OH went and had a look for the meteors last night but could see NOTHING!! lol.
More HW today :-( but it will have to do now. At least it won't need another good going over for a while.....I hope! I went to take a top back this afternoon and after being on my feet all morning my legs were about dropping off while I was queueing! I still have another top to take back to Nuneaton for them to remove the security tag!!!!! :-S So annoying when they leave them on and the shop is 18 miles away!!!
I went to the Parish Centre today to pick up an entry form for a local flower, veg and craft show in September. There are a few things I could enter as there are painting, photography and 'other' craft classes. The trouble is we are about 100ft outside the area so my entry might not be accepted. :-S
Mandy, as a little girl I would have loved a ride on the ponies too!! A couple of days this week we have passed a woman walking 2 tiny ponies all saddled up along the grass verges. They aren't Shetlands with short little legs, they are miniature horses and very cute. She had a little girl with her one of the days and OH wondered why she wasn't riding one of them. He didn't realise they might be youngsters being got used to traffic and to wearing a saddle and not rideable yet!! :-D How is your kitchen coming on now......nearly done?
We have loads of runners now, had some for lunch today.......big helpings and they were lovely!! I've put some in a bag with toms and a cue for MIL tomorrow.

Evening all,
Been out and about the last couple of days yesterday we had a nice day in Cromer ,just a small zoo there which we went round in the morning then onto the pier and a walk round in the afternoon.
Today we have been to Sunny Hunny ( Hunstanton ) another walk round ,bit chilly for the beach but the little ones had pony rides on the beach which they enjoyed and i went on a boat trip with son and Jake , just a half hour out in the boat to the light house and back ,the others didn't want to go as they thought it might be a bit choppy on the water but it was a nice calm ride out.
Jane i was sorry to hear about Hannah and John ,i hope they can manage to sort things out and keep together ,they look so right together .
Sad news about Beryl passing away , Sheila used to keep us entertained with her and Donny's antics ,i wonder if her funeral will be a colourful one , she like her colourful clothes didn't she .
I think we're having a day nearer home tomorrow ,might just go to the car boot in the morning then home for the afternoon, i need to pick some runners they are coming along nicely now ,also toms are ripening up and there's another cucumber ready to pick too.

Sitting here minding my own business this afternoon, when the front door bust open. It was Ella, Jan and Conrad. came to surprise us. I had to ring Ros, as she was still out with Carolyn. They had just arrived at Tesc#s to do the shopping.
Ella hadn't eaten, and for the first time ever, I never had a slice of bread in the house, or in the freezer. So she made do with a biscuit or SIX till Ros came home. I then made her a Ham sandwich, which she nibbled at, and Jan ended up eating..
I then had to take her down the garden to dig some potato's. As I turned the ground over, she was there picking up the potato's, she also wanted a cucumber fresh of the vine. So I had to cut her one. She's six in October, but going on 16.!!! She had worn us out by the time they left at 5.30 pm.
We are having F & C from the van this evening. I had prepared a SPAG BOL. but Conrad took that home for their tea !!! So he went home with a load of Onions as well as Ros had bought a big sack from Morriso##
He was at hospital this morning for a check up, he will have to go back in for a bit more remedial work at a later day. The doctor was a BIG Bl##k man, who had to put his finger you know where. Conrad said his finger was like a branch of a tree. :-D :-D :-D and wondered why Conrad jumped :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0
Don't think we will see any activity in the sky tonight. The clouds are so thick, I think we will get rain later. The garden and lawns really need it.

Oh Ruby ,you wouldn't would you ? ;-) ;-). I have seen a few small kind of Daddy longs legs but more than that is the number of cobwebs around. The fine spun ones that can't easily be seen until you come across a mass :-S.
Mel how nice to able to pick your own mushrooms and so many too :-D I used to love going mushroom picking with my Dad in the early mornings over the cliffs.I hated mushrooms then but now we have them several times through the week.
Sad news from Kim about Sheila's old pal Beryl .We did have some good old chuckles with her and Donnies escapades .
Frank I'm not sure if we have as many beans as usual .I have a feeling we might have a couple of cane pyramids down this year.I call the pyramids (can't think of the proper name). But there are still plenty more there growing :-D :-D

Hello all,
Can't stay for long as I have two little rascals on their way over (grandchildren). Their mum cuts grass for me - I don't get on the mower any more.
I was wondering David why you don't try a bath seat. My friend who broke her ankle is now out of her cast, but she still can't stand without her walker. Her bath contraption works a treat. She undresses and sits on the seat, which she then turns and hoists her legs over the tub, and takes her shower from there. When she had the cast, she could leave the one leg outside the bath - seat adjusts for left or right.
When I got up this morning there was a daddy longlegs hanging from the microwave - above the stove, and it is now just inches from one of the burners. The temptation to turn that burner on is huge. :-D
Our forecast is close to 35' today.

Morning all,
What sad news about Shelia's friend, What will Donnie do now ???
HOME ALONE. the girls have just gone out, I have rung three girlfriends, but they are all busy :-D :-D :-D I* should be so lucky ;-) ;-) ;-)
The way you are going Jane, you will pick all your beans, and like the baby bear, you will have none left <3 <3
Fiona, I agree, the sun isn't around so much this pass few days, and I soon came in yesterday, after sitting out reading for half an hour. In fact last night I felt quite chilly, and put my dressing gown on by 8.00 pm. Very cloudy here this morning. and no sign on the yellow thing !!!
As you know, we don't have a bath at home. It was originally a "WET ROOM" but Harvey fitted a shower cubicle. The floor in the bathroom is anti-slip, so I am fine, but when I go to Conrad's, I have TWO rubber mate and two suction handles, (to hold onto) I always have a job stepping out of the shower onto the bath mat, it's a step of about 8 " Always frightened I will go over, and they will have to come in to recover me. (NOT A PRETTY SIGHT)
Hope there is no news from Hannah Jane, they do say "no news is good news" I am sure they will sort themselves out, and I know you and Chris will be there for them both.
We are having dog trouble again. There's one that is barking constantly, that sets off others, until it's just a barking from one end of the area to the other, as one stops the others start, and so it goes on. Yesterday I got so fed up with it I shouted "SHUT THAT BLOO## DOG UP" but still it went on, I bet they leave it in the garden while they are at work/out.
Time for a coffee. see you all later.
I feed the tomato's, peppers, cucumbers and courgettes last night. and all the pots and tubs, hanging baskets and flower boarders. They were as dry as old boots.

Morning All and Eveing Kim,
Bit cloudy today but much more comfy.
Oh has changed the settings on my camera as when it was taking it's first pic it was three mins before taking the video and I was'nt getting the hedgehog feeding. Now it is 30 seconds so I shall have many more things in the way of pics and videos to look through each morning. This morning I had two magpies and a crow! One magpie is moulting and looks extremly tatty.
Did'nt get the tunnel watered last night after shopping and getting everything away so must do that today. Picked more green beans last night ad had them for dinner and they were lovely. May have some runners soon as I spied some biggish ones yesterday in passing.
Fiona how strange that your inlaws passed the same way. Those steps must have been trecherous (sp).
Jane have you heard anymore from Hannah?? I do hope it was just a hiccup as most couples have at some times in their lives. Do hope it is all sorted quickly. Fingers crossed. <3

Morning Everyone, Evening Kim
Well I think our summers over, and autumn is fast approaching, not seen much of the sun these last few days, and if it does peep out there's a really strong cold wind to go with it. blew the sun brolly over twice yesterday, OH says he won't put the table or the brolly away for another few weeks, say's you never know the sun might come out again, I don't like sitting out when it's windy, he doesn't mind. Garden across the road has apple blossom tree's and some of the leaves have already turned orange. Even though I am coping much better with my head now the hot weather has gone, I am reluctant to put all my summer clothes away, have only put sun dresses and and sleeveless tops away, they are just in the back bedroom wardrobe so not that far away :-D
David that is a very sad story about your FIL, OH grandparents both died by falling down the same basement stairs, Grandfather died in 1963 he was 70. and grandmother died 6 six years later she was 70, what ever they needed from the basement they should have sent a young person to get it, or fixed the basement stairs :-| :-|

Horrible accident indeed. His wife, crippled with rheumatoid arthritis in the adjoining bedroom had to wait until the carers came and they called the police.FIL was always regarded as independent.Dreadful accident.
Ann,isn't stnding in water whle showering a tad hazardous.I'd suggest that you and Jane use a rubber mat in the bath and fasten grips to the wall.
Sunny and warm up here.Thunder and lightening last night.
FiFi was taken to the vets at tea time yesterday. She gets speyed today and vaccinated and a chip.As F would say, more expence.

I too have to turn over to get out of the bath :-S.What a flipping performance.I used to do it with the water still in ,but it was like a whale sloshing around and water everywhere lol
David I remember you telling us a long time ago about the terrible way Ellen's Father died. :-(.Such a very sad accident.
The Tree Surgeon is coming soon to see what we need done so i beter get these beans picked now. BBL

Oh David, how awful for that to have happened to Ellen's father. It just shows these things are not isolated incidents. I used to turn over onto my knees to get out of the bath, but it still hurts my knees a lot to stand up, so now I have showers all the time. I often put the bath plug in to give my feet a nice soak!!
We went food shopping today too Mel. Then we couldn't drive out of the supermarket from either entrance because of queues of traffic!! They are doing roadworks and closing roads all over the place round here at the moment and it causes chaos at peak times. We should have gone earlier really. :-S
Off to bed now.......all the HW today has made me shattered......knew I wasn't cut out to be a housewife!!! lol :-) :-D.

Been shopping........................... :-( Cooked raost lamb, new pots beans from the tunnel and cabbage with oinon gravy. Followed quickly by summer fruit trifle that was on offer in Morr*sons. Luverly grub.
Jane I was wondering about Hannah and John but thought they had just been on holiday ad looked like they had a whale of a time. From what you have said in the past they do seem to b e a good match. He looks a kind boy. I hope they can have a good talk and sort out the probs.
Maureen you sound like you had a lovely time at the party and the weather being comfortable made the day.
Frank so sorry Ros did'nt have a good spot for her jewelry after her working so hard to get things ready for the big days.

Jane,Hannah's relationship problem is sad,but IF they're going to split, and only they would know why;better to do it now than 3 -5 years down the line.
Ann,the reason I empty the bath before getting out and insist Ellen does the same is because her Father tripped and fell into the bath while it was filling. He drowned.
I can't get on to tummy to attempt to get out of the bath. The leg's still far too painful. I lift my self by my elbows then get the good leg out, stand on it and then get the injured leg out. Do you leave the bath tummy down? Get a pair of those grips screwed to the wall, they're a big help.
When I feel safer in the bath I will use the shower.

Maureen ,as you say they will have to sort things themselves.I do actually think they are really well suited as a couple. They just need to sit and TALK. Oh Frank what a shame about Lara and her hubby.Don't think I would be happy if my OH was wanting to go off every weekend with the boys and leaving me with a baby. Flipping Kids.We do love them but it is sad when things go pear shaped .Chris and I have been sat outside doing a bit of brain storming ,but it does just come down to the two of them sorting it one way or the other.
Prime position next year then for Ros .What a pity she was too far away for 'punters'.She must have been very disappointed .
William I get a bit het up on the tubes even when I'm with someone who knows what they are doing. It is that underground bit that bothers me and being hemmed in by hoards I think I have got brain freeze now .I just can't think lol.
Does anyone watch Eastenders? I saw Minty from the programme having a coffee outside a cafe .He was signing his autograph for two youngsters :-D

David, I started emptying the bath before I got out after I read someone slipped over, was knocked out and drowned in the bath!! If you can turn on your tummy and kneel with your feet at the plug end of the bath, it might help you to get out as your feet can't slip backwards then. I bet it felt lovely to have a good soak after all this time. :-)
Maureen it sounds as if you had a nice time and busy weekend, croquet, badminton!! Yes, I agree, men don't seem to have friendly games, too competetive!! I used to play a lot of badminton in my 30s and remember joining the district council club and hardly got a game as some of the men were swapping the pegs to choose their partners that they thought would help them to win!! I ended up playing in a ladies game and when they saw I could play well, all of a sudden I was going to be in one game after another with them. Two can play at their game I thought, so did some peg swapping myself so I didn't play with them!!! ;-) Men that are that competetive hog all the shots anyway and it's only 'your' shot when they 'miss' it, so I got more of a game and a laugh with other chaps and with the ladies.
OH was still fence painting this morning......the last lap at the side of the bungalow! I have been tidying and dusting ready for a big hoover up tomorrow before MIL comes on Wednesday. I'm not impressed with the little D*son hoover I bought for the hard floors. It starts ok then the sound changes and it seems to blow out more air and lose suction!! It didn't need emptying and the filter wasn't blocked as you could see through it.:-S I had to get out the old V*x to finish the settees.
Oh William, I thought it was just the one car all that time. lol. Those Micras have a good reputation. FIL 's last car was one and he wished he'd had one years before once he'd changed. I know just what you mean about swapping your car. I got a good deal on the one I have now with all the 'whistles and bells' as you say. If I bought a new one the same I daren't think what the price would be. :-(`
We enjoyed The Mill again last night. It makes you realise that just surviving was the main thing for many folk then. Life was a struggle for a lot with little opportunity. We should be so thankful we live in these times.
On a lighter note, OH got an invite today for himself and I to go to the Mayor's Civic Service. What made me smile was that the invite said we could wear 'regalia or uniform' if we wished!! :-) lol.
