Afternoon All,
Oh no Mandy, what a nuisance.......go on .....you know you want to smile.....like this, :-D :-D. Sounds like more expense and not something to look forward to having done. I take it you weren't crunching ice then?
Frank I had a touch of that trouble while I was out yesterday. I put it down to all the veg and fruit I'd been eating. :-S I was nearly 50 miles from home as well, but was fine then.
LOL Jane.......so it's not just me that gets caught out in these dilemmas!! Mind you, OH would very likely walk in, flinging doors open and 'blowing my cover' and shout loudly what are you standing there for!! :-). At night, I'm leaving the bedroom curtains and all the windows open till the last minute. I just flit about in my birthday suit, doing my teeth etc without the lights on so I'm not 'SEEN' from over the road as it is a bungalow. OH comes looking for me flooding the place with lights on!!!! Does he want the neighbours fainting with shock!! lol Another smashing pic from Hannah..........has she been affected by the altitude?
Mel, it's always the same with these weak bits of the body. I tried to catch up with all my jobs before we last went away and it made my knees worse for a couple of days. Such a nuisance, but good that your knee has recovered this morning.
We were outside before 8.00am this morning before it was too hot and I managed to do the rocks around one of the rotary line pole holes. Then put weed control fleece around it and put a few plants in. OH fetched all the (empty) water butts from the back of the shed and has painted 2 sides of the shed in the shade. I have decided to sell my tumbler compost maker as you have to fill it all at once. I think a wormery might be better for what we want....will look into it. We managed to sell the old pond pump.
Then we went out to eat and I had spinach and ricotta lasagne in a tomato sauce with salad and OH had a chicken and mushroom risotto. Icecream sundaes to follow, so I don't think we'll want anything else today.
Well, I've had no joy with Shirl's pics either. I think they need different software to mine downloading to be able to open them!!
Our pot with waterlily in is definitely becoming the pigeons' watering hole......we have to keep shooing them off. I'll have to find another dish and put it up there to see if they'll use that instead. :-|
I see Maureen's neck of the woods was one of the hottest places yesterday.

Morning All Evening Kim,
Yes Frank it's much cooler today, (so far) and I am finding it easier to cope with, not as tired and head ok.
there's washing on the line, and after lunch I plan to go and do a bit of shopping, Victoria has almost stopped breast feeding ,just last one at bedtime and through the night, so wants me and her dad to look after the kids tomorrow so she can go to M&S for a bra fitting,
Need to buy a new everyday watch something with a neutral strap that I can wear with anything and one that I can read without having to search for glasses or mobile. :-D :-D
coffee time.

Well, I'm still sitting around in my u/pants. Ros took over the bathroom an hour ago, hair wash, shower and whatever you women take so long to do.
One good thing is that the shade will be ready for me soon.
Tummy seems fine this morning, had breakfast and tablets before 9.00 am soon be ready for a coffee and a snack.
Carolyn came round last night. The chap who runs an allotments for her, bought two bags of Broad Beans a bag of New potato's and two large cabbages. As she has gone to Hastings TODAY she bought them round to us. I gave one bag of B B to my neighbour and a cabbage. We will freeze the beans that Ros sat a podded this morning and take a cabbage and some potato's up to Jan's. tomorrow
Mel, I see you are on "HEAT WATCH" down your way, as is the Midlands and East Anglia. It seems Northern England and Scotland isn't too bad.. Will be a bit better for you Fiona. :-D :-D
Right the bathroom is empty, so I'm off for my shower, then to the garden, with a cup of coffee.

Been shopping for just some odd bits and pieces, drink mainly as that seems to be all we're doing ,i got crushed ice this morning the little ones like it in there drink and i think that's better than the cubes ,they like to crunch on it :-S puts my teeth on edge just thinking about it :-S the cubes are a bit on the big side for them .
No i carn't open Shirl's photo's either .
Jane, what a lovely time Hannah and John must be having ,the photo's are fantastic ,it will certainly be a holiday they will remember for a long time . Don't like the sound of the ladder though !! :-0
Not much happening here ,have just hoovered and washed the floors over ,just sitting with a drink and the local paper and maybe a dip in the pool later .
Mel , you will have to give your knee a good talking too!! letting you down ,and just on the days when you want to go out too :-( hope it's not to painful.

Morning/Evening All
I can't open Shirls pics either :-S.Help anyone? Frank all I have planned later is the Hairdressers.3 pm.....I just hope the air con will be full on.
Isn't it typical I put on the most revealing top thing thinking I'm all safe......Then guess who arrives........Yes the window cleaners.I didn't have time to get to the bedroom to put a different one on so had to stand on the landing and wait until I heard the ladder going down and moving along and then dash in ,change and nip back downstairs . All that dashing made me all hot and bothered :-|.I think they have just about finished so will go and strip back off again.Chris is at waiter*** ,and I just caught him to get him to get more ice cubes. We ate getting through so many. The window cleaners have just had a pint of iced squash. It must be such thirsty work for them this weather.

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Another hot one here for us today.
There are too many posts to comment on.
Thanks for the lovely pics Jane and Mandy. Those kids look so cool and happy in the pool and the little one just sitting there enjoying herself. Great.
Yesterday we went to Hartland Quay and spent the day there watching people swimming and going out in their canoes and blow up dingy's The tide was in when we got there and we had lunch watching the sea overlooking a big drop to the rocks below. Oh actually had a paddle with his sister Heather.
I had the job of shortening his shorts before we went out!! Just did it quickly with tape. Also my blasted knee went the night before and I could hardly walk all day. I was helped up the steep slope from the beach by oh and heather. This moring the knee is fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so cross so why do these things happen when you don't need them???????
Glad our David has got rid of his metalwork. Hope you get more comfey soon with sleeping on your back David. Well on the raod to recovery now but take it a little at a time and don't do anything silly.
Off to do the chickens water and open the tunnel then I may have to go and get more chick crumbs as they are eating me out of house and home.

I am having so much trouble getting on here again today. keeps telling me to sign in. Then as you type there is a second between hitting the key, and seeing it on the screen.
Well here we are. Good morning all/Evening Kim. I trust everyone manages to sleep last night.
Had a load of photo's from Shirl yesterday, but couldn't open any. If anyone could open them, can you pass them on please.
Looks like being another HOT ONE. I think the coast may be a bit cooler. so you might not need that pool today Mandy.
I had a very bad tummy last night. I think because I'm not eating much and drinking all this water, there's nothing inside me, but liquid (I know too much info) but after three Imodiu# tablets, I was o.k. to go to bed. Have been fine so fasr. Fingers crossed. :-D :-D
Spoke with Ella last night. "NANNY IS UPSET" she didn't want pappy to go on the plane. BGut I told her I'm here to make her HAPPY. Bless her little cotton socks. She asked if we would like a "sleep over" on Friday, and Saturday. at nannies, so that''s all arranged. We will go tomorrow morning, and stay till Sunday afternoon.
Any plans today ?? None this end, just the shade and my book.
Ros is talking stir fry tonight. So we will see.
Dr has put me on a new tablet to help with reducing the size of my prostrate, and dropping off one of my others. Good old Ros, she sorts those out for me.

Oh Mandy, your pool looks HEAVENLY! The children look so cool and happy playing in it with their dinghies and little Lacey looks so busy in her little pool with the balls. She's getting blonder, just like her sisters. I have my feet soaking in a shallow garden humper with bath foam in(don't use this one for anything in the garden!) under the desk .....lovely.
Fiona, I feel sorry for your daughter and she must feel so frustrated. Since they slashed the numbers of Civil Servants and offices and opened big call centres a few years ago there are inevitable consequences and it isn't all improvement, but they should still have been able to tell your daughter what is causing the delay in her payment. I have sent you a PM.
My hair is awful when I sleep on it wet too Jane!! lol :-| Flat bits, quiffy bits sticking up. I usually have to wet it a bit in the morning. Another lovely pic from Hannah.......an amazing sight I have always wanted to see.....lucky girl. What an interesting time she is having. :-)
William, we weren't in Nuneaton long either......too hot for us!!
Better go and see what OH is watering and then shower and bed.......hopefully to sleep! Nightie night.

Frank if I had known Ros was off for a paddling pool I would have put an order in.I had a little one last year when Rachel (Dubai) came with Ethan That disastrous day !! But I have no idea what happened to the pool.It has vanished. There does seem to be a bit of a breeze now.Hopefully that will keep up and cool things off a bit. Gawd I just caught a glimpse of my hair in the window....I look a fright. After sleeping on it wet last night it has taken on a life of its own !!!!!!!!.It makes me look like a mad woman(NO COMMENT FRANK !!!!).I shall have to do something with it the morning as I'm off to have it cut in the afternoon. James has gone :-D,so it is just the 2 of us now until a week on Monday :-D :-D :-D He is down a Jess's for a week and then off to Nottinghamshire for 3 nights with Jess and 2 other couples in a Cabin/Chalet thing somewhere.Oh therelief of having the house to ourselves.........Then when he comes home Jess will be coming too lol
Just had a couple of pics through from Hannah form Macchu. It looks so amazing...

Blast. I just knocked the mouse off the pad, and lost my post when it hit the floor !!!
David I was saying, it's nice to get down to your under pants, and get ait to your upper legs. Today I have gone commando in a pair of cotton shorts. !! Nice to get a breeze blowing where it doesn't reach usually..
Ros went to town this morning and tried to buy a paddling pool to take to Jan's on Friday for Ella to play in while she's there. THERE IS NOWHERE in Northampton that have got one. Sainsbur## are having another delivery this afternoon, so she's gone again. If she comes home empty handed, I am going to disappear down the garden, the air will be BLUE !!!!
Sorry I missed you this morning Pat you posted a minute before me. Pleased that things are improving with your Son. Perhaps the dog thing will help to get back together as you use to be.
Mandy. You know the old saying little man etc. Now you can let your mind wondering !!! I'm 5' 11" tall. :-D :-D :-D
Have been under the shade all afternoon, with my book and cold drinks, The fridge in the garage is stocked up with all types of drinks. All none alcoholic I might add.
I haven't ever used one of the hoses Will, I have two ordinary ones. One goes down behind the garage, and attached to the fence for the bottom of the Garden and another that I use for the front garden and patio.
Thank Goodness Ros has just walked in with a PADDLING POOL She said the people were going crazy getting their hands on them.
Fiona, It does seem unfair for your daughter. Wanting to work, and can't find any and then not getting what she is due.
OMG it's so humid now, the sun has disappeared but the temp. must still be close to 88/90 degrees, My body is like a wet rag. Shower calling again.
Ann I am sure you are lovely just the way you are. Like all women of a certain age, you all want a bit off here and there. Let nature take it's course ;-) ;-) ;-)
Where's our Jan and Mel. Both out and about I bet. Keeping cool round the supermarket fridges. :-D :-D

I feel too hot and sticky today to even be sociable :-| I'm not even talking to myself :-D It's all too much effort .lol Mandy I want your pool !!!!!.I bet a lot of fun will be had by all the children for the next week or so . I have just made Kebabs for tonight.James will have his soon and then he will be off to Kent.I don't think he is looking forward to the drive in this heat, but at least he will have the air con.I did here trouble with roads melting ,so am keeping everything crossed he has a straight forward trip.
More great pics from Hannah in the early hours.Today she is actually at Macchu Pichu .I think they did kind of trek yesterday and they went up a Mountain called Happy Mountain(it does have a proper name). My word they had to climb up this very high wooden ladder made from what looks like branches !!.No idea how far they had to climb but just seeing her up it gave me the williesShe did say it was all very hard work. But so well worth it.
I have been reading the posts but just haven't the oomph to comment on each one.I'm really sorry.
The oven is pinging so better get these Kebabs out now.BBL

Hi everyone. Hope you are managing to stay in the shade.
Ann, we always seem to be just missing each other. I wasn't in Nuneaton very long, and only went from the Community Café opposite Wilc*, up Queens road, cut through Stratford Street and back to the bus station.
This morning I was up and out early, left here just after 9am. I'd had a phone call from Dyas in Kenilworth to say the item that we'd ordered as Carmel's birthday present to me was now in. After topping up with petrol, I made haste down the Warwick by-pass and was at the store by 9.40am. The item was in and I then asked if I could have a coil hose pipe that I'd seen there last time we were in. At £9.99p they were good value. S*ds law, they were out of stock. I wasn't going to order and have to go all that way again so I headed back for the car park. Then I'd remembered that I seen a similar item in Kenilworth Wilc* for £15 so I thought, oh heck was a fiver between friends and the store is right by where my car was parked. When I went in the hoses had been reduced to £10 and at the check out they refunded my car park fee (20p - big deal) but as the cashier said, better in my pocket than in the councils! So my coil hose actually cost me less than I'd thought.
Have made a start on painting the hobbing foot, I'll send some photos when I've got it done. With the shape of them, even using acrylics, they take a while or otherwise you end up smudging paint.
I have to laugh when I log in and look at the posts, Ann has a yellow lady bird and I have a red one. And Fiona has got a lovely wishing well.
Ann, I do have a pair of shorts something like you described only I refuse to go public in them. But I DO NOT possess any white socks! However, I know it's not fashion PC but I just can't wear sandals without having socks on, so I wear 'flesh' coloured socks! Tom Cruise eat your heart out. I usually wear chinos this weather if I'm in public and I have some nice summery shirts (tasteful of course) and prefer pilot shirts because I need POCKETS!!! ( a sign of getting old).
Going out of my den now as it's a bit sticky up here, even with all our windows open. We had flat dormer roofs to the front and they make it a bit hotter.

Afternoon Everyone
Feeling angry :-| :-|, daughter Katherine is having problems with her job seekers claim, they are messing her about at the job centre, and no ones seems to able to help her, it's not fair , Katherine like many other unemployed people who WANT TO WORK and cannot get a job has to go back and forward every week and spend ages and money on phone calls, they seem to be unable sort out what she is owed etc, she has also rang her local MP and has told the person what is not happening and what she wants to happen, she is now waiting for a reply back.
Weather sunny today, been for coffee with friends now it's time for lunch.

I wish I could wash a bit of me away in the shower Frank! ;-) Just a few bits here and there. lol. I like the sound of Ros's wrapover......you can undo and flap the sides when you are hot. Jan sounds like she is here, there and everywhere at the moment.I had to laugh at you and the sprayer nozzle......I bet your face was a picture when you saw what had happened!! lol.
That's good that things have settled down Pat. I bet you are looking forward to seeing the puppy and I bet Mocha will love it too if it isn't going to be too big and rough for him. Is it a particular breed?
Mandy, can I come too........I think I'd be in and out of your pool all the time in this heat!! :-D You must be really looking forward to having a dip. Now where's my old bathing cap and the swimsuit with the shirred elastic that makes it bobbly all over, I think it was purple and white.
I rang this morning and was told the table etc would be coming this afternoon and to ring back at 1.00pm for a definite time if we wanted. So we went out and as we came back down the close at 12.00pm the delivery lorry was there!!! We haven't unpacked it yet, but at least it has a round table this time. The young chap delivering it was absolutely huge and sounded quite breathless, so I asked him if he wanted a drink. He thanked me and said that the lorry had a water drinks machine in it and a fridge as well. How brilliant for the employer to think of their employees comfort like that. :-)
Well, it's too hot to do any work in the garden so I think I will pop some tops back to a shop and call and get some veg to tray roast with olive oil, garlic and basil later. We can have it with some chicken that's in the fridge.
