Patricia,glad you found them.

I have ny maternal GM's death certificate and also the receipt from the undertakers.
Embalming, hearse plus 2 cars, interred in Jesmond Road cemetry...how much? £24 pounds and ten shillings.

You'd pay that for a bunch of flowers these days.

I know the exact plot she is interred in,but can I find it? No
It's right at the back near the cricket ground wall and has been sadly neglected.
I couldn't even find a marker.

Some 40 years ago the local authority relocated several graves from another grave yard on the other side of the road so as to widen the road.

Oh my life it is HOT!!.Just got in and I now have just 1 item of clothing on :-D.

Frank you will no doubt have a better night tonight.Make sure to take those painkillers regularly so that they don't wear off .
Fitz looks funny with his little fingers all pointed out straight with metal splints on.He said that they just broke them and reset so no cutting was done.He was home by lunchtime after just a very light General Anaesthetic.
We are not going to the cinema tomorrow as it is going to be too hot so I have asked Fitz to come and join us at lunch time.He is going to walk up the lane to us and then we will run him back (unless he wants to walk ) not likely though as he never walks anywhere lol.I don't think he is allowed to drive for a couple of weeks. Also he is worrying about how to wash his hair.He won't ask his OH (silly billy) so guess who is going to do it for him !.He will just have to lean over the bath and I'll use the overhead shower.

Surprisingly I have very little bruising around my knee. But it just feels a bit stiff as does my shoulder and hip.Just the way I landed I think.

Mel, Chris is going to be doing our tomatoes in the Passata thing on Saturday .It looks a bit like the old fashioned mincer that we had for grinding left over beef. But somehow this thing gets the skins off and the pips. They will coming out of his ears too lol.

Frank is it Duxford Air show this weekend? There seems to be a lot of plane activity around .
Lunch time now .BBL

Mandy I think the children lighting candles is a very good idea, as you say brings them into the proceedings and teaches them what goes on in these occasions. Hope everything goes as well for Colin's sisters funeral next week. You know we will all be with you in thoughts and wishes.

Jane thanks for the pic. It looks really nice there and hope your bruises arn't too painfull today.

Sun is shining and I have to go and open the tunnel up as I hav'nt got up there yet!!!!!!!!!!

Morning all/Evening Kim.

The saga went on last night. I was in bed by 10.00,pm. What a waste of time every time I thought I was comfortable, I would move and start the knee off. BY 2.30 am I had had enough and got up. Watched the Animal planet till 6.15 am with my leg up. Went to bed and slept till 8.45 am

The dressings had moved down my leg, and the blood had seeped onto the bandages. Ros undid the dressings, and redressed them. She was at the Doctors this morning and mention it to him. He has upped my pain killers to 500 mg 2 x 4 times a day.

I must admit it feels a lot easier this morning, I will soon be dancing the GIG. which I couldn't do before BOOM BOOM !!!

I see you have all been busy but still no William

Glad to see our Pat is catching the weather. Tomorrow could hit 29 degrees so watch the sunburn.!!!

No shower this morning, but had a nice wash down and shave.

Weetabix for breakfast, with two cups of tea.

Sunday, we are going to see Lewis play football. 1.30 kick off. then he will have to get showered and changes as we are all going to LUNON HOO for 5.30 pm for tea. Harvey bought Me tickets for a Christmas present. Julia bought tickets for them. so we can all go together.

If my knee is not able to support me. we have a wheelchair in the garage that we can take. Just hope the weather is going to hold.

Carolyn and Ros are off shopping soon and will make me an appointment for an EYE TEST. I know I need new ones. So more expense.

Hope you all have a good day. We get on later no doubt.

Sun sitting now with paper and book

Frank ,i hope your doing as your told and keeping that leg elevated :-D have you had much pain over night ?

Oh dear Ann i bet that didn't go down to well with MIL being told she was the carrier :-S
And how stubborn she is being making OH drive to another hospital ,it's not as if she would be seeing the same consultant if it's for another medical problem !!

Pat, you have picked the right week to holiday this way ,have you been out to the coast ?

I really need to hoover my bedrooms and have a good dust ,but it's so hot !!
Good job we kept the fan out ,it's going full speed here !!

Mandy ,I'm glad the funeral went off ok.What a good turn out for Bill.Lovely too for the children to light candles. It will make them feel part of it all as it must be very confusing for little children not maybe understanding what it is all about. The first funeral I ever went to was my Dads in 1987 and I was 32 or 33.It was dreadful ,and it made me wish that I had actually been to one when I was much younger.
I think I have said this before but when the children were young the Crematorium here had an open day .Hannah didn't want to go but I took James so that understood what actually happens at a funeral.I think he was a bout 10 then.

Oh so it is OH's Mum who is the carrier then Ann.What does she say about that??
How annoying for OH to have to do those extra miles to the hospital :-S

I am off to bed now to rest my knee which is beginning to feel stiff. It is a bit swollen but not bad really considering how hard `I went down. One good thing about having a bit of fat it probably protects the bones :-D :-D.

Frank I hope your knee is not giving you too much gip tonight, and that you manage to get a good nights sleep <3

Night Night for now zzzzzzzzz

WELL WELL, It's taken me an HOUR to read the Emails and the posts. Now my leg is starting to ache so won't stay long.

Thank you all for your good wishes. Ros dropped me off at 7.00 am. She was annoyed with me for not letting her walk me to the ward. If she had she would have had to turn around and walk back. They don't allow anyone to sit around the waiting area, except patients

I was told I was 2nd on the list. Bloody liars. I was the last to go out of the ward.
All the nurses, doctors and surgical staff were A1. I went down to the anethetist (sp) about 10.30 am. Oxygen mask on, Canular fitted and injection. Don't remember anything else till I had a nurse rubbing my hand. that was 12. 30ish She said they had washed and cleaned out behind my kneecap, and that I must rest it for a few days with it elevated when I sit. (WHICH IT ISN'T AT THE MOMENT) Will continue in the morning. Early night calling

Night Night.

Thanks for reminding me Jane.......I've filled my washer but not switched it on!!! I seem to have half a brain lately. :-S

It was nice and cool downstairs for your meal then which is good and how nice of them to let you put your meat in their fridge........perks for being a 'regular ;-)'. lol. Just saw your pic......it looks lovely and unspoiled doesn't it......nice not to see rows of hotels!!

OH has just rung. FIL wasn't there so he got done in peace and quiet. He said it was a nightmare mowing the lawn with how fiddly they've made it over recent years. His dad won't hear of making it easier though. Only a month ago they were asking us to buy them yet another pot with a shrub in it, yet OH says there are loads of pots strewn about all of them with just weeds in.. ......as he says, why have any at all when they can't look after them?

He said the doc had had MIL's blood test back and it IS her that has Thalassaemia trait. She has also got to go for an endoscopy but has made OH cross as she has requested a Leicester hospital instead of Nuneaton for it. (it's all because she took a dislike to one of the consultants she saw at Nuneaton once for something else!). It means OH driving an extra 23 miles when there's no need and much easier to get to and cheaper parking at Nuneaton. :-S :-S

Mandy I think it is much better to all file out first. I think even grownups can find it distressing, especially when the movement makes a noise as well. It was a nice touch for the children to light candles. I bet you both feel drained and another to do next week as you say.

Well it was a nice service for BIL's send off, church was so packed we had to stand and people were standing outside too ,the grandchildren all lit candles and what i thought was nice was that the coffin didn't disappear behind the curtain but stayed until we all filed out i think this was so it didn't upset the grandchildren seeing it go down and the curtains closing round it .
We do it all again next tuesday for hubby's sister .

Jane hope your not to bruised after your tumble ,how easily these things happen ,your down before you know it .!!

Frank hope all has gone well today .

We both feel tired out ,in fact hubby's asleep !!

Ann I hope OH got his parents garden done without any hindrances lol

We had a lovely lunch .They put the air con on so it was fine.It was busy but not quite full and we were lucky enough to eat downstairs.Had a drink in the 3 Swans before hand and I popped in to the Butcher and bought some meat. They put in their fridge for me to pick up after our lunch.(which I thought was very nice). They we drove up to the top of town to the Union Warf where there some narrow boat tied up.it is a lovely setting with a restaurant .Might go there next time.

James and Jess arrived safely on Milos absolutely pooped.James sent a pic of what I assume is the view from the room.Oh the blue sea and sky !!!!!!/It looks lovely.Quite rusts/basic accommodation I think .I think it is self catering and nothing swanky.Just a small fridge ,couple of rings to cook something. It is a studio room.He said the family who own the place seem really nice and they can pay extra for breakfasts if they wish.It is 1 and a 1/2 k from the little town so quite on its own which is what thety were wanting.

I am going to London on Saturday afternoon to stay overnight with Hannah at the flat. Then Chris will drive down on Sunday morning to help move her belongings out.I have no idea how much will be coming back to our garage :-S.
I think it is so sad that the only time I will be staying at the flat is the very last day she will be there :-(

I see you are home Frank. That was pretty swift work.Hope it all went to plan and you are not too sore.I will ring Fitz tomorrow and see how his op went.

My neighbour has left a big bag of Victoria Plums on the doorstep.I will have to think what to do with them.

It is so hot and sticky and I am so happy I am not having to cook anything. In fact I doubt we will have anything else to eat.

Ann my sister went to Kefalonia for her honeymoon when she married Larry. She absolutely fell in love with the place.

My washing machine has just played a tune to say it has finished the cycle so I need to get a load of towels hung out.
