LOL David.I hope you manage to get puss to the vets :-D.It must be done.
Well I might be talking a load of gibberish now as Chris ,Me and Fitz have been sat outside since midday eating nibbles and drinking wine.Bit too much wine ;-).I got stung by a darned wasp right on the inside of my arm :-S That is just the second one I have seen this year.I think I have got a bit of sunburn too.
Chris has gone for a little sleep !
We leave tomorrow afternoon to go to Stratford.Chris is working in the morning ,so I reckon it will be about 2pm when we set off.I think I will be sorting out clothes in the morning .Just can't think about that now lol

David made me laugh too Frank.

Been to get the chickens food and took back a t shirt I bought for oh that was too small. Gave me a £12 credit note and then I walked around the shop and found two more sleeveless vest type tops for myself, 2 for £5 and then saw a vax carpet shampooer marked down from £85 to £65 so I bought that too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been looking for one as my carpets could do with a wash. I did have an old Vax that I used to do them with but the trigger for the water broke so I could only suck up with it until oh used it and did'nt put the bucket bit in it and it stopped working.

Had this from Liz and don't know whether you all got it or not so here it is.

Hi Mel,
Back again! Just to let you know that we are all fine and dandy! The hot weather didn't affect us TOO much as both of us like the heat and cope pretty well with it, however Millie did struggle a bit, so we wrapped her in cold towels and made sure that she stayed well in the shade; luckily we have a large syringa bush that she was able to get under, so she spent a lot of time in her 'house'! Merlin has his big airy open barn, so he was ok - flies a bit of a pest, but copious spraying of citronella seemed to do the trick. Much cooler here now, quite cloudy but at least the wind has dropped!
Next week we are taking Merlin to a show! the first one since we've been here - we have to be in the ring by 930, so will be an early start. There is a dog show too, so I may enter Stella - Millie's too old now and with Stella here, too cross!!
L and family are staying at a Country House Nr Poitiers! S.I.L and Edward brought Stella over last week (girls were packing!!) and he seemed so excited that they were going on holiday - 'at last' as he put it. Although I say it myself (prejudice!) he is a dear little boy and so affectionate, with masses of charm(!!);(apparently I'm his friend and he is my friend) also he thanked me for his birthday (6) present too without being prompted!! so nice manners as well!
Well, I'm back to the garden, with my Kindle, as the sun has poked it's head out!
Liz

David you do make me smile ;-) ;-) ;-) poor cat.

Went to go out the front door just now, as I put my left foot into the porch , it gave way, and I banged my head on the front door. Good job I didn't have my glass's on. No damage to the door., only me with a slight headache.

Ros can hardly speak, she was in the chair at the dentist's for an hour. She thought her mouth was going to split open, with all the equipment he was stuffing in there. :-D :-D :-D I said with your mouth he could get the chair in, NOT taken as a joke. So I am keeping out of the way <3 <3

Turned muggy here now, I am back in my shorts, and bare chested.

Haven't done anything for dinner tonight. Will wait and see if Conrad and Jan turn up at at what time. Might go out for a Indian or Chinese., if Ros feels up to it.

Those trays are great Fiona, we have a few, which is handy for keeping the seed trays damp.

Afternoon All

Just got back from Shopping, OH got some long black trays from Pou*d Stre*cher, They are great for putting seed trays on. also some more seed trays, we have thrown out old pots that are broken and had a good clean up in the shed, now there is space to put the lawn mower in the shed, which will make the garage look more tidy.

Warm here but cloudy, going to get some lunch. BBL

Morning Jane and all,yes I am happier now that triple fixator is off my leg,but I no longer have its support.
Despite that and the fact it aches at times I am walking with the aid of a walking frame or elbow crutches.I can even get into the kitchen and make myself a cup of tea....big achievement :))

My car's been parked at the rear of the bungalow for so long now it's in need of an MOT.I'm sure it needs new brake shoes and possibly front tyres.
Might use this opportunity to change it.I like Volvos, never had one before.

Cat's booked in to be speyed next Tuesday Ann.Keeping her in is like holding on to a fart.Damn near immpossible.

Are we all retired on this thread.

Morning all/Evening Kim.

Had a good night again last night, except I knew Mike from BEN was coming at NINE. I woke at 6.00 and just dozed till 8.00. looking at the clock every half hour. When you get up you feel tired out

Anyway he came and we chatted for almost two hours. It's so nice that they have kept in touch with me all these years, since my stroke. He will call and see me again in November. (NOT LONG)

Ros is at the dentists having a mould taken for her Bridge (MORE EXPENCE) I don't know when he will do the work.

The table is full of jewellery box's full of GEM stones. still beavering away making more earrings, necklaces, and bracelets . I just hope she sells some, she has worked so hard doing them all. <3 <3 <3

Beautiful morning here, not to warm, but nice, with all doors and windows open.

You sound a proper little COUNTRY GIRL this morning Jane. How were your beans. ?? I must go and pick some more today (I HAVE LOADS) lol lol

David, What if you were to late with the cat. More kittens. You will have to open a pet shop. :-D :-D :-D

Mel, I have a BIG WATER GUN. But the Blood# cats seem to know, that when I open the door, they are in for a soaking, and are off like rockets. I haven't got them for ages.!!! But my time will come.

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Bright and sunny here too. Got on here first try this morning for a change and straight to the last pages to read your posts.

David that is good news you have said goodbye to the wheelchair. Another step forward in your recovery.

Cats usually come into season just after having kittens so if you have kept her in she should be ok. You should have had her spayed straight after she had them so there was no chance she could be pregnant again. If she is they probably won't do it.

Hav'nt looked in my inbox yet so hav'nt seen any pics you have been talking about.......will do it in a min.

Fiona I wonder if the sun has anything to do with your nasty headaches. Hope you can keep them under control so you can enjoy what summer we have left.

Fed the hedgehogs last night and looked out a bit later as I had put the camera out and there was the big black and white cat clearing both bowls of food. I threw my wellie at it but it hit the wood of the gazebo thing outside the back door but still frightened it away. I must bring my master big water gun down from the potting shed and keep it loaded by the back gate.

Morning All,

What a poor night's sleep I had. Woke at 2 :30am with my throat really dry and unable to swallow properly. Had a drink but I must have had a hair that was irritating my throat as well. I kept wondering if it was a spider...yuk. It was gone 4:00am before I drifted off again.

Work on the houses in the field is in full swing now with all the noise that goes with it.....no chance of any lie in till the dark mornings now and maybe not then as I think the lights from the main road will give them plenty of light. :-S I shall have to go back to being an 'earlybird.

Jane, I DO like Oregano.....it is Coriander that I can't stand that tastes just like soap to me!! I was just looking it up and was amazed to find reports saying dislike of it is likely to be linked to your genes and ancestry.

Better get dressed now........jobs to do! BBL

Good news David......literally another step forward for you! :-) You better watch mummy cat, as she could still get pregnant even with kittens she is suckling. The clue might be that the neighbourhood cats are showing interest!! :-0 You don't want another litter of little leg scratchers do you?? ;-)

Annx Report 7 Aug 2013 19:47

Mandy, without seeing the skirt, I agree with Jane that a grey top, maybe charcoal. might be good and there would be no risk of a black top not quite matching your jacket. Will you be wearing a hat? The children's dresses sound so pretty and I bet they are so excited!! It sounds like Jane will be joining you planning an outfit too now she is going to Fitz's son's wedding!! :-)

Will, I hope you like the taste of 'STRAW'. lol Thank you, those of you who enjoyed the pics, but I find that those that judge these competitions quite often pick what to me seems the most unlikely choice........a bit like art competitions. Still, what do I know and if you don't enter, you have no chance!! ;-)

How strange about your dentist Jane?? Usually they say why they are closed don't they......and the place would be empty, not have folk inside.

David, I have to get up some steep, awkward stairs at my dentist,s which is not easy, but when I asked, they said I could be seen in a downstairs surgery if it became too difficult. It is the same with the optician.......upstairs, no lift, but they will see you downstairs if you ask when you book.

Well, we sold the surplus slabs I advertised!! The man came this morning so I nipped and did some errands so the drive was clear for him to reverse up and load them. OH said he was a lovely man, now retired too and that he wanted them to make a flat area where he could make up his birdboxes he sells for charity. :-) OH said he thought he would have stayed much longer, was loving the garden, only OH had to get back to his fence painting and drying paintbrushes that were drying out. Well, that's a bit more space in the garage now.......might advertise the old obelisks next! I'm on a 'roll'. lol.

Remember I told you about one of our cats having 2 kittens?
Well they're 8 weeks old now yet she is still suckling them.
I hope she is not in heat again.
Two toms are seldom far away from our door,if they're not canoodling they're fighting.Annoying every one within ear shot.
Ellen has a cup full of cold water on the kitchen bench near the back door.If either of them get within range she throws water at then.It does'nt hurt them but it scares them away for a while.

I was at Freeman Hospital Physiotherapy Dept this afternoo.
Went there in a wheel chair in an ambulance.
Came back on elbow cruthes in an ambulance.
That's the finish of the wheel chair.Another step toward recovery.

Afternoon (nearly evening) All

Thanks Liz for your pics .I have sent reply :-D.
Fiona thanks for yours too.OH has done a great job with the greenhouse :-D,have replied :-D

Ann WOW!.Fantastic pics.Yes I think the last one is the one :-D :-D

Frank I bet those Courgettes or are the cucumbers? will be fine and edible :-D

Well i went to the Dentist and a note pinned to the door says
Due to unforeseen circumstances the practice will be closed until the 13th Aug.
The door was locked but there were people in there.I wonder if there has been a health hazard or something. It's all very strange, and especially as nothing is explained and it to be shut for so long !!!!!!

I have picked my first lot of runners today.I had a little hug with them lol as I have been waiting for this day :-D.I know,I'm as daft as a brush.

Mandy I don't know what colour to suggest to go with your skirt.Black could be fine ,something very light weight like a silk .Would a pewter colour go?I'm hopeless when it comes to co-ordinating colours.......Don't ask FRANK(colour blind ;-) )

Mel ,has your knee held out today? You need to have it looked at if it doesn't settle.
That is really good all your produce is selling from your table and all the money left :-D It's nice to know there are plenty of honest people about.

I have a whirly gig line absolutely full of washing. It always puzzles me as to where it all comes from.I have done a few bits I want to take at the weekend when we go to Stratford for a couple of nights.

Fitz's youngest son is getting married at the end of November and Chris and I are
invited. It is at Fawsley Hall near Daventry. So a fair drive from here.I decided it would
be a good idea to book a room as the celebrations go on into the evening. So I have reserved a room.....nearly fell of the chair at the price :-S :-S.

I can't believe it is 6 o'clock !!.I don't know where today has gone.

William Report 7 Aug 2013 17:50

Where's Will indeed Frank!! It's just taken me 15 minutes of scrawling through to get here at all. Whatever is going on with GR these days??? Yesterday I wanted to get into my Family Tree on here to send some details to my sister in law in Hornchurch to go with her birthday card and it came up with an ERROR message for that too. Luckily I got there this morning in time to get the post.

No, sorry Frank, Gnomes are strictly forbidden unless they can scare off the local cats:-) Our buddleias are now in full flower and the lovely butterflies have started coming. The trouble is some of the flowers are hanging down, - cue local moggies trying to catch them.

Carmel has to go to the Coventry Uni hospital (a parking nightmare - even seen on ITV News) for an MRI scan on Friday. That's not to be looked forward to, except our grandson has invited us to his place afterwards for lunch and he lives nearby.
I've had a phone call from our local hospital (George Eliot, Nuneaton) to go to the Day Unit on this Saturday afternoon. The trouble is in a senior moment, I forgot to ask them what for? Probably to do with what I've been seeing my GP about these past two Mondays.

Otherwise we haven't been doing much at all to write on here about. When, I can get on that is!!

Ann has excelled herself with her latest batch of photos. If she doesn't win a prize I'll eat my straw boater. I know she plays it down but Ann you have one talent there with a camera. Go for it.
Lot's of emails, lovely photos from many of you - and loads of laugh from Frank.

Off to put a couple of pizzas on now. C Y A L (maybe ????)

Frank Report 7 Aug 2013 16:54

Afternoon all,

Quite a pleasant day here, bit cooler but warm enough for me to be topless !!!

This morning I almost ended up in a pile, My knee locked up as I put my left leg forward. Ended up grabbing at the greenhouse, otherwise I could have gone through the side window.

Last night I slept like a log, and have had 40 winks this afternoon, in the peace and quiet.

Hope your OLD head !!! is feeling better this afternoon Fiona. Just take things as easy as you can.

Had some photo's also from Liz, we often exchange Emails, so I keep in touch with her. Haven't they done wonders with their new place ???

Mandy, I am eating Runners like they are going out of fashion, I gave a good picking to Harvey at the weekend, and will give Conrad a load when I see him. We are not suppose to know but he is coming home tomorrow (Thursday) and calling in to give us a surprice.JAN let it out of the bag yesterday :-D :-D :-D He will take back a big cucumber and a bag of new potato's as well.

Still no sign of Madam, I must remember to say "HOW NICE HER HAIR LOOKS"

I have my chap from BEN calling tomorrow morning. He has been very ill. CANCER of the pancreas., but is getting over the operation, I wondered why I hadn't heard from him in a long time. I must get a contact No. for him.

Ros has the dentist at 10.30 in the morning, not sure if she has anything on pm. if not we might spend a little time together. <3 <3 See I do miss her when she's not here. :-D :-D

Where's Will, Hope all's well with Carmel. I assume he is busy painting all his little collection of new garden people. I haven't seen any gnomes yet, Do you have any Will.???
