Morning All an dEvening Kim,

Bit cloudy here today but that is to be expected as SIL is coming tomorrow and it always rains when she comes down.

Jane so glad you are back with us today. I take it you got sorted with your connection to the web?

Frank that was a nice offer from your nephew. Are you going to take him up on his offer for you to stay with him for a week and decline the caravan?

Had a message from David to say he still can't get into his emails. I have told him to ring BT and have a word with them like Frank did. I don't know what else to suggest, any ideas anyone?

Well it's church flowers today and I have had a walk around the garden and everything seems to be over after the hot weather we have had. I don't want to strip the border of the bit of colour I do have so I think I shall have to go into Holsworthy ad buy some and I also need a kettle for the caravan as when oh filled the one thats in there it leaked water everywhere!! MORE EXPENSE!! as Frank would say.

Hi Jane !! Morning all/ Evening Kim,

Trouble is back with us then ??? What have you been up to. ?? Like me, got in a right mess yesterday with my Little Asian friend. Once I got rid of him and got a Gordie, all was fine.

Ros out with Martine this morning shopping at Morriso##. No tele on GREAT !!!

My Nephew rang last night, to check how we were. He offered to come and collect us from his home in Harlow, to stay with them for a few days, and to go to Caistor for a week in his caravan in October. (I THINK I WILL PASS ON THAT) dark evenings, and cold East Coast. Nice thought though.

Looks like we are in for some bad weather later today. At the moment, it's still, with no breeze and plenty of clouds. Odd bit of sunshine. Plenty of those little THUNDER FLYS crawling all over my back and arms.

Ann I would love to be a fly on the wall when you tell MIL the news :-D :-D :-D From what you say about her, she will go OTT, and blame someone else lol

Gawd knows what our new neighbour is up to. Each morning you can hear him moving the THREE wheelie bins around, like he is playing musical chairs. or CHESS.

Last night some idiot lit a BONFIRE over the allotments. The smoke was a thick as pea soup, and drifted all over the village this way. It filled the bungalow with smoke. We had to close all doors and windows. The silly thing is, there is the old stone works "HOLE" where all the allotment holders dump their rubbish, so no need for fires. I am sure there will be complaints to the Allotment Association .

What you all up to this weekend ?? staying out of trouble I hope ;-) ;-) ;-)

Ann I wish you had sent things too you naughty girl. I told you to send it last year and have waited a whole year thinking you would do it this year. I shall have to keep on at you next year...................................... :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-|

Oh has cleaned all the caravan but I had to do the bathroom as if he gets in there he can't move aroudn much and would definately not be able to wash the floor or round the loo as it is so near the wall. Thats the trouble when you put a full size toilet and hand basin in a caravan. At least he could'nt change the shower! Also been doning the house again, different rooms. We keep getting millions of tiny black flies up the front door on the outside and they seem to be able to get through the double glazed door seal. I sucked them all out of the recess in the door and frame and put flypen all around inside the door and frame. When I first saw them a couple of days ago I went to pick up the mail on the doorstep and they all flew at me in a great cloud!!!!!!

Poor Jane not being able to get on here. Hope she gets sorted soon as it is so quiet without her posting.

Have just realized I am on church flowers tomorrow. May have to whiz into Holsworthy for some as the ones in the border I was counting on last week seem to all be over now. they were sweet williams.

I have seen two hogs in the garden tonight. I have moved one of the feeding staions and when I went to shut the big girls in Hoggy was looking where it usually is. I have moved it to the orchard under the big ash tree. Then I saw him at the food when I came back and looked up the pathway to the caravan and there was another one. Came in to get my camera and one had gone. I then went down the garden towards the hog box and there was one there too. So is that three I have or just a very fast mover?

Off to the hsower now and then relax as oh has gone to bed so I can now watch what I want on the telly on replay.

By the way I have patterns on my feet too.

I have been busy today. I nipped to M*S to take some chicken back first......the date wasn't up but the packing had 'blown'. No quibbles about it, then on to Sains*ury's for some shopping, then home to put stuff away, then into town to get the plastic pane cut for the greenhouse so I can put a hose through the other corner for the other water butt. Then we were out to lunch and then went to the Thalassaemia clinic for OH's appointment.

It was all very interesting and the Beta trait OH has is mostly around the Metirreanean. The consultant said it does offer protection against Malaria (which I had wondered about) in that if you get Malaria you aren't as ill as normal people, but you still need to take malaria medication if you travel to countries where it is recommended. To have the trait is to be a 'carrier' so you are unaffected yourself and it doesn't shorten your life etc, but if you marry someone who also has the trait you have a 1 in 4 chance of having a very ill child, needing lifelong transfusions and other treatment. Basically, you have smaller red blood cells, but more of them. We were told it is important to know about it, as ordinary blood tests can wrongly suggest anaemia and if iron is given, the smaller blood cells can't absorb it all and the excess iron can make you ill. Also, if you need a transfusion and they know about it, they can give you a better match for your blood. OH has been given a card to carry at all times now and they said one of his parents MUST also be a carrier and should be tested. We are dying to see MIL's face when we tell her next time we go, as she was so adamant it couldn't come from her side of the family. We think she may well be the one who has the trait after what we heard today, as she has told us about being anaemic in the past and that the doctor had to take her off iron tablets as they made her feel ill. We have forms for them both to be tested, but I'm not sure they will bother. MIL already carries a card showing she is Rhesus negative, but only told us last week and laughed and said she never bothered to mention it any operations she's had!! We tried to tell her it's important if you need a transfusion.........sometimes we wonder how they managed to grow this old!! :-S :-S

Off to bed now as I'm off to a bead sale in the morning at a village hall not too far away.

Thought I'd just mention a new series starting on Sunday C4 8.00pm called The Mill. It's a real story, or based on a real story about apprentices in the 1800s in a cotton mill. Might be interesting.

Evening All,

Glad you eventually got sorted Frank........now you have to hide those details where you will be able to find them!! :-) Good that you have your appointment for your op through as well. Better very early I think as you may not sleep well the night before anyway. I wash my hair daily as well while I have my shower.....so easy! Odd days I just rinse it through with water if it seems very dry. Even when I was young and my hair was long I washed it every 3 days. If I did it any more often then the ends would split and I'd be there with the scissors for ages snipping each one off.

I have patchwork feet too......brown spots from the holes in my crocs and stripes from straps. No watchstrap mark though 'cos I don't wear one. I look like I'm wearing a v neck top when I'm undressed as well. lol :-S

I must be very, very naughty Mel as OH was telling me off this morning as well for not sending pics to our local paper. Today they have gone back to giving £100 prize and have a new competition with 'widlife' as the subject so I will have to see what I can do! Then I read your post about Countryfile and I'd forgotten all about that!! :-0 :-0 I must write these things down as I wish I had sent things now. :-S

Well after THREE HOURS on the phone, I have finally got my Email back. They took over my computer. and it was a foreign person, telling me that someone was hacking into my Emails.. I got short tempered with him, and gave up. I then telephones BT again and got a nice chap who sorted in out in twenty minutes.

Jane rang me this afternoon, telling me of her problems. Lets hope that gets sorted soon.

I am completely shattered now, so signing off.

William Report 26 Jul 2013 19:59

Ann, I had to laugh over your night time 'visitor'. It's often a case that we have said goodnight, retired to our respective bedrooms, me in the East Wing (front bedroom) and Carmel in the West Wing (rear bedroom) and then they'll be a squeal from next door. It's either a moth or a spider. Spiders I usually trap and 'reunite' with the outdoors. Clothes moths I'm not so lenient with, mostly because you can't trap the little blighters.
I wouldn't bother with photography classes if I were you. If you camera is giving such excellent results on AUTO, leave well alone!

Well, we all know it's George Alexander Louis now, we seem to be getting some media peace. So it's a boy but it's also a G A L!.
I was proud to see William leaving the hospital with his sleeves rolled up. Just like myself and my Dad before me, I can't stand shirt sleeves. I just keep two long sleeved shirts for possible formal occasions. When I left work, I had all my shirt sleeves tailored short so I could enjoy them to the full.

Not much going on here today. I woke up feeling tired after a restless night and it took me ages to get going. It was long gone 11am before we went shopping in our little town. I think we met nearly everyone we knew - others times we don't see people then wonder why we haven't come across them and what's happened to them. I suppose it depends on the weather and the time of the week.

I have blanched the Broad beans, Ros will put them into bags and freeze them.

Morning all/Evening Kim,

First job in the morning is to open Emails. I have a notice this morning (First time ever) asking me for my user name and password. I have no idea what I used when I set it up. So I can't send or receive Emails. Any IDEA who I can contact ????. I have no idea !!!

Terrible night last night. Memories going back to childhood and going into the RAF. my first house, laying the paths and lawns. What is the matter with me ??? Going back over 60 years and later in life.

David I think you can get help, with bathing and shaving from the District nurse. Well worth a call. You never know you might get a nice young BLOND to carry out the duties :-D :-D :-D. Joking apart. I think help is available.

Picked a few ORANGE tomato's this morning. Ros likes them like that.

Last night's dinner was a smashing PAELLA. prawns, chicken, mussels, peppers, peas and other bits, with a nice tasty coating to the rice. Do you know if it will be O.K. FROZEN ?? as there was a lot over I put it in a container and popped it into the freezer.

Nothing planed here today. Ros is in the shower and washing her hair. FRIDAY is hair wash day. JAN washes hers every day. I thought only men did that :-S :-S

Looks like being a warm one again today, blue sky's everywhere.

Since Bill Gates and his wife became philanthropists there's one job they've missed.
Around the northand north west coast of Africa he could build giant desalianation plants that would take tons of sea water on board an hour and remove the salt and then putting the water to very good use.

The idea works very well on off shore oil rigs.

Imagine if he could turn the Sahara into a garden again.
