Thank you Fiona for your posting.I was worried after I posted mine that it might have offended you.
Mine were due to stress debt and domestic conflict caused by the former.

Fiona I expect you just have to be thankful you are better than you were. Such a nuisance with heat and cold though and the not knowing why it has happened.
Ohh.....Frank is back already......hope they managed to do your knee!!
Jane that sounded a nasty fall.........what is it with you when you get near water......last time it was headfirst into a boat wasn't it? I hope your knee is ok and that you don't have too many bruises. It is horrid when you start to fall and reach the point of no return! Like Mel says, some bumps make hardly any bruise and others appear when you can't remember bashing anything!!

Afternoon All,
I shall be picturing you both at Ascough* Jane!! :-D I hope it isn't too busy and hot today as it is quite hot and humid here. I must look up that island where James and Jess are holidaying. If I was happier about flying I think Kefalonia is one of the islands I would fancy. I worked with someone who used to either go to the Greek islands or Goa every year. She was a real sunworshipper though, a dusky maiden with the looks of Shania Twain!
Hope the 'boys' have had their operations done now and are recovering and resting.
Sad day for Mandy's family, such a shock when it is so unexpected.
I went looking for a few plants to go with the others for the pots this morning.....no luck though. Then we went to the carvery and on the way looked at the big hole in the hedge where a car ran into it yesterday.
OH said what a mess FIL's garden was at the weekend. He just wishes they would say when they need help with it rather than let the grass get so long. He doesn't feel like battling with that sort of thing any more himself and it is so much easier if it is kept short. He's asked a few times if they are managing and FIL always says he is. OH has worked things nicely to go over today while they are at the docs`. That way he can get on uninterrupted and do it in half the time. He's just hoping MIL doesn't leave FIL behind to supervise (interfere)!!!! His face will be :-S :-S when he gets home if she has. FIL gets in the way, insists on following OH holding the cable and talks to OH like he has never used an electric mower before yet he has had several in the past and used to use mine to do my lawn years ago!! He's going to the match afterwards so won't want holdups!! :-)
I'm going to nip to another garden centre just down the road and see what plants they have I could use to add to my pots.

Afternoon All
Have a nice lunch Jane. I will be thinking of you when I have my cheese buttie ;-) ;-) :-)
Sunny here so I have put washing on the line, lets see how long they stay this time, had some out yesterday for just 10 mins then had to run and bring them in as it started to rain:-| :-|
Glad you are not having any more headaches after taking that ani** David, I wish my problem was to do with normal headaches for I know what to take to help them. No one even the specialist at the hospital can tell me how long I am going to have to be on these anti depression pills, for the inflammation ( Amitriptyline) but I have come a long way since it all started, i was told this inflammation could be stress related due to having to look after dad during the years he had dementia, but I just have to carry on and learn how to cope with it all

Have a nice lunch Jane.
Thinking o f Mandy and Colin too.
It is going to be very quiet on here today until later so I am going to pick tomatoes. There is just not room for them all on my little table so shall have to look for something to put them on next to the table.
Oh is cutting the back lawn and has made a perch for the chicks to go in their house as they hav'nt got one in there, just a space and nest boxes.

Think we are all rooting for the boys today Jane............
Hope you don't have any nice bruises after your tumble. I nearly did that last week with the flex on the hairdryer but managed to stay upright.
Why is it that when you bang yourself and think you will get a bruise you never do and sometimes they just appear and you can't remember banging that place?? Very strange. I had a corker of a bruise on the back of my hand which was'nt there after my tumble on the beach but yesterday it was as black as your hat just behind my ring finger on the left hand.

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Well I thought it was supposed to be sunny today but it is a bit overcast with just grey skies. Not cold though.
Anyone doing anything exciting apart from our Frank and Fitz going to hospital?
Good luck to both and hope everything goes off ok and you both make speedy recoveries. Thinking of you X.

Morning/Evening All
I hope Frank and Fitz both have their ops without too much hanging around before hand.it's horrible being last on the list.Fingers crossed they both be on this mornings list.
Mel James has never been to Greece before.Him and Jess wanted to go somewhere a bit different so chose this Island I had never heard of.They wanted to stay clear of the big tourist Islands. This one is called Milos.I had a message ping through on my phone at 2.20 this morning to say they were at Athens airport waiting for the bus to take them to Piraeus for the Ferry. I had a right tumble just now.I had just finished drying my hair and as I turned around my foot got caught in the flex and I almost flew ,landing flat on the floor but my left knee to a right bashing.I went down like a ton of bricks :-S :-S :-S
I must wash my front door as it is filthy and also brush up all the leaves that have gathered under the metal mat thing(can't think what you call it :-|)
Ruby I would love to know your recipe and how to cook those Okra please .It looks very tasty :-D
I'm so glad I haven't put the fans away as it could be up to nearly 30 again by Thursday !!!!

I have been iironing nearly all day!! but have worked my way through most of it and can now see space in the uti room. Did'nt go shopping as I did'nt want to. I was just in the mood for ironing so stayed at it.
Ruby the snake was a long one!! I see you had it killed.
Oh got a bunny yesterday but said it ran off. I found it behind a bush down our back garden this morning when I fed the chicks. I wonder if the hedgehogs will see it tonight?
Frank poor Martine, another heart attack so close to the last one, poor girl. Love and wishes for her.
So what did you think of our first Doc Martin tonight. I thought it was a load of rubbish and hope it hots up a bit in the followwing episodes.
Ann I do like What Remains. Do you recognise Ruby from Larkrise to Candleford? and Fisher Bloom was in the mill. I could have done with a few more episodes of that as I really enjoyed that.
Anyone watch Whitechapel? New serise of that on this week too.
Frank hope everything goes well for you tomorrow and Fitz or course, fingers crossed for both of you. Oh has to go in for carpul tunnel on his hand on the 9th Sept so it seems they are doing all the men this month in some way or another.
Jane hope James and Co arrive safely. Thats still a long while to be on a ferry, 4 and a half hours. Hope it is worth it. Have they been there before?

I rang to check the pots were the right ones before we set off to collect them today and the chap told me there had been an accident on the M5 which hopefully would be clear by the time we got there (nr Worcester). No such luck, it must have been a bad one as there were warning signs of traffic queues as soon as we got on the M6 miles away. We decided to get off the M5 before we hit the queues and go across country. Then we saw others had done the same and there were queues ahead so we decided to pull off when we saw a Mo*risons and have lunch to give more time for the traffic to clear. Hardly a soul in their cafe but they said there was a half hour wait. We decided to have the salmon with potatoes and peas......hadn't got any! Then I decided on a chicken lunch and OH said he would have the liver and mash......no chicken lunches and no mash to go with the liver! In the end we settled on F&C as it seemed easier. By the time we left the traffic had all cleared which was good and the place was easy to find. It is a very good Garden Centre with a big range of goods and has a H*bbycraft store inside. We got the pots and bought a few bits and bobs and decided to come home then as it was too late to be worth going on to Worcester.
As they have roadworks going on near the M1 down the road from here we got off the M69 at Hinckley to avoid the traffic there. We just got to the island on the main road near here and saw a car with a huge dent in the side in the hedge of someone's garden just past the island and another car skewed across the road. The island is a deathtrap since they 'improved' it. It is the one that they don't bother repairing or replacing the railings on where you cross as they just get knocked down again. For us to cross over the island and main road it is like the start of Brand's Hatch to your right and trees and shrubs on the island obscure what is coming round it in the 3 lanes. As you cross there are traffic lights as soon as you cross the 3 lanes with only room for 2 cars to wait or you get hit by what's whizzing round the island and doesn't see you till the last minute!
Tonight I have pickled some cues with red peppers and sliced onions in white vinegar and mustard seeds. I wonder how long to leave it before trying it.....a month? I think OH was hoping to have some tonight!! lol.

Evening All,
Frank......innocent......choke, choke!! :-0 I hope you have been resting your legs on that naughty step!! :-S Will be thinking of you and Fitz tomorrow having your ops done. Hope there are no snags this time.
Poor Martine, I hope they can sort out what the problem is......no sooner out of hospital and now back there again.
Mel we have really enjoyed Last Remains up to now....my kind of prog! Spot on with the bottles......it would keep the greenhouse warm and cosy in the winter too.
Ruby, I have dabbled in a few different crafts in the past but these days it is mainly making jewellery and a bit of painting from time to time. I go to a weekly jewellery class during the winter. The photography competition doesn't close till the 22nd of this month, so I have time to enter up to 5 more photos if I want. There would have been a beauty tonight when a huge flock of geese flew over and were silhouetted against a lovely sky.......as usual, camera wasn't to hand!! :-S Thanks for your pics......ANY snake is too big for me and I would have wanted it gone too. Is that the Okra dish you make in the pan?
Jane, I wasn't sure I would like the film but I did and Douglas played the part well......how the rich and famous lived!!
Mandy I hope some of the floor tiles are coming up easier now........good job there wasn't woodchip paper to fetch off as well. :-S

Fiona, some years back I was going through a bad set of circumstances and I was getting some cracking head aches.I was taking Anadin for it. Over a span of a week or two I became addicted to the Anad:::
When I realised I was addicted to them I stopped taking them, for a couple of days the head aches were almost intolerable, but on the third day they stopped.
Never had another Anad"" ,never had another head ache
Here in Newcastle they're "improving the quality of the water" They intend to replace 40 miles of PVC under ground pipe. You can imagine the traffic disruption that will cause.
The odd thing is Fastflow did the very same job 2 years ago
DAFT?

Ruby, you are naughty, having bad thoughts about me, I am so innocent :-D :-D :-D I just do not know what you mean !!!. And you behave yourself with GEORGE!!! You must get your water sorted also you know that could be a problem !!!
Jane, Thanks so much for your call, as always you are thinking of others <3 <3 Hope you enjoy the film on Thursday. I wouldn't go to see DOUGLAS if I was paid. What a NASTY MAN HE IS. :-P :-P :-P
Hope James enjoys his holiday, what a trip to get to the island, and to have to do it all in reverse as well. You will hear all Hannah's tales this evening as well. Your ear will be a bit warm after that call ;-) ;-) ;-)
Ros has been busy as a beaver in the boarder again today, clearing more space. I have been on E-Bay bidding on Tulips and Daffs, they can go in where she has cleared, and brighten up the boarders for spring. I also need to get some wallflower plants later. They look so nice coming into flower with the bulbs. Her Hibiscus's are in full flower at the moment and look really nice.
Jacket spuds, coated will olive oil and sprinkled with salt are in the oven, should be ready for 6.30 ish.

Hello everyone,
We collected BIL from the airport yesterday - he's here for a month.
It'll be mass confusion here after a while, because everyone will be over to visit him. It's Labour day here, so they are all having a day off work.
Our day started off with a bang. BIL knocked on my door (no Frank, not what you're thinking) ;-) It was to let me know that we had no water! It happens occasionally. One of these days I'm going to have to break down and call a plumber. Instead, I call my youngest son and he crawls under the house a little way and knocks on a pipe and the water comes back on :-D I suppose it's air in the pipe. Anyway, this morning he saw the tail of a snake hanging out from the insulation under the house, and it was right beneath my bedroom. He dragged it out and killed it. He's very familiar with black snakes because he's got 12 acres out in the country and they see huge ones. Black snakes are not poisonous,; in fact, they are good to have around because they kill rats and mice, but I don't want them under my house! Son said it was a baby one, born this year. It was about 4 and a half feet long. It was still wriggling and Lucy was barking and trying to get it, and I was screaming. What a palaver. I'll send pics after a while.
Hope everything goes well for you at the hospital Frank - thankyou for e-mails.
Ann, what sort of crafts do you do? Did you hear anything about the photo competition?
I didn't know people brought hedgehogs in for the winter. I remember my aunt always brought her old tortoise in, and he stayed in a box under the stairs all winter.
David, I hope you soon get some help. You certainly deserve it. You shouldn't have to struggle with the bath as you do.
I hope you all have a great week - I shall be busy with George. He's 83 and diabetic. Does well to still be making this trip. I have to make sure he eats at the right time and the right food!! Tata, Rubyx

Mandy that was good to get in and out of the hospital so quickly.Parking here in out hospital is very expensive :-S
Frank ,great that the properties are selling well for Conrad :-DThat will be a relief for him.Harvey sounds like he has had a nightmare journey back home.
James and Jess are just about ready to set off to Heathrow.I think I said they have a 12 hour ferry trip to the Island(I was wrong) it is 4 and a half hours.I wonder why I thought it was 12hours :-S :-S
Fitz came up here instead of me going down to him.He was on his way to see his Mum in the Care Home.So him and Chris and me sat outside and had my Pasties for lunch. It is so hot out there.Pasties went down a treat :-D.I must do some more. If Fitz is ok on thursday after his op the 3of us are going to see the Film that Ann went to see .The Liberace one.
Frank it sounds like you have either a new W Pidgeon nest or like you say maybe just adding a few sticks. The babies make a high kind of whistling noise ( a gentle whistling ) if you know what I mean I just hope all the nesting birds finish before we get our Tree Surgeons in on the 7 th Oct.
Mel I keep hearing things about an Indian Summer so hopefully all your Hogs will be fine and not need to come indoors this winter.
Tomorrow Chris and I are going for lunch at Ascough* in Market Harborough.(Ann knows the place :-D.)I have had to cancel the last 2 bookings but we will get there tomorrow . Pasta for us tonight. :-D
