There's a lovely photo of my late Mother in my keepsafe.

Feel free to see how bonny she was ,what a lovely head of hair she had.

When I work out how I will post it as my avatar.

There's a couple of pictures of Ellen in there as well.

William ,I hope your GP has good handwriting !!!!!! They are notoriously bad.I have one here lol.If he ever does a prescription for me I am always asked by the pharmacist what something says. :-S Glad you had a good time at the party.Seems like it was a weekend for BBQs :-D

Mandy I still get rubbed little toes from a pair of ballet type shoes I bought a few months ago.I need to keep trying them but knowing my poor toes are goinr to hurt it puts me off.I must just wrap those little tootsies in plasters and persevere.

No thunder or rain here again.Just a small amount of rain this morning. This afternoon has been quite bright with some sun.I have done a load of windows.I think they look a bit better, but bet no-one else notices :-S

I just tried to ring the dentist and there is a recorded message to say they are closed due to unforeseen circumstances and will reopen tomorrow......I wonder what the reason is.I must remember to call again in the morning.
Now I'm going to shred a cabbage which will be cooked with Bacon and Onion later.Hope I don't find too many bugs in the cabbage :-S

Short haired old boy here,

Got down to hairdressers to find my "GIRL" wasn't there. Kim, one of the owners came to the chair, and started cutting my hair. When I asked where Asha was. She went into chapter and verse.. She walked out of her job two weeks ago, while Kim was on holiday, leaving the other owner to run the place alone. It appears, she has a new boyfriend, who is "BRAIN WASHING" her. She has changed her name to a more religious one, dresses every lunchtime to go to the MOSK , and renounce all her sins from childhood. She has gone back to work where she was before. They think to get away from her recent past. I don't think I will be going to find her, I will carry on with the same hairdressers.

We had shopping trip round Morriso##, even though Ros was there on Saturday.. The trolley was full to capacity . The only thing I wanted and got were some Pilchards in Tomato sauce :-D :-D :-D

Ros made an appointment to have her ROOTS done on Thursday, but when we got home she finds she is at the dentist at that time. So she's now booked for Wednesday afternoon. So she looks well booked up from tomorrow till Friday, then it's the Blisworth Canal Festival. She is helping running a stall Sat and Sun. So I look like being "HOME ALONE" from Wednesday onwards. Anyone want to come and BABY SIT me ????

Turned out to be a funny old day, overcast and ready for rain, but she has got two lines full of washing dried. Still looks like rain.

Thanks for all your good wishes. All my tablets are in the bag I have to take, just going to put Ros's mobile No. in there, as they need a contact Number.

At last!!!! Haven't been able to get here for several days now.

Before I backtrack on all the posts I've missed, just want to say we had a lovely afternoon over in Nuneaton on Saturday just gone. It was my grandson Oliver's 19th birthday (for this Wednesday) and there was the obligatory BBQ and later, the obligatory heavy downpour! It was lovely to have everybody together again and my son & his family were up from London. His little daughter Carla is looking and sounding just like her Spanish mother, Lola. It was a real laugh hearing her speak pigeon English, and coming out with the same expressions. Kids, they are wonderful.

I had to go back to my doctor this morning, repeat visit from last Monday at his request. The computer system was down and it was utter chaos. No new appointments, no prescriptions unless an emergency. When I got in to see him he had to write every thing down by hand so I told him he'd need to see a doctor about writers cramp! It's great having technology but when it doesn't work properly, it's different matter (GR take note!).

Going to make a cuppa, be back shortly.

Afternoon All,

Your Lilies are beautiful Mandy. :-D I'm hoping to do a few Sardines on the little throwaway barbeque I got.....hope we don't end up throwing them away too! :-S OH loves Sardines and has them about twice a week, so hopefully not, but who knows! I've grilled Mackerel in the oven before and they were nice, but not something I could eat a lot of although the oils in them are good for you.

That sounded quite a feast Mel. I'm not mad keen on barbeques as I cut back on the meat I eat since many years ago, as for eating sausages....yuk. all those snouts and ears. I would have enjoyed any chicken and the salad and deserts though. :-) The Pimms sounds nice.......I used to love the original one when I was young, with mint, cucumber and strawberries in it.

Not long to wait now then Frank........it will be all over soon and hopefully your knee will be a lot better. Will you be in and out the same day or will you have to stay in?

We enjoyed The Mill again last night, but as OH said, 'it is a bit gloomy, but that's how it was.' That poor little girl being dumped in the middle of nowhere to find her way to a village she didn't know and hopefully charity......didn't look like she made it though.

It was supposed to rain all day today so we went out on errands this morning. OH is risking doing more painting now so I will do some more jetwashing the path up the side.

It doesn't look like I can get the wall pots I wanted.......the makers only sell to trade and the local stockists will only 'bulkbuy'. There is an internet seller but I don't want to pay £18 carriage!!

Jane Report 5 Aug 2013 14:39

Not long to wait Frank. It's normal for any Jewellery to be removed for any op ,or sometimes you can tape over a wedding ring (well that used to be the case). Do you have to remove any nail varnish ;-)it said that on James letter lol.I think James came home with a very thick padded bandage and crutches after he had the same thing done.

Mel it sounded a grand Birthday Party Yesterday.I think the Pim** Blackcurrant and Elderflower is new this year.

Had a nice few hours with my friend this morning. We chatted and drank coffee for ages in the conservatory .

Now I must clean a few windows :-S

Good luck for tomorrow Frank we will all be thinking of you. Hope everything goes to plan. I remember when oh had his new lens in his eye we have to be there at the hospital at 6.30am. I dropped him off and went shopping in Barnstaple and he rang me when he was ready to be collected. I had only just got in the garden centre when he rang!!

Going shopping now so see you all later on.

Bye! ;-)

Here I am, !!

Harvey left last night about 7,30 pm. Ros rang him this morning to see how Lara is. (Bit of family blow up it appears) He got stuck in traffic for over TWO HOURS due to an accident at Newport Pagnell so didn't get home till after 10 pm.

Woke up to rain at 9.00am. Sky is beginning to clear now.

I'm all showered and dressed, just waiting for Ros, then I'm off for a haircut. and see my "Girl friend" ASHA. Think I will call in Morriso## and buy them CREAM CAKES they love them :-D :-D

Had a job getting my Wedding ring off this morning, I think it's only the THIRD time in 35 years, and that had been for operations. I can't understand why they need my ring off to operate on my knee :-0 :-0 :-0 :-S :-S :-S

Last night Ros got herself Sardines in Tomato sauce with a salad. Later I fancied some pilchards. after turning the cupboard out, I found some, but they were in BRINE. never had them before, and won't have them again. :-| :-| Gave me terrible indigestion.

I often ( well not very) have sardines on the BBQ. I put them between the wire trap thing, and just keep turning them over till cooked LOVELY

Would you believe, Ros picked up some COD from the reduced counter, and when I unpacked it. The reduced price was DEARER than the original. That's going back.

Spoke to Lewis and Julia last night on Skype. We now, when we have finished talking say "OVER" otherwise we are all trying to talk together, and can't hear what each other are saying. Lewis sais "PAPPY" in that sort of voice, I said "WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW" For my birthday can I have FIFA !4 for my X box 360. You can order it now, and it will be sent out in September. So that's another present out of the way. Ordered through Amerzo# last night.. It's marvellous how you can tell by the tone in their voice when they want something :-D :-D :-D

I think we might have a late lunch at Morriso## or somewhere today, save cooking tonight. We can then have a "ROLL" later :-D :-D :-D (I should be so lucky)

Must get the alarm set for 6.00 am tomorrow. I have to be in the hospital by 7.15. The department doesn't open till 7.00, so I must be on the early list. WILL I BE GLAD WHEN IT'S DONE.

See you later. BYE

Morning All ad Evening Kim,

Raining here again but just steady light rain.

The party yesterday was great. A big BBQ of all kinds of meat and salad to much really and it did'nt all get eaten. Followed buy pavlova and cheesecake. I just had the pavlova. Al kinds of drink and I had the new Pimm's Elderflower and blackcurrant. Really fruity and a lovely summer drink and I think I shall have to buy a bottle. It was served in great big Pimm's jugs and full of strawberry's blueberries, cuecumber, pear, raspberries and apple. Delish............................................................. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

There was birthday cake to follow but everyone was so full it did'nt get cut. I am sure when oh goes ringing he will get some then to bring home.

Shopping today I think as I seem to have run out of all the usual things but still have plenty of meat in the freezer.

Ann it is so upsetting to think how that little boy suffered at the hands of his mother and step father. After the Baby P and Victoria Columbiay(sp) you would have thought this could never happen again.Sadly it probably always will when some unfortunate child will slip through the net .People I think now need to feel able to speak up and voice any concerns if at any time they might be worried about the welfare of a child without fear of backlash if concerns should be unfounded.

Maureen my Sister loves a Mac D breafast.I really don't like them at all .But I do like a cheeseburger from there. Not that I have had one for years now.I remember when the children were little we had a couple of Birthday Parties there .This was the days before Happy Meals. It was lots of fun and Ronald MacDonal* would always be there lol. When I think of the parties they had and all the expense of hiring a hall or whatever, party bags, and maybe a magician.Swimming parties was another.
Do children still have these kind of parties? Or was it a phase.I always felt that some Mothers had to out do other parties.I did get a lady down our road to make the birthday cakes as I was pants at that.I still can't do big cakes :-S

It is getting so dark now and I think rain is not too far away.Chris still keeping watch over the BBQ.It's just the veg kebabs to finish now.He just looked in the window singing
I'm H.A.P.P.Y ,H.A.P.P.Y I know I am I'm sure I am
I'm H.A.P.P.Y.......(NOT)..Seeing him looking in made me realise my windows need a clean on the insides lol.He is going to take his plate into the Summerhouse ,but I think James and Me will eat in here.......and it is ready :-D :-D

Jane, i never fancy fish on the BBQ ,we tried some Sardines on there one year and threw them away ,no one fancied them once they were cooked !!
We haven't had one BBQ this year yet :-(

Been nice and sunny all day but it's now clouded over .

Changed my photo ,my Lily's are now all opened up in the pot ,and they smell beautiful .

Jane

Jane Report 4 Aug 2013 18:41

Mackerel is in the bin :-S.I got it all prepared and we looked at them ,then looked at eachother and shook our heads . :-S.
The weather is blustery and miserable and Chris is sat out there looking after sausages, pork kebabs ,lamb steaks and veg kebabs. He doesn't look a happy bunny lol.I think I will set the table indoors now.Oh well,I'm sure it will taste delicious :-D :-D

We all feel droopy so i think it will be a 3rd early night in a row.I'm off to coffee with a friend in the morning which will be nice as I haven't seen her for a couple of months. She has been on a cruise recently so I'm hoping she has some nice photos.

Best go and see how things are cooking

Had a day out yesterday with son and family didn't get home till nearly 11 and then straight to bed.

I was watching Gardeners World on Friday and Monty said to cut back the mint and you should get another load this year.

I have been very productive today in the garden, well it wasn't exactly sunbathing weather so I got a lot of jobs done. I never make lists, one of my girls does and at the top she writes ....... get up ........... like you'd forget to do that.

Fingers crossed for your daughter Fiona, just getting an interview is an achievement these days.

Such a load of rubbish on TV all week and then tonight at least 4 programmes I would like to see but they clash and I don't have a recorder, well I do, but it's not set so I'd probably end up with something completely different and I don't have that other thing where you can watch it days later.

I can't resist a kitten they are so cute but then I have to remind myself they will grow into not so cute cats.

Have been eating a lot of rubbish lately so it's back to salads, or compost heap as my girls describe it. had a McD***alds breakfast yesterday, it was horrible but I ate it anyway and then we have pizzas later, so must eat healthy this week before I go off to Kent for son-i-l birthday next weekend and eating and drinking all the wrong things again.

Afternoon All,

I thought retirement age for a full pension used to be age 55 for firefighters but had now gone back up to age 60 for new recruits? If it was like the Civil Service you could finish earlier on health grounds with less pension. Rules are always changing on these things though and it's hard to keep track.

I was reading more about that poor little boy today Frank....really upsetting. The poor little mite rummaging through bins at school for food, gobbling birthday cake and filling his pockets from the communal fruit bowl. He probably got told off for taking it as well, after his mum telling the school he had an eating disorder. Only about baby Matteo's weight when he died and covered in bruises and injuries, so how could the school not have noticed? With the ordeal he was going through at home I can't believe his behaviour and demeanour wouldn't have been affected at school. If he was losing weight and gobbling any food he could get, alarm bells should be clanging, whatever his mum said and they should have at least asked her for some kind of evidence from the doctor to support what she said. The school nurse did the right thing, but then a Child Protection Expert decided to give him worming tablets, instead of be alert to the potential more serious situation he was no doubt trained to look for and could have acted on. What sickened me as well was that they offered counselling to the teachers at his school. After the sustained cruelty he had suffered heaven forbid that they should feel any guilt or upset after the part they played in letting him down!! I think if I made the rules I would be a right 'nanny state' where helpless, little children are concerned. :-0 :-D :-D
