Just back from a family reunion in Ireland. (Co Mayo - one of the nicer Irish counties!).
Relations by the dozen - well, nearly 30 including two from New York.
Lots of remembrances & tales from our youth. Visits to the old homestead & districts nearby.
That's enough excitement for one week.

Back from the hairdresser.I feel a lot more comfortable now as I was beginning to feel like a sheep lol. Also while I was there I had a complimentary Hand massage. That was just lovely :-D.There is a new beauty salon upstairs and I think they are trying to drum up business. They do Indian Head massages there too :-D :-D.I find them so relaxing and haven't had one in years ,so I might just treat myself to one soon.
Maureen how horrible for you getting all the dog ends or joint butts blowing over to you. :-S.How old is the p*g ?I remember leaning out of my bedroom a few times having a crafty fag lol.I'm sure my parents weren't that green not to know what I was doing. That was in the day when you could buy single cigarettes at the post office in the village.Mr Branny would just open up a pack .Can you imagine that now.Of course they would be fined or something for selling to underage kids.
It is so muggy here now and not a sign of any sun.No rain though .I would actually quite like to go and stand in a little shower now
I have just bought the ET (local paper) and the headline is about Robbers who attacked a 64 year year old lady as she was visiting a grave at the Crem. They threatened her with a knife ,threw her to the ground and demanded her car keys. They left her and made off with her car !!!!!!.How terrible is that :-S :-S.That poor lady :-( I know it is a huge place there and some spots will be quite isolated so that might have made it easier for the b****** to get away with the robbery.I don't suppose that there would be any cctv there either..As we say 'What is the world coming to' :-( :-(
It is steak for us tonight ,nice Rib Eye ones :-D
I can hear Chris in the Study trying to learn a bit of Italian in readiness for our holiday. Lord help us.He is good at many things but foreign languages is a different matter altogether :-S.

Forgot to mention Frank, cigarette smoke wafting over the fence is unpleasant but not as bad as my neighbour's son who smokes cannabis, he must lean out of his bedroom window, the smell is horrible, then he throws the ends onto their flat roof and when it's windy they blow onto my decking. I've given up complaining to them and just throw them back onto their patio now, the parents are really nice but he is an arrogant p*g. I wonder his brain isn't addled the amount he smokes.

Quite a bit of rain and very dull here now, I'm hoping it'll brighten up later for me to sit out and read my book. At least son said the roof is now all watertight, so labourers hat on tomorrow as he will be puting tiles all around the dormer, then I'm off on Saturday for a weekend with my daughter, if the weather is good enough will sit in her garden and be fed and watered.
Thanks for the information on the plant/weed have passed that on to my friend.
Lovely children William, I suppose I could have great grandchildren, granson is old enough but he is more interested in his ice hockey career to even think about girls right now.
I quite liked WDYTYA, not the best one but I thought the prison bit was really interesting especially going into the original cells.
I've got a few wobbly teeth at the back too Ann, but don't think they are quite ready for the tooth fairy. One good thing If you have to have them out at least they won't be too difficult as they are so wobbly.

Morning All. Evening Kim, Surprise Surprise :-D :-D I got on here the first time,
Slow day today, not been outside yet but Victoria & Sofia came for a quick visit just for something to eat :-) :-), wanted a biscuit for after class as Victoria forgot to pick them up on the way out, she was dashing as usual, they were off to music class this morning , just a little class in a local church hall where the children can dance and sing and if Matteo wakes up (fell asleep in the car on the way down) he can shake a rattle and bang a drum :-D
cloudy but no rain . time for a coffee.
Oh just remembered it's the funeral of OH friend today the one who past away last weekend,, it will be mostly close friends and family attending, not many of the work people will be there, but the company want to arranged a memorial service for work people, but OH dose not know the date yet,

Poor old Frank, losing his posts!!! As long as your not losing your marbles matey LOL.
I got a shock when I got on here first time like rain off oil. Maybe they got it sorted at last.
Watched Gary Lineker on WDYTYA last night. I'm sure Ann's parents were enthralled , all those Hinckley connections and Leicester too. I see the guy who went to jail for poaching did some of it in Market Bosworth. I found it interesting - Carmel wasn't keen on it. I think she likes them with a bit more romance.
Went to Nuneaton for most of the day yesterday. Took up quite warm, had to shed my coat. Nothing special, just browsing and buying the odd thing or two. There are couple of items Carmel got in a charity shop that I'll take a photo of sometime and email out. I can't put them in my garden sadly!

Morning/Evening All I can't get going this morning and just feel like creeping back to bed .But I won't :-D. You know the feeling when you wake up feeling exhausted ,that is how I feel .Just cream crackered. I have the hairdressers this afternoon at 3 :-D.Can't wait for that.
It's a funny old morning.Overcast the occasional spot of rain and very close. So it is shorts for me again this morning.I think I will crack on with the patio weeding .That might help me wake up.
The site seems to be on a go slow again.Looks like some people have had enough :-S

Just been hedgehog watching. WE had two at one bowl so it was quite interesting and we had had one down the bottom of the back garden earlier. Then we heard one round the back of the decking. I think that one was the one I found in oh's garage as it had a sort of cough.

Evening All,
So sorry to hear about Martine Frank, what a shock for everyone. I hope it was a mild one and that she makes a quick recovery. Thanks for mentioning ' The Wheatsheaf'. OH is always saying we should try different places and there are some lovely country pubs out that way.
Jane, not another leak!! :-S It sounds like the pipe from the drain from the shower may have come loose. Can you remove the cover around the base to have a look? I hope it isn't water pipes again! I don't seem to have got your Robin Pic?
Mandy, that was adding insult to injury over your hubby's tablets wasn' it. I hope you didn't have to travel far. They really need to take more care as it could be very dangerous giving out the wrong tablets.
We popped to the garden centre at the next village for lunch, all home made and nicely cooked. They know us well there now. If I ask what something comes with, the answer is 'what would you like?' ;-) We both had chicken and mushroom pie and she does us a big dish of mixed veg as she knows I only have maybe 1 potato. OH polishes the rest off!! Then we had her apple and pear crumble with custard.....all very nice. While we sat there I told OH I kept getting a sharp pain at the end of my thumb. Without even looking up he said, 'that will be from me trying to get from under it!!!' I had to laugh, the cheeky beggar!!! lol. After we had read the papers, we went to Boundary Mill at Grantham. They had a fantastic sale on, particularly of good dresses, some over £90 ones reduced to under £20......if only I was slim enough!! :-S We did get a nice duvet and curtain set at half price which was a good saving, so I was chuffed with that. I also got some jewellery bits and bobs too.....they were 70% off!! Now OH has gone to a match close by.
William, they are lovely little children. I can just picture Maggie doing the rounds to check who was 'going'.
I'm not looking forward to my dentist appointment in the morning.......I think the two loose back teeth will be going, but maybe at another appointment!! :-S I can't chew on them as they wobble and hurt and one has moved sideways so they aren't much use now. :-0

Well and truely worn out..........................
Oh cleaned the kitchen windows for me inside and out today too Frank so us girls are very pleased with our hubbies today. He also cleaned all the caravan windows inside and out. I have cleaned the kitchen bathroom hall and bedroom and hav'nt got anything out for dinner so we are going to have egg and bacon sandwiches.
Jane it will be good for Hannah to have a few days away with her girlfriends. I hope she is feeling a bit better now but I know it must be very hard for her to come to terms with the breakup. He seemed such a nice boy.....................just shows you you can never really tell until you live with someone.
Frank that was very lucky with the mirror!! :-S :-S :-S :-S You must put it on some of that wire stuff for hanging pictures or get it screwed to the wall. It could have been nasty it it had fallen whilst Ros was cleaning it.
We have had a very hot and sticky day here today but it clouded over about 7pm and we had a short sharp shower.
Company arrives tomorrow and I think it could be quite early when they arrive.

Hello everyone,
Been a lovely day here, very cloudy at first but muggy and then about 11 this morning it started to rain, but only a light shower, then about 3 this afternoon the sun came out and it was lovely and warm, so it was a quick change from the jeans and into a light top and linen trousers and straight under the brolly to read my book.
Katherine went into Glasgow at 3 this afternoon wanted to look around the shops till her interview which was at 3.45, she said the lady was really nice and her appointment was the last one for that day which was good means whatever was said would be remembered after, so here's keeping she gets a second interview will hopefully know on Friday or next Monday at the latest. :-) :-)

David it is not only the skirting but floorboards too :-S :-S.Chris said he will have a look !!!!!!!!.But to be honest I don't have a lot of faith in him being able to sort out this problem.I think it wlll be yet another insurance job :-S. David have you changed your email address? Can you let me know please.
Frank ,NO NOT THIS MONTH.He finishes on the 20th September.I have a months grace :-D :-D.But is coming around very quickly now !!! I know this do with the girls is likely to be quite a boozy affair lol.As he says they do like a party. He is going to pay for the bar!!!!!!!.He asked me how much did I think was a reasonable amount........I suggested he takes out a loan :-D :-D :-D.I'm sure it will be a lovely evening :-D
I'm swanning around in that Maxi dress I bought a few weeks ago.I never did get it shortened. But it's fine for at home.James did a double take when he saw me earlier. The last time he saw me in a dress was 2 years ago at a wedding we went to.
Hannah just called. She is ok,and just holding it together.Totally exhausted though which is understandable. She will be coming home on Friday for the Bank Holiday. She needs to go back to the flat for a night or two to sort some of her things,so John will have to go and stay with a friend while she does that. I think we will be having a little trip to Primar* in Corby on Saturday so she can get some Flip Flops and a Bikini for her mini break with her girlfriends to Barcelona at the end of next week..Hopefully that will be a good break for her, leaving all the worries behind for 3 nights.(sorry if I have already said this).I have lost track :-S James is off next week for the Greek holiday with Jess...Whoopee house to ourselves again for nearly a fortnight :-D :-D

Before you get that rotten water damaged skirting board fixed see if a repair would be permissable through your insurance. Some companies might say they already settled water damage etc last time.
Very overcast here but no rain.

Mandy I hope whoever gave those pills to someone has been hauled over the coals. It is unacceptable for something like that to happen. Yes I'm not sure how Chris will feel with this big do.He hates being the centre of attention and also will probably have to do some kind of speech :-S :-S.I have a feeling there will be lots of tears too from the girls. They are obviously very fond of Chris as they have not done this before for another Dr.Normally it would be a meal out with the Partners and wives and Practice Manager.I expect that will happen too .
Heavens Frank that must have given you a fright when the mirror slipped like that :-0 We forget these bits of string holding up heavy pictures and mirrors. They are there for years and gradually wearing thin.Sounds like it was a lucky thing you were both there when it happened :-D
I still haven't done the beans and carrots :-S :-S.I ended up doing some ironing, and am now being friends with the big fan :-D

NORTH WALSHAM, was where I was in the RAF. I did go there a few years ago when Conrad worked at Heacham selling holiday homes (caravans). That's where the lavender fields are.
Well dinner all sorted. PORK shoulder steaks, Roasts, Runners, peas and carrots. and my special sauce of onions, mushrooms, garlic and cream. Makes a change from gravy. If Chris needs any help with all those girls, tell him to give me a call ;-) ;-) ;-) Is it the end of this month, that you have him round your feet, every day ??? I bet you are looking forward to that :-( :-( :-( :-( :-P :-P :-P :-P Just think of all the jobs you can find him to do. !!!
Mandy, I would be incline to write to Boo#'s head office in Nottingham over these tablets being given to the wrong person. Heads will roll as they say ~!!
The girls are back, so I will be off, see you later.

Sorry to hear that Frank, what a shock for you both , has she had any heart trouble before ? What luck with the mirror ,hanging by a thread !! you would have had a nasty mess if it had fallen !! and seven years bad luck don't they say !!
Oh poor Chris i don't suppose he wants much fuss :-S :-D all those ladies :-D :-D
I think North Walsham is about 25 miles from us and about 8 miles to the coast ,he's picked a good couple of days to come, the weather should be good.
It was bad of B*ots, hubby has strong pain killers imagine if they had got into the wrong hands !!
Turkeys all cooked and in the fridge , jacket potatoes for tonight then hubby can have some turkey with them and a bit of salad ,nice and easy .
