Morning all/Evening Kim,

Where shall I start. !!

We set off from here with plenty of time to spare. But were a bit late due to holdups on the Motorway.

We all went in Harvey's car, with a wheelchair in the boot for me. The football match was in Luton on a school playing field complex. on the LUCY FARM ESTATE. If you have ever watched the Police programmes on SK# it is quite notorious for trouble.

Kick of was at 2.00 pm. The opposing teams supporters on one side of the pitch and ours on the other. The opposition supporters were very intimidating, and the Referee was only a young chap, and was shouted at the whole time by them. The match was quite physical and Lewis's team were awarded FOUR PENALTIES. !!! and ended up winning 6 - 2

It poured with rain during the match and turned Sooooo cold Br Br. We had a bit of cover under some trees, but were glad when the match was over, so we could retreat to the car and some heat.

We went back to Harvey's to wash and change, before setting off to Luton Hoo.
What an impressive place it is. Someone to open the car doors, and help us out. A gentleman at the door and show us to the lounge. We stopped on the was to have a nose around. I spied an evening menu, and was so surprised to see that is was £99.00 per head.

We were shown to our table in the lounge over looking the golf course and flower beds. The tea consisted of Finger sandwiches, (five different fillings) some in white bread, brown bread, nutty bread and beetroot bread. All very nice, with the choice of about 15 different teas. Cakes were bought in on three tier displays, with more tea and finally Scones cream and jam. We all agreed, including Lewis that it was a beautiful afternoon, We left there at 7.30 pm. As I walk down to the entrance I passed the dinning room. It was packed with people. AND THEY SAY there's no MONEY AROUND. !!!

When we got back to Harvey's they bought down their new kitten. It's A "RAG DOLL" breed. First introduced in America in the 60s. I have never seen a kitten that is so beautiful. The cost was over £400.00. and I nearly fell of my chair when they to everythinld me. That had to sign a contract, to say they would have to have it neuted ,(the chop) and not attempt to breed with her. It is worth a look at the breed, it's something different.

Sorry I have gone on about my day, but I did enjoy it. !!

Glad everything went of off o.k. with the wedding Mandy, and that Hannah's move out, went off without any upsets.

Not a very nice day here today, very overcast and damp.

Last night, out of the blue, I went to get my tablets, and as I walked passed the dinning room radiator IT WAS HOT. The central heating had come on so it had turned cold enough for it to come on.

Knee still swollen and leaking from one of the openings, will keep an eye on in, and see the nurse if it gets any bigger.

Hello everyone, my goodness I got on here first go. Where are all the error messages and computer shut downs. It is good to be here and I thank everyone for their emails and photos, plus catching up with a few on FB.

We have worked out that if i don't touch the computer whilst another electrical appliance is being turned on, it will stay on. Anyway I'm going by that theory at the moment, time will tell.

I can't believe we are into September, where is time going? Just got through Christmas and Easter and now spring is here. Winter was the warmest on record and the temps. have been up a bit. Lots of birds singing, but no rain apart from a shower last night. I hope we get some rain soon as the garden is very dry.

Healthwise I'm not good. Always exhausted and spending too much time on the couch or in bed. I have a few movies to watch and catching up on some of my favourite shows. Life is very mundance indeed. Thank you to those who have sent me special messages. I have appreciated them greatly. Doctor not until the 17th, so still no word on my odd blood work.

We are getting some white plantation shutters on the back windows to replace the old verticals. I am so looking forward to the change, they should look so lovely with the view out to the bush. On our sliding door we are getting a panel blind - 4 huge panels, similar in a way to verticals, but very attractive with a pellmet covering the tracking. I'm not sure the cats will like the change. ;-)

I won't be able to catch up on all the posts, it would be too much for me. I do hope you are all well. I know there have been some holidays and I think Jane you are off to Venice soon, is that right. Take care and I will try to be on here on a more regular basis if technology allows. :-S 9.02 pm

P.S. We have a new PM, yay. I hope the population will give him a chance to do his job. Change will not come overnight and there is lots to be done to sort the mess left by the last lot.

Morning All,Evening Kim

Thanks for the photo's Ann of the wedding, like Jane says it sounds just like the weddings abroad, lovely cake and all the wedding party look fantastic

When Victoria got married 6 years ago in Italy, the same happened to us on our way to the wedding,as there are no car/taxi companies in Fano , Daniele uncle had a big car so he took Victoria & OH to the church. and me and the rest of the wedding guests from the UK were in a mini bus, that felt strange going to my daughters wedding in a mini bus :-| anyway we had to go through a few tiny villages till we got to the church and and as we drove along cars were beeping horns as they saw the wedding car,as it was all decked out in ribbons and flowers, I was quite emotional, it was nice to hear so many strangers wishing her well.

Glad your ok Jane after your sandwich, that is one hell of a size chicken bone,

Well we had a busy day yesterday, I went to church in the morning and in the afternoon, OH dropped Katherine & I at the local leisure centre where Sofia was having her birthday party, she and 15 of her nursery pals, played on the Jungle Jim for 50 mins then they went into a small room where they had some food and birthday cake, Sofia was so excited she had to blow 3 times till the candle went out. then they all played a couple of games, Pass the parcel and musical bumps :-D when it was time to go home Sofia was so emontional she started to cry, as she thought Victoria had gone with out her, she was just saying goodbye to the other mums, anyway OH came back for us and we went to Victoria's house for dinner and another birthday cake, (Italian style sponge with lots of fruit & custard. made by Daniele's mum Adele who is here in Scotland for two weeks) Sofia attacked the big black bin liner which was full of gifts and also our Pink castle with our gifts, amazing to think that's her 4 years old now
:-D

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Bit cloudy and then sunny here today. Definately much cooler. Think I shall be putting the bigger quilt on the bed as my knees were cold the night before last. I wore jim jam bottoms last night.

Well don't know whether to go shopping today as I only went and got a few things last week late. May go tomorrow. I really don't know where the days go.

Enjoyed What Remains last night on the telly. Why is it do you think they often have two people from Larkrise to Candleford in programs? Here we have Laura's mum and one of the sisters who run the drapers, Ruby. The Mill had Fisher Bloom in it and Mr Selfridge had Lasura in it and someone else I think.

Morning/Evening All
KIm say Hi to everyone.

Mel yes you are behind the times lol.The flat was just with John. She will just have to move on and look ahead now. She'll do it.

Mel you might be right about the bone being part of the wish bone.I just can't believe how something as big and solid as that could get through and into a sandwich.I will wait and see what happens now.I will probably get vouchers or such for more Chicken Sandwiches :-S :-S

It is raining a bit this morning and a definite chilly feel.I don't think it will be too long before we try out the Woodburner :-D.
Now i need to go any buy some brown paper to wrap a box with pressie in for the new baby.

Mandy the wedding sounded real fun. What a good idea to put bowls of sweets out for favours. So the weather held ok then. We were all worried it may rain.

Jane was'nt the flat Hannah's in the first place? Did'nt she have a flat mate at first or am I behind the times? Clean break now then it seems a shame as you thought this was the one!! He seemed such a nice chap. It just goes to show you never know anyone until you have lived with them. Glad she is now with friends.

That chicken bone could have got stuck in your teeth or your throat.

Just watching Vera.

Mandy I loved your pics of the wedding (as you know from my message)
Yes all Starbuc** sandwiches etc are all ready made up and pre packed. That was a huge bone in the scheme of things and could have been fatal had it got stuck in someone's throat.(espcially a child) .It was even very sharp on one end :-S

Little Baby James's eye has gone down a bit now although still very bruised.Mum and Baby should be going home tomorrow all being well :-D

We had a heavy shower a while ago, hubby had just about finished cutting the front grass and down it came, i had a couple of old sheets on the line that hubby had used as dust sheets so i had to whip them in quick!!

Have sent wedding photo's ,so if anyone didn't get them you'll have to say .

Gosh Jane that was a quick birth , poor little boy having a black eye ,bless him .

That's not very nice finding a chicken bone in your sandwich ,imagine getting that stuck in your throat !!
I've never been in a starbu*ks ,do they have the sandwiches all ready made so you help your self ? if so i wonder if they removed the other chicken sandwiches ,some one never removed the bones very well when the chicken was cut up :-S

Well I am home at last .I feel like I have been through the wringer :-S.All a bit emotional ,but Hannah has now left the flat and has no more of her things there. They are split between us and her friend Polly who took several large boxes and 2 large suitcases to put in her shed(for now) I have no idea what we have brought home, but the car was stacked to the roof.
We stopped off on the way to drop her off at St Albans at a service station and had a bit of lunch. It was Starbuc** .I chose a Chicken and salad sandwich ,and to my horror found myself chewing on something very hard.It turned to be a chicken bone a good inch long :-0 :-0.I took a pic of it and then took it back to the counter. The Manageress came and sat down with me at a spare table and i had to give all my details ,like address email address and what I had found. The Manageress was quite horrified to see such a large bone.I was just thankful a child hadn't eaten it.

Well we have a new baby in the family :-D :-D.Baby James was born at 9.38 last night.Another Gt Nephew. His mum(her name is Ranti) went to the hospital at 9 pm as she felt something was going on.She had no contractions ,just suddenly felt the need to push ,and out he popped.A little tiddler weighing only 5 lb 6 oz.He is 2 weeks early. His name is James. He looks so tiny and has a black eye (bless him) looks like he did a round with Mike Tyson.

Mandy the wedding sounded mad and great fun.Just like the ones I have seen and been to abroad. All the hooting and tooting in the cars ,the sweets etc.Brilliant :-D
Fitz's OH is half Lebanese and I remember her going to a wedding in the Lebanon a few years ago and it sounded just like the one you went to.

Frank I hope you have enjoyed your posh tea today at Luton Hoo.That is where Ann and I went with Fitz as it was his Ancestors who owned it before it being turned into a Hotel .It is a beautiful place. They used it as their weekend residence !!!!!!!!.

I will be BL.

Afternoon All,

Well, it was certainly a different kind of wedding Mandy!! I like the sound of all the different layers in the wedding cake and the buffet style food. I bet the grandchildren enjoyed it all. Looking forward to seeing a few photos. :-D

Frank, I think you will love it at Luton Hoo.......we did!! It is quite posh, but the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant but the poshest dining room is in the house and is very sumptuous with tapestries on the wall. I'm sure you will enjoy it very much. :-)

Adter lunch we went to the church at Burbage to see if there were any of OH's rellies there, but there was a wedding on so we decided to look another time. They wouldn't want us appearing on their wedding photos!! lol. We were surprised to see there was a wedding there on a Sunday, what with Sunday services being on.

Looking forward to the last episode of 'What Remains' tonight. The Corrie girl looks a good bet for winning Strictly just seeing her in the group dance......it could soon change though!

Afternoon all,

Well the wedding went off ok, but i've never been to one like it :-0 the bridesmaid came in a huge limo and went back for the bride and her father ....it was when the groom arrived that the fun started , the whole family of the groom arrived in huge cars all decked out in the colours of the Syrian flag ....you could hear them coming before you could see them as they were honking the car horns all through the streets right down to the church !!
The same thing happened as they left the church with the bide and groom in the first car and all the family in their cars honking the horns all the way to the reception !! :-D and i didn't take a photo of the cars :-S i think i was in shock from it all !!

The weather was good it did cloud over just before the wedding but soon brightened up again , it was our traditional wedding service but there was a priest all dressed up on there side of the church but he didn't really do any thing that i could see ,unless he blessed them or did some thing outside before they entered the church, he was all in black with a funny hat more like a baby's bonnet and crosses round his neck.

The food at the reception was a Hog Roast !! lots of salads and rice dishes and bits and pieces ,then more buffet style food later in the evening , there was also a sweetie table ,laden down with glass bowls and dishes of sweets ,you had little paper bags to help your self to the sweets ,then later in the evening it was all topped up again !!

The wedding cake ,was a fruit tier at the bottom ,then a chocolate sponge tier and a plain sponge cake on the top tier ,the children all had cup cakes !!

Will send some photo's on later .

Hope you enjoy your posh tea out Frank , :-D

Morning all/Evening Kim.

Not a bad morning here, plenty of yellow stuff at present..

The afternoon tea at LUTON HOO is quite posh I would think. I looked at it last night, B & B is £195 per night, It's a hotel, spa and golf complex, with massage rooms. Will, David are you coming down ???

I am going down in Chino's and jumper, have sports jacket, shirt and trousers and black shoes to change into before TEA.

How did our Jane get on I wonder.??? Bound to be a bit traumatic for Hannah, leaving the flat, and all the bits that go with it. But with help from her friends, she will settle down to her studies and a new like. Thinking of them.

What are you all up to today ?? any nice plans.

Mandy, How did the wedding go ?? Did the weather hold out for you.

Ros has picked about 10 lb of tomato's this morning and three cucumbers. She's just bagged them up for Harvey and the neighbours. I suppose it will be my job to go and deliver them before we set off.

See you later.

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Brightish morning but then it rained quite heavily. I feel quite cold this morning.

Hope the wedding went off ok and Mandy and Colin did'nt drink too much in the evening.

Wonder what time Chris is going to London. Quite early I should think.
