It's pouring down here now!! The garden needs it though.

Frank Report 24 Jul 2013 22:29

Bit late, but I thought I would pop in.

Jan called over this evening with Ella, They were only here about an hour. Ella decided she wanted the toilet before she went home. She washed her hands in the basin. An hour or so later I was watering the garden and thought, why is the boiler roaring away. I went for a pee only to find the HOT TAP was running, and the boiler was working overtime to reheat the water. Little co#.

Thanks Jane you have cheered me up no end, talking about knee replacement. That might happen to me. :-( :-( :-( and with my weak leg, I can see I will be like your sister..

Have watched the ZOO this evening, I think it's been a great series. All the keepers don't look upon it as a job. They love it so much. One guy tonight was an OIL TRADER in the City, and gave it up 9 years ago. and has loved every minute in his job at the zoo ever since.

Ray Mears, was very good also. I love anything to do with animals and nature.

Just going to put my legs up on the head board, to see if this swelling will go down in my feet. I feel like they are ready to burst. :-D :-D Will ring the Drs in the morning to see what I can take for it. With all the tablets I am on Ros won't let me have any of her water tablets.

Jane you be careful looking up trouser legs. If you looked up my shorts tonight, you would get a real surprise.

With that I will sign off and wish you all a good night sleep, mind the bed bugs don't bite.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 24 Jul 2013 22:29

Ann what a waste smashing up their hot tub. I am sure they could have sold it. More money than sense I expect.

I can just imagine Frank in Elestic stockings and his shorts!!!! ha ha ha........

Fiona sounds lie you had a nice walk today with your children, grandchildren and the dog. You shoudl sleep well tonight.

Annx Report 24 Jul 2013 21:12

Kiah looks a happy girl Fiona. Your hubby is making good progress getting the slabs down. It will be much lighter work putting the greenhouse up.

Frank.....in elastic stockings........!! :-D :-D. Frank you don't think your neighbour KNOWS that if he leaves things you will do them? He's very lucky, I think he should buy you a present!!

There was a lot of noise nextdoor last night. The neighbours had a workman round the back. This morning we peeped over the fence and their hot tub had been smashed to bits!! This morning the neighbour was carting the bits off to the tip. Where they had it, it will be in full view of the new houses, so that might be why it had to go. It was only a couple of years old so I'm surprised they didn't try and sell it.

Evening All,

Well I hope it isn't a hot day and that Fitz hasn't gone 'commando' when you start peeking up his trouser leg Jane!!! :-0 ;-)

We always said 'cag- handed' in Staffordshire. The word 'cack' meant 'sh#t there!!!! Mum always called your hands your 'don-dons'. Mum would also say 'stop chopsing' if you were talking too much. lol. Your sandwiches for work were your 'snap'.

Frank, it is difficult to explain how to save the photo to add without knowing what system you use etc. The simplest thing to do I think would be to open the photos on your screen, take a photo of each one on the screen with your camera (one at a time). Then you could download them from your cameral like you normally do. Then change your profile like you did with the canal one.

Mandy I saw that about Peru and the maggots too and decided it was best not to mention it as well!! ;-) Poor Katie losing her rabbit. I bet she is quite upset about it and being a special rabbit......someone else will be very pleased they found it !! I love the idea of a Teddy Bear picnic, but I would have been in tears as I never had a Teddy Bear till I was 8 and I did ask for one several times. Boo-hoo!!

I watched a new programme about parasites etc the other night. A young woman who'd spent 18 months abroad, Malaya I think, had a lump on the inside of her elbow. It turned out to be parasites and she had them in her intestines too. Even worse, an MRI scan picked up a liver fluke which they said could travel to her brain and cause bleeds. She said she'd cared for a baby monkey while she was away and they think that was where the unwelcome guests came from. She hadn't felt ill at all either, was just concerned about the lump. :-S

I did the rocks and plants round the other line socket this morning while it was cooler and OH finished painting the other side and front of the shed......nearly done now. We did some weeding and deadheading then and sat in the corner with a cuppa for a break. We were amazed how many little bees of different sorts were buzzing in and out of the flowers. Then at teatime he got the jetwasher out and I did all the patio so we can put the new table and chairs out tomorrow. My legs were covered in grit and muck after, so I sat on the edge of the bath with my feet under the tap to get clean. I'll have a cool shower just before bed.

We are off to see a consultant at a Thalassaemia clinic on Friday. OH's doc must have referred him. It will be interesting to hear what he says. We tried to explain it was inherited to MIL, but she doesn't understand and just said 'NOT GUILTY'. I don't think she understands you can pass something on to the next generation without knowing you are carrying it yourself!!!

Evening Everyone,

Been another warm but cloudy day till about 2 this afternoon, Went for a walk through the woods with my two girls and the grandchildren and the dog in tow , both girls took turns pushing the buggy through the muddy path, and I sometimes looked after Sofia and the dog, mind you don't know if it was kiah taking me for a walk or me taking Kiah for a walk , she is really strong dog , and it was hard sometimes to keep hold of the leash but when you shout slow down Kiah she does and often keeps stopping to look for Katherine , poor thing , she really is frightened to lose Katherine out of her sight :-D :-D

OH busy in the back garden laying flag stones for green house he is nearly finished as he wants the base done so he can start putting up the greenhouse next week when he is on holiday.

think I will have to have a bath and relax, feeling quite tired now, want it over before I sit down to watch Una Stubbs tonight on Who do you think you Are. (9.00 ) should be a good one, also looking forward to next week as it is Nigel Havers, :-D

Changed pic to Kiah she is in one of her love me moods. <3 <3

David ,my Sister had a knee replacement that didn't go particularly well last year. She hobbled about putting all the pressure on her other leg. That became painful because of the extra work it was doing. But she has come out the other end now and it's all going well.I 'm sure you will be the same .Patience and physio have done wonders.
Once your muscles on your bad leg start to muscle up again it will take the strain off your other leg..It will be a long haul ,but I'm sure you will get there in the end :-D

Mandy ,I have a Rabbit in the garden(don't think it is Katies) :-(..Hopefully someone will find hers and she will get it back .How sad she lost it :-( :-(

Just getting ready to dish up dinner now...I'm just a little bit STARVING
:-S :-S

The R knee's been paining lately all the works its had to do on behalf of the L

Afternoon all
No not much wine Frank.Just a glass and then it was iced cordial Raspberry and Grapefruit .It's very refreshing. My friend had just gone.My word did we talk !!!!! Well she did .Talk for England ,but it is all interesting stuff. She is a really nice person and is the wife(second wife) of one of Chris's ex partners from the surgery. His first wife had mental health problems which I have to say was a nightmare for all concerned .Especially their children. They have no contact now .It was so nice to just sit out and have a bite of lunch and a good old blether :-D.I am now back under the fan and have changed into (that long dress) all undies off.It seems like it is hotting up again.
Fitz joined us for a short while while he moved some of the bed into the back of his car.The rest will go on Saturday when Chris will be here to help with the heavy base .

Well done Ruby for looking up those words .I was just about to have a go ,but you saved me the bother :-D Fitz has to wear elastic stocking as he had a DVT after the removal of his kidney.I'm not sure he wears them as much as he should.Next time I see him I will have to have a peek up his trouser leg ;-)

Mandy I bet Hannah has now seen the maggot story.Hope she doesn't get any buzzing in her ears lol.It just gives me the shivers thinking of it :-S.She did know about our friend and the maggot in his ankle.

Frank called me an OLD DUFFER....not heard that one for a while.
I have tea towel with words and meanings from Scotland.I will see if the words are
still clear enough to read and post them.

We had our BLUE BIN today Frank. So we now have the 3 wheelie bins.Black ,Grey and Blue plus the small red one for paper. The small blue one with black lid will go back out for them to take next time.We don't need that one any longer.A very informative leaflet came with the Blue bin which I actually found right outside the front door !! They didn't leave the bin on the pavement.

Mandy I don't remember taking toys or Teddys into school at the end of term.I love the idea of a Teddy Bear Picnic. They have a Teddy Bear Picnic at Wicksteed Park each year :-D

Pasta for us tonight.I'm just going to go and cook up a few chopped mushrooms and bacon lardons to go in the sauce.

I'm BOILING

Ruby, I can just see myself in Elastic stockings and SHORTS If I went outside dressed like that they would lock me up :-D :-D :-D So nice to see you have stayed with us, and join in the chit chat.!! We certainly get through a few subjects, one way or anothe

I have been busy outside this afternoon. Cut and trimmed both my lawns, and as my neighbour is away I have given his a Bloo## good going over and cut away all the long grass around his boarders. If he doesn't notice it this time, I am going to send him to Spec Savers, to get his eyes tested. It looks so much better with both lawns cut and trimmed.

Ros has been busy out the front garden, cutting back one of the bushes. She has filled the green bin already . I can't get to my neighbours as it's locked in his garage. If it was open I could get through to see if I could find my NOZZLE !!!
I hate to be without it :-D :-D :-D

Mandy Ros went to Tesc# early and she said it was packed with people, all buying the salad stuff. I bet they went early hoping to miss the crush ;-) ;-) ;-) That will teach them.

How did your lunch go Jane ?? Not too much wine I hope. I don't want you going to sleep in the sun. You will get a red nose :-D :-D :-D

I'm off for another shower, I am covered in dust from the grass.

I think it will be pasta for tea tonight, together with a few cold BEERS. AH !!!

Still waiting for the post to go. I've pressed send 5 times and still nothing, so watch out,. here we go again

Hello all,

David, I just Googled your lyrics and it's a ballad of John and Yoko Ono.

I haven't talked to you before David, but have been following your progress through your friends on this board, and am so glad you are on the mend.

William, I didn't know any of those words, but like Jane, had heard of cack handed.

Some of you were discussing the fact that you sometimes stop breathing at night. When that happened to my OH, the doc sent him to a clinic to spend the night and his sleep was monitored. The diagnosis was Sleep apnea, and from then on he slept with a machine - C-pac I think it was called. It took a while to get a nose piece for the head contraption which was comfortable, but from then on he had much better sleep.

Frank, have you thought of trying elastic stockings, or socks? I wear them a lot in the summer. Hard to get on, but I apply cream to my feet, and that helps them to slide on, and they feel wonderful. They have the toes out, so I pull them back a bit more and can wear sandals with them. It cuts out the swelling and aching legs. I never thought I'd come to this :-(, but we do what we have to do.

I'd better get on; I'm not even dressed and it's 10:40 here.

Afternoon all,

Phew it's so hot out ,been shopping with DIL this afternoon and one of the shops was so hot ,i was glad to get outside for some air !!

William, i haven't heard many of those words before ,will have to test hubby out with them , he'll wonder what the heck i'am talking about !! :-D

Last day at school for the children , do you remember on the last day you were allowed to take a dolly or a toy into school with you and home came all your school books ,paintings etc.
Katie had to take her teddy bear into school today they were having a teddy bears picnic :-D

I did read about that the other day Jane ,but i didn't like to say about it as Hannah was out there , how awful !! :-S

Sorry David carn't help you on that one.

Got some strawberries from the car boot today and made some nice jam ,i went nice and early before it got to hot .

Had a tune going round and around in my head this afternoon

Christ you know it ain't easy
You know how hard it can be,
And the way things are going
They're gonna crucify me.

Who used to sing that?

Afternoon all/ Evening Kim or is it GOOD NIGHT. ??

Oh what a start to the day.

I opened my Email's all good till one from BT. saying they were unable to collect my payments, Would I update all my details. including my bank details. NO WAY.
I sent them an Email asking for someone to contact me. The Email wouldn't go through. So I rang. BIG MISTAKE. I held on for almost an hour, while waiting I looked at the Email from them again, and click on the reply bit. Up came a notice to say "YOUR ACCOUNT HAS BEEN SUSPENDED" When I finally got to speak to someone. It was the wrong department. after another twenty minutes I had this Indian girl, who I could hardly understand. When I explained everything to her, she said" Oh Mr Bedford, your account is fine, just forget about the Email" it's a mistake.
I asked for an explanation, which she was unable to give me. I had the chance to take a survey, by pressing Nos. Then at the end I could say my bit. And did I say it. I may or may not get a call from them with some apology but I won't hold my breath.

Jane I think I am going to get you certified. :-D :-D You are dangerous to be let out on your own. <3 <3 Poor old Chris having to put up with you. ;-) ;-) Never mind it comes to us all in the end.

I read a line in my book last night. I'm not OLD, "I'm like a good wine, I just age and mature" NO COMMENTS PLEASE !!!

Ann now I have a real job, How do I get the picture from what you sent to my profile ???HELP.

Will I have heard a few of those sayings, but being a Londoner, they don't come mind, like they do to people from your area..

The chap who is building next doors porch , has been round and re-cemented a slab on my step out of the conservatory, it was wobble and I was frightened it would slip away when I stood on it. What a nice chap !!!

The new bit for my sprayer was the wrong one, so I am having to return it. I have ordered another direct from Hozelock, so hope it's right this time.

We have lots of sun here at the moment, and it's very warm and stuffy.

I won't be doing any "HANDSTANDS" today, thank you Jane, may be tomorrow ;-) ;-) ;-)

Jane

Jane Report 24 Jul 2013 11:40

Oh David he is only kidding lol My daughter sends me letters every now and again and we call them the Dementia letters so that when I am old and the old memory has gone she can read them back to me telling me of all the things she has done.I think it is a great idea.My Mum had Dementia and we often passed the time digging out old letters cards ,photos etc.It gave us things to chat about in a nice easy way.

OMG ,just seeing the woman who holidayed in Peru who had a fly lay eggs in her ear and she had maggots eating their way through her ear !!.Hope Hannah hasn't come home with anything like that :-S :-S :-S

Our friend Mark had the same after trekking in Peru and he had noticed a bite on his ankle.Thought nothing much about it other than the fact it was irritating him.Eventually a maggot worked it's way out through the skin !!!!!!!!!!!!.Gives you the willies doesn't it.

The sun is breaking through at last.Chris has forgotten to put up the big Parasol and I can't reach the handle to wind it up.I think Fitz might pop up to take a mattress so I will get him to put it up for me.

The internet keeps dropping out today :-S

Jane, what a cruel thing for Chris to say.No wonder you sleep alone.

DEMENTIA is a very broad topic,a specialised subject.

It PPPs me off when peole call some one demented.Shows a lack of vocabulary.

That PPI caper,I hope I do get some thing back, tired of losing money.

Nice to hear from you Pat.Yes it is more comfortable since the haircut.
Since the contraption came off I'm noticing how pained the front of the R knee is.It,s had to carry the left leg around for so long.Think I'll get a pair roller skates.
