DON'T BE A SPOIL SPORT :-D :-D :-D It won't take up a lot of room ;-) ;-)

Have just ordered a replacement nozzle for my sprayer. £5.50. that has taught me a lesson. Make sure the nozzle is on tight. <3 <3

Have just given the veg patch a good soaking, with my new sprinkler. You cad adjust it so it sprays from the left or right or all over. Better that my last one.

Sun lounger out, now waiting for some shade. :-( :-(

Conrad is off back to Spain tonight 6.00 pm flight from East Midlands. Jan is meeting her daughter from Torquay at lunchtime somewhere near Birmingham. She and Conrad will spend the afternoon with Ella (Jan' s G'Daughter). Drop Conrad off at the airport, and take Ella back to hers for 10 days. She will than go down to Torquay for a few weeks, to help Jo out while Ella is on school holidays.

We are going up on Friday for a possible stay over. I am taking Ribs and Chicken for a BBQ. Ros will make a salad, and Jan the sweet.

The fan is going full blast in the lounge. Ros has a wrap round thingy on, she looks quiye cool. I'm in my usual shorts and slippers, with those tiny socks on.

Ros has ironed and re-hung the BIG curtains.

Yesterday afternoon, why trying to pull up all the bind weed, I disturbed a tiny spiders nest. There were hundreds of the little blighters running all over me. I gad to dive into the shower to get rid of them, I am spending more time in the shower than anything else, I will wash myself away. But it does feel great when you first get out.

Morning All and evening kim...

Hot enough for you all a part from Kim.
Schools break up next week and I hear it is even going to be hotter,

Was at Hayling isand at the weekend at my daughters..A lovely breeze there.Spent a few hours on the beach both days..Havent seen the beach that crowded before..We were just lucky with the weather when we arranged this visit.
Things seem to be going well with my son at the moment... just need to sort a visit out sometime..They now have just got a puupy hence we have to work around jabs because of Mocha...

Eldest son had to pop over from paris for a meeting so he popped in Friday afternoon for a quick visit...
So things seem fine at the moment... grandchildren have all been given spending money for their holidays...easier now than having to bring a pressie back ourselves lol

David..I hope things progress well with your leg.

frank ..I seem to chop neighbours side of the fence when they are not in as well and visa versa
Jane lovely photos had to read the thread ..

Mel...I bet your tomatoes smell nice as well..Im in the middle of shortening a pair of white trousers for myself..They are all tacked at the moment.
Im off to work this afternnoon and if I buy a nice top I will blame it on this weather,

Take care all

Morning all/Evening Kim.

You busy bees yesterday, Poor old me sat all alone all day, till Ros came home about 5.30 pm.

We were going to have pasta last night, then Conrad and Jan turned up. They didn't want to eat, so we never bothered to get ourselves anything. About 7.30 the F & C man came down the close. Jan fancied some, so went and got some for herself, still Conrad didn't want anything. They left about 10.00 pm. So we ended up with cheese on toast for a snack. As it turned out that was plenty for me.

Ros had changed the bed yesterday, so after a late shower it was lovely to lay in a cold crisp cotton sheet. I slept on top all night, and was up just after 7.00 am Had lots of dreams again last night (CHEESE)

Oh I did a silly thing last night. The neighbours always go out Tuesday evenings, so I thought a good time to spray though the gravel board gap to kill off all their bind weed and ivy. I pushed the nozzle through the gap and sprayed, when I retrieved the wand, the nozzle had fallen off. I can hardly ask for it back, so will have to try to find another somewhere. SERVES ME RIGHT.

My new lawn sprinkler turned up yesterday, so was able to water the back lawn and flower beds, I bet they loved it. !!

Hope you all have a good day, and take care in the heat.

Morning All, :-)

Another hot one today.......I don't fancy doing errands or jobs . :-S :-S I aught to put the rocks we got around the rotary sockets in the ground as some of the big birds have been tearing the edges of the fleece at the edge of the gravel there. It started because a MOLE has pushed up a bit of the soil!! I hope it doesn't pop up anywhere else.

The NEW table and chairs are due to arrive this afternoon, so fingers crossed it all goes smoothly. ;-)

Have a lovely day Mel, you are going to some nice places. :-D :-D

Jane, why does that last bone in my spine, the coccyx or something and the left buttock be sore?

It gets so your'e scared to move and over a while on hospital food this can cause constipation.

Annx Report 16 Jul 2013 22:25

I suppose it will take quite a while to get the tendons and muscles stretched and strengthened again David. They have had no range or a limited range for a long time now and they can become weakened very quickly. I imagine the expercises and physio are aimed at getting everything in balance again and stronger. That can affect the joints too.

I have a cousin who, because she only ever wore shoes/slippers with a high heel ended up not being able to wear flat shoes at all. The ligaments and muscles in her legs were stretched one one side and shortened the other with wearing the heels so long that eventually they wouldn't stretch the other way. I suppose they may have improved with physio, but she just stuck to her high heels!! :-S

OH has just been watering the front garden and needed to attach the coiled hose to reach. Well, he got all the coils ravelled up in knots so he couldn't straighten it and then brought it to me to sort out!! Then, when it was sorted he said it was a nightmare and that we'd have to get something else!! I've been telling him how awful it was for years, as it was me that used it, but he always insisted it was fine!. :-S It's funny how when a man uses something and has a problem with it something gets sorted!! lol :-| :-) Well, we are both sticky and hot now, so the shower it is and to bed with wet hair like Jane.

Jane

Jane Report 16 Jul 2013 21:08

David ,if you have got away with pressure sores now,you should be fine. You will be able to turn more easily without your metalwork .Long haul ahead with physio but I'm sure you will get there :-D

I am so hot and sticky and my hair is yucky ,so I am going for a shower and just rinse my hair.I will go to bed with it wet and wash it properly in the morning......My Mum would have a fit if she could see me going to bed with wet hair !!!!!....I might catch a cold lol.
No doubt I will be awake around 4am.For some reason that is the time Hannah's pics come through on my phone. Then I just have to have a look lol.
Night Night everyone .I hope we all manage to have a comfortable nights sleep xx

Well Milly it's deen off since Wednesday pm and I have to confess it really hurts.
.
I'd looked forward to sleeing on my side Ann but I'm still sleeping on my back about 2 hours at a time.

It makes the cheeks of your bottom sore.I dread pressure sores.

Yes the physiotherapists can be sadistic at times but long run it helps.

My knee seems twisted inward and the muscles from ankle to groin on my left have went very thin and weak.Hopefully all this can be reversed.

Thanks for all your concern

Evening all,

Another scorcher , the family will be here tomorrow for tea and a dip in the pool.

Frank, i turned up at the station where were you !!! :-D never mind there's always tomorrow :-D

Oh David you must be so pleased to get rid of your metal !! it must have been awful in this heat to have to drag that around with you ,hopefully your on the mend now .

L*dl's use to sell a lovely Coffee ice cream but i haven't seen it in there for a while now ,there was a recipe in the Waitr*se booklet for a Peach and Ginger ice cream i'am going to give that a go tomorrow .oh .... i forgot the ginger ...oh well it will have to be just peach then.

Stripped the bed today and when i made it up again i thought i'd just put the quilt cover on the bed with no quilt inside so it's a double cover over us rather than just having a sheet over us ,i just carn't sleep with nothing over me .

Annx Report 16 Jul 2013 18:43

Frank, your shorts as described sound fine!!:-) It is the socks that ruin the look like Fiona says. OH won't wear sandals so wears trainers with his shorts and those socks you can't see. He can't go bare chested in the sun as he comes out in rashes! :-S Nothing beats sitting under a nice shady tree with a few little birds twittering. Thanks for all the emails .......you do us proud.....and that helicopter was quite something!! I've been in a much smaller helicopter just twice.....to the Scilly Isles and back.

Jane, I'm loving the pics that Hannah is sending. I knew they ate guinea pigs from reading Tschiffley's Ride in the 60s. (true account of a 10,000 mile journey on horseback from Argentina to Washington .......he also ate the coca leaves to cope with the altitude!), but those are the crested guinea pigs and I think of those as pets!! :-0 I never realised that coca was in Coca C*la either......maybe that's what gives it the unique taste? The place she stayed looks very civilised.

Excellent news David!! Your leg must feel lighter and freer without that metal thing on it. I suppose it will be sore till the holes are healed up, but you are getting there bit by bit!! :-) The physio must take it out of you......not something you enjoy, but very necessary. Keep us posted won't you! :-)

William we could have passed each other in Nuneaton......OH decided to nip over there as it's cheaper to park than in the city and they have a branch of his bank there. (I keep telling him to change to one nearer, but he thinks it will be hassle....probably right!!). In the first 5 mins I was accosted by a very loud, odd man. I tried to ignore him, but he insisted on showing me bites on his arm!! OH says I seem to attract them!! :-S. We then went for our carvery and I had strawberries and icecream after. Then we went to 4 garden centres before we found some of the purple rocks to do round the bits where the rotary line poles go in the ground. Everywhere was sweltering, so we were nipping round quickly before jumping into the roasting car, then cooling off before the next place!! Phew!! The lad that offered to load them could only just lift one of them, but they are round the back now ready for me to fix in place.

Mel, sounds like a good day yesterday.......I love coffee icecream, but you hardly see it round here.

Hope you get some pics from the dvd Fiona to put in the album......so you have had sun again too!! :-D

OH has gone to a footie match tonight (as well as tomorrow night), so that will give me chance to catch up on a few things......!!

I don't think we are going to have hanging baskets round the back next year. They tend to spin around out of position and bits snap off when it is a bit windy. Also, they stick out over the patio so the watering causes marks on the slabs. We have found some wide, fibreglass wall planters that we think will be good on the bit of wall between the patio and garage door. We can have one above the other and the water will drain onto the gravel strip at the edge of the slabs. Also they will be easier for me to reach to deadhead and water as well.

Hello all, it aint 'alf 'ot Mum!!!
Went to Nuneaton this morning on the bus (good old pass) just by myself to get my feet done. Mmmmm, feels good now, worth every penny of the £5 I paid. :-) Didn't delay as Carmel was still at home. After a quick lunch we went to the local Gallagher Park shopping area, you know, these new open places where there's nowhere to sit if you're tired and no where to go if you're busting!!!
Apart from that we did manage to get some things in the cheap shops there that we haven't been able to get elsewhere. I did see something that took the biscuit though. A woman was sitting in her parked car eating an ice cream cone at the same time that she chatting on her mobile phone!
Found some reduced solar dragon fly lights in one shop so it will interesting to see what they look like tonight.
Oh, yes, Oswald Owl was lit up last night, two shiny eyes peering out of the darkness.
Mel, thank you for you card that you posted. I didn't realise it was you and ended up sending a thank you text to our - friend of many years - Mel, and asked her what she was doing in Exeter. I had a rather bemused reply today because she had entirely forgotten my birthday :-D - so thank you very much.

Fiona I hope you manage to get some nice photos to put in the album.Sometimes these days it's all video at these occasions or phone cameras.
I have sent a few pics on now.Hope I haven't missed anyone out.

Chris has crashed out on the settee !!!!!! and is snoring :-S.Everywhere outside sounds so quiet ,even from the A14........We should all take a Siesta in this heat like they do abroad. It is so sensible and then stay up later in the evening.
I hope next door are making sure their chickens are protected otherwise they end up with lots of Roasted ones.I never trust them to look after any thing properly :-S
I just heard a couple of the lads from next door come in and say 'Oh S*** the waters gone down a lot" That'll be the swimming pool.Iknow it had a leak some years ago which is why Gina never had it fixed(too expensive for her) as it would mean taking all the tiles off.No doubt they will be topping it up now :-D
I don't quite know what to do with myself .As snoring Norman is in here and if I put the TV on it will wake him up :-S.............My washing dried on the line in about half an hour :-0.That must be a record.
Think I will read my Kindle for a while

David ,just spotted you there .What a relief it must be to get that weight off your leg, especially in this hot weather..They must keep that bed especially for you :-D
Hopefully now things will move on swiftly for you in your recovery...Just don't get any ideas about leaping over walls ;-) So much easier now though for you to be able to move around. This time next year you might be frolicking around like a new born lamb :-D :-D

Great news David, the last thing you need this weather is that "CONTRAPTION" on your leg. It all UP from now on. Take care of yourself, thinking of you. !!!

My cherry tree is worth it's weight in gold again today. I have been under it as soon it cast a shadow, and am going back out soon with another cold drink.

Can't seem to clear my ear, I keep pinching my nose and blowing, but all I get is a swishing sound. and makes me go giddy. (NO I HAVEN'T been on the beer :-D :-D :-D

I visited fracture clicic last Tuesday pm after another X ray.
Saw the surgeon who readmitted me to ward 23 (you've guessed which bed)

The following afternoon taken to anesthesisia then surgery.

The contraption as it has been so often refered to was removed.
From there to recovery then back to the ward.

It's still painfull but it's early days
The pin holes and bolt holes have dressings on which have been changed twice.

I was discharged again late Sunday morning, four and a half months after the injury.

The rest of the healing will be through physiotherapy, occasionional scans and visits to the fracture clinic.

Well it's no sun for us again today, watched the weather on the TV at lunch time and the West of Scotland is covered with cloud, I have the window open at the moment it's not cold , but it is cool,

Frank, I have sinus trouble sometimes and my ears go pop and i have to keep wriggling the ear for it to clear.

I spoke too soon ,maybe the sun is trying to peep through just a little now & again.

Seems there was no photo's taken at Matteo's baptism, but there is a DVD of the baptism and the meal afterwards. and Sofia playing in the garden at Daniele's parents house, I am hoping that Katherine's boyfriend Jake will be able to get some still photo's from this DVD, as I want to put them in the Photo album which I gave as a christening present.
