Afternoon Everyone,

Old head playing up again, feel tired this morning so I had my breakfast and went back to bed for a rest and 2 hours later I woke up feeling better,
still the head is playing up but I I'm not as weary.

Have taken a few pics of our new greenhouse , not got much in it yet, as Oh is putting up shelves, but you can see what it will look like.

Afternoon all,

Been nice and sunny here today, road is all resurfaced ,i was surprised how quickly it was done ,now we have to keep off it until tomorrow when they will come and suck up all the loose stones .

Ann, you have some good tomatoes there ,good idea putting the mint in taller pots to save bending ,we have had a few little tomatoes ripen but the bigger ones are still all green ,i noticed that my cucumbers are growing again ,i cut the little yellow ones off.

Mel , i think Liz has sent the photo's to everyone ,i had them come through .

Toad in the hole for us tonight ,and i have just picked seven runner Beans !! :-D there was one big bean and i thought it would only get tough so i had to pick a few smaller ones to go with it :-D hubby will think he is on rations !!! LOL i bet he will say where are the rest !! i have got other veg so he won't go hungry .

I turned out hubby's wardrobe this morning all his t,shirts some he hasn't worn for ages and i know this because the hangers had dust on the tops !! :-S :-S

We have a wedding to go to in Sept, DIL's sister getting married and the little ones are going to be bridesmaids , they look so cute in their dresses ,lilac with little butterflies and crystals on the bodice , and i've been looking in the wardrobe to see what to wear ,i have a nice white skirt with black flowers on i think i've only worn it once but it's hard to know what to wear with it ,if i put a white top on it makes the skirt look cream and if i put a cream top the skirt looks white !!
Do you think a black top would look to dark for a wedding ? i bought a long sleeved black jacket ,just a light one to wear in case its a bit on the cool side .

Jane, you have the same thoughts as us, as much as I love animals, they are a tie. and you have to rely on other people when you want to go away. Also look at the Vets bills. You could have had a smashing holiday on what your spent on Chester !!!

Home alone today. She has her nail appointment at 11.00. then onto Tesc# and Martine's for coffee, then hair. So I will see her about 5.00/5.30 pm.

David, It's very difficult changing dentists around here. You have such a job finding one to take you. The best thing (I THINK) is to have a word with both dentists, to see if you can transfer to the ground floor one, till you are able to get up the stairs to the other. I would think under the circumstances they will try to help you out. You can but try !!!

These sites should be monitored more. Poor little girl, bullied to death like that. Not only that, these BAST###S groom these young children for SEX. Why doesn't the Government do something about them ????

Mel, like you I had chilli last night, but mine was a "Ready Meal" quite nice, but a little tame and not many beans in it. .

I am doing a Lasagne tonight, with a fresh salad. I seem to have gone off meat and veg. at the moment.

My nephew rang last night to see how I got on at the hospital. He/we chatted about every man and his dog for over an hour. He has invited down to Caster for a few days on the 10th Sept. (if I have had my operation, and able to sit in the car for a long period) So will have to see.

Must get down the garden this morning to see how the greenhouse is. That's two days without going down, but Ros said everything looked O.K.

Well, I'm off for a coffee, and a read see you later.

Knee feels strange this morning and I think it may go funny again and I should go to market today to get chicken and chick food.

Thank you Ann, my Mother was aged 51 when that photograph was taken.I''m glad I took it as I have few of her and that's the best.She died 14 years later.

That keepsake is difficult or I was making hard work of it.

You think Ellen looks / looked like Mary Hopkin? I never noticed.

Prior to my accident I had 2 temporary fillings,some time ago now.
With this leg problem of mine I'm considering changing to a dentist much nearer to where I live.I'm not sure it's the best idea though.

My present dentist has been OK but she's on the second floor.It's going to be hard work just reaching her chair.The other is much closer to home and on the ground floor.

But not all dentists are the same.What would you do?

Had chilli for dinner nice and easy. Watered the tunnel earlier tonight and then picked more toms and another marrow. My cues are not looking good. The one that was dying then picked up a bit now has lost it top as it has gone yellow. It still has three cues on it. The other one that was doing well now looks a bit sick. I had sowed two more and only one came up so today I have planted it in another place I have never had cues before. Don't know if it will have time to do anything but you just have to give it a chance. It is about 6 inches high. Will let you know how it gets on.

Frank did you hear of any accident your way which caused your appointment to be cancelled?

Found them now David, they don't make things easy do they! Your mum had lovely hair didn't she. My sister's is the same kind of colour, but lighter and not as rich...........completely natural and no grey yet and she's 57 now.

I see what you mean about Julia Bradbury.....but I'm not too keen on her as a person. I did like it when I was young and a lady cornered me in a shop doorway, convinced I was Mary Hopkin!! She needed spec*avers really, but she wouldn't have it that I wasn't!! lol. I wish I'd had Mary Hopkin's voice though, loved some of her songs..... like this one :-) I think your Ellen in the photos looks a lot like her.

Well, I got 3 of my my mints in the big pots. I found some of the labels in the middle of them......and found I've been steaming our new potatoes with the Spearmint one by mistake!! lol. I seem also to have a lemon one, a chocolate one, a pineapple cream and green one and a super eau de cologne one but no ordinary mint!!.

Jane, how awful for that to happen to a young girl like that. They really need to sort this sort of bullying out, there is far too much of this kind of thing happening.

I wonder if your dentist is having a 'revamp' of the place Jane? I might suggest the glove finger thing to Tia next time I go.

No Mandy not yet.I think we will enjoy the freedom of retirement to be able to go away whenever we want and not have to worry about who will look after another dog.
It did feel funny taking Meg down the lane though.Her poor back legs are getting very dodgy and she fell out of our front door and landed on her side.She did have a bit of a struggle to get back up :-(.I've just taken her home.

On the news today it says about a 14 year old girl who hanged herself after bullying on one of these chat sites.She is Janice's son in laws Niece :-0 :-0.His Sisters daughter.Has has had no contact with them for many years but it has come as a terrible shock.It is just so sad when something like this happens :-( :-(

My Dentist is still shut !!!! Curiouser and Curiouser .I will drive over tomorrow and see if there is a notice or something on the door explaining why.It just seems odd there is no-one there just to answer the phone.

Mandy that grit stuff from resurfacing does seem to get everywhere.Yes shoes off at the front door I think lol.It will be nice to have a smooth road though :-D.The roads around Kettering are a nightmare.Breaking up and pot holes all over the place.They patch things up and then the patches all wash away with any heavy downpours or ice/frosts.So they end up deeper than ever :-S

I suppose I had better start dinner.This news about Will's niece has thrown me somewhat :-(

I haven't been down the garden today, just can't be bothered. All I seem to have done is doze in the armchair.

You asked, what happened to the rest of my rebate from the utility company, I sent them an Email over a week ago. They rang this afternoon, asking me how I felt about their service ~~~~####. I said where's the rest of my money. ?? He went of the line and came back to say they still had nearly £300.00 in my account. I told him to get it sent to me ASAP. He said it will take about 20 days. I won't tell you what I said but it began with a B and ended with an S.

Something nice and easy for dinner tonight, I can't be bothered to stand cooking.

Oh dear Frank now you have to go all through it again !! only three nurses :-0 :-D you must be losing your touch !! :-D :-D those poor old people with their broken bones though :-S

Ann I can read at the hairdressers when I have a colour done because I get the girl to cut 2 fingers off their disposable gloves and slide them over the arms of my specs,so I don't get dye on them.It works a treat :-D.You will have to give it a try next time.

I'm going to take Meg for a little stroll down the lane as she seems quite happy to lie on the floor and she needs to keep her legs moving.It will seem funny taking her down there instead of Chester :-(

That's good with your prescriptions Mel, we have to go back to collect ours after 2 working days. It always annoys me having to do that, so much for reducing pollution!! Ours have, at last, got rid of the expensive 0844 number to ring them and now it is a local tel no. I think surgeries were told to change that a while ago, but ours weren't quick to do it.....no surprise there!! I have never heard of lengthmen before. I think even I have enough cues for your table now!! lol. I love to see birds sunbathing like that. By the way, how are those chicks doing?? We had a pair of the Buzzards circling over the back this morning.......all the other birds go quiet and take cover when they are around.

Wasn't that awful that Python that escaped and got into another flat and strangled those 2 little boys. You just don't know what your neighbours might be keeping these days.

I had to smile though at the Chimpanzees at Twycross not far away, when they escaped their enclosure and got into another enclosed part where they shouldn't be. They were easily tempted back with ice lollies.....brilliant!! :-D

Off to do a bit of deadheading and weeding now. OH has fixed a narrow fence panel across the gap between the bungalow and side fence and is painting away again!! We have a wider path the other side of the bungalow that we use, so just store our 'bits and bobs' or 'eyesores' down this side, which has a hinged, wooden gate at the front.

Just heard from KIM in FB. she is having trouble with computer, unable to get on the thread. keeps breaking down. DON'T send and Emails till she gets it sorted. I said I would pass it on. I will keep in touch with her, and keep you informed.

O Frank what a nuisance after all the build up to your op. I hope they can get all the broken bones etc done for those poor people. Please let us know if you hear any news about an accident or whatever.

Just went up the gate and put some toms and cues and courgettes and marrows on my table and all the eggs were gone so I came down and boxed up some more, went up there with them and all the toms had gone and a cue. Was someone watching me???????? Actually the lengthmen were out there clearing the weeds off the side of the road so it may have been them. At least they paid for the things!!
