I tend to open widows when the heat becomes oppressive.
The kittens and their Mother taken to going upstairs to explore or play.

If I lie on the bed to have a read or do the crossword both kittens jump up and beat the bejaysus out of each for 10 minutes then fall asleep.

I only complain if they stick their claws in me (just briefly)

Their Mothers surgical wound is clean and dry and she plays with them.

We are well into this month, soon be autumn.

I think YahEE are RRsing me about.

I had to change my e-mail address, new address and password confirmed by mobile phone. Then, when I went to use it ,it said error on page etc and I had to give them my mobile number agin. They rang back immediately with a number I had to key into the page and it told me to change my password, which I did,
It confirmed my actions etc.Now next time I went to sign in I had to go the same palaver again and change my password again. Not happy.

Can any of you recommend a secure free mail address provider?

Sounds like we could have had a good old natter in the night then Frank :-D.Hopefully we will both have a better night tonight.
Have replied to you .You are a lovely man <3

James arrived and was starving .Good job I had cooked the Beef and done the mash.I used my new Potato Ricer for the first time.(I'm impressed). So he has wolfed everything down and is now going to catch up with his friends he should have been seeing this morning.I feel happier now knowing Hannah is with friends.James lugged her cases up to her bedroom and said it is a lovely room and a really nice house.Gareth (Caroline's OH ) was busy cooking Chilli con Carne.I think they were getting ready to get some food into Hannah lol

Well it seems to be getting hotter here.(phew).I have the FAN ON.
Mel I never have a problem with TV blaring.Chris never watches it.Just occasionally if something takes his fancy...Then it is usually something I don't want to see :-S.
Just going to have a quick flick with the duster before Janice and Larry get here. Not that they would give two hoots to see my dusty house :-D.This last week cleaning has gone to the back of the line lol

Fiona I hope the extra 10mg helps with your poor head. Must be misery to have that all the time.

All full up now after our big breakfast which will keep us going for the rest of the day. Been sunny all morning so after washing my hair etc I put the towels in for a boil wash hoping to get them dry. They are just on their last spin and the clouds have come over!! :-0

Telly blaring out here too Frank. Oh has gone outside but left it on as he always does. I don't like it on all the time either and this morning was lovely and quiet while he was out.

Late on parade today, Afternoon all.

Had a terrible night hardly slept with indigestion and my knee. Up and down to the lo as well.

Ros bought me a cup of tea, but I dropped off again and when I woke it was stone cold and it was 9.45. Got up, went into the lounge to the Television blaring out some programme. I (being in a mood) said "Why can't you live without the Blood# thing on all the time" with that it went off, and we haven't spoke since. She has gone out to some patchwork exhibition with Carol down the road.

Leg of lamb for tonight. Cauli, broch, carrots and peas, and fresh runner beans. I've made my Yorkshire, and cheese sauce. Roast Potato's and parsnips. Apple pie and custard or Strawberries and cream for afters. Bottle of red open and breathing on the table. JUST HOPE SHE's BACK IN TIME FOR DINNER. :-D :-D :-D

Thanks for your Email Jane, I have replied.

Maureen, I did see someone, but didn't know it was you lol lol.

Oh Fiona, you really do go through it still with your poor head., I hope the extra 10mg helps. Can the doctor give you anything different ?? that might help a bit more..

The sun keeps popping in and out here as well. When it's out it's nice and warm, almost warm enough to go and sit outside, But then the clouds come over and it looks like rain. We just can't win, can we. !!

Jane

Jane Report 18 Aug 2013 13:34

Fiona I will keep my fingers crossed too for Catherine and her interview. When is it?
I'm sure they won't think you are a druggie on the sly lol.But I'm sorry your poor head is still causing you trouble :-(

The sun keeps coming and going here and it is really very warm.Just popped my shorts on .I picked another load of beans just now.I think I will give Janice some when she comes to see us later. Also there is some of our lovely Garlic for her and some Teasles (can't spell that) :-S.I realised I had no cake or biscuits in ,so have just done a dash to our little Sainsb***.I can't give them coffee or tea with nothing to go with it can I.

I think I have taken over the tears from Hannah.I have hardly stopped since she went just after 10.I've been holding it all in since she came home on Wednesday.Even Chris has disappeared down the garden a few times and comes back looking a bit red eyed :-(.
I don't know what time James will get back ,so instead of doing a roast I have just cooked a joint of Beef and will do some Mash and Gravy ,Runners and Carrots.

My teeth are all aching .I think I have been clamping my jaws at night :-S.So tonight I might put the horrible guard thing in.
All the birds seemed to have had a mad time this morning .All chasing each other and feeding like mad.
I can't wait to see my sister but I know I will start blubbing again :-S :-S.I must get a grip .....Now there is an old saying !!

Morning All, Evening Kim

Gave church a miss, had to put my pills up another 10 mg last night as my head is not for calming down, went shopping yesterday, while OH went to B&Q for some electric stuff, he picked me up a couple of hours later and my head was going daft cause of the air conditioning in the shops, will phone pain nurse tomorrow so she can phone my surgery and tell them I' taking 60 mg now, they get panicky when they see my repeat prescription and my pills are different. :-S
Maybe they think I'm becoming a druggy taking to many pills on the sly

Been raining again quite a lot, and we have it windy

Katherine has another interview for a full time supervisor's job in Glasgow for one of the clothes shops, we are not getting excited, But I'm keeping my fingers crossed (behind my back) thatshe might be lucky this time

Morning/Evening All
Been up since 3.50 and now feel ready to go back to bed but can't do that as I need to shower wash my hair and then go to Tes**.No doubt I will have a snooze later on.

It is looking a lovely morning and seems to be a clear sky at the moment :-D.Fingers crossed it stays this way.

Just going to get my 3rd cup of tea !!!
Anyone doing anything exciting today?

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 17 Aug 2013 22:57

No I did'nt manage to get my 5th ringer. I went round there and the ponies were in the field but not a sign of a living person. It was like getting into fort knox to get to their house but I managed it. They must be away and someone must be coming to do the horses for them. The dog barked when I knocked on the door.

Anyway we rang four bells and it sounded ok. got paid and had to pay young Frankie for ringing so thats another £90 for the bell fund as we older ringers don't take the money just put it in the pot for the bells.

Sorry to hear about Kim's son. What a worry that must be for her on top of all her other troubles. Love to Kim if your looking in love. <3 <3

I can still manage to get in our loft but am finding it harder to negociate (sp?) the beams across the loft holding the roof together. They are just too tall for me to go over and not quite tall enough for me to go under comfortabley with m y knees as they are! :-S

Never heard that about a bottle of water keeping cats out. Thats a new one on me but great if it works. I wonder if it would work on rabbits?? Might give it a go if I come across a see through two litre bottle. Shall have to buy some lemonade to go with my new Pi**'s blackcurrant and elderflower.

Hav'nt put the camera out tonight but did last night. Got a good shot of two hogs with one pushing the other right out the way. Will send it whn I have some time.

Off now so hope I can get on here in the morning as I have been having trouble with the blimmin Error Page all week except one day when I got on straight away.

Night night.

We are all off to bed now. Difficult day.James is taking Hannah back to the flat in the morning to get enough clothes etc for a week and then driving her to St Albans where she will be staying with Caroline and her partner .Not Polly as I thought. It is just all so sad and we think John is a bl**dy fool.I'm going to nip to Tes** as soon as it opens to get Hannah some food for packed lunches at work and some ready meals.
She can stay with Caroline as long as she needs ,until she finds somewhere.
It is all such a horrible mess really.
Anyway I will see you all tomorrow .Night Night x

Poor James...He didn't think he would be spending tomorrow doing that with Hannah. She didn't want me or Chris to take her as it would be too emotional :-(

Right, I'm off to watch The Beach now.

Annx Report 17 Aug 2013 20:54

No rain here yet, but very windy and cooler. Frank I was a 'youngster' in my 40s when I went on the garage roof, but I had been on the house roof before that to pass roof tiles up to my first OH. I was always a 'TOMBOY' you know!! :-) No chance now I'm much 'bigger' and not fit ....... I would struggle to even get up the loft ladder now. :-S I do miss being able to do things, but am very thankful for what I can do.Yes Jane, I stay on terra firma now.

I decided doing my FH this afternoon was more interesting than doing the curtains!! No surprise there!! lol.

Oh my, the old newspapers have some interesting and shocking things! A couple of years ago I went to Staffordshire and found the headstone of 2 of my paternal grandmothers younger sisters who were buried together. It confirmed for me that they had never married which was fairly unusual for the late 1800s. Today I discovered an article about one of them which may explain why. It described her at age 7 walking along the road on a Sunday afternoon, when a 60 year old local man had gone up to her and offered her a penny to go with him. He took her into a nearby closet , kissed, then assaulted the poor little soul!!!!! It said many of the details of the case were unfit for publication, so it must have been a very serious assault. A neighbour had later found the poor mite crying where he had left her. She was probably scarred for life, poor thing and now I can see a reason why she and probably also her younger sister may not have wanted anything to do with marriage!!! She would have been the little grandaughter of the rellie in the photo I have just found.

Mandy, that sounds a very big place to walk around. You must have walked miles this last week!!! I bet you are glad to put your feet up now. :-)

Good news on the PC David and even better you didn't have to dig into your pocket to buy it and it plays dvds as well. :-)

What bad news for Kim and her son. It must be such a worry for them.

Hi all, Very wet and windy here. The trees/bushes in the garden are bent double. Not a nice evening to be out anywhere, which we won't be doing.

No Take-a-way tonight, neither of us fancy it. So will have something light later.

Glad the weather didn't spoil your day Mandy. I bet the children slept well last night, I bet you did too.

Maureen I waved to you, but YOU didn't wave back. Are you trying to ignore me <3 <3

I know I haven't meet you yet Ann, but I am sure you shouldn't be climbing on roofs, It's not done by YOUNG LADIES ;-) ;-)

Any news yet Jane, At least Hannah has somewhere to stay, with friends, till she gets sorted out. IF IT COMES TO THAT. You never know, there might be a change of minds :-S :-S :-S

I'm still in shorts, but am thinking of putting on some trousers , my legs are feeling chilly.

Glad you are fitted up with a newer PC David, as I know you were having trouble with the old one.

Mel, how did the ringing go. Were you short handed in the end ???

Evening all,

Been quite a nice day here,we had a few spots of rain as we sat out at lunch time but it didn't amount to much .

Yesterday was a wet day ,well drizzle really but we still went off to the Zoo,it wasn't to bad we had brolly's and by lunch time it cleared and we had some nice sun, my goodness what a lot of walking we did ,the Zoo is set in 100 acres and by the time we got home we were well and truly tired out !!

Ann, you must be so pleased seeing a photo of your gt gt grandad for the first time ,it really does give you a funny feeling seeing them stare out at you like that some thing i bet you thought you would never see ,i'am so pleased for you :-D

Jane

Jane Report 17 Aug 2013 14:28

David this ERROR thing has been going on now for (I reckon) 12months,and it is infuriating .I think we all get it.,and I don't know why it hasn't been able to be sorted by GR after all this time.I see you didn't have to wait long for your PPI payout :-D.Ours was with Barcla** too and they paid up really quickly. We have sent off 2 more claim forms for other PPI s.I wonder what we will get from them !.Done very well so far :-D
It just shows how much money these Banks etc have been paid by people who should never have paid it in the first place. It bothers me a bit as there must be certain groups of people who are maybe unaware or unable to claim by themselves and will be missing out on what is due to them.

Eek Ann ! I can't imagine you climbing on roofs !!!!!.That was brave of you.I'm glad you are staying on solid ground now :-D.I do remember a few years ago Gina our next door neighbour up on the roof of the bungalow scraping off all he moss !!.I couldn't bare to watch her.But she was so agile and nibble she looked a natural up there lol

Geting a bit dark here now, but still just little spots of rain

Annx

Annx Report 17 Aug 2013 13:45

Hope you have your hard hat on Maureen. It was climbing on my garage roof to do repairs that decided me I was getting too old for that milarky and to move house to here!! I shouted down to OH who was mowing my lawn and said let's go and have a look at those bungalows again and now here we are. lol :-D That sounds a good tip there for the cats.......well worth a try......thank you!! I keep telling OH I want to go to a boot sale as there are some good ones not far away, but just can't seem to either get to sleep or get up early enough to go.

Yes, I have hiccups Mel!! :-) I get the error page every time I post anything now, but it has always posted ok when I look. That pie sounds very nice.....yum! Did you get your 5th ringer? I suppose it wouldn't be possible for one person to ring 2 bells!!!

William, thanks for that, I have set the film to record as it sounds interesting. :-)

Well, I'd better stir myself now, food first, then a look at those curtains. :-S

Jane

Jane Report 17 Aug 2013 13:37

Bah Humbug to the football :-S :-S Me no likey.Frank you will be a happy bunny for the next however many weeks it goes on :-D

What a shame for Kim's son. That is going to be a real worry for her,as if she doesn't already have enough on her plate.Hopefully with all the new science meds etc it can be manageable .

Well it looks like it blowing up a bit of a storm here.Strong wind and rain not too far off.Washing in the tumble drier.I was not going to risk hanging it out. It's all very quiet here.Hannah and James still out,and Chris has gone for a nap.
I think Hannah and John are going to be having a talk this afternoon sometime and I can tell that Hannah is getting herself all worked up about it.I feel a rather stressful evening is in store here.
As Maureen just said going back to the flat tomorrow is going to be tough, although I think she will be staying with her friend Polly and her Hubby.

Is Mandy still at the Zoo??? Hope she hasn't been caged up lol

I've got a Celeriac which needs something doing with so am going to make a Remoulade this afternoon.I just need to finely cut it up and then mix in Mayonnaise,Lemon Juice and a bit of Dijon Mustard.I think that is all that's needed. Then that will be nice to have with cold meats.

Janice and Larry might pop in tomorrow late afternoon if they have time .They are going to see Larry's daughter Catrin (from first marriage) and her little boy. They live near Mildenhall .I think that is where Ian Huntley murdered Jessica and her friend(can't think of the little girl's name).

Hannah has just arrived so will go now.
