Hi Pat, haven't seen you on the thread for a while, but I haven't been on here much either. Did see some nice photos of Mocha on Faceb**k though from when you were on holiday.
Ann have sent you a PM.
Where's our Frank today.
I was going to do so much today, only put the computer on while I have lunch, that was more than 2 hours ago, bit late to start anything now

Afternoon all. Thank goodness we have a dry day today..I have just washed my windows and frames down..I don't have a window cleaner..I washed the nets the other day and have been waiting to do the windows outside. Busy in the shop yesterday. and when I was finished for the day it started to pour with rain.I didn't have a coat only an umbrella...Trousers were soaking wet on the bottoms. The sun is trying to shine... dare I have a cup of tea outside. Waiting for Alan to come home..He is picking another car up..After having the courtesy car for alittle while he wanted to trade our own car in.Still getting a corsa but a later model.. Mocha is sitting at the window waiting for him. Had to cut his claws again yesterday he has been catching them in his fur on his ears..These are brushed daily but he still managed to do it..While I was at work yestesday after he must have got caught again and when Alan came in from work he wondered why he didn't come to him...Poor old thing how long had he been like it we will never know..

Nice and bright and sunny today but I think the sitting out in the garden days are ended now.
Haven't sorted the hot mail problem yet but will try in a minute, I'm just a bit worried I might make everything worse. So if you don't hear from me again I've probably crashed the computer :-0
We will be in Spain for 8 days Jane, not sure how that came about, something to do with daughter's friend who works for BA who we booked the tickets through, so used to E*syJ*t and R**n Air I'm not sure if we actually get fed on a British Air**ys flight I know we have more baggage allowance which daughter will need. I looked up the weather for Granada it's showing 25, so about the same as Venice, hope it stays like that.
Good to hear you didn't do any serious damage from your fall Fiona you are only just getting better, don't want any set backs.
Going to stay over at my daughters tomorrow, Chloe is now walking, she's not even a year old yet.
Haven't seen the last two WDYTYA's they are becoming a bit samey but do want to see the Marianne Faithful one, have been watching Whitechapel instead but that's not as good as the last series, take away all the silly dramatic music and it's not scary at all.

Morning All,
Sunny here now and quite warm. I bet Fitz will be glad to have got the metal splints off Jane. I bet he will be glad when he can drive again too. I am off to hospital with OH in a few mins as he is having a bone scan. He mentioned to his doc last time about reports of extra risk of osteoporosis with the acid reflux tablets he takes as he's been on them for years now. With his parents both having osteoporosis too. I'm dropping him at the hospital and then going to M*rrisons nearby to wait for him. Better than queuing at the carpark and then crawling round trying to find a space.
Fiona your OH is a gem doing the cooking. I shall watch WDYTYA later and listen carefully for the accent and think of you!! :-) I tend to forget we all have different accents on here!! lol. OOoops, OH is ready to go now.......BBL

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Dull here today and we have that very fine misty drizzle with pale grey skies.
Thanks for the pics William. I think the tiles are really great and so colourful that they should look lovely in your garden next year. What a good buy for just a pound!! :-D
I shall have to watch Sarah on catch up too as I missed it as oh won't watch it and I watched The Wipers Times last night after he went to bed.
Done nothing but sneeze and blow my nose this morning. Had to have three attempts at making my cuppa blowing my nose inbetween. Hope I hav'nt caught my first cold of the season........ :-(

Morning everyone, Evening Kim
Didn't have much dinner last night think my appetite was a bit off, OH had made spaghetti with chicken & leeks ,one of my favourites but wasn't feeling very hungry. My elbow is fine this morning swelling gone down now there's just a bruise, a bit sore when i lean on the elbow and forget I banged it. i didn't hit my head or knock my self out, when the ladies found out that I had fallen, jokingly they said thank goodness it was little you, because they are all BIG LADIES ;-) and would have gone down with hell of a thump, one of the ladies there has bad arthritis in the hips and knees. poor Lois who never have got up off the floor.
WDYTYA was on BBC Scotland at 10.30pm last night, so I wasn't going to manage to watch it, would watch it on catch up this morning, But my lovely OH managed to get me BBC England and I managed to watch it, enjoy that one, and Sarah being from South Shields made me feel right back home again, I suppose I sound abit like her when I speak, Maybe not as strong, (JANE YOU WILL KNOW AS I THINK YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON I HAVE SPOKEN TO ON THIS THREAD) Home is just about 20 mins away along the coast. OH had digs in South Shields when he was at the Marine College there

Morning/Evening All I am up ,showered ,dressed and have got some pasties in the oven.Worn out now lol I shall do the rest of the pasties later this afternoon when I am home. After the hospital with Fitz,he wants to go to B&* and the pet shop for cat food. Then he is treating me to lunch at Prezz*.Then when I get home it is off to public exhibition of the plans for the new roads and changing of junctions on the A14 when all this housing building starts. :-S.The ONLY positive thing I can see from the whole business is that our rd will become a dead end.So no whizzing traffic.
I might see if I can see the Nurse programme on iplayer. It is all drizzly here this morning. The Pasties are ready to come out of the oven now and then I need to clean my teeth before picking up Fitz.

I've not had my shorts on today!!! We had rain here at last this afternoon and it's gone chilly now.
I agree Jane........pity we can't see photos of the thugs and thieves too!! As I said before though, I was apalled at seeing my 7 year old gt aunt's full name and address for all to see when she was lured away by a 62 year old man on a Sunday afternoon and assaulted. I can just picture the whispering and nudging as she grew up. They didn't put the man's address!!
By the time grandad was fined for not sending his daughter regularly to school she would have been 13/14 years old and about to leave school. There were also 7 other siblings by then so I imagine she was kept at home to help her mother as the 2 eldest brothers would have been working in the pit with grandad by then so there must have been endless washing to do as they had clean clothes on every day.
Frank, you should have taken your sunglasses like OH does when he has those drops. I've only had them once and it does feel weird for a while after and you can't drive or read!! What a nice nurse you saw today, makes the visit more pleasant doesn't it.
It isn't at all surprising you feel like that Mandy after what has happened.....takes a while to all sink in and come to terms with what's happened. I find funerals affect me for ages because I hate that being the last memory I have of someone.
Janes been watching Doctors.........wonder if she will be watching the new Nurses prog tonight?? :-D

Frank ,did those eye drops make your eyes look yellow? Mine did when I had those drops. The old boy did remind me of someone from the rear view.I nearly said "oh Hello Frank" lol I will be getting the ET tomorrow too Frank so will see if there is anything about Sid. I'm taking Fitz to the hospital in the morning for his post op appointment.I will sit in the coffee shop with my book until he is finished.I will enjoy doing a bit of people watching :-D
Mel thanks for the video .Your Chickens look so healthy and happy .Not like next doors :-S :-S :-S.I get so cross when I think how they are cooped up ,when they have such a huge garden that they could be free to roam in.Trouble is now they have the Alsatian he would probably kill them :-( :-(
I didn't actually get around to making those pasties but have done the filling. So tomorrow I will make them up.
Frank I will keep an eye on the post and grab your card :-D :-D.Thats really nice of you :-D

Afternoon all FINALLY,
I was at the Nurse appointment at 11.10 am this morning for my testosterone injection, and for her to look at my knee. It was our old nurse who we have known for years. She retired a few years ago, but is helping out now and again, after a BIG HUG and a kiss, for both Ros and I, she then had to find the syringes and the injection, which took ages as the regular nurse has moved things around since her days. I said shall I go out, make another appointment, and come back when you find things :-D :-D :-D We had a good chat and a laught. Made a nice change from being in and out without a pleasant word.
We then went to the Library to renew our bus pass's. which we have never used. but never know I might when I get the new one.
My Eye test was at 12.15 I must say itr was the most thorough eye test I have ever had. The cataracts are getting worse in my left eye, and have to make an appointment at the Hospital to have them removed. During the eye test, she had to put frops in my eyes to open up my pupils, which almost blinded me for two hours plus. Ros had to steer me around as I could not see anything clearly.
We then made our way to the Tob# Carvery to use the voucher , which I had from the bad experience we had last time we were there. Again Ros had to get my meal as I couldn't see across the dinning area.
We arrived home about 4.00 pm. So I have had a day out.!!!!
Jane, Didn't you recognise me with my ARS# out of my trousers ????
No more news of any P.M. on my friend, Will get the local paper tomorrow (it only comes out once a week) to see if there is any mention of anything.
Mel, the lake is along side a road, and behind bushes, so no one would think of stopping and looking. The lake is a Marina, and loads of narrow boats moored on it. But of course most are weekend and holiday boat owners, so it would have been quiet by the lake.
While sitting here the HEATING came on, so the temp. must have dropped since we came in. I went out today in shirtsleeves, I had put a jumper on, but had to take it off as I was too warm !!
Jane I am sending a card for Chris. So keep an EYE open, I don't want him to have it before he retires. lol lol
I have spoken with Conrad and Jan on a THREE WAY SKYPE connection. Everything is going well, and the weather is still very hot in Spain.
Going to get a beer, and have a sit down. Might see you all later.

Ooh Fiona, that could have been nasty.Thank heavens it wasn't your head that hit the floor. It does give you a fright when that happens doesn't it.
Maureen are you going for a week to Spain?I will be coming back from Venice just as you are going :-D.I am going to have to be really stern when I do my packing as Chris says he is NOT going to be lugging my case as well as his.My case has 4 wheels that spin in all directions so is really easy to just walk it along. The temp in Venice this week looks to be about mid 20s.I hope it isn't any hotter when we go. James has been to the Acropolis today and says it is so hot.It was nice getting some of his pics today as I recognised places from when I worked out there in the 70s.I bet it has changed a lot since then.
Ann I sometimes get the beginning of a cramp in my calf.It is usually in the morning when I wake and stretch my legs. It's blooming grim isn't it :-S :-S
I wonder if Mandy has the electric back on now.I hope that after a good sleep last night they don't feel quite so low today.
Ann I was trying to look up old Newpapers to see if there was anything about my Nana when she became a JP or Magistrate .The only thing is I don't know what year it would have been I'm guessing it would have been possibly in the 1930s in Bideford. It must have been quite unusual I would have thought for a woman to do that back then. But I haven't found anything yet.
Do you know why your Grandad didn't send his daughter to school as he should have done? As for being named and shamed I sometimes think it should be done more often (for certain things) as it might just put people off from repeating whatever that had done wrong in the first place. Actually in our local paper I have noticed that they sometimes have a 'court ' page.Where they print the names and crimes or misdemeanours of people who have attended court. It is mainly things like theft, drink driving, non payments of tv licence etc
Fiona are you doing anything special for your birthday.I hope your sore arm is better by then.
Mel OH will feel like a King tonight with all this lovely food you are dishing up for him :-D :-D.Smoked Salmon ,Steak ..it will be caviar next lol.I hope his shoulder is easier now after the injection.I have had that ,and they are painful injections :-S.
No Frank today!!!!!!!! Cooeee! Frank where the devil are you????

Just got back here now.
Oh had a cortizone (sp) injection this morning in his right shoulder and was assessed for his op on his right wrist so I am spoiling him today. He came home to smoked salmon sandwiches for lunch and I am cooking fillet steak tonight. I have a nice small peice of Cambanzola cheese for afterwards with some black grapes and walnuts.
At the mo he has buried himself in the back room but maybe having a lie down.
Just been raining here and has'nt brightened up all day. Had to bring the washing in and we had clotted cream scones with brimble jelly on, homemade.
Fiona you should have made a claim on the shop for slipping on their floor. Take care of that elbow now.......

Afternoon All,
If you have a look here Maureen it shows hotmail has been upgraded to microsoft outlook.com, which may be why you are having problems. (may be nothing to do with the downloads) I've had a quick shufty and it seems you can't change back and that the layout and order of emails is different. Some questions are answered by clicking questions on the left hand side.
http://www.itpro.co.uk/email-clients/19625/my-hotmail-account-has-been-changed-outlookcom-how-do-i-switch-it-back
I bet you are really looking forward to your hols, but what to pack is always tricky, especially with weight limits.
Fiona thank goodness you didn't hit your head!! The shop really should have taken precautions with the wet floor. I bet you were quite shaken up after falling too.
I woke up at 6.30am (the usual barking!!) turned slightly and my left leg was 'gripped' in one of those agonising cramp spasms!! :-0 Leg was off the bed suspended but I daren't move it in any direction for a few minutes till the pain started to subside. It's those agonising moments when you desperately feel you need to 'move' to ease the pain, but it doesn't and can even feel worse!! It still feels sore in the calf even now. :-S We decided to start a bit of weeding and trimming in the garden this morning and filled 3 plastic sacks!! I also got the red onions up and put them in a box in the greenhouse to finish drying out. OH picked 3 more cues. Then we went to the carvery for lunch and afterwards went to B*Q in the city as we need a bigger spike for the new rotary line.
OH is finding the schools he has keep recommending him to others and he could be working all hours if he wanted! He's taken just 1 more small one on so that's 6 now which really is as much as he wants.
I'm really enjoying the old newspapers on line. People don't realise how much tougher things were in the late 1800s, early 1900s. People would be fined at the Petty Sessions for swearing in the street or even in their own house if it was abutting a street! Stealing a single turnip would mean a fine too and I read a case of a woman with children moving into a parish and being charged with being destitute and sent to the workhouse. I think I mentioned before that grandad was fined for not sending his daughter to school regularly. Another relative was fined for not having a name and address on his dog's collar! All these things were published in the local paper with your name and address for all your neighbours to see.
I think OH ran out of steam today after all he did yesterday as well. He went for a lie down about half an hour ago and it has gone VERY quiet!! lol.

I'm here!!! Just been texting my friend, she is in the south of France on holiday, making me very jealous, she is sipping wine looking out on the beach. I must have a look at the weather in Spain soon, don't know if I should take winter coat and boots or strappy tops and sandals. You must be off a week before me Jane, was it Venice you were going to?
Can't say I have seen many vagrants around either, very easy to judge but you never know what circumstances landed them there, I would say ...............there but for the grace of God ................... but you are kinder than me Jane, don't think I would have approached him.
I've had a bit of a niggling week, first off I got a flat tyre, good job son-i-l spotted it and changed it for me but I still had to go and get that fixed, then I bought some phones from e.bay and couldn't get them to work, I am so not technically minded, they didn't come with instructions so I downloaded instructions off the internet which has messed up my home page and I can't get on to Hot Mail and access my e.mails, any ideas please Ann, I needn't have bothered with the download as I got the phones to work anyway. Oh well, if that's the worst of my worries life can't be too bad :-D

Afternoon All
Been pouring down all day here, went to coffee this morning walked down as the lady who usually picks me up has gone on holiday to Australia for 3 weeks, and was drenched by the time I got down, got money back from my jumpers in M&S, and by the time I got to the coffee shop my jeans were soaked. With it being so wet, I took a tumble in the toilets, as the tiled floor was wet, fell on my elbow , I now have a lovely bruise and it's also skinned, told the waitress and she told the manager that the floor was slippy and i had fallen, he came over to ask how I was then went and mopped the bathroom floor, I'm really ok just was bit stunned at the time.
