Cloudy here today , we are forecast for some rain, we could do with some as the gardens and the grass are really needing it. especially where the skip was, the man came this morning and took it away it has left a big brown square where it had been sitting, but it will soon grow back.

I've not got a lot on today, though I will have to hoover and wash the kitchen/breakfast room floor , it gets really dirty when there's lots of people traipsing in and out from the garden all day, good job it's tiled.

Morning all/Evening Kim,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILL. Have a good one. Got anything planned ???

Mandy I think I missed out about these photo's Where did they come from.??? I bet you are over the moon.

Restless night again, I looked at the clock at what I thought was 7.20 am and got up. I went to put the kettle on, looked at kitchen clock and it was 4.40 AM I was wide awake so to late to go back to bed, so opened all door are windows and read my book !!! Ready for a doze now.

I have a 10.50 appointment with the nurse for my right ear.(BUNGED UP) been putting olive oil in it. Then 11.00 am with the doctor regarding prostate test. Not looking forward to that bit.

Glad the kids had a good day again yesterday Jane. Where are the parents. ???

Mel you look like you will be busy again today, showing SIL around the area.

Still no news of David, do hope everything is O.K.

Mandy, that's wonderful, I'm so pleased for you. I wish I had photos of my grandparents. I don't even remember them because most of them died when I was only a toddler. The fact that there were few cameras about didn't help matters. You can cherish them and hold them near to your heart now.

The roast beef dinner went down a treat last night and we did have some good laughs. Now to see what today holds. I'm only on early because I had to put a repeat prescription on.

Did anyone watch Mr & Mrs last night? The winners donated their £20,000 to the Special Baby hospital in Crumlin, Dublin - and that's where Carmel youngest son Jim was born. Seems strange that we lost him this year and then they donate to the very hospital where he was born. Of course there is no National Health in Ireland so that money must be crucial for young parents and their babies.

Hav'nt read the posts but am knackered. We are going to Boscastle tomorrow as Heather and Alan hav'nt been there and we have to occupy Stephanie.

We played boules on the front lawn today and had a real laugh. Stephanie won most games!!
She is really good and played for her college.

Lovely pics once again Ann thankyou.

Just out the shower as it has been soooooooooo hot here today and I have a little sunburn.

BBQ was smashing, three kinds of sausages, chicken and burgers with salad out the tunnel and rolls and homemade potato salad with boiled eggs in, mint and chives salad cream and mayo.

Off to bed now as I have to be up early so I may not get on here tomorrow.

I see Mandy has the pool up!!!!!! I have been very tempted to go in one of the ponds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mandy that is absolutely incredible that you have got all those generations in one go!!!! I've gone shivery at the thought of it as well, you lucky thing! :-D :-D

I like the pic of your pool......it's making me feel cooler just looking at it. :-)

OH has watered everything now......he's realising what a job it is this weather. I've sent for some end stops for the soaker hose today so we can just plug the hose in to those to do most of it in future. Then it will rain non stop I expect!

Oh Mandy, how great for you to see all those old photo's, I remember when my mother died back in 1999, she died on New years Eve so we had to wait a whole week over the holidays before we could bury her, and during this time for some reason, I had to go into the loft for something and while I was moving bags etc I came across a plastic bag full of old photo's belonging to my mum she had been given them after her dad had died, I was fascinated by them and that was the first time I realised I wanted to find out who they all were and what they did during there lives. Genealogy is a great hobby , and I have now seen pictures of ancestors and met living relatives who I would never have met before.
My only regret is that my mum is not here to share it.

Frank ,we never heard a sound(well just a bit last night),Chris was well away.It is all very noisy again now.More than last night, but they are having great fun by the sound of it.Good on them I say ,just as long as they don't go on until the early hours.

Ann .I reckon Hannah has taken her hair straighteners .Because if she doesn't use them her hair goes curly :-DI know they aren't roughing it and are staying in decent accommodation so must have a plug at hand lol..I love her hair when it is natural ,but sadly she doesn't :-S
Just finished eating now and I just want to crawl into bed.....I might just do than soon and read my book.

Hope William is having a nice evening and enjoying his Roast Beef with family. That will be a lovely birthday treat for him :-D

Nothing from our David.I bet the hot weather won't be good for him especially if he still has his contraption attached.

I'm off now .Hope you all have a comfortable sleep tonight xx

Afternoon All,

It is quite hot again now but a little cooler than yesterday. We had cool showers too before we went to bed last night and I slept much better. I think washing all the pollen off helps. We had a couple of midges Frank.....one each! :-S I hate it when you hear that whining noise as the approach! We have had a few big spiders in the bedroom this week.....I can't sleep when they are around!!

We decided not to go to the show today as we thought it would be too hot and we felt really weary last night. Just the thought of the hot exhibition tents made me come out in the vapours! There are some others later in the month that we could go to so we might do that.

Mandy I bet the girls are itching to get in the pool and can hardly wait for it to warm up.

William I like the Pharoah's spruce up, very nice. I use the milk cartons cut off like that for compost shovels! OH has ruined one using it for the gravel last year. I also use the big old bleach bottles cut off too and they are a bit stronger.

Jane, what fabulous pics Hannah is sending. I want to know how she keeps her hair looking so good, not a hair out of place!!!

We have just had the Buzzzards circling, you can hear them before you notice them. The cows at the back have moved right under the shade of the hedge today where it is cooler.

Frank Report 14 Jul 2013 17:15

Hi there,

Still very warm, I got a shower and shave, and went under the cherry tree for shade with my book.

Came in about 3.30 pm. Got veg done for dinner tonight, with a root of my new potato's Peas, carrots, broad beans, runner beans, No cauliflower with cheese sauce today Jane. Yorkshire pudding round the meat. Nice piece of topside.

Been a lazy old day, too hot to work, and too hot to do anything. What are we like !! Never satisfied ;-) ;-)

Yes, How did things go with the BBQ Mel. Whenever I use mine I always "BURN" off the grill, before I put meat on it. It shows how often I use mine. The gas bottle is 10 years old. !!

Did you get any sleep last night Jane with the party boys and (girls) no doubt.?? I bet they enjoyed the swimming pool. It's only on days like this that you can. The rest of the year it's just a big hole full of water. lol.

Jan's daughter Has a pool in their house, but have filled it in, never used it. It was there when they bought the house.

Oven is on, meat will go in about 5.30, pudding about 6.15, veg can go on about 6.30, so dinner about 7.00. No wine tonight, so it will be cold beers. for me, and a glass of water for Ros (SHE DOSEN'T DRINK)

see you later

We've had a few of those old Daddy Longlegs in the bedroom ,i hate them flying round they are attracted to the light and buzz round the bedside light as i'an trying to read !!
I get hubby out of bed to get rid of them , he squashed one on the ceiling the other night with his slipper !! LOL

Nooooo to cold in the pool yet , it needs a few days of heat to warm it up ,son sat Katie and Chelsea on the side and they dipped their toes in :-D :-D

Jane

Jane Report 14 Jul 2013 14:55

Frank ,I don't think we have had any midges (not that have bothered us so far).I think I was Ros I would be happy for you to sleep in the chair tonight :-D Sleepless muggy nights make everyone grumpy I think.I just have a sheet on top now.Chris kicks it off but I find I always sleep better if I just have something over me.

Phewy!!! it is certainly hotting up.I've come in after 5 minutes.I did take a couple of Cucumbers down to Fitz earlier as we have too many to eat.We sat for 20 minutes or so in the bit of his garden near the summerhouse .It is on a bit of raised ground and there was quite a pleasant gentle breeze there.

Mandy are you going to have a dip then?Or will the water still be a bit on the chilly side?
Fiona ,it must be a little cooler your way if OH was up for a bike ride..I bet he enjoyed that after not going for a while.I think I said before my BIL loves cycling but not sure he has been that much since having to look after little William.

Big William :-D,could you send me your pics on my iCloud email rather than the BT one as I have trouble replying.I doubt that you got the one I sent earlier re Pharaoh and the Cider Jug.

Had to laugh just now.One of the lads who was at the party next door last night is lying on the pavement waiting for a lift I think. There are still plenty of youngsters there .Heard a lot of clinking of bottles a while ago .Big clear up going on :-D Splashing in the pool now and no music.Probably a few hangovers :-S

Well I wonder how Mel BBQ has gone. All nice and tasty I bet !

Hi again, tis me, been posting even more photos by email.
Jane I didn't get an email from you and I didn't see your photos that others were on about? Would you check my address that you have in case it's incorrect.

You've heard me ranting on about cats in the garden before, how about this for a new one. I'd been up to my den to email out this mornings photos and was just about to go down stairs when I heard a very short low 'meow'. I looked down the stairs and there at the bottom was a tabby cat staring up at me! I said blooming heck (or similar!!!), what next! And the cat took off like a rocket. I checked all downstairs and out in the garden but it must have beat a very hasty retreat. What did it expect when it went 'meow'! CAT WOMAN :-D

Afternoon all,
Sunny here, but we do have more clouds around than yesterday.
Not a lot of folk at church this morning looks like all the young families are away now that schools are on holiday.

Just had my lunch of a ham & tomato roll, think I will go down and get a peach for afters, noticed one had got bashed yesterday in transit from the shop to home, better eat that one first.

OH out on his bike , good job it is fine weather as this is the first time he has gone out since he started laying foundations for the green house, we will be going round the garden today and throwing out all the rubbish and old bricks into the skip as it goes back tomorrow.

Afternoon everyone,

Cloudy here today and very muggy ,no sun so far , i was wide awake at six this morning ,i came down and made a cuppa ,nipped outside and turned the tap on so the pool could continue filling ,nearly there just a few inches to go .

William you are making a splendid job of the garden ornaments :-D surprising how just a little paint can bring them to life again !!
Hope you enjoy the beef dinner

Jane what a lovely photo from Hannah ,and a fantastic view behind her with the mountains :-D

When we have chicken on the BBQ i always bung it in the microwave for 15 minutes and give it a blast to get it going then it gets finished off on the BBQ ,i like to know it's cooked through properly as there's bones !! :-S :-D

We haven't had our BBQ out this year yet ,but i did buy some nice ribs in Tesco's the other day, they had the BBQ sauce already on and all you had to do was bung them in the oven ,the meat just fell of the bone .

Gosh nearly lunch time already ,where has the morning gone .

Morning all/ evening KIM.
,
Another hot one here too.

I sat in the garden reading till it got dark, watched a bit of tele. but couldn't settle. Went for a cool shower then to bed for a read.

All the windows open in the bedroom, with curtains drawn, but still the midges got in and pestered the life out of me. You should have seen me with a T shirt, waving it around and knocking them down then finishing them OFF.

Made me even hotter :-D :-D. When I finally settled down I kicked all the sheet and throw on the floor. When madam decided to come to bed. after 1.00 am. I was still awake and in a foul mood. She moaned that she tripped over the cloths and had no bedclothes on the bed. I said come to bed at a sensible time and you could sort YOURSELF OUT.

Needless to say I was still awake at 4.30 am, I've said if it's like that tonight I will stay up in the lounge and sleep in the armchair. THAT didn't go down too well.

I have tried to dig out the bush/scrub but it is impossible to get down to the roots. So I have cut it off at ground level and chopped all the branches small enough to go in the green bin.

Back into the shower again now, as I am sweating like a pig.. Not smelly I might add. !!
