Afternoon All.

Im still about. Have just read some of your posts.

We have had a busy week here..Last weekend we were at my youngest sons in Dover...First time we had been there for 5 months...then ended up being hit going around one of the roundabouts by a foreign lorry driver.A bit frightening but Alan managed to steady the car as it push us forward.. Lucky we didn't hit the kerb or anything..The car is in for repair now. but wont be fixed before our holiday to Norfolk on Friday so we have a courtesy car..

Clare came with her 3 children on Monday and stayed until Thursday afternoon.I still went into work Wed and left them to their own devices..

Oh to have a tidy and quiet house again..It was lovely to have them to stay lol

Afternoon All,

We had a bit of rain in the night, but it wasn't much. The garden still looks parched and in need of water. Just been out and got some milk and the papers and called in the dogs home shop for a mooch round. Someone had brought in 4 carrier bagsful of LEGO with pieces of tiled roof and allsorts in it!! A lady was looking at it and said her 4 year old grandaughter was building a LEGO village on a table and would be thrilled to bits to get some of it. :-) They were also 'babysitting' a sweet little pom cross shitzu puppy, fawn and white, called Rosie that was so sweet and enjoying all the fuss being made of her.

It's a shame it rained for you Mel, but that sounds quite a walk you had yesterday. I've not seen cheesy chips before, but they sound very tasty and moreish........just what you fancy after a tiring walk. :-D I hope you have a fine day for the dog show......do you go and watch?

David, that is very poor that you still can't get into your emails. Is this any help or maybe it is the freephone number you have tried?

http://mytechstaff.co.uk/yahoo_support.html?gclid=CPXb5KSKlrkCFcbLtAodzQQAeg

This is for small businesses, but I wondered if the same applies about access after changing a password etc?

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/smallbusiness/bizmail/access/access-31.html

You can't carry on without emails can you!! :-S

Mandy, that's horrid!! I hate it when they get in bedding too...yuk!! I have noticed more creepy crawlies have started coming inside now. :-S

I'm always putting stuff in the dishwasher that catches and clonks!!

OH is off to the match this afternoon. A friend of his will be going with him as well as his dad today, so he will have 2 walkers to put in the boot and get out!! I told him to watch his back doing it or he will be needing one too before long!!

Going to look at Frank's jokes now.... :-)

Afternoon All, Evening Kim,

Wow Jane no wonder your gutted about your wedding ring that's a long time.

My Great Grandmother was married in 1896 she died in 1909 so only wore her wedding ring for about 13 years, my papa kept it and gave it to my mum when she got married (she was the oldest daughter) that was in 1954 she wore it for 45 years and was buried with it,

Mum gave me her engagement ring shortly before she past away saying keep it safe till I am gone( she knew she wouldn't be coming out of hospital) then you can wear it, I wore it as a eternity ring for the first time at her funeral. and it's still there in between my engagement ring and wedding ring today .

felt a bit daft this morning walking round Sain*bury's in a wooly hat but it worked really well keeping the cold air from the A/C and the fridges off my head :-D

we are having pasta for lunch, :-D :-D

Ann you did have a busy rotton day. Bet you were glad to get in bed that night!! I know I would be.

Put the camera out last night but someone had been fiddling with it and I only got stills. Oh reset it this morning after I downloaded the pics and cleared the card.

My foot is playing up today along the outer side it hurts. Must have bruised it a bit somehow or it was all the walking we did yesterday.

I see you have been cut of in mid sentence Mel :-D :-D :-D

Morning all/Evening Kim.

We have the rain :-( :-( :-( very fine drizzle at the moment. When I got up, it looked like we were going to get the "wet stuff" so I put all the houseplants on the patio, to get a wash and a drink of rain water.

Ros worked in the garden till six o'clock last night. She was glad to get in the shower, and when finished put her nightdress on, and settled down for the evening to watch her soaps, and the "Burrowers" She had recorded Dr. Martin. so watched that later. (IS IT A NEW SERIES ???)

You certainly had a day to remember yesterday Ann, I would stay indoors today if I were you. ;-) ;-) ;-)

"THE BIRDS" OMG Jane, I bet you thought you were being invaded . I have seen them on the telephone wires, when they are ready to migrate, but never on a roof top.

David, I think there is no other choice, but to change your supplier. It doesn't look like yours is being much help to you.

All showered and shaved, going to get another cup of tea (THREE) and a bacon sarnie.

Have a safe day whatever you are doing.

Todays supply of jokes are winging their way to you.

I will atart again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning All and EveningKim,

Went to Bude yesterday and it rained all day!!!!!!! We were not happy. We walked along the canal for a bit then turned round and came bback and went up the key bit via the icecream place where I had a ginger icecream. Alan wanted to go over the beach to the cafe but we said we were not walking across the beach so we walked round and over the bridge. Had some cheesy chips, bacon and onion and walked back. Tired by this time. They had stalls out on the way up the quay and we bought some scotch eggs and pasties to bring home for tea.

Not caught up completely yet but will try to get on here later. Company leaving here about 2.30 I think and I have to get up the shop before it closes earlier today and oh has to get a gazebo up for the dog show tomorrow on our field.

David I seem to have so many passwords for various sites etc.I have written them all on a long list so I can quickly see what password I need if I am asked to put one in.It is a real pain in the backside :-S.There must be something you can do to get your email set up again.Although I have no idea how :-S

Ann I am gutted about the ring. But at least I know it can be fixed.Just thinking it has been worn for 98 years !!!!!!!.
Hannah and Chris just arrived.

Evening all,

It's been a really hot day here but its now clouded over and looks more like rain !!

That must have been a bit of a fright for you and the poor lady going the wrong way ,we had a lady drive up a slip road here in the town she was drunk and had a baby in the back seat ,she was lucky as she faced a lorry coming the other way !!

I can never tell if they are swallows or swifts ,you certainly have a lot on the roof Jane, and dear little Amelia singing her song bless her :-D

Hubby saw the Red Arrows go over at lunch time ,it was some thing to do with Seasons Catering in Hellesdon, which is celebrating its 10th birthday, before looping and swooping in to land at Norwich Airport.
I don't know of any air show this way Jane i think Lowestoft air show was earlier in the year .

What a day you've had Ann!! i should think you were glad to get home .

No cooking here today we went out for some thing to eat with son and family ,goodness those little ones tucked in !! Jake had a roast chicken dinner ,Chelsea had Carbonara and Katie wanted sausage and chips but she ended up sharing Chelsea's meal .

I'm PPPP'd off with user names and passwords.

I feel like blaming those open e-mails I was receiving, but the problem could be any where.......and it's here in my PC

Annx Report 23 Aug 2013 19:26

David, that must have been annoying getting chips on your car like that. The man must have heard them hitting it!!

Jane that is a shame but a long time to wear a ring! Mine is never on at home........I couldn't do gardening or make pastry with one on.

I was doing some FH research yesterday and came across an obituary for my maternal grandmother's younger brother who was killed in WW1. I don't know why, but the entry was for 1919, 3 years after he was killed, so maybe they didn't know what had happened to him till much later. This is what it said, which was quite touching,

'Friends may think that we forget him
When at times they see us smile
But they little know the sorrow
That the smile hides all the while.'

He was only 26 and 2 years later another of their sons was killed in the war.

Jane Report 23 Aug 2013 19:03

Great day then Ann :-D :-D.As the song goes'Things can only get better' ;-)
I love Tattyhead. He is so tame.I keep wondering if he might be my old Buster.
Yes those birds are so fast, and so noisy too.I love to seem them swooping o catch the insects in the air.It was odd that they were all on my roof as there were none next door.

Hannah should have just arrived in Northampton now.Hopefully she will have had a little chat with Chris and got any tears out of the way before they get home.I can't do any more tears :-(.

Lots of planes in formation going over today.I think they must have been to do with the show in Norfolk.I would have loved to see the Vulcan.

Wellie boots needed for tomorrow by the look of things. If I am going shopping with Hannah I will have to put proper shoes on and I haven't worn them for months as it has been sandals or those ballet pump things.

Just had the quote for all the tree work we need doing. It is nearly £2,000 .GULP!!!!!!
I actually thought it would be more than that.

Kebabs in the oven and cooking nicely I hope.I can just begin to smell them.I marinated the chicken in some stuff and have added peppers, mushrooms, peppers and Halloumi .
I think I might go and sit outside for a bit of air and toughen up ready for Hannahs arrival lol

Annx Report 23 Aug 2013 18:44

Evening All,

Those birds are so quick Jane, you did well to get any of them! I think I forgot to say how sweet your little Robin is......growing some nice new 'head feathers'. I hope Hannah is feeling a little brighter. Any split from someone, apart from the upset, changes all your routine and feels very strange for a while.

That poor lady Frank! I bet being able to tell Ros helped her, even though there isn't anything you can say that can change things. The Turkeys are last Christmas's that weren't sold so were frozen. I'm not sure they will be at their best by waiting till this Christmas though? I need to give them a ring first to see what they have left.......they might have all gone!! Thanks for your e-card.......I could have just polished some of those treats off!!

Well, it seems to have been one thing after another the last 24 hours. I kept dropping stuff yesterday getting food all over the floor to clean up. Then I cleaned all the inside of my car and hoovered it. I had just finished when I tipped up a bowl of dirty water all over the passenger seat!! :-S It was a big puddle for a few moments while it soaked in!! I wiped it off as best I could and luckily, when I looked this morning it hadn't marked the tan leather. Today, I picked the runners, cues and toms and decided to use a carrier bag for the toms instead of a bowl. I put that on the greenhouse path while I reached for some cues that were behind the tomatoes and managed to tread right on it and squash a load of them! :-S Then when we went out at lunch, there was a wedding at the carvery we usually go to so we came back out PDQ......too much noise, crowds and slow service with it being a wedding!! We called at another place, but the menu was all burgers and chips with everything so we didn't stay there. We had just resigned ourselves to popping in M*rrisons when we passed a place called Badger's Mount, a nice small hotel that serves food at lunch time. We had often said we should try it so I said to OH, 'come on turn round, we'll do something different today and go there'. As we swung into the gravelled driveway, we noticed an ambulance pulled up near the entrance. We were just wondering what had happened when a member of staff in chef's clothes came over and said they had had to close today as someone had collapsed. He pointed out the air ambulance helicopter to us that was around the back in the grounds and as we turned to go we saw a paramedic's vehicle as well. Some poor soul was in trouble. So we went to M*rrison's after all. I needed to nip into the ladies first and all 3 were out of order, so I joined a queue at the disabled one. Then, to top it all, there was a long queue at the till as it had gone wrong! The staff were having to use a calculator to work out the bill for everyone. :-S Afterwards we called at B*Q for some of the yellow fence paint for OH to finish off the trellis he's started repainting.......to find it's discontinued now!! :-S Luckily, with a bit of googling since I got home, I found some so we'll be able to finish it.

I meant to say .My wedding ring has snapped!!!!.It was my Nana's and she married in 1915.I had to have it made bigger for me and it must have worn so thin around where the extra bit of gold was put in .I did notice the 'line' but today I noticed it has gone all the way through :-( :-(. I will hot foot it in to a Jewellers tomorrow. It feels most peculiar having a bare finger.I have never not had a wedding ring on since 1981.
