I've never been to Spain either Ann. In fact I have never been out of England.
That's a generous offer of yours Ann but I'm too far from where you live, and I just might be more bother than I'm worth.
In this weather we have the benefit of 5 dorrmer windows in our roof. When the weather becomes oppressively warm we open 2 or 3 and the air cools quickly..
Since my injury we have had a flight of stairs built in so now the space above our living room and bedrooms is now to become used for storing all our clutter, Perhaps at some later stage shift the desk and computer up there.

Glad you enjoyed the film Ann.I can't bare to sit in the front row :-S,even the first half a dozen rows. How on earth have you managed to do all that today with this heat.Has it not been as hot there as it is here? The breeze is really gusty, and we had to put the Banana Parasol down as it was a whirling dervish ,and I can't shut the patio doors as the heat has made it expand !!!.
Yes Jess has finished Uni she had her Graduation on the 18th in Canterbury Cathedral(where James had his). She got a 2.1 She goes home this evening .I think her train is just after 9.
Fiona I can't believe you had rain today. If it did that here now I would go out and stand in it :-D :-D.It sounds a good idea visiting the animals. All children love that don't they.Little Matteo sounds a right bonny little chap :-D
Oven on here now :-S.I sound a right moaning minnie don't I .But I just find this heat far too much.James went to Megs house just now to see if she had eaten her food this morning before she came here. She hadn't so he's brought her bowl full back here. She still hasn't touched it.She has done 2 poos in the garden !!!!.Thanks Meg. I'm so glad I kept Chesters left over poo bags :-D Off to do a little collection :-S

Afternoon All,
Boy it's getting HOT now! I'm done in now after jetwashing the path up the garden and the little slabbed area by the shed plus the slabs between the boxes. It was moving all the stuff that has done me in. Then, just as I was level with the greenhouse there were flying ants everywhere! I still need to do the path at the side of the bungalow and across the front........another day! :-) OH has been painting the arbour and still is! We did manage to get that table together earlier, still just a bit wobbly as the screws won't tighten fully, and it is now set up on the patio. The parasol can be set up later today.
Thank you so much Maureen, it took me a long time time to gain confidence and believe in myself, but I do try to be more 'normal' than my dad was!! My mother said we were all 'accidents'. I was very insecure for ages, didn't think I deserved good things to happen. Counselling helped a lot as it challenged a lot of my thoughts and behaviour as did OH.
I was smiling at the thought of you meeting up with your ex while you are on your hols! I imagine it will be quite strange, but you have a lovely figure to show off !! ;-) I must have a google of where you are going......I must be the only person who has never been to Spain! Nice to hear Alfie still enjoys his home comforts!
Thank you too David.........I just wish Old Father Time hadn't changed me so much!! lol. Still, we have to be thankful for what we have. I worked with a lady over retirement age once who still looked very good. She was quite a scream and a giggle too and said when she looked in the mirror in the morning she thanked God for her pretty face!! Maybe that's where I went wrong.
You just keep moving around as often as you can.....each and every step will help. It's a pity you can't get out for a change of scene. Would a taxi, just for a ride to the coast and back be possible? I would take you if I was nearer, but you might do more mischief trying to get yourself into my car.....!!
Jane, doesn't it make you feel good when you get rid of some stuff and get a bit of space back in cupboards and drawers. :-) Well done on your wins you jammy thing! It's ages since we won anything! I meant to ask if Jess Has finished at Uni now?
Ruby, what lovely photos.....I do like those Mulberry trees and all those peaches!!!! Yum!! Do you get any nasty creepy crawlies where you are?
I felt just the same about that poor little boy Frank. He looked such a lovely little boy.....how could they treat him like that and force feed him salt......they are sick!!!! I meant to ask, has Ros ever used those roll up things to do jigsaws on and do they work ok if she has? I have an A*gos giftcard to use and was wondering whether to get one. :-)
Fiona, when OH put our greenhouse glass in I think there were a few 'BLUE' words. The clips to hold the glass were very strong and awkward to clip in. I remember he had sore thumbs and fingers the next day. I shouldn't imagine you making your OH bump his head went down very well:-S The garden centre sounds good with all the animals....we don't see pigs or donkeys at ours.
The film yesterday was superb.....I got the title wrong....it was 'Summer in February' and based on a true story about artists in Cornwall and 2 men falling for 1 girl. The 2 men in question were Dan Stevens (Downton) and the rather dishy Dominic Cooper. The only trouble was it was all sold out except for the front row which was a bit tricky to watch through varifocals with your head back!! It's a wonder we don't have cricked necks this morning. :-S The temperature was ok though and there was plenty of legroom in front!
I must nip to the supermarket and M*S for some bits and to take a top back now. OH has just appeared and trotted out his 'wish list'. He has a headache now and wants jelly sweets and sarnies bringing!!

I can hardly think because I'm so hot.The fans are working overtime without having much effect.Poor Meg is still stretched out with a little fan beside her lol. Chris has gone to have a nap ,and I almost dozed off here. But I don't like doing that as I know I wouldn't go off to sleep tonight. I'm dreading having to put the oven on later :-S :-S. Haven't heard from Mel since she went to Hartland !!
Frank how nice to be able to sit in the shade and pick the cherries :-D. That is a real shock for you just getting £63.What happened to the rest?????
I'm too hot tot type. Will pop back later :-D

What a bummer. You know I told you about the rebate I was expecting for over £340.00 well it turned up today £63.81. !!! I have sent them an informative Email ;-) ;-) so should get a reply fairly soon.
I have been reaching up under the Cherry tree and picking and eating the cherries that the birds haven't got at. Very nice they are too. Will have to get the big steps out and see if I can get some higher up. ROS WILL HOLD THE STEPS. if she lets me.
I have pulled up my Cauliflowers, the flower had bolted and were no good to eat. Just a waste of time planting them.
Jane after you mentioned the Cabbage Whites, I have been seeing so many in the garden while sitting our reading and listening to the TEST MATCH.. It seems there's a glut of them.!!!
Ros came back early from the stitchery do, as the room was so hot. She is sat in front of the big fan, cooling off, with a cold drink.
That's the way Nanny Fiona (or is it grandma) ?? take the children to the garden centre, it will keep them amused, it's a pity you haven't got our weather, is must be close to 30 degree, but with a nice cooling breeze.
Mandy. IT'S CALLED OLD AGE <3 <3 <3 <3

What lovely peaches you can buy Ruby ,ours always seem to be so hard and stuck to the stone or to ripe and squashy .
Thats good that your getting about a bit David ,keep exercising and you'll soon get the strength back in those muscles , Ellen must know what your like holding on to the car keys :-)
I can see a few ripe toms coming along now but the cucumbers seem to have slowed up ,runners are growing but still to small to pick.
Phew, i think i'll see if i can find a nice ice lolly in the freezer .

Where does the time go 1st of August already
Afternoon everyone.
Glad your able to get around a bit more David, I know what it's like so frustrating when you have been unable to move about even in your own house.
I/2 an hour left of peace before the grandchildren arrive, Victoria off to the hairdressers at 2 , raining off and on here but not cold , had hoped it would be fine so we could play outside, but I am thinking we could take a trip down to the garden centre, for a nose about and visit the pets corner, so Sofia can see the rabbits , pig, donkey and there's chickens , I think Matteo might even take a look if he is not napping that's him just gone 8 months at the weekend.
Health visitor came to weigh Matteo yesterday and he is 22lbs 7ozs :-0 what a big lad, :-D :-D
better go and get some lunch,

No,Ellen doesn't drive Frank, although she had lessons years ago. She sort of gave up on it.She won't accept any tuition from me.We know each other too well.Pity,I think half a dozen professional lessons plus as much tuition as she needs from me would get her through a driving test. The car's just sitting there, idle. If anything serious happened to me the car would be very useful to Ellen.I know if she sold it she would get ripped off.

Jane, I wasn't being nosey ;-) ;-) just curious. It's very kind of you and Chris to treat them to a holiday, out of your windfall. Any spare ,for one for ME :-D :-D :-D
Well I am about Bugger## now. Have done both lawn and trimmed all round the edges. The sweat is poring out of me now. Just had two cans of cold TANG~ with apple. Very refreshing, but certainly starts the sweat running. !!!
Into the shower again in a mo. then clean shorts, and get the lounger out, shade just starting to show under the cherry tree.

Be patient David. You will out and about before too long. Now you are moving about those muscles will start to strengthen :-D.Good for Ellen hanging onto the car keys !!.She obviously doesn't trust you ;-) ;-)
Frank,we have holes in some of the cabbages too.One frame seems clear though. I just picked some smashing carrots Yellow ones and the Orange ones.
James and Jess paid for the Lodge themselves. It was booked up ages ago so they had time to save a bit for that.As for Greece ,that is us paying for that.It was James who really pushed Chris to do the PPI claims so without him we wouldn't have had those two great payouts. So it is a kind of thank you gift. :-D
Well Meg is now flaked out on the lounge carpet after a mosey around the garden a few times. So I'm going to sneak upstairs and complete all the clearing out.I'm sweating just sitting here :-S

I'm getting around the bungalow folks.
Combination of walking frame and elbow crutches or on occasion walking sticks. My excercise is to and from the bathroom or the back bed room where my computer is.I keep myself to and and fro making cups of tea (Tetley, white no sugar) My L calf muscles have near wasted away, but I'm told they will come back with work.
I'd rather be out in the car at the sea side or countryside, just out of here;Ellen's got the keys and won't let me :(
I hope you all are dealing with whatever's ailing you
Sincere best wishes David

Morning Jane, and all/Evening Kim,
HOME ALONE. I have been and picked a nice "DAFFY" of runner beans, still loads coming on. A few peas are starting to appear , now that I have moved the potato leaves away from them. Courgettes everywhere, I must pick some and give them away. Anyone want a cucumber ??? I've picked one for Carolyn, and four more are ready. It's a pity Lewis isn't here, he would eat one like an APPLE he loves them.
Ros cut up the "nobbies" from the old loaf last night together with some stale rolls. Like a fool, I have spread them on the lawns for the birds, and I want to mow the lawns. !! So they had better get their ars# into gear to clear it because as soon as I am finished on here I will be doing them.
Cabbage whites are everywhere Jane, The cauli's and cabbages have got holes in the leaves like a colander !! little Bug##s are everywhere. Have only seen a few nice ones around this year. and very few bees. We had a lot of bumbles around the other week in the greenhouse, doing their jobs.
Ruby, please keep the photo's coming. The photo of my wife and I was taken two years or maybe three years ago, and out grand daughters wedding. Her daughter will be one this month. Where does the time go.
Jane, where on earth are James and Jess getting all this money from. Lodge break now a holiday to Greece. ??? There must be something I am doing wrong.
Did you see the news last night about that little boy who was starved to death.?? I know what I would do to those two BASTAR#S. I suppose they will be sentenced to 15 years max, and be out in 5/7 years. They should rot in a box room like that poor child did. I've said it before. LET ME RUN THIS COUNTRY FOR SIX MONTHS, and I bet you would see so many changes, and crime would be wiped out in a matter of weeks. MOVE OVER H.M. Government.
Now that's of my chest, I will relax and do my lawns.
I'LL BE BACK !!!

Morning everyone White Rabbit or whatever they say down there.
I got through to Ancestry and after a lot of questions correctly answered she gave me my user name and password. She was an American living in Dublin.
She gave me a tele no to solve my Yahoo problem, but I just ended up vexed.I started off with another Irish woman and was trandferred to a Chinese woman who made me repeat every thing at least 4 times without success then I transferred again so I had to start again. I just said sod it an hung up.Yahoo may be free but they make a fortune from the phone calls,in my opinion.

Morning/Evening All
Goodness Ruby they are what I call REAL peaches. Not like the small things we get here.I would love a punnet of those :-D Lovely photos and what a beautiful tree.I haven' t seen one like that before.
We have an explosion of Cabbage Whites now.I was just watching a little sparrow following one around the lawn and suddenly chomp.Butterfly in the beak and was taken off under a shrub.I think that is the first time I have seen a bird snatch a butterfly. I hope you got the rain you were hoping for Ruby and that your bug stuff does its work .
It is getting hot already.I have just fed the birds and topped up their water, and filled a couple of bowls of water ready for Meg .I shall go and bring her here about 10.30.Then she will be here until tonight .
Chris is going to attack the front hedge today. In this HEAT !!!..I think he is bonkers :-S
James finally booked the holiday for Greece. They are going to the Island called Milos for 7 nights and then 2 nights in Athens. :-D
I keep wondering how KIm is doing on her new Medication.Does anyone know?

Hello Everyone,
Horribly humid here today. Grandson and I spread some stuff on the front yard today which will help kill the bugs that lay their eggs in the ground. We have a few different kinds of June bugs which will soon demolish plants and trees, if they're not kept under control. The Japanese beetles are one. So now I'm waiting and hoping for rain because it needs to be watered in. It was forecast to be here by lunchtime, but hasn't arrived yet.
I'm going to send a few pics. later. A couple of the crape myrtle trees - I don't remember seeing them at home, and a couple of one of the local peach stands. Perhaps more of the butterflies. I have hundreds of them all over the flowers and butterfly bushes. The tiger swallowtail is the SC state butterfly. The state bird is the Carolina wren. The state dance - I dare not tell you, because the word has a totally different meaning at home!
I had a wonderful family and childhood. We were 7 kids - I was the 5th in line. Mum was brought up in the east end of London; dad was born in Wiltshire, and, apart from his years in the RAF, he never wanted to leave home. He was a very gentle man. Mum was a bit temperamental, and prone to throwing things, but she was a great mum and loved to cook. We used to have stuffed bullocks heart and loved it, also stuffed breast of lamb. Always plenty of veg from the garden.
You're just a tiny bit older than I am Frank. I was born in 1939, so I remember the blackouts. we would have to cover the windows with old Army blankets.
What a good looking bunch you all are. Avatars are splendid.
David, I don't think I've got your e-mail address. You're still quite young.! I say my prayers every day too, and try to find the time to read my bible a little bit. It's really very interesting - hard to understand though. We have Sunday school classes for all ages here, for an hour before church, and that is when we study the bible. We are all learning together.
I had an appointment at Cardiology yesterday morning. I go every 6 ms. and about once a year have to wear the heart monitor for 24 hours. It's not as aggravating as a BP monitor would be, but is a bit uncomfortable because of having to be 'wired up'.
William and Frank, your wives are beautiful. You are so lucky to have your mates. No matter how aggravating they can sometimes be (and I know those fellers can be awkward!), I would tell anyone who would listen, to cherish your pal with every ounce of your being. It's absolutely dreadful to lose them.
Must get on. Will sort the pics out after a while.
Ruby.

Evening all,
I must say I do feel better having a clear out of memories. Sorry to bend your ears.!!
Very humid dark evening here. Hardly a breath of air, and black clouds everywhere, it's more like 10.00 pm .than 7.45 pm.
Tomorrow is suppose to be 30 degrees and hotter in the south. What are you going to do in that Jane. Carry the fan around strapped to your body, with an extension lead
:-D :-D :-D :-D That I would love to see.
Sods law Will. one appointment offered at the same day as another. You will have to get yourself one of those Son# memory machines. Just speak into it. and you can play it back when you need too
Yes Maureen, I think it was the case of lay back and think of "ENGLAND" It was a mans life, and the woman did as she was told.. No child birth. I can just see us men trying to take over you Girls lives, I for one would be out the door :-) :-) and no doubt a lot of your OHs.
Load of rubbish on T.V tonight. so I will play on the computer for a while, then have an early night.
I must SKYPE Lewis now, as soon after 8.00 as I can. SEE YOU.
