Frank Report 10 Sep 2013 12:12

Morning all/Evening Kim,

Madam was at the Drs this morning for a blood test. She has made me an appointment with the nurse for tomorrow, for my injection and to look at my knee. One cut is more swollen then the other two, and very sore to the touch. I changed the dressings after my shower this morning.

Madam and Carolyn are off out as usual for a Tuesday, some shopping bits I need, and two cheques to go into the back.

It has come to light, that another chap was fishing with SID till 3.00 pm so whatever happened, it happened after that.. It appears he had his Tackle box over his shoulder, when he was found by the divers. So he could have been packing up, and taking his box to the car, then stumbled and fell in. It's all guess work at the moment.

Will, I was excused collars, when in the RAF. I had A BIG BOIL come up on the collar line, and the M.O. couldn't do anything with it. so I went around with my note in my pocket, because I was forever getting stopped my NCOs and OFFICERS asking where was my collar and tie.!!! don't asked me why. :-D :-D He has always had strange names for all the cats they have had.

What a great idea for a birthday present Fiona, something to look at and remember for a long time.

We had a HOG visitor last night, little calling cards across the patio this morning. I must plug in the automatic security light. Then I can pop into the conservatory to see him.

There must be a bug going round between Jane, Ann and myself. I still haven't eaten and don't feel hungry.. But will have a tin of soup in a while.

Sheets blowing on the line, I must keep an eye on them, in case of a shower.

See you later.

Fiona

Fiona Report 10 Sep 2013 11:09

Just been out to hang some washing & noticed a lot of soil spread across the patio area, looks like something has been digging. called OH and he said it looks like a squirrel could have been digging a hole to perhaps bury something maybe his food supply, . messy devil (at first I was about to blame Kiah but thought hang on a minute . not seen kiah since last Friday and this hole has just appeared over night as there was no mess when I shut the back curtains last night , will need to go out and sweep it up.

That sounds a good idea Fiona. That castle you made was good, thanks for the pic.

Jane the birds seem to be feeding more from the tables etc now. I have been filling mine up a lot lately. Which reminds me I need a BIG fat ball out for mine.

Morning Everyone. Evening Kim

Sunny here at the moment but OH has been to the dustbin this morning and said there was a chill in the air,
Going to a friend's house this afternoon, one of the ladies I worked with in the nursery. we have been sorting out old nursery photo's as the caretaker of the church where we had the nursery is 90 on the 21st September and all nursery staff have been invited to his birthday party, we were wondering what to give him as a birthday present and came up with the idea of a album full of pictures of the children & staff who went to the nursery , Mr Thompson used to pop into nursery every morning to see the kids, so we thought that would be the a nice reminder of his days with us :-D :-D

Good to see our William posting and letting us all know he is ok and has been busy.

All this redorating thats going on I wonder if I could get oh to paint the kitchen. It needs it badly. He talked about painting the ceiling white!!!!!! but I don't fancy having to wash it down first as it is pine and when we all smoked indoors it must be covered in nicotine. I would like a nice lemon on the walls though. The yellow on there at the mo is a bit dark for a north facing room.

Off now myself so see you all in the morning.

Night night.

I'm still in shorts every day and am sitting here in them now with short sleeves with no heating on. Still sleeping with just a sheet and summer duvet halfway up with the window open. No rain here today other than a spot or two. I must be degrees hotter than most folk....today I was walking around M*S and folk had coats or jumpers on and some even had boots on. :-S

Mandy, lovely pics of the wedding. I love the look on little Lacey's face watching from her pushchair!

The pink castle is great Fiona.....I like the drawbridge....my word where did those 4 years go!

Jane, what a shock finding that bone! It's a good jobit wasn't smaller really or you might not have noticed it till you swallowed.....doesn't bear thinking about!! :-0 I hope they compensate you well. Congrats on being a Gt Aunt again.....a little playmate for William. Good that Hannah has nothing at the flat now.....it will help her look forward I think. I did think eventually they'd be able to find a way forward, but obviously not.

Glad you had a good time at Luton Hoo Frank and had a peek in the posh dining room where your 'friends' had lunch!! :-) I bet the other couple will feel strange on the cruise without your friend there. I bet the Rag Doll kitten is lovely......I think Kim has those sort of cats.....supposed to be very laid back I think.

Nice to hear from Kim, Maureen and William........we notice when you aren't here!!

Yes we enjoyed What Remains again last night Mel. It's becoming spot the Lark Rise actors in programmes as you say!

I have picked a load more runners, toms, carrots and cues today and the leeks and beetroot are ready now too. I've skinned and frozen a lot of toms......I like them on toast.

I have felt a bit off colour today too....must be a bug. Felt a bit whoozy and tired too. Hope I feel on form in the morning as I'm out with my sister.

Off to bed now too :-0

Frank ,you could have supped the tea out of the saucer lol.Good Lewis coming to your rescue :-D
I hope that the PM does show a reason for your friends death. How sad for his OH now .I bet their friends felt a bit bad going on the cruise, but then it would have been a pity for them to miss it as well .Just a very sad time for them all. :-(

We have Individual Beef Wellingtons tonight.(I don't feel hungry),but Chris bought them and they cost a bomb so i had better make an effort.

Frank I hope you get over your Icky bic feeling.I feel a bit like that tonight which is probably why I don't really fancy much.It is nearly ready ,so better set the table now.

William

William Report 9 Sep 2013 19:39

Yes, I posted my note on here above - been busy making 'builders tea'.
Next thing I'll be excused boots!!! :-)

Frank Report 9 Sep 2013 19:28

Evening all,

Nice to see the absentees coming into class. !!! Did you bring a note, saying why you were absent lol.

Jane would you believe, I picked up my first cup of tea and my finger and thumb haven't got the best grip on the tiny cup handle. It slid round in my fingers, and filled the saucer and spilled onto the table cloth. Lewis helped clear it up. Embarrassed or what !!! So yes in some respects I had my pinkie out. !!!
That dinning room was something different, DOWNTON ABBEY type place.

Had a very lazy day again today. I prepared and cooked dinner, but couldn't eat anything myself. Felt a bit" icky bick". So just Ros eaten tonight. I cooked a stuffed belly of pork, and it still had the "NIPPLES" on it :-0 :-0 :-0. I washed and dried up while she ate her dinner. She's now watching her soaps.

No news of my friends Post mortem. I suppose being the weekend, there could be a few to do. (what a job) !!! Their friends who were going on the cruise with them HAS STILL GONE. Valerie can get her money back on the insurance, but the other couple can't so they would have lost out.

We put the heating on this afternoon, and I had to put on long trousers . We have had a lot of rain today, and everywhere feels damp and cold. Only had the heating on for an hour, but it soon warmed everywhere through.

Jane Report 9 Sep 2013 18:49

How nice to see all our missing friends at last :-D.Kim,Maureen and William all on the same day too.
Well that was quite a thunderstorm. The internet went down and the TV lost the signal ,and I even felt that chilly I decided to put the heating on :-S.I expect I will fell too warm soon lol and it will be going off again.

Fiona that was quite a Pink Castle.I'm sure Sofia had lots of fun :-D.I too find it hard to believe that she is now 4.Remember when we were all sat waiting for her birth???
There have been a fair number of babies born here since then hasn't there.

Frank it sounds like you had a GRAND time at Luton Hoo.Did you look in the restaurant with the Marble walls. That is the one Fitz treated Ann and I to lunch.Imagine what it must have been like back in the days when his ancestors were there having all those Weekend Parties !!!!!
Did you stick your little pinky finger our when you were drinking your tea ;-)

Looks like Chris is just pulling into the drive .He is a bit late tonight.

William Report 9 Sep 2013 16:18

Before I back track and look at recent posts, just want to say 'Hi', like Maureen, I'm back.
Been rather hectic here, besides doctors appointments. We had our utility room flat roof converted to a sloping roof, no more re-roofing, warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer. The chaps got it done in a day, but I guess I've spent more time getting ready for them and now making the inside of the room what we want it to be.
I had to clear away plants, bins from the side entry etc so they could get on with the job. It all takes time.
Then, when they were gone, I stripped off all the polystyrene tiles from the ceiling that I'd put up to keep it a bit warmer. Now the ceiling looks a mess, some have pulled off the surface where I was bit over zealous with the adhesive. I'll have to get it all properly prepared before it finally comes together. It looks like there were several difference sized boards put up and some of the areas around the edges needs some work doing. Where to start.
Then today we had our annual boiler service before the winter. All AOK and luckily he was here fairly early.
It was our 34th anniversary yesterday and although Carmel wasn't too well we went over to our daughters yesterday evening where she cooked us a lovely roast meal. She was telling us that the new bathroom that she paid a (lot) for isn't right, there are at least four faults and to get them put right she has to go through their service team. All that after four or five weeks of completion! Then she was having a new fire place fitted and the surround was made incorrectly. No wonder we like getting only one job done at a time. However, we have a policy of paying when the job is DONE - she paid up front and of course is getting the run around.

Anyway, I hope everyone has been OK on here, I've just about kept up with Frank's emails and one or two others of you who have sent emails. I have some photos to email out sometime too, when I get round to it.

Last week we went to see Carmel's cousins window at Long Eaton. We had a lovely drive there, no traffic on the road, it was just like the old days. After our visit we went into Long Eaton town, such as it is, but it has some interesting and different shops. We saw an old fashioned 'haberdashers', what a treat. There were goods hanging up out side off the awnings and the shop chappie had one of those long poles with a hook on the end to reach things down. What a blast from the good old past.

Anyway, that's about all for now, going to have 40 winks. We seem to have done nothing but get up very early this last week or so.

O THERE YOU ARE YOU NAUGHTY GIRL.

I was worrying about you and you have been sitting in the garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Night before last oh told me off for not putting the camera out. I said it takes me so long to look through all the pics I am not getting anything done. I did put it out as he said you won't know what your missing which made me feel guilty. So I put it out!!! I got one pic of THREE hedgehogs and one video. I was so pleased I did put it out after all. Now I can at least say we have seen three together and people will beleive me. Will send them on to you lot but I know some people won't be able to open them. Hope the others can as it is now set up to take 30 seconds of video as I was'nt seeing enough of the good ones.

Sun is out here and I hav't done any washing today........blast

Maureen Report 9 Sep 2013 15:27

Hello Everyone, I'm back, well I haven't been away just very busy sitting in the garden with a cold drink and a book most days, making the most of the sunshine but the weather has changed now, definitely not sitting out weather, it's drizzly rain today.

Have only read todays posts, it would take me forever to read all the others, good to see everyone is well and thanks for all the e.mails I have read all of those.

My goodness Fiona, Sofia is 4 already where does the time go. Finley will be starting nursery this month, I don't envy d-i-l taking him, it's so upsetting for the first week, mine cried everytime which started me off.

I enjoyed reading your account of your day Frank, it certainly brought back memories of every Sunday morning come rain or shine or even snow standing cheering the boys footie team on. Doesn't sound like the supporters are any better now than when I used to go and the poor old Ref would get abuse from both sides.

Chocolate outer then inside is soft as clarts

Then you find the crunchie bits. I thought all my fillings had come out!

And you have to pay for them
