OUCH! I know that dreadful pain when an infected tooth is tapped .Remember the trouble I had a year or so back when an infection had got into the root canal :-S :-S I hope the antibiotics kick in quick for OH Ann.
I forgot about the missing pussycat Mandy. Is he back ?I do hope so.
Ann that Island is just the most lovely place .I know it does sound daft but it really is.The moment you step off the water bus and walk into the place there is just a feeling of tranquility .I can't really explain it properly but i just had a 'feeling'.Chris wants to take some pics of some special graves this time.
Another great WDYTYA tonight with Marianne Faithful
Off to bed now .Night Night x

Maureen, I would go for it ........as Jane says, let him see what he's missed!! ;-) Mind you, you don't want him thinking the effort is for him and getting the wrong idea like you say!!!!! You'll have to be cool and aloof......then again perhaps not.....he might think you are playing hard to get. Oh it's a tricky one!
Mandy did the missing kitty turn up today? It's always a bit of a worry looking after other people's pets. OH has an infection in the tooth now and has to take 2 lots of antibiotics. The dentist numbed it with an injection but it still hurt when she tapped it. They charged him another £40 odd pounds but I don't think it's right when the problem hasn't been fixed. That's £80 over 2 days, more than double what it cost for me to have 2 extracted. He has to go back in 3 weeks so they can decide what's to be done next so he'll query it then. It's aching again now the injection has worn off. One of the antibiotics is white lozenge shaped tablets in a pot and when he opened it there was the right amount of tablets but one was a bright yellow round tablet, so he'll have to take them back tomorrow. :-S
The film was quite good.....about the rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauder.
Mel, I think I would have gone for the walk rather than do the HW.....naughty me! Where is the canal in Bude? OH said you don't usually associate canals and the seaside.
I hope the girls want Hannah to join them when she sees them tonight Jane. The sooner she gets settled somewhere else now the better. :-) I just looked at that island........thank you for mentioning it....what a unique place! It seems that burials now are only for 10 years before they exhume you and store your bones in an ossuary. All beautifully kept. Those pressies for Chris sound good......places to go when he's retired!
Watching The Pasadena Roof Orchestra with OH now so night night xx

Maureen ,go for the glam ;-).He will see what he has missed lol. Venice looks as it could be up to 27 at some point.....now that will be far too hot for me.I might suggested we get out of Venice then and visit a couple of the islands .There is one place I really want to go back to and that is the cemetery Island.I think it called San Michelle (or something like that). It is lovely even though it is a cemetery .Chris says I'm weird lol...but I know he enjoyed visiting it the last time we were there.Everyone who dies in Venice has to be transported there either in a funeral Gondola or a boat. What a way to go :-D

Goodness all these Birthdays and Anniversaries .
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CHELSEA <3 <3 <3.I bet the party will be in full swing now :-D Love the cake Mandy.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ANN AND GORDON <3 <3 <3.I hope that tooth of his has settled and that you have had a lovely afternoon.
OH FRANK.What a to do .All your well planned secrets and surprises gone to pot lol I'm sure Ros will have a wonderful day tomorrow flowers or no flowers.Good job you managed to get the day changed. When you mentioned the Chinese I thought it was the one in Kettering you were going to,but see its not.I think Fitz went there for his lunch today. He did ask if I wanted to go along but I was going off to Poddington garden centre,to see if I could get something for Chris.I got a snoozing gnome .It reminded me so much of Chris when I took that pic of him having a kip under the big bay tree.It is just stone coloured and not painted which I think Chris would prefer. I got 2 books also .I think they are Readers Dige** .The most interesting Gardens in Britain and the most Amazing places to visit in Britain.I had a quick thumb through them and they look good. James lit the Woodburner and touch wood we have had no trouble today. He must just have the touch .
Mel did you go off to Bude this morning? .I didn't know there were canals down there.Hope the sun stayed out for you I think it supposed to be rainy here tomorrow but by saturday up to 22/23 degrees again.
Pat have you had any more problems with Mocha getting his feet caught up in his ears? My Sisters dog Aggie has to have her ears tucked into her collar when she eats lol
Hannah will be getting ready to go to have her second meeting this evening with the girls in the possible house share. So I have everything crossed for her.I just hope it is good news .
I suppose I had better start getting dinner sorted. It is just Chicken Breasts and a big tray of the usual Charlotte Potatoes,Peppers,Courgettes,Mushrooms and Red Onions.Plus a load of Asparagus that needs to be used.

Everything you just said Ann I have been thinking. Will take a photo when it's done but won't be able to send it until I've got this bloomin' hotmail sorted. Think I might put a colour on it too, tone it done a bit, at least I can do that myself, although I don't want to look to glam when we go to Spain, don't want you know who to get any ideas :-0

Don't worry Maureen, they send you an application form when it's due. The photo licences have to be renewed every 10 years so they have an up to date mugshot.......another thing we didn't used to have to pay for. :-S
That's just what happened to me. I went to my current hairdresser a few times following the hairdresser I used to have. After a few months she went mobile and only used to charge me £20 for a wash and cut. Then she moved away from the area, so I went back to where she used to work. The girl who does it now gets it spot on every time so I'm reluctant to go elsewhere!! :-) Its called BarrieStephen Hair and is very good, but friendly as well. He has 4 salons now and has won a lot of awards and does loads for charity.....things like going in hospitals to do the hair for women who are recovering from breast cancer. When William and Kate got wed he did free haircuts for anyone called William or Kate. He's a really nice man and good with his staff, takes them away for meals and entertainment and has competitions and gives them awards. He's very hot on customer service too. His salons are spotless, hair on the floor is swept straight up, your hair gets washed twice so there are no itchy bits when you are done, as much coffee and biccies as you want and, when you pay your stylist stands at the door to see you out and thank you. If he calls in the salon, he buzzes around chatting to the customers and making sure you are happy with their service. I bet you will get hooked too if they do your hair well!! It's a little bit of luxury and pampering......you know you deserve it!! lol. My friend on the other hand goes to the local college and the students do her hair for less than £10 and it still looks good.

Afternoon All
Wow Maureen that was an expensive hair do. I just had a dry cut on Saturday and it cost me £12 but I didn't have any change so I gave her £15 in all, I would have given her more to say a big thank you for cutting my hair and being so gentle and not touching my scalp, what a difference it has made , so easy washing and drying now,
cloudy here, with a little sun now and again, we have had one shower of rain.
Happy Anniversary Ann & OH <3
Happy Birthday to Chelsea :-D :-D and Chloe will soon be 1
All Our grandchildren are growing up so fast, Sofia 4 & Matteo will be 1 at the end of November.
Just helped my friend with the photo's for mr Thompson's (nursery Caretaker) 90th birthday on Saturday. we decided to go with a photo frame holding 5 photo's of Staff and children, had to be careful of what photo's we used, we got permission from 3 parents to use photo's of their children, thought a small frame was better than an album, it probably will be put away in a drawer after, men are not ones for putting photo's on display :-D

Oh yes you're right Frank wet wet wet was the band, another senior moment.
Nice sunny day today managed to get out and cut the grass, probably be the last time this year, I was almost tempted to take the cover off the table and get a chair out to sit out for a bit but can't be bothered as it's supposed to be raining again tomorrow.
I didn't know you had to renew the driving licence Ann, better have a look at mine, it might be out of date.
Love the cake Mandy, hope Chelsea is having a great birthday, is she having a party. Chloe will be 1 on 31st October, halloween, daughter is doing a halloween party for her, better dig out my witches hat and broomstick ;-)
It's a nuisance when you have everything planned Frank and then all the arrangements get changed but I'm sure you will have a great time with the family anyway.
How's Venice looking Jane, Spain's looking good 26 and 27 with lots of sun, mind you I don't really trust the long range forecast, it could all change.
I have made an appointment for my hair, was asked if I wanted director, senior stylist or stylist, I said I guess the price is different, £50, £45 or £42, I went for the middle one, I hope I'm not just paying for all the posh decor and cups of coffee in china cups, trouble is if they do it really nice I shan't want to go back to my old hairdresser but don't want to be forking out £45 every couple of months either. Oh well, you can't take it with you as my old dad used to say.
Hope William and Carmel are okay he hasn't been on for a while, and Shirl. if you are looking in I can't get into my e.mails so I'm not ignoring you, still love you just can't send you a reply.

Afternoon All,
<3HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHELSEA <3
Oh Frank, it sounds like chaos!! I hope you have done all the things you need to do to rearrange everything!! No i'M not aged 60 Frank........I wish I was again. It's 60 plus the rest!! lol. Yes, I was unkind to Cherie, maybe they deliberately print the worst photos they get of her, poor lady. They wouldn't have to get many of me to find a bad one either!! lol.
Not a great start to our anniversary today.......OH's toothache is back with a vengeance, but he got in at the dentist again and is there now. He rang his mum before he went and her cataract op went off fine this morning so that's good. He was supposed to be going to a council 'do' this morning and meeting the Lord Lieutenant, but not with toothache!! We went out for lunch with a BOGOF deal and are going to the cinema later to see RUSH.
Just picked enough runners for one more meal this morning and a load more toms. The cue has spread across the greenhouse floor now as well and has lots more cues coming on it, but I doubt they will ripen or grow much.
I have posted off my driving licence.......good job I had it weighed as it was 60p. <3
Now I'm going to enter a few more photos in that competition as it closes in a few days time.......fingers crossed I might be lucky!!

ALL CHANGE, OH WHAT A COCK UP.
Jan has just phoned to ask us up to Rutland today till Friday. I think she is collecting Conrad as we speak.
I will have to tell Ros of the SURPRISES, so I can get things re-organised.
!) that Conrad will be home when we get there later.
2) That Harvey and Julia with Lewis, will NOT be coming here on Saturday evening.
3) That we will all be going out for a Chines meal Saturday.
So we might as well take everything with us, including Saturday Evening cloths. We can stay over till Sunday, and drive down to Harvey's Sunday morning for the party.
I have also had to cancel the flowers, till Monday. Just hope they arrive before I go to my Hospital appointment.
I feel like I couldn't organize a "Pee up in a brewery" at the moment.
The steak and kidney has cooled down and is now in the dish and covered, and in the freezer.
Will take the computer with me this afternoon, so will keep you up dated with developments...

Morning all/Evening Kim,
Don't fall in the Canal Mel, !!! If the weather is nice, it will be good to get out for a while.
SNAP Jane, I was awake at 4.20 am this morning, and couldn't get back to sleep. I finally got up at 6.30 and made tea.
I had Ros's crumpets and tea ready for when she got up this morning, she said I shouldn't have done it. I also cut up a load of Steak and Kidney, that is simmering away in the saucepan as we speak. Ros will transfer to a dish later and put a crust over it, ready for dinner tonight. LOVELY !!! Mash and veg. I will be a happy bunny after that tonight.
I took the dressing of my knee last night, but one still looks a bit angry, so have put a new dressing on.
I Couldn't take SUNGLASS'S yesterday, as I DON'T OWN ANY. The glass's I broke were tinted, but these are not.
I had to ring the florist's this morning to confirm that they had the order for the flowers and that they can deliver before 10.30 am tomorrow. She said she was having trouble with her computer, and couldn't open my Email. So good job I rang, or they wouldn't have turned up. I would have been in the DOG HOUSE. so would the florist. I would have thought she would make sure the computer is working O.K. It is her business after all said and done.
Tell CHELSEA to save Uncle Frank a piece of that cake, and hope she has a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Where do the years go. Ros will be 21 1/2 tomorrow, and LEWIS 15 next week.
Must ring the Chinese restaurant to make sure they have a cake available for Ros and Lewis to cut and share on Saturday. The restaurant is one of the best in the area. The one in Kettering is as good, but further for Harvey and Julia to travel. I had better raid the piggy bank as I expect it to be an EXPENSIVE EVENING.
Do hope Chris. manages on his own on Friday Jane, as I said I could be available to help him out FOR A FEE and a TAXI FARE. !!!
Ann, having to renew your driving licence, does that mean you are 60 (SIXTY) already ??? or has it gone down ??? Poor Mrs Blair, talking about her like that, mind you she is Bl##dy ugly.
Weather doesn't know what to do yet. Hazy sunshine, but with loads of clouds, so I think we will get some wet stuff.
Hows our Ruby, Kim, Will and anyone else who's not been around. OH forgot BUGGER LUGS in CANADA LOL LOL She knows I love her :-D :-D :-D
Steak and Kidney smells great. Do you want some KIDNEY JANE ???? ;-) ;-) ;-)

It really upset me about that poor little boy Frank. How can they say his life was only worth that paltry punishment......makes me angry too.
What an awful thing to do to a dog as well........no excuse when they could take the dog to a shelter or to be put down humanely.
Fancy you being the 'invisible man'. lol Tut, tut......wrists slapped though.......remember I said to take your sunglasses! :-| It would be very uncomfortable having drops in both eyes though....bad enough having them in one.
OH was lucky this morning, he got the tooth filled there and then.......MORE EXPENSE!
This afternoon I suddenly remembered the time was nearly up to send off for a new driving licence with a NEW photo!! I've decided I'm about as photogenic as Cherie Blair...... I took loads before I got one fit to send. lol Then I realised the old printer won't print good photos anymore so there was only one thing for it.....have a go at setting up the new wireless printer. Well it took ages to load the software and do the necessaries. :-S It will take a little while to get used to I think and doesn't like the cheap photo paper that was fine with the old printer. When I tried it with the sample photo paper that came with it it was fine though, so I managed to get a photo printed.......hurrah!! My joy was shortlived........I couldn't find the old licence and photo card that have to be enclosed.....I was looking at them about a week ago as well. On the second round of looking everywhere I'd looked before, as you do, I found them thank goodness, so it is all ready to be weighed and posted tomorrow.
Mandy, I can't believe how fast all the little ones on here are growing up. I love the cake you have made.......looks pretty and yummy......I bet Chelsea will love it. :-)
I'm off to bed now......OH will be back late tonight......he's the door to door taxi service for his pals.

Frank ,I heard about that dreadful thing with that poor dog.I can't even bare to think about it.What an evil ******* . and as for the poor little boy who was starved and killed well I am lost for words. All the agencies and school who knew something must have been wrong and never questioned .Heads have to roll somewhere along the line. I saw the list of times that little boy had been in A&E...and nothing was done. :-S :-S I just don't understand it. Keep calm Frank .Sadly we can't do anything about these monsters .But it needs people who have any concerns at all about child cruelty or animal cruelty to SPEAK UP. Right, before I get too high up on my high horse I will say Night Night and see you all in the morning xx
