Still here :-D :-D.We decided to have Fish and Chips before we set off,and now I feel stuffed and a bit sick lol .I haven't done my nails yet but I'll do them tonight at the Hotel .
So I reckon we will be off by 3 at the latest.I am staying clear of the Gondolas so no fear of me toppling in head first :-S.There is the bit of getting down into the Taxi Boat but the man will give a hand down then getting out again .I hate that bit as it can be a bit awkward ,and I always think I must look a right twit .

Ooh Mel ,OH being a bit frisky then is he ;-) ;-)

Mandy I forgot to say what a beautiful Sunset you had the other night. :-D

I will probably nip in here this evening while I still get the chance from Birmingham.
Now i better turn this blooming laptop off otherwise we will never get moving

Afternoon all,

Funny old day here ,suns out one minute then it clouds over ,still mild though.

Went to the car boot this morning ,bought four trays of Violas and a couple of hardy Cyclamen so i have been busy getting them potted up, the flowers in the pots were getting a bit past their best so they look much better now.
I have put all the Fuschia's in one of those big tubs ,they will go in the shed for the winter and hopefully come on again in the spring .

I saw the little Pandas on the news ,sweet little things ,tiny ones an some a little bigger .

Did any of the sawdust from next door mess the gate up Ann ?although that Ham*erite paint does look a bit bitty so it might not look too bad .
Somerset Pork that sounds nice i think i would like it with the apples ,might give that a go some time .

Well Mel i suppose OH has to exercise his hand some how !! ;-) ;-) :-D :-D

What time are you off then Jane ? have a good time and FGS don't go falling out of the Gondolas !!!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Well todays the day Jane are you all ready for the off? Have a lovely time and enjoy every minuet of it. The water taxi sounds great fun but what a long journey.

Suns out today and the washing is on the line so I may get another load in.

Oh is practicing with his hand by trying to pinch my bottom!! He never usually does that!! I think it may have gone to his head!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-S

That shock from the lamp should shake Fitz up to getting them all looked at. He was a lucky chap. I take it the lamp was metal and did'nt break as he threw it across the room. He was lucky it did'nt hit anything breakable.

WROTE THIS AGES AGO AND FORGOT TO POST IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning and Evening,

Well, the fog's moved here today!! OH is outside painting the trellis....2 more panels to go but it has smartened it all up. I have decided to cook today so am doing somerset pork we love. I'm preparing the pork first with onion, mushrooms, sliced apple, cider and creme fraiche. Then I can just pop the runners, broc and cabbage on later and it will be ready in 15 mins. :-) I need to painting the gatepost and hinges as well.

Jane I would be the same......racking my brains for anything I might have forgotten and doing little jobs to leave things straight at home!! I hope Chris isn't getting in the way or making unhelpful comments like my OH would!! Hope you have a lovely time. :-D :-D

Did you see the baby pandas on the news, 15 of them.

Annx

Annx Report 24 Sep 2013 21:48

Thanks for sending them Mandy. :-D They are lovely pics. Strange how the buildings are balanced on bricks and the Okra flowers are nice enough to have in the flower borders. The cotton must be dazzling when most of it pops.

I got the paint this morning......saw the price and got a small pot......should just about do it nicely. I also got a replacement energy bulb for the study. Bigger wattage equivalent this time so I can see the holes in the beads better at night. :-) It took me about 2 hours to paint the gate, so fiddly with those scrolls of iron. I just need to do a bit at the bottom tomorrow lying down (getting back up should be fun!) and the post it closes to and it's all nice shiny black again. I'd just called it a day when the kitchen fitters turned up next door and let themselves in (the neighbours have been away the last couple of days and we thought the work was all finished.) Would you believe it they set up a saw on the front next to the fence (and gate) and started cutting stuff up! It was too dark to see properly but I just hope the paint was dry enough for any sawdust not to stick. :-S

The new printer isn't printing again so I'm boxing it up and they can have it back tomorrow. :-S I also have to go and see if they have my cardigan at the garden centre that I left on the back of a chair in their cafe the other day. I hope it hasn't been pinched. :-|

Just caught 8 Crane Flies and gently chucked them out the back door...How on earth do they suddenly appear in the house???? I just find them flying either close to the ceiling or near the floor...or just hanging on to something.I don't mind catching them in my hand, but no-one else will touch them :-S :-S

Mel you sound better than this morning :-D and have obviously enjoyed your Sheep S*it pie lol

Maureen ,yes it is Birmingham we fly from.We will stay in the Hotel and leave the car there for the week. It's really good that we can do that (only staying 1 night there).
I have just had a little cleaning frenzy take over me,and have cleaned all the surfaces, window sill ,shelves etc in the kitchen. So that is one job less to do tomorrow :-D
Chris has gone off to bed,and James has gone to pick up Jess from the station.
I feel totally bushed tonight so it won't be long before I am off.
I will pop in here a couple of times tomorrow before we leave. But I need to be focused in the morning and get everything else sorted that I need to take with me.
I also need to buy some ziplock plastic bags to put 'liquid' things in (no more than100ml) ready for the airport check.

Night Night x

Hope you both have a great time Jane and that the weather is warm and dry, but not hot! Looking forward to seeing some pics on your return. :-D

Good decision on your knee Frank.....you can always cancel as you say. At least this way you are in the queue. :-) Poor Ros, you'll be eating 'humble pie' for a week at this rate!!

Can someone please send me Ruby's pics.....I don't seem to have got them. :-)

I bet you sleep well tonight Mel........I think the others are right, tension does make you ache.......hope he's being a good patient! :-)

Oh yes, forgot about Fitz and the lamp! It's a good job his mum hadn't grabbed it like that to.....could have finished her off!! :-0

Don't know what time your off tomorrow but if i'am not about before you go have a great holiday both of you ,looking forward to seeing lots of photo's when you get back.

I blimmin well had to log in to put a post on here!! Mind you I am on a different server at the mo as I could'nt get on on the firefox one.

Had a lovely dinner and I did make a sheep sh*t pie with our carrots and runners. Nice cheesey top and it all went down very well.

Safe journey tomorrow Jane and Chris and I know you will enjoy it going to all the places you want to.

It is still so warm here and I have just been outside and been bitten by something between my neck and my shoulder. Day before yesterday it was behind my left knee.

Frank it is so annoying when you lose a large post and I have told you before to copy it when you have done a lot of typing then you don't have to do it all again.

Maureen Report 24 Sep 2013 17:13

I might have guessed it, been waiting for days for the sun to arrive and here it is today when I've had a whole day ironing.

Have a great holiday Jane shall be thinking of you tomorrow, did you say you were flying from Birmingham?

Yes I was thinking the same, could be stress and tension over OH's op Mel that has made you feel all achey. A good night's sleep tonight should do the trick.

Had a visit from son and family yesterday, Finley came in with his school uniform on, first day of school yesterday, he looked so grown up, when I asked him if he'd had a good time he just replied "of course".

Enjoyed reading your post Ruby, I could quite easily eat a box of chocolates or a packet of biscuits in just a couple of hours, that's why I don't buy any. I will look forward to seeing the photos when I'm up and running again.

That was a silly question from that doc Frank, makes sense to go on the list, you can always change your mind later.

That's a lot of fruit Mandy, I'm not a great fruit eater only really like kiwis so try and have two of those a day but I have been going down the garden and picking an apple each day from the tree. A lot have fallen so I've left those for the blackbirds, I'm so squeemish, I have to cut the apples into small pieces to make sure there are no maggots, I bought some figs the other day and cut one in half, there was this thing moving around, too thin to be a maggot, it looked like it was standing upright waving at me, yuuuukkkk. I threw all the figs away.

Jane

Jane Report 24 Sep 2013 16:38

So you are on the list then Frank .Sounds like that will be the answer doesn't it.Hopefully you can manage on your knee until the replacement.

Phewy it has turned out so hot now. It's beautiful. :-D
I think I have packed most of my things now.Just toilet bag to sort tomorrow and Kindle and Camera are being charged up right now.Chris has completed his packing and his suitcase is all strapped and labelled. If I hadn't spent 2 hours down a Fitz I would be much more organised :-S.He wanted me to look at a MASSIVE album of photos he has done of all his pics of Venice. While I was there we were discussing some of his Mothers old lamps that really need to be rewired. She has some beautiful old ones.Anyway he was just about to show me another one and when he picked it up he got a terrible electric shock from it.Through the palm of his hand right up to his shoulder. He yelled and threw the lamp across the room(frightened me to death). Then he felt faint :-0 :-0.Honestly he is a liability :-S :-S.But thank heavens it wasn't worse.I don't even like to think what might have happened.

Lamb Shanks for Chris and me tonight. With Mash Potato ,Broccoli,Asparagus, and whatever other veg is knocking around in the fridge that needs eating.James has the left over Roast Beef from Sunday which I have sliced and covered in loads of gravy.(He is not a Lamb lover).Jess arrives about 9.30 tonight.Think she might be here for about a week.I am going to leave her in charge of making sure my birds are fed and watered.Hopefully I can trust her to do that !

Mel maybe all that sitting around in the car yesterday plus maybe feeling a bit tense with OH having his op has made you feel all achey today.Hopefully you aren't going down with something.
I have a few bits on the line I need to get in especially the top I will wear tomorrow.

In the morning I want to do a bit of dusting and bathroom cleaning.........Chris gets quite cross lol when I start all that on the day we go away lol..But he should know what I'm like by now !!!

Fiona, I hope your OH hasn't too long a wait for another flight.I expect what he thought would be a quick and easy journey has turned into rather a long day :-S

I'll be back in a while

Afternoon all,

So that's where the sun has gone today, we've had cloud all day but it's not at all cold ,i've had the doors and windows open all day.

Got some nice Victoria plums from the market today ,i was going to stew them but i remembered i had some cooking apples in the shed so i stewed them instead ,hubby will like that for his pud tonight with some custard ,i will put a couple of plums in his lunch box tomorrow .
Then sister turned up with a carrier bag full of eating apples and pears !! i'd bought eating apples and nectarines off the market too !! all this fruit think i will have to pass some on to son for the little ones.

Thanks Ruby for the photo's ,oh that spider with all the zig zaggy web !! i've never heard of them before, the okra has a pretty flower .

Now Frank, calm down don't you be having a go at poor Ros :-( :-D i think you've done the best thing going on the list , as you say you can always cancel if your knee feels better .

I suppose you are having to help OH in lots of ways while he has his arm in the sling Mel, hope he hasn't got to much pain ,when sister had hers done a few months ago she said the hand was ok when she kept it still but painful when she moved it .

I can't seem to get going today at all. Don't seem to have any energy...................

Must think of something for dinner. Maybe a sheep sh*t pie as that will be easy for oh to eat. He said he could'nt get the top of the coffee jar this monring with his left hand!!

Sun is out here too Frank and it is quite warm. Shall have to go up the tunnel for some carrots and pick some beans.

Frank

Frank Report 24 Sep 2013 14:25

How wrong can you be. Everywhere is bathed in sunshine.

Ros got a line of whites (bedding) out this morning. Must be dry by now. She has been busy tidying the patio, pulled all the pots out and swept behind them, clean as a new pin now.!!!

I had a terrible night last night. Lost it a bit with Ros, and stormed off to bed. was still awake at 3.30 am. I don't think my knee enjoyed being pulled about yesterday. as today it's quite puffy. and aching.

I did manage to stand in the kitchen to do the veg for tonight's dinner, got Ros a sandwich and a cup of tea at lunchtime. I will have to get the washing up done soon, cups and plates everywhere !!!

I'm back down to bare chest and shorts May it last, another couple of weeks of this will be fine ;-) ;-) ;-)

Time for FORTY WINKS, me thinks !!!

Frank Report 24 Sep 2013 10:46

Morning my little Darlings,

Didn't get back on last night, as I felt so tired.

As we left yesterday to go to the hospital, a neighbour across the road called out "I've just bought a new SAW" I can operate anytime you want. :-P :-P

My appointment was 3.10 pm At 4.15 the nurse came into the waiting area to say the all appointments are running 45 minutes late, so I said "that means I should have been in there 5 minutes ago " When we finally went in. They left us 15 minutes before the "Doctor came in " He looked about 15 years old and really didn't seem to know what I had done. Off he went to see MR AULD and came back to say I would be put on the list for a replacement knee. BUT would I like to wait THREE MONTHS to see how it was progressing. I said NO. PUT ME ON THE LIST. If I feel better before the operation, I can always refuse it then. I DON'T want to waste another 3 months. Got out of there at 5.30 pm

Mel, If we got paid waiting time at these hospitals we would all be rich. Glad Oh had come through his op O.K.

I had a visit from the man from BEN (Motor trade benevolent fund) He calls every 6 months to see how I am. He has to go into hospital for gaul stones on the 10th Oct. He has been back and forward to A & E at all various times of night. I thought they would have operated as an emergency.

ONLY 92 days to CHRISTMAS. Come on you girls, start stocking up those cupboards. :-D :-D :-D :-D

Not long for the JOLLY HOLIDAY girls to set off. BEHAVE YOURSELVES.

Thick FOG here this morning also, they say we might get sun later, but I doubt it !!!

Ros did that S & K pie last night. The amount she put on my plate. I thought I was "Desperate DAN" Cleared most of it though. !! Back to a roast tonight, as we didn't have one SUNDAY>
