle is in the fridge with cold water in it, but I should have done it earlier.

Thaat one seems fine Mandy but I did have the messages come up and no avatars early today and at times yesterday.
Done a bit of sweeping in the garden and got very hot so came in the kitchen in the cool and had a sit down.
Annx there are some good programs on U & Drama old one some of them but so long ago I don't mind watching them again.I want to see this Outrageous and the Miss Fisher murder mysterys and I shall watch Lovejoy again. That should keep me quiet for a while but I do tend to binge watch things as I can't wait to see what hapens next and then I fall asleep and have to go back to a bit in the program I remember the next day.
I have heard the chain saw going out the front again this morning so I am going up to get my box and have a nosey.
Just thought I wonder if I have it on my ipad????
