Thanks for the tip

David Report 18 Aug 2013 20:19

I'd take a photo of them Maureen and put it on the thread so you could all see them.I suspect you'd perhaps be fighting over them.

With the time I was hopitalised in the RVI Ellen's done a lot of shuffling of stuff around. And with my just recenly changing my PC I cannot find the Lexmark 9c 1300 installation disc to load it on to this PC.

It's within these 4 walls, like a lot of other things.
It's where you left it is her stock answer.

Ann,hearsay rumour and gossip is usually nasty enough but to have it all detailed in court about a child.....that's horrible..... a waking nightmare.

It was a shock Ann, he was 76 but he was quite fit and healthy , hubby thought that his brother was going to say that it was his sister who had passed away( the one who had the stroke ) as she is now in a nursing home ,she doesn't know anyone any more and sleeps most of the time .
So that will be three brothers he's lost and a sister ,and that leaves hubby and his brother and two sisters ,hubby being the youngest of the family of eight .

No Maureen ,that was my sisters hubby who had the op on his knee.

Maureen Report 18 Aug 2013 19:17

Yes, very sad news Mandy, I can only imagine how your hubby must feel, I would be devastated if it were my brother. Was it the same one that had the operations earlier in the year.

Good luck to Catherine, Fiona, the more interviews she has the more likely she will be of finding a job. I'll keep my fingers crossed too.

Time will settle everything down Jane, I'm not surprised you've been having a good old cry since Hannah left, you did well to hold it in for so long.

Will we get some photos of those cute kittens David, on the other hand if I saw them I'd want them but I don't think Ellen will part with them now will she.

I think it is the last of the Mill Ann, must try and watch it tonight, I've missed a few episodes though, was on my way back from Kent last weekend and the weekend before that I was somewhere, can't remember now :-( and I like to watch Once Upon A Time at 8 and then see The Mill on 4+

Oh how sad Mandy, so sorry to hear your news. Your hubby must have been shocked at hearing that out of the blue. It was a good idea to sit on a quiet beach with your thoughts today, your hubby wouldn't have felt like doing much.

Well, I had a restless night last night thinking about the rellie I posted about last night that was attacked aged 7. You would never see information in a paper like that these days, giving a child's name, age and address!! Just imagine growing up with all the neighbours having read that about you in the paper. :-S It is amazing what detail was given about everything then though, a blow by blow account. I discovered one rellie had been fined at the Petty Sessions for not turning up for work on time!!! It gave his reasons and assurance it wouldn't happen again. Imagine nowadays if youngsters were fined for being late for work!!! Mind you, I can remember people who would lose some pay if the 'clocked in' late at a local factory, half a day's pay if they were more than half an hour late.

I have found some courgette seeds from S*ttons Seeds suitable for pots or containers ie smaller plants!! I shall try them next year. :-D

Is it the last the last in The Mill series tonight....or is there 1 more?

Evening all ,

Been another nice sunny day ,we took ourselves off to the beach this afternoon just to be quiet after hubby had some sad new that his brother died yesterday hardly anyone on the beach so we just sat and looked out to sea watching the boats and seagulls .

Apparently he was found on his bathroom floor ,they think he had slipped and hit his head on some thing ,he was taken to hospital where they found he had a bleed on the brain and he died later in the day ,they don't know how long he laid there ,he always goes to his holiday home at Mundsley on a saturday to see to the swimming pool and get the house ready for the holidaymakers going in but he never turned up and that was when they found him on the floor.

Afternoon All,

I don't have much experience of e-mail providers David, but I thought this looked quite informative and might be useful. It made me wonder whether another one might be better myself. :-)

http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/features/internet/3448241/whats-best-free-email-service/

No escape from those little kitties now then......they will follow you everywhere to play!! lol.

Mel, they were shoving each other out of the way weren't they!! I watched a recorded Wild Russia prog last night and there were the cutest little long eared hedghogs there. They are smaller and more fawn coloured with big ears. :-) It's good you were still able to ring yesterday, even minus one ringer!! I mentioned it to OH that it must be hard to do and said if weren't experienced it might sound a bit ropey. Well, that set him off chuckling away at me saying 'BELLRINGERS' and 'ROPEY' !!! lol :-)

FIL seems to be getting worse. He had (at last) got a walker when we went for the meal last week but we were surprised how slow and unsteady he seemed and he had to lift his feet into the car with his hand. OH was concerned about him managing at the match on Tuesday (he has a seat near the top of the stand) so we called in today to see how he was. He did seem much better, but they do make a lot of unecessary trips out. They'd jumped in a taxi last Wednesday to go and 'sort' out their tablets at the doctors.....no need as the surgery had already rung them and sorted it out over the phone, so it was a wasted journey anyway. Even the taxi driver told them they will have bought a taxi soon with all their trips!! We did manage to establish a few things they hadn't thought to mention, like the fact he had fallen out of bed recently and that he keeps getting a shaking in his wrist and hand!! Alarm bells were ringing with me, so we have tried to persuade them to mention these things to the doc next week when they go.......I doubt they will, MIL seemed to think it funny. :-S

I tend to open widows when the heat becomes oppressive.
The kittens and their Mother taken to going upstairs to explore or play.

If I lie on the bed to have a read or do the crossword both kittens jump up and beat the bejaysus out of each for 10 minutes then fall asleep.

I only complain if they stick their claws in me (just briefly)

Their Mothers surgical wound is clean and dry and she plays with them.

We are well into this month, soon be autumn.

I think YahEE are RRsing me about.

I had to change my e-mail address, new address and password confirmed by mobile phone. Then, when I went to use it ,it said error on page etc and I had to give them my mobile number agin. They rang back immediately with a number I had to key into the page and it told me to change my password, which I did,
It confirmed my actions etc.Now next time I went to sign in I had to go the same palaver again and change my password again. Not happy.

Can any of you recommend a secure free mail address provider?

Sounds like we could have had a good old natter in the night then Frank :-D.Hopefully we will both have a better night tonight.
Have replied to you .You are a lovely man <3

James arrived and was starving .Good job I had cooked the Beef and done the mash.I used my new Potato Ricer for the first time.(I'm impressed). So he has wolfed everything down and is now going to catch up with his friends he should have been seeing this morning.I feel happier now knowing Hannah is with friends.James lugged her cases up to her bedroom and said it is a lovely room and a really nice house.Gareth (Caroline's OH ) was busy cooking Chilli con Carne.I think they were getting ready to get some food into Hannah lol

Well it seems to be getting hotter here.(phew).I have the FAN ON.
Mel I never have a problem with TV blaring.Chris never watches it.Just occasionally if something takes his fancy...Then it is usually something I don't want to see :-S.
Just going to have a quick flick with the duster before Janice and Larry get here. Not that they would give two hoots to see my dusty house :-D.This last week cleaning has gone to the back of the line lol

All full up now after our big breakfast which will keep us going for the rest of the day. Been sunny all morning so after washing my hair etc I put the towels in for a boil wash hoping to get them dry. They are just on their last spin and the clouds have come over!! :-0

Telly blaring out here too Frank. Oh has gone outside but left it on as he always does. I don't like it on all the time either and this morning was lovely and quiet while he was out.

Frank Report 18 Aug 2013 14:09

Late on parade today, Afternoon all.

Had a terrible night hardly slept with indigestion and my knee. Up and down to the lo as well.

Ros bought me a cup of tea, but I dropped off again and when I woke it was stone cold and it was 9.45. Got up, went into the lounge to the Television blaring out some programme. I (being in a mood) said "Why can't you live without the Blood# thing on all the time" with that it went off, and we haven't spoke since. She has gone out to some patchwork exhibition with Carol down the road.

Leg of lamb for tonight. Cauli, broch, carrots and peas, and fresh runner beans. I've made my Yorkshire, and cheese sauce. Roast Potato's and parsnips. Apple pie and custard or Strawberries and cream for afters. Bottle of red open and breathing on the table. JUST HOPE SHE's BACK IN TIME FOR DINNER. :-D :-D :-D

Thanks for your Email Jane, I have replied.

Maureen, I did see someone, but didn't know it was you lol lol.

Oh Fiona, you really do go through it still with your poor head., I hope the extra 10mg helps. Can the doctor give you anything different ?? that might help a bit more..

The sun keeps popping in and out here as well. When it's out it's nice and warm, almost warm enough to go and sit outside, But then the clouds come over and it looks like rain. We just can't win, can we. !!

Jane

Jane Report 18 Aug 2013 13:34

Fiona I will keep my fingers crossed too for Catherine and her interview. When is it?
I'm sure they won't think you are a druggie on the sly lol.But I'm sorry your poor head is still causing you trouble :-(

The sun keeps coming and going here and it is really very warm.Just popped my shorts on .I picked another load of beans just now.I think I will give Janice some when she comes to see us later. Also there is some of our lovely Garlic for her and some Teasles (can't spell that) :-S.I realised I had no cake or biscuits in ,so have just done a dash to our little Sainsb***.I can't give them coffee or tea with nothing to go with it can I.

I think I have taken over the tears from Hannah.I have hardly stopped since she went just after 10.I've been holding it all in since she came home on Wednesday.Even Chris has disappeared down the garden a few times and comes back looking a bit red eyed :-(.
I don't know what time James will get back ,so instead of doing a roast I have just cooked a joint of Beef and will do some Mash and Gravy ,Runners and Carrots.

My teeth are all aching .I think I have been clamping my jaws at night :-S.So tonight I might put the horrible guard thing in.
All the birds seemed to have had a mad time this morning .All chasing each other and feeding like mad.
I can't wait to see my sister but I know I will start blubbing again :-S :-S.I must get a grip .....Now there is an old saying !!

Morning All, Evening Kim

Gave church a miss, had to put my pills up another 10 mg last night as my head is not for calming down, went shopping yesterday, while OH went to B&Q for some electric stuff, he picked me up a couple of hours later and my head was going daft cause of the air conditioning in the shops, will phone pain nurse tomorrow so she can phone my surgery and tell them I' taking 60 mg now, they get panicky when they see my repeat prescription and my pills are different. :-S
Maybe they think I'm becoming a druggy taking to many pills on the sly

Been raining again quite a lot, and we have it windy

Katherine has another interview for a full time supervisor's job in Glasgow for one of the clothes shops, we are not getting excited, But I'm keeping my fingers crossed (behind my back) thatshe might be lucky this time

Morning/Evening All
Been up since 3.50 and now feel ready to go back to bed but can't do that as I need to shower wash my hair and then go to Tes**.No doubt I will have a snooze later on.

It is looking a lovely morning and seems to be a clear sky at the moment :-D.Fingers crossed it stays this way.

Just going to get my 3rd cup of tea !!!
Anyone doing anything exciting today?

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 17 Aug 2013 22:57

No I did'nt manage to get my 5th ringer. I went round there and the ponies were in the field but not a sign of a living person. It was like getting into fort knox to get to their house but I managed it. They must be away and someone must be coming to do the horses for them. The dog barked when I knocked on the door.

Anyway we rang four bells and it sounded ok. got paid and had to pay young Frankie for ringing so thats another £90 for the bell fund as we older ringers don't take the money just put it in the pot for the bells.

Sorry to hear about Kim's son. What a worry that must be for her on top of all her other troubles. Love to Kim if your looking in love. <3 <3

I can still manage to get in our loft but am finding it harder to negociate (sp?) the beams across the loft holding the roof together. They are just too tall for me to go over and not quite tall enough for me to go under comfortabley with m y knees as they are! :-S

Never heard that about a bottle of water keeping cats out. Thats a new one on me but great if it works. I wonder if it would work on rabbits?? Might give it a go if I come across a see through two litre bottle. Shall have to buy some lemonade to go with my new Pi**'s blackcurrant and elderflower.

Hav'nt put the camera out tonight but did last night. Got a good shot of two hogs with one pushing the other right out the way. Will send it whn I have some time.

Off now so hope I can get on here in the morning as I have been having trouble with the blimmin Error Page all week except one day when I got on straight away.

Night night.

Jane Report 17 Aug 2013 21:21

We are all off to bed now. Difficult day.James is taking Hannah back to the flat in the morning to get enough clothes etc for a week and then driving her to St Albans where she will be staying with Caroline and her partner .Not Polly as I thought. It is just all so sad and we think John is a bl**dy fool.I'm going to nip to Tes** as soon as it opens to get Hannah some food for packed lunches at work and some ready meals.
She can stay with Caroline as long as she needs ,until she finds somewhere.
It is all such a horrible mess really.
Anyway I will see you all tomorrow .Night Night x

Poor James...He didn't think he would be spending tomorrow doing that with Hannah. She didn't want me or Chris to take her as it would be too emotional :-(
