There is nothing worse than scrabbling about for the cleaning things Fiona. All mine is under the kitchen sink and to find things at the back I have to get on my knees :-S
I have actually got it organised now and bought some little plastic boxes to put things in.As for how long it will be before it is chaos again remains to be seen lol

Frank I would have quite liked to have been at the restaurant with you.I love Rubgy Players :-D.Yes i can imagine how loud they must have been especially if they had a few pints down them .Hope your knee is rested a bit now.Just don't do your usual thing and try and do too much :-| :-|

I think Fitz will be here shortly so I better rustle up a bit of lunch.

I .m not sure about tranquillisers for Chris Frank.I think a few glasses of wine would be the best think. He loosens up a bit then and and his tongue loosens too which is what is needed tonight.Normally he is the one that sits back and lets everyone else do the chatting. He won't be allowed to do that this evening :-D

Morning Everyone, Evening Kim

Glad you had a nice meal Frank, I'm not keen on Indian food, prefer Italian or a sweet & sour chicken,

I have been moaning to OH :-D now that he has finished with the outside building, could he PLEASE fix my big cupboard/larder/pantry what ever I call it, it needs the ceiling fixed, , and paint the walls a fresh coat of white paint, take out the old wood shelves, and put a light in.
we ordered a chrome shelving unit on line a couple of days ago, it came this morning :-D :-D
once the shelves are up I can put all my cleaning fluids, dusters, polish and other house hold items in so I can then find things the first time as at the moment I have to take everything of at the front to get to the bottles at the back :-|

Frank Report 20 Sep 2013 09:39

Morning LAZY BONES/Evening Kim.

As I said I stayed at home yesterday afternoon. I had a nice quiet afternoon watching an old war film "Appointment in London" RAF bomber squadron.

The "STAY OUTS" got back about 5.30 pm. I had decided. That as it was ROS's birthday, she wasn't going to stay in. So I told them to get themselves sorted as I would be taking them out again for a meal.
We ended up at the Indian in Oakham, Hardly anyone there at 7.30 pm and we got a window seat looking over the High street.

About 8.00 pm a RUGBY TEAM came in and took over a BIG table specially laid table down the centre of the restaurant Now, when you get 20 or so big blokes all talking to each other, it gets rather loud . They weren't content to talking to the person next to them, but shouting to the other end of the table.

It was good that we had had our starters, and the main course was just being served. We had them, paid and left them too it. It did rather spoil the evening, but the girls were tired from walking and "Window shopping" so it wasn't that bad.

I was in bed by 10.30 pm My leg was killing me. Not only the stairs at Conrads, but the restaurant is on the 1st floor, so had to climb up about 25 large steps, and down again, after a couple of pints of Indian beer !!!!

Poor little HOG. I can see he/she might be in "hospital" at Aunty Mel's for the winter.

Jane, you will need to give Chris a couple of tranquilizers to settle him down before his evening out tonight.

The neighbour next to Conrad is have an extention done. and at this very moment they have one of these BIG CRANES lifting and lowering things from his roof. I hope they know what they are doing, or I can see the whole lot coming down !!!

Clear blue sky's here with very little breeze. and I don't think we had any rain in the night. Could be the lawn will get cut later :-0 :-0 :-0

On my 4th cup of tea, and waiting for my cooked breakfast. so had better cleat the table.

Ann, Do hope things sort them selves out with the football club.

Morning/Evening All
What a lovely day.THe sun is out ,little fluffy white clouds bobbing in the sky and birdies singing :-D :-D..I think it could be a lunch in the garden today.

Chris got to work and found balloons and banner on his door lol

Ann I'm looking forward to your new creations .I wonder what you will be making :-D
Hope your back isn't too bad today.

Mel anything on the camera and any news on the limping hog?

Ann ,I think he will be hanging up anything Medical. He is weird tonight. All quiet and strange.I don't know quite what to talk about.Probably best not to try and start any conversation.I will just have to leave him to mull things over on his own.I know him so well lol.
Roll on Venice is what I say :-D :-D

Signing out now .It feels so much later than 9pm !!!!

Annx Report 19 Sep 2013 20:46

Got the printer sorted at last and have been told to go and ask P*World for a new set of inks for it as it used them all up sorting it out!! They said it had been sent out with old ink cartridges. Another job for tomorrow.

I hope the hog is ok Mel. At least it's good he is eating well.

Jane I told OH Chris wasn't looking forward to that speech at his leaving do. He said saying 'thankyous' is ok, it's when you have to fend off the rotten eggs when you are telling folk their office is closing and their jobs with it that it isn't so good!!

I remember when I retired it seemed weird to me not to have a Warrant anymore so that I could enter any premises and strangely the other thing that seemed odd was that I probably wouldn't be wearing a suit very often anymore!! Will Chris still keep a stethoscope at home or will he be hanging that up too? :-) You know how weird I have found it since OH retired!!!

Off to bed now, feel shattered tonight and I have to be up early tomorrow as beading class starts again. I haven't a clue what to take as we never know what we are making the first week. My backs been playing up the last day or two so I hope I'll be ok sitting at class as leaning forward on a seat seems to aggravate it. It was ok leaning back in the cinema yesterday. :-S

I think OH will find out tomorrow whether his footie club will be wound up.

Nighty, night.....sleep tight.

Jane

Jane Report 19 Sep 2013 19:16

Oh dear Mel poor little Hog.What will you do if you catch it and find it is really bad.Would OH 'sort' it or would you have to take it to a vet?I just hope it is not suffering
:-(

I will see if I can get hold of Hannah this evening .I didn't speak last night as she just send a message.Yes it must be a weight of her mind now.She will be coming home tomorrow night ,but not until about midnight.I will have to leave a key out for her..but then she might arrive the same time Chris gets in lol

Just spoke to Hannah. She sounds happy :-D but knacke**d.
Also spoke to Rachel (Dubai) but now Cape Town). She sounded happy too.(Long may it last ).I won't hold my breath there lol.She did say it is so nice for Ethan to be able to play outside now .Not like Dubai with the terrible heat. Also the dogs that they had transported seem to have settled well.Little Zach sounds a very contended baby and just goes with the flow :-D....So all quiet and calm on the Western Front :-D

Fitz is coming up tomorrow .I think I will be all of a hoo ha tomorrow ,just thinking of Chris doing his last day.I think there are going to be so many tears :-( :-(.....I would love to be a fly on the wall there, but then again maybe not as I would be in floods too .It just feels very strange now to think this is the end of his career and we enter the next stage !!!!

David if you are looking in I hope things are ok.Also William has been absent now for a while. Shirl and Kim too.

That's really good news Jane about Hannah getting in on the house share ,so pleased for her .

Afternoon everyone.
It feels like a warm summers afternoon now.Blue sky and SUN :-D.It was miserable earlier on.I have been out and about doing this and that and have just got the old eyebrows tamed ready to dazzle the Italian men lol ;-)

Frank your pie sounded scrummy last night.Hope it didn't give you indigestion with that lovely pastry.
Someone around here must have new cats.Chris saw that one the other morning which was nearly all white but with black patches and I have just seen one that is nearly all black but with white patches. It looked very young and was sitting right where my birds feed by the patio. :-| :-|.It better keep it's little claws and teeth to itself and not catch any.It was rather sweet ,but when I tried to call it is disappeared into the big hedge.

This time next week will have arrived in Venice :-D.I'm getting quite excited now.
Chris has gone on a walk, probably getting his head around it being his last day as a GP tomorrow.
LOL Frank I said you offered to come and keep him company with all the girls. He said he could most likely do with a bit of support :-D :-D.I have a feeling he isn't going to sleep too well tonight.

Is is Ros's Birthday today? I seem to have lost track (again). If it is then
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROS.But it could be on Saturday.HELP !!!!

We have the biggest Bee on the back wall of the house.I just James to take a pic of it.
It's a beauty.

Here I am at last.................................

Oh changed my camera settings last night before I put it out and I had to look through 172 pics and videos. Deleted some of them and then found I had only done it off the card and not on the file so have to do it all again now. Gave up as it was taking too much time. Started dreary here this morning but then the sun came out.

Left three pairs of jog bottoms on the line last night and they were wetter than when I oput them out and I had done a boil wash of the towels so when I put those out I spun the jog bottoms again. All out on the line now in the breeze and sunshine.

Also had library this morning. Took back my two books as I had missed the library a few times. It only comes once a fortnight and I had been out with the family during those days when they were down here. Anyway he had a book I had ordered and I found two more. Came home to do an early lunch and went to put a cd in the machine and there was the last cd of the book I took back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He did'nt check them either. I had to go up the village this afternoon and take it back to him. He had put the book on the shelf too and it was just as well nobody had chosen it. I always said he was useless.........................

I was going to do so much today but not the things I have been doing :-| :-|

Our little hog that visits is not too good. We had a lot of pics of it last night so it is eating well but I think it may have lost an eye or has something wrong with its eye as it dos'nt show up on the camera like the right eye does and it limps so it has either been attacked by soemthing or it has got stuck somewhere and got itself out again. It is eating like there is no tomorrow and leaving me huge poos down the side of the garden. May have to catch it tonight ad have a look at it.

Jane I think I posted twice yesterday but could'nt get back on here to read your posts for the bl**dy Error page.

I am so pleased Hannah was chosen for the share as it will give her something to take her mind of other matters. Hope she settles in quickly. Please give her my love when you next speak.

Maureen, M&S petite only do black & blue Jeans and sometimes I find their petite range too tight round the waist and thighs
I have bought new blue jeans already this year and was looking for some gray ones I like the per una , I have had gray jeans from them before but as I have gone back up to size 10 after gall bladder op, my old gray ones were size 8.

Afternoon All,

Mel said in her post she didn't go out after all Jane. That's great that Hannah has a place to move into now!

OH had a pretty rough night, just wanted the tooth OUT, but this morning it has simmered right down and is more bearable. I think the antibiotics are doing their stuff now. He has a meeting tonight so is glad it is a lot better but is taking painkillers to make sure.

Your OH is very handy Fiona., some trousers can be tricky to shorten if the leg is tapered. OH doesn't do sewing. Before we were married I showed him how to sew buttons on once, but I still seem to be doing them for him. :-S Us shorter folk always seem to have trouble with trouser length!!

Well I thought the new printer was fine as it printed a voucher from an email ok.......not so....it won't print any saved documents at all. It goes through the motions but no print on the paper!! I think I'll have to try the helpline. :-S Why does everything that uses technology get more and more complicated. It's like the boffins are always trying to better each other and us poor mortals are left behind with the speed of the advances.

That sounds like a hefty meal Frank. Hope you have a nice time today.......suns just managing to peep through here after all the rain this morning. A Pigeon sat on the fence getting soaked earlier and was lifting it's wings to get them all spruced up.

Frank

Frank Report 19 Sep 2013 15:35

Billie no mates this afternoon.

The three of them have gone to Leicester, and I stayed at home, resting my leg.
It has been giving me a bit of jip climbing up and down the stairs. (not use to them)

Oh so our Maureen is petite then, bit like me lol lol.

The sun is out here now, and looks quite warm out. I am sitting in their conservatory. It's very pleasant sitting with sun on me. BUT they SAY the sun shines on the righteous .

Conrad will cook this evening and we will stay in . I bought a case of beer with me, so I won't go without. I am the only one that drinks.

With Jan being down Torquay for a few weeks and Conrad in Spain, the grass is very long. But with all this rain, it's not drying enough to cut. Let hope they get a couple of dry days. Conrad goes back to Spain on Sunday.

Maureen Report 19 Sep 2013 13:22

Good to see you have arrived safe and sound Frank, have a lovely time and hope Ros has a great birthday.

Oooh I feel for Gordon Ann, I had an infection a few years ago, absolute agony, the antibiotics should sort it out pretty quick, I bought some stuff in the chemist but I can't remember what it was called, it was good, it numbed the whole area for a short time, got some on my tongue and it numbed that too.

That's great news Jane, now you can go off to Venice and not worry about Hannah. There's a really interesting cemetery in Buonos Aires, it's like a small village with paths leading to different areas, some of the graves look like little houses, but only the rich and famous are buried there, including Eva Peron. When I get my e.mails back I mail some photos, would be interesting to see the ones of your island Jane.

Do they not do a petite size in M& S Fiona, most stores do and I find the length about right.

Time can be so cruel on a person, wasn't Marianne Faithful beautiful as a young girl, alcohol and drugs have taken their toll, didn't think much of it as a genealogy programme but it was very interesting just the same.

Frank

Frank Report 19 Sep 2013 11:54

Morning all from a very wet RUTLAND,

We arrived here about 3.30 pm. Conrad had come home the evening before, and hid from his mother upstairs. He didn't know she knew he was home, so acted very surprised when he came into the lounge.

I took them to the pub last night, it was Steak night, plus the ordinary menu. Those three had steaks and I had a BOOZY STEAK PIE. Massive dish filled with melt in the mouth steak in gravy, with a puff pastry top.

Not sure what is happening today, might go into Leicester or Stamford. but with this rain there won't be much fun walking around.

Glad Hannah is sorted, those few weeks will fly by !!!

Jane,
OH is a dab at most things around the house if needed , I think it comes from living at sea in the navy for 10 years, he had to sew, wash, iron and fix anything he could get his hands on. :-D

I hated sewing class at school , having a bossy teacher didn't help either. made you stand at the front of the class the whole lesson, if you forgot to bring your needles, scissors or anything else you would need.
the same teacher took us for swimming all us girls had to walk to the swimming baths took about half an hour to get there. we walked in pairs and she would curb crawl along beside us in her car. :-| :-|

Fiona I always always have to have my trousers shortened .But usually the short length M&* ones are ok.It is ones I buy anywhere else that I have trouble with and it is a real pain.I could always send them up to your OH .He sounds a dab hand at shortening :-D :-D
I'm trying to think of what to do for dinner tonight.Just something simple I think :-D

Morning Everyone Evening Kim

Glad Hannah has some where to stay Jane, hope everything goes ok now,

Went into M&S yesterday for some new jeans, always USED to say good old M&S can always rely to get what I want. but not this time :-|
Being little I always go for the short but even the short were not short for me, there was only one size 10 in short and I didn't like the colour anyway
so came home and went on line and ordered some jeans , will be in the shop tomorrow , will go down to town and try them on , OH says if I'm happy he will shorten them, :-D that will be Jean number three he has shortened this year already.

pouring down outside at least I don't have to wear my sun hat now to keep the heat of my head.
