Evening all,
Tomorrow is our day out to the beach ,weather doesn't look to good though showers in the afternoon i see , i think it's been decided that we're going to Hemsby ,we haven't been down on that beach for a long time , also if it does rain there are inside play areas for the children there.
Just got to sort out the cool bag for the picnic and i must remember the camera .
It's been a funny old day so muggy and just after lunch we had thunder and lightning ,not that much rain though just a few big drops enough to wet the ground .

Will be back later, storm/s keep rattling around here and don't seem to want to go away.
Ann, I meant to comment on the photos of the model village. They were great and I even saw a model VW camper van that I have in collection here. Where is that place, it looks well worth a visit.
Be back later, just going to rustle us up a mixed grill of sorts.

You nipped in there just before me there Frank lol.So did David :-D Not sure about any new Baby :-0 at my time of life.it would be a miracle !!!!!! I do remember Mum and Dad bought us a bed when we bought our first house and I was expecting Hannah after 3 months :-D
James is so tired.I haven't seen him like this in years.I think he has done an awful lot of driving over the last couple of weeks, plus I think they have had a busy hectic time at the Lodge(Lodge not a Cabin I was informed lol)Luggage still just inside the front door !!.Jess wants to book their holiday to Greece tonight ,but I suggested they wait until tomorrow after a good nights sleep .
When the men brought the bed this morning I asked if they would just give a chance to put the valence on the base before the mattress went on.How lovely it was to discover one of the men put it on for me.He found it on the dresser and just did it for me.Nice bit of service :-D
We have a Red Kite around at the moment. In fact yesterday when I drove up the road it suddenly swooped down just in front of me to try and grab a dead rabbit from the middle of the road.I almost hit it !!!!!!!.Frightened the life out of me I can tell you :-0 I m enjoying the birds here.James bought me one of those bird feeding things. The ones that you stick on the window. With a cut out hole so you can see them feeding. It is so busy at certain times.I have Blue Tits,Bullfinch ,Goldfinch,Chaffinch,Great Tit,Robin all using it.
Chris is starting to get cards and pressies from patients even though he hasn't quite retired yet.The word is getting around obviously.I have a feeling we could end up with quite a few bottles of Whisky lol.He is counting each day down now and reminded me once again this morning that in just a few weeks I will have the pleasure of his company 24/7 !!!!!!.I won't tell you my reply ;-).I'm still not sure how I feel about it .Probably a bit of :-D :-0 :-| :-P and :-S.Maybe a bit of <3

Blue Sky here David :-D (at the moment ) not sure if it will last.
Maureen the bed will be the spare one.In Hannah's old room.I must say I am looking forward to trying it out tonight. We could do with a new bed too.But I bought a mattress topper and it is so much more comfortable now :-D.I'm not waking up with a sore hip every morning and back ache.
Chicken in Lemon and ginger sauce tonight with rice. Not my own sauce ...good old Uncle B*** :-D
Not too long now Frank before your knee is done.Have your feet gone down today? Did you take an extra water tablet?

Well the rain has gone, but still windy
New bed, new baby !!! is that the old saying ??? So you be careful :-D :-D :-D
Yes Jane, you can still get hearts in Tesc#
I also like kidneys, either fried with a breakfast or with Steak & Kidney Pie or Pudding. Shows you never had to go hungry as a child <3 <3 <3. My two (OWN) would eat offal, because it was cooked for them, whether they eat it now, I don't know. I still have liver once every couple of weeks, with Onion, Mash and peas. Mustard and brown sauce. YOU SHOULD TRY IT !! Ros often buys me OX tongue for a sandwich.. Her dad would always cook and press a tongue at Christmas. He also made BRAWN and platted Chitterlings, which I must admit I never ate.
I see David hasn't appeared since his trouble getting on here , and where's Will ?? trust everything is O.K. with Carmel.
Was looking at my photo's of the trip around the world today, Almost forgot all the fabulous places we went. So glad we took over 1,000 photo's, some are rubbish, but most are great.
Ros has to go back for some work on her teeth, including a bridge (MORE EXPENSE)
I see the programmes are back to normal tonight. It seems a lot longer ago since the baby was born. :-) :-) :-) You know it was born at 4.24 pm. A time I will never forget. Stupid isn't it ???
Have to stop taking certain tablets from tomorrow morning, ready for my operation next week. How strange, that these things have to be done.
I stopped taking that tablet for my water works, and gone back on my other. MY feet have gone back to normal, I wonder if it is the tablet or that it's cooled down a lot :-S :-S :-S

So far no rain here, but it is very windy, hope it is better for you Mandy if you are taking the grandchildren out, wouldn't you know it, now the school holidays have started the sun has disappeared. I'm sure you will have a lovely day Mel even if the weather isn't great.
A new bed Jane, that's something I've been meaning to get for the last couple of years. Have put a duvet on top of the mattress that helped a bit but really need a new bed just never seem to get round to looking. Would like a new TV too a nice big wide screen but there's nothing wrong with the one I've got.
I thought the same as you Frank about The Mill, the sound wasn't all that good, thought it was just me going a bit deaf and it was dark too but it looks like it will be a good drama.

Stuffed Heart ! Oh no not for me thanks Frank.Nor tongue or Kidney.Do they still sell the hearts in the butchers? Well it came over so black and thundery(I think it was coming from your direction Frank) but somehow it just missed us.Just a little bit of rain .We have had none of this heavy rain at all !!!!!
Maureen I thought also what a smashing post you did last night :-)
Well James and Jess are back. But all the luggage is still just inside the front door :-| They have had a lovely time in Sherwood in what seems to have been quite a plush Cabin ,even with a Hot Tub on the decking. There was me thinking it was just a basic chalet. It even had an upstairs.
The sun is coming out so I'm going to chance it and hang a couple of things I can't tumble d out on the line.
Mel I hope the weather is good for you today.I wonder where you have gone?

O.K. SILVESTER see you later. !!! Just had a downpour. I had got some bits in earlier, but the sheets weren't quite dry, so left them out a little longer. BIG MISTAKE. the heavens opened and I got wet getting them in.
Just emptied another bag of Potato's I got half of a tesc# carrier bag full, I gave them to the neighbours, as I have loads in the cupboard.
Ros it at the dentist's this morning, she has had tooth ache AHHHHHH This is when I am glad I haven't got many. :-D :-D :-D
The rain at the moment is like someone throwing stones on the conservatory roof. :-0 :-0 Is the summer over ??? Thunder and lighting as well. WHO'S hiding under the table ??? I know my sister use too. !!!
I loved a summer storm, I would strip off to my underpants and stand out on my Mum's back yard, and get nice and cool. Often think about doing it now, but what would the neighbours think
Just had lunch, Smoked Mackerel fillets , with horse radish, and B & B. full to bursting now.
Roast Breast of Lamb tonight. Haven't had one in years, hope it's O.K. If I remember right, I cook it on low for a long time. It was a regular as a child. Cheap meal.!!!
Do any of you like stuffed lambs hearts ??? I love them, but not Ros. Cooked in a nice onion gravy with Mashed and veg. It's a great meal. But can't remember when I last had it. I never think of cooking two separate meals..
Was it today you were taking the children to the coast Mandy. What could be nicer, on a day like today. <3 <3 Good job there are plenty of Cafe's around.

Morning all/Evening Kim,
Maureen how lovely for you to post that about Ann and Yourself. I like many, were bought up during the war years, by very strict and worried parents. I don't suppose they had time for us children with all that was going on in their lives. The one thing I will always remember. is, we didn't get a lot of love and attention, but always had a clean Bed and cloths and a belly full of food. So praise to them for that.
I watched "THE MILL" last night. I thought there were to many scenes in the dark, and the volume wasn't as good as it might have been (had to keep turning it up and down) That might be me though, getting old and deaf. (PARDON) :-D :-D :-D
Windy old morning here with plenty of cloud floating around. Ros has washed all the bedding and whites this morning, So when it goes out, will have to keep my eyes on the weather.
Hope you find somewhere nice to go today Mel, round your way you have so much to choose from. ;-) ;-)
I like the way you said you had a nice Chinese last night. Who had the legs ??? who had the breast ?? and who had the odds and sods ?? :-D :-D :-D Did you have HIM with rice ???
No Jane this morning, Must still be having trouble getting on here, it took me ages again this morning. Come on GENES get it SORTED. We can't go on like this !!!

Morning All and Evening Kim,
I have said it before and I will say it again,"it always rains when my SIL comes down".
WE had showers all day yesterday and then about 5.15pm it fell out the sky like stairods. This morning it is a bit windy and overcast with a few showers.
We had a nice chinese last night and were all full after it.
Don't know what we are doing today yet. They are having a good lay in so hav'nt seen them yet this morning.
Had a job getting to the last page this morning and have caught up with posts.
I watched The Mill last night on replay when they all went off to bed. I quite enjoyed it and think it may be a good program. About time we had another old fashioned type thing on the box.
David I am so sorry you are still having trouble getting into your emails. I would take Ann's advice and see if you can get sorted that way.

Before I read any other posts I really have to comment on Ann's. What a hard childhood/teenage years you endured Ann. I should have been in your place with all the things your father said about you as for me they would have been true and well founded. I was such a rebelious and stroppy teenager, drunk at fourteen, pregnant at fifteen but fortunately for me had parents so loving and caring that accepted the situation and allowed me to keep my precious baby, who now at 49 is my best friend. My only regret is that I never appreciated the sacrifices they made for me.

It must be very aggravating David! Is this any help do you think? The 'no alternate email address' bit where they send you a link to use via your mobile. You would have to reset your password though.....even though it is right! A fresh start might work.......and be a good idea in case someone else has caused a change!

Yes Frank, I mentioned THE MILL the other day........recording it to watch after OH has finished watching the darts! ;-)

I just lost a post, so will try again.
Evening all,
What a difference a day makes. Today has turned out very muggy, and very windy. I was able to sit outside with my book for a while, good job iy wasn't the newspaper, I don't know where that would have ended up.
Jane and David, It sounds like someone has been trying to HACK into your Emails. This is the explanation I got from BT. I would suggest you contact your provider, and they should be able to sort it for you, like BT did for me. It's worth a try.
Ann, I was 21 before I found out that my Mother had been married TWICE and the three eldest children were not my true brothers and sister. The subject never arose in all the years, before she died in 1980. and likewise the three eldest never ever mentioned anything about it either, Perhaps that's why she had the attitude towards relationships, that she had. There was talk, that my FATHER was the FATHER to the eldest three, but my tree shows they aren't. Looking back I can see why the family of TEN of us were so split. There is only three of us left now, and I have nothing to do with the others. Such is life.
That's another load of my chest !!!
Going to watch "THE MILL" at 8.00 pm. anybody else ???

Well I tried all those options unsuccessfully Ann. Can't understand it. Last year what they're asking was my secret question if I forgot my password, which I haven't. So why it's displaying I don't know. It some times it doesn't recognise this PC to use another or a mobile WTF
When I was in hospital I was able to contact this thread. Maybe I've confounded it?
I have a second secret question in store which it doesn't show. Aggravating isn't it?

Afternoon All,
Thanks for the recipe Mandy......it looks good and easy enough even for me. :-D
William, Carmel looks lovely in the photo you sent and I love the colours she is wearing.....my favourites, pinks and purples.
Frank, I am feeling quite a bit better today thanks. It might just have been the heat. Last night I was beginning to wonder if it was my thyroid levels still dropping as that affects all sorts. I have my next test on Wednesday, so will soon find out. I can imagine it must have been awful for your sister. I KNOW I would have been thrown out on my ear if I'd got in the family way. Any hint of kissing on the telly and dad's face would go black as thunder and he'd change channels. At age 18 he said I was still too young for boyfriends and operated a ridiculous curfew, especially as we lived miles from any entertainment. I can remember standing at the top of the stairs at night listening to him and mum rowing about me as even mum thought he was too strict. Remember I was quiet and shy then and very sensible and had given no cause for him to have concern, had never been drunk, but he talked about me in the most insulting way as if I had no mind of my own or self control and was just there to be 'taken' by any chap I spoke to!!! It was all very upsetting to think that was how your father saw you and to be 'caged up' while your friends were out enjoying themselves and knowing you would never get those years and opportunities back again. But you are so, so right Frank, it was he who lost out in the end.
Yes Mel, it is good of you to do the church flowers. I think next time I look around a church and the flowers are nice, I shall leave a little note among them to say so.
Well we saw MIL this afternoon and gave her the blood test forms and explained she and FIL should get a test. We think they might have them done after all as MIL is now thinking it must be her that is a carrier with the problems she has had with iron tablets. It seems to be the anticipation of telling the doctor she was 'right' about the iron tablets all these years rather than for her health's sake though!! lol.
More downpours here today and it has been quite breezy and fresher. OH has to go and be rigged up with the mobile blood pressure monitor tomorrow, so he will be 'hissing Sid' for 24 hours. ;-)

Well, I'm back now the sun's gone, too many posts to catch up on but I have been looking at my mail and thank you to all for the lovely e.mails and photos, I do love looking at all your gardens. Haven't done much in mine, have just been sitting in the sun reading my book or doing a crossword. I couldn't get Shirl's photos up if anybody could send them please.
I'm very impressed with your cues Ann, mine have only got flower on at the moment, no sign of a cucumber yet, same with the peppers, but the tomatoes are plentiful although still green, and I have loads of apples and pears this year. I've only really used the apple and pear tree to make an arch in the garden but this year thought I would let it grow and not cut it so I'll be munching my way through the fruit when it's ready, I think another month, probably do me more good than all the cornettos I've been eating ;-)
The new lotto game was good William although I have to say Nick's voice really grates on me, the same when he did Who Dares Wins, it's the way he says thowsand pownds it drives me mad.
