Well we had a good storm with Thunder and lighting and torrential rain about 11.30 am when I was just having a sandwich and a coffee. My it has cooled everywhere down, nice breeze blowing though now as well.
The chap across the road just came over with his small bins (the ones we used for plastic and tins and the other for glass and paper ) asking me if I wanted them, I have 5 of my own. Now I have 7. What the hell I will do with them I don't know, apart from putting things in them from the shed and garage. Then I bet I still won't be able to find what I want :-D :-D
Mandy I thought you said today might FINISH HIM OFF> I wondered what you were going to do with HIM <3 <3 <3
Thanks for the photo Mel, and the info. about the weed treatment.
Jane, I can see one of these days you will loose your head ;-) ;-) Not knowing if you are coming or going. :-S :-S :-S
I have marinated a loin of pork (all cut up) in Soy sauce, Demmarra sp sugar and various other things I found in the cupboard. Mushroom and onion in garlic oil. all cooked down, will add cream later. and new potato's . Won't be to heavy and we can have it ready in half an hour.
Mel, you nearly slipped up, I thought you were going to say "when you put it in a safe place, you could never remember where it was " :-( :-( :-(
DID I TELL YOU KATE HAD A LITTLE BOY AT 4.24 PM YESTERDAY.

Fiona it is so annoying when you put things away safely and then can't remember for the life of you where you put them.
Mum was always doing that so I gave he a little note book to write down where she had hidden things. It worked and if you put the book in the dame place each time you always know where things are.
I think it is about time I started one for myself!!!!!!!

Mel it was me who said we had hail .I'm sure we did.I just went to have a look at the beans and they look ok.The best thing is that so many flowers have appeared since yesterday.Thank you rain :-D The thunder is rumbling on all around and just light rain at the moment.I won't be able to relax until I know Hannah and John have landed .The thought of them flying through thunder and lightening frightens me to bits :-S I feel I need to be doing something but when I get moving it is just to sticky.Maybe I will read for a while :-D

Morning all you hot peeps and evening Kim,
Still a bit overcast here today but still hot also. No sign of any rain here or thunder in the night. Washing dry this morning and I have loads of ironing to do.
Oh is mowing as he said we may have a bit of rain in the next few days. The garden certainly needs it.
Was it really hail you had Jane??????? If it was you want to look at your bean leaves as they may have holes in them.
I agree about the coverage of the Royal Baby. So we all heard you the first time. Do they think people would miss it?
Jane, first you leave the casserole out all night then forget to turn the washing machine on, what next I wonder?
:-0
Well I have a whole haystack of ironing to do so I better make a start.
I was thinking this morning about the bri nylon non iron shirts of the 70's. My hubby wore them at that time and they made the men stink of sweat. I also handwashed them and rubbing the collars took the skin off the middle of my fingers. Never again did I hand wash them and they soon all got thrown away.

Morning Everyone, Evening Kim
Thunder, lightning and the rain teeming down here, just what the garden needed, and i am happy with it being cooler.
William , I was all set to watch Long Lost family too. feeling quite happy that I didn't have to compromise with OH over the Tour de France, THAT'S FINISHED :-D :-D :-D
I wonder if they will put last nights episode on next week ?????? :-S
not a lot on today, will have a shower , and wash my hair,
About 2 months ago while shopping in town I bought a toy cash till , credit cards etc. for Sofia to play shops with , she has already got baskets of food , anyway I had put it away safely so she would not find it, but unfortunately I can't remember where I have put it. :-| :-| so I may have to buy her something else for her birthday in September and hopefully will find the till and wrap it up for Christmas. :-D :-D

Morning to all and Kim and the Royal Baby.
Like you will I was out on the patio and came in to watch Long Lost Families. It was the Royal Birth, followed by news at TEN About the Royal Baby. I turned to my Road Wars, and they kept flashing up NEW ROYAL BABY. turn to SK# NEWS and so on.
After my read in bed I turn on Local Radio for a while. WHAT WAS ON THERE ROYAL BABY. I am a true Royalist, but enough is enough. Nobody made all this fuss when I WAS BORN :-D :-D :-D
I won't be buying a paper for a few days, but Ros will, she buys and keeps all Royal news, and puts it away for Lewis to keep for when he is older. Then he can show his Children. We have box's full of stuff in the loft.
What a storm last night, thunder and lightning and a good old down pour. The builder next door said the A 45 is flooded right across the road. But still people are travelling way in excess of the speed limit.
Ros has gone to Weedon this morning. stitching blankets/cot covers for the babies. She dis say if it gets too hot they will pack up and come home. Five ***** for their effort I don't think I would want to be cooped up in a room full of women (what did I say) :-D :-D :-D
I am commando in just a pair of shorts. The shower this morning only freshened me up for a while.
We have our new BINS Blue for paper, glass, cardboard egg boxes etc etc. Green bin still for Garden refuge, Black bin for all other. BUT NOW a small box for waste food, tea bags, veg cuttings The small one you keep in the kitchen, then transfer it to the bigger one outside. Can you imagine the BLOW FLIES getting in there. They will have a time of their lives. Will certainly spray the bins every time I use it
All windows open 9only the fan lights) back door and conservatory door open and big FAN shaking on it's stem. and still I'm melting.
Going into the garden to catch what breeze there is. Will get back later if I haven't melted away <3 <3 <3

Good day all, up earlyish doing repeat prescriptions on-line.
What a night, hot and sticky going to bed, then I think there seemed to be TWO thunderstorms doing the rounds. Rain bashing down, lightning - and all because some couple had a baby!!! :-D
Carmel watched her soaps last night and I went down at 9pm to watch Long Lost Family - forget it, they milked the new arrival dry and kept repeating things, scenes, all a bit overkill in my mind. Yes, all very nice, but then you got it all again on the 10pm news. Carmel tells me I should lap it up, it's history, I should be proud to have a Royal family. For an Irish woman she's far more royalist than me.
OK, enough ranting, I'm off down the bookies to put a tenner on it being named Kevin!!! :-D
Frank, don't worry about the shed, there's a lot of holes in it and the beers on 'draught' :-0

Still hot!! We have just been sitting outside watching the sheet lightning over the city. Very dark clouds and a few small spots of rain, but I think it will miss us. :-S A little bat was flitting about, not too close though.
Meant to say I love Ted's 'new' dungarees William and that was a good word to describe the heat....'furnace'. OH's baseball cap was sodden when he finished the painting.
Off to bed now, don't think it will be a restful night in this stuffiness......nightie night.

Gosh it is still hot here but it did cloud over this evening and got dark quicker. Oh and I were out in the garden about 9.30pm moving the house and run of the bantam and chicks just after I put the hedgehog food out. I went back to put chick crumbs in for them and on the way back a hedgehog came from under the lower decking saw me and stopped dead still. I called oh and he came out and we watched him together from the upper deck. I have the camera out tonight because we wanted to see if he came from under the decking but with seeing him we know he did!!
Frank I will have a look to see what the stuff was called as the pot was on the table by the back door but he has moved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
O I have just found a bigger pot he bought and it is called Blanket Answer by Cloverleaf. Have a look here.......www.cloverleaf.uk.net

Ann ,Chris is always moaning about me disturbing him at night( I think it is the other way around ;-) ).I.m sure he will be trying to bundle me off to the new bed when we get it lol.Why me??? He could shuffle off if he is that bothered :-D :-D I see the Royal Baby has arrived.they are certainly going to town on it on tv.That's good but it is all going over the same things again and again and it gets a bit too much to bare .I'm very happy for William and Kate that they now have their baby, they will be all over the place emotionally for the next few days...I remember it well with Hannah.Chris was like he was on drugs for a week lol .High as a bl**** kite (not with it at all ) off in cuckoo land .
The sky is getting really black now ,and Chris is going to turn off the Modem so the computers don't get messed up if there should be any power failure. So I will say Night Night now before he flicks the switch. I'm off for a cool shower .

Oh my it's HOT. So much for my shower earlier. I feel like a lump of lard. !!! Have been out and watered the greenhouse. The clouds are building, so I didn't do the rest of the garden. I will be cross if it don't rain :-( :-( Slight breeze getting up, so we will have to see.
Boozing in the shed Will, what the devil next. You had better put your foot down or the neighbours will be complaining :-D :-D :-D OR JOINING IN :-D :-D
Mel, I would like to know what you used in your pond. Could you pm me or send an Email. Thanks. Your knee sounds a bit like mine, you never know when it's going to let you down. Does yours lock up at the back of the knee ?? I nearly went for a "Ball of chalk" down the garden when I tripped down the patio steps this afternoon.
Gave up trying to sit out, those thunder flies and midges are everywhere. Got bitten under the arm pit this afternoon, and round my ankle again.
Poor old Toby. It does seem a shame that they can't tell you when they are uncomfortable in the heat. But they always seem to find a place where they are out of it.
No Jane, Nothing to report on the Holiday front. With Conrad in Spain, I suppose we can always pop over there, but Ros hates the heat.
I'm off to the patio with a cold beer, anyone want to join me ???

Ah, a new double bed Jane! YOU will be able to stretch out in it too! You might want to 'move in'. ;-) Just think, the fan could be going full blast.....window wide open, reading to your heart's content.....
I forgot to say that we have had seperate bedrooms ever since we moved in together. When OH stayed over at times before that, we couldn't get a good night's sleep, he fidgetted and flung the clothes about and I am a light sleeper and then the hot flushes.......me too hot, him not!! Plus the early hours he got up for work!! We set up our 2 bedrooms here with double beds, our own tvs, reading lights and things about. We often share to watch a tv prog, a natter etc, but find we sleep best in our own bed. What nonsense it is that people think it is odd or weird or that a marriage is on the rocks if they don't share a marital bed. OH says it was always the poor that shared bedrooms, the rich always had their own bedrooms, as does the Queen!! ;-) Mind you, I'm sure MIL would think it odd, but then I'm sure she thinks it strange that I as a woman go out without my husband even in the daytime!!! lol. She's always questioning OH about what I'm doing when he calls to pick FIL up for footie and doesn't know what to say when he says he's no idea!!! It doesn't fit with what she thinks is right and proper behaviour for a wife!! lol. MIL would NEVER been seen in trousers either.......whatever must she make of me!
The skies gone black here now, but the air is so still and oppressive. OH is wheeling the bins out......he thinks there will be a storm.

Jane, Edward Bear has only just arrived and had his new dungarees and already he's getting the other creatures into mischief ! I'll have to keep an eye on him, I don't think my shed has got a licence for alcohol :-D
I got out in the garden this morning doing different jobs while it was a bit cloudy and cooler. Good job I did, it's like a furnace out there now. I was up to my neck in doing some new planters, glove all covered in compost when the phone rang inside. Carmel told me I was quicker and nearer than her, and to get the call. I didn't even have time to take the gloves off and there was compost bits all over the sideboard. Luckily it was a mate of mine, I so I was excused.

Oh Mandy, I can just imagine you saying 'less of your lip'. lol It must be painful though and not easy to put anything on it without tasting it. I bet Toby has been flopped out in the shade today. Does he like the pool, or is he a bit too old for that? That's a good idea to shade your cucumber.....ours looks a bit wilted today so I've given it more water.
Frank that's even worse finding that you were paying 2 companies at once! I've just done a check of the online fuel bills and see we've been with this company for 12 months. The last bill is a 12 month statement showing the gas as estimated (despite us giving readings each time) and the total electricity. We did have a new meter ages ago, so maybe they have carried on with that!! I don't think we will owe much if we do, it all depends when we had the new meter fitted. The daft thing is, if they bothered to come and READ the meter, they would have soon found the error!! The meters are all on the outside walls, so can be read any time. I have noticed a link where you can complain, but will await the outcome first. ;-)
Frank you were a little devil when you were young!! You make Lewis seem like an 'angel'!! lol
Mel, we have gas fired central heating and a gas hob on the cooker. There is also a hole in the wall gas fire in the lounge......not used yet, but there in case of power cuts stopping the central heating pump working. I know just what you mean about 'cornering' in the supermarket with a trolley and dodgy knee.....it really makes them twinge worse!! Mine have been quite sore since I did the rocks, couldn't get them comfy in bed last night. I hope yours soon improves again. It's a nuisance when you want to get on with things and your body won't let you!!
The stirfry was delish. I added some of our french beans and mangetout. Then I nipped to the co-*p in the village to post a letter. OH came out to the car with me and I told him the gearknob (metal) would be boiling hot. He reached across to test it and yelped and let go quick!! I bet he'd thought I was exagerating......he doesn't any more though!!! :-D :-D ;-) I drove with a cloth over it. I wanted some jelly to make but the shelf was empty so I came back with a nice trifle instead. :-)
Fiona I had a chuckle at the thought of your daughter sharing her sarnies. I bet the bunnies were really keen on the salad in them!! :-)
No sign of any storms yet........could do with the rain now OH has got the waterbutts back in place.
