Frank Report 8 Sep 2013 12:00

Morning all/Evening Kim.

Not a bad morning here, plenty of yellow stuff at present..

The afternoon tea at LUTON HOO is quite posh I would think. I looked at it last night, B & B is £195 per night, It's a hotel, spa and golf complex, with massage rooms. Will, David are you coming down ???

I am going down in Chino's and jumper, have sports jacket, shirt and trousers and black shoes to change into before TEA.

How did our Jane get on I wonder.??? Bound to be a bit traumatic for Hannah, leaving the flat, and all the bits that go with it. But with help from her friends, she will settle down to her studies and a new like. Thinking of them.

What are you all up to today ?? any nice plans.

Mandy, How did the wedding go ?? Did the weather hold out for you.

Ros has picked about 10 lb of tomato's this morning and three cucumbers. She's just bagged them up for Harvey and the neighbours. I suppose it will be my job to go and deliver them before we set off.

See you later.

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Brightish morning but then it rained quite heavily. I feel quite cold this morning.

Hope the wedding went off ok and Mandy and Colin did'nt drink too much in the evening.

Wonder what time Chris is going to London. Quite early I should think.

Frank Report 7 Sep 2013 21:21

Evening all,

Ros had just made a ham and tomato bagette at about 2.00 pm when the bell went. It was a woman from round the corner, who we have known for many years wanting to know about the accident. One thing led to another, and she didn't leave till 5.30 pm by which time we were both starving hungry. I think, had I not said I had some phone calls to make, she would have still been here :-( :-( :-( How do you get rid of people like that.??? without being rude.

If the afternoon was like ours weather wise Mandy, everything must have gone off well.

About 7.00 pm we had a thunder storm, and rain likes of which I haven't seen for ages. We drove to Towcester to get F & C tonight and the roads were flooded.

Not much on Tele. so I will leave Ros to watch what she wants, and I will look around Ebay.

Should pop in in the morning, before going to watch Lewis play football.

I got my bum and went for a short walk on my elbow crutches wearing shots and a tee shirt. Was so cold I felt naked.

My L knee is not healing as I'd like and I can at least walk on it.It doesn't bend far and is painful.

The physiotherapist on Monday said to practice bending it every 2 hours, but I've only done a fraction of that.Anyone who's had a complex broken leg will understand.ALSO my R shoulder was injured in the fracture clinic was accidently injured back in mid April,so putting weight through it with the frame or the elbow crutches is big pain.

Can you sue for neglect? I'm sure the hospital chair I fell into is OK ,can't say the same for my shoulder.

Annx Report 7 Sep 2013 20:28

That was a nice way to think of your friend together Frank. A good sleep will have done you and your knee good. How awful to be looking forward to a cruise with your case half packed and then this happen.

It has stayed dry and sunny apart from just a few spots of rain here. I hope it has been the same where Mandy is. :-)

Jane I hope Hannah is feeling calmer and motivated to get things sorted now. It's a good job you hadn't taken the table and chairs down there isn't it? I shouldn't imagine either of you will sleep that well tonight. Handy that Chris has the nice big vehicle now for moving her things.

This afternoon I went to have a look at the village show I couldn't enter because I'm outside the boundary. :-( It was quite interesting to see all the exhibits and I hung around the judge when he was explaining to someone why he chose the paintings he did to win .....picked up a few handy tips. ;-) It was useful as well to see how things were presented in all the classes as I hadn't a clue whether eg pictures had to be in a frame. I did have a smile at one entry for the 3 courgettes on a plate class......there were only 2!! A really big range of classes, jams, cakes, bread, needlework and the flower arrangements in a cup were good.....might do one for Christmas this year.

I have found more info on OH's rellies and want to call at Burbage Church tomorrow and see if there are any headstones. I doubt it really as they were born in the 16-1700s and any words will have worn away even if there are any.......but, you never know!! :-)

Off to bed now to watch The Pasadena Roof Orchestra I recorded the other day.

Wonder how the wedding is going?

Frank

Frank Report 7 Sep 2013 13:48

Hi all,
I have been down the pub with Tony, to remember SID. A lot of the people in the bar didn't know what happened. I toasted his life with a pint, and everyone joined in.

It turns out that it was his wedding anniversary today, so another day for Valerie to remember. I rang her this morning, but like me, she doesn't know what day of the week it is.

After a good drink, I am going to try to have a sleep, Ros is still at Martine' , so she will find me having a sleep on the sofa, when she gets in.

Jane

Jane Report 7 Sep 2013 12:58

I'm still here.Train is 2 minutes to 3.
Pat it is going to be a very difficult time with Hannah as tonight is the last time she will be in her flat.We are moving all of her belongings in the morning when Chris drives down .She has been knocked for 6 with this break up and moving out.
Frank we are eating out this evening as I want to spend as little time in the flat with her.If we are out there is less likely hood of major waterworks.

After a beautiful sunny morning here it seems to be clouding up a bit :-S
I better have some lunch now and then finish off a couple of things before Chris takes me to the station.
Back tomorrow afternoon/Eve.

Morning Everyone,

So sorry to hear the sad news about your friend Frank, it will take a while for the news to sink in. I know cos that's how my OH felt a few weeks back when we heard about the death of his work pal, you are just numb with shock.

Katherine & Jake came for tea last night and helped me with Sofia's castle almost finished, I will take some photo's later today, when it all done, as I can imagine there won't be much of it left this time next week or even before :-D :-D but at least she will have had some fun.

Found out from Katherine that there is a new Disney Film , called PRINCESS SOFIA the FIRST, GREAT :-D :-D so we ordered the DVD on AMA**N last night and hopefully it will arrive sometime today, Our Sofia will love it especially it has the same spelling as her name. I know what Santa will be bringing this Christmas, it looks like a trip into Glasgow coming up.

Morning All an dEvening Kim,

Frank what a shock. It must have been awful for his wife to find all the tackle and no hubby. I am so sorry you have lost an old mate in such circumstances. So awful for those left behind as I know ell emough when my dad dropped dead on the front of my bungalow when I was 30.It just goes to show you never know whats going to happen.
Thinking of you today <3

Have a message to pass on from our Liz so here it is:-

Hello Mel and hello everyone!
Just thought I'd drop you all a line to say that we are both alive(!) and very well. Nothing particularly startling has happened to either of us, usual round of gardening, walking and family visits.
I had had a real burst of energy last week, as it looked like the last of the fine weather, mind you it is a lovely morning here today so perhaps the 'burst' was a bit premature!! I cleaned ALL our windows, inside and out cleaned the log house from end to end, washed the under cover on our bed, helped whitewash Merlin's stable for the winter, even giving Millie a bath! so apart from putting the garden 'to bed' all the immediate outside jobs are done!!
I have started doing a bit more family research which has proved very interesting and revealing, certainly answering a lot of unanswered questions!! It's amazing what comes to light when you delve!!
Forgot to put the dishwasher on last night!! so went to pack it this morning and found dirty dishes, grrrr!! Luckily my slimline has a quick 35c programme as well as 50c and 70c, which does it in half an hour so not too much of a problem!
Well, I'm off to put on some washing (again!) then down to the village for the paper, a quick hoover and then off to Wantage for the day, so will say cheerio, and hope you all have a good weekend.
Love,
Liz xx

Hope you get on ok with Hannah today Jane. You have probably left by now, but safe journey.

Sun is out here again but we have had some blackish clouds over. It rained in the night but nothing to speak of. There was about a quarter of an inch in the flowerpot holder outside I was hoping to get some for one of my orchids. There was plenty in the chicken troughs this morning when I fed them.

Mandy hope all goes well today. You could have always used ordinary pins to put the buttonholes on with.

Sorry to read about the loss of an old friend Frank.

Since my injurt I've took to reading the deaths column in the local rag.

Since March of this year Ive had a very serious injury and 4 general anesthetics.

Ive suggested to Ellen that she get some serious life insurance on me as I'm presently not worth much to her alive.

J sleeps in the nuddy eh :-)

My your are an early old bird this morning JANE :-D :-D :-D did the rooster wake you <3 <3 <3 Oh of course you are off to the "SMOKE" today. Give Hannah my regards. Will you be going out to eat this evening, or sit around with a takeaway. ??

Bitty old night, kept waking, and thinking of times gone by. Will have a chat with Tony (neighbour) this morning, to get anymore details that are available before contacting the family.
Have just spoken to Tony.. Valerie, Sid's wife, went to the lake at about 6.00 pm. Found his car parked on the road side, his fishing tackle was all laid out, but no sign of Sid, She rang the police and they sent down a search team, and found him later in the evening.

Sid and his wife and two other friends were suppose to be going on a CRUISE on Monday.

Mel, one of the women in the village has an allotment. and has an honesty table outside her cottage, whenever you go by it's always loaded with goodies. The other week some low down BAST##D pinched her cash box. Their hands should drop off !!!

Hope the weather holds for the wedding today Mandy. I spoke with my Nephew last night and they had had a lot of rain. Today they have some sort of festival on the coast. With big sailing boats "SQUARE RIGGERS" whatever they are ;-) ;-)

There's a nip in the air this morning, so Autumn is on it's way.
