Morning All, Evening Kim

Sunny here this morning ,bin just been emptied. just brought it back in .I will have to get OH to give it a wash out, Phew!!!!! what a stink, no point in me trying to clean it.
I can't reach the bottom of it, too tall (dustbin of course) he will need to give it a good scrub with an old sweeping brush & bleach.

no Coffee today with friends, so having my coffee and lunch at home then meeting Katherine at the corner of the street, and we will walk down together into town.

Nurse from the hospital phoned last night and ask how I was managing my head with this warm weather, told her I wear a sun hat and sit under the brolly in the garden , 1 of the problems I have is when it's really hot in the car, my head bothers me cos the sun comes through the glass, I have to sit in the back in the middle with sun shades stuck to the window to keep the sun out. also my head goes daft when I open the freezer as the intense cold hits the spot :-| :-| WOW!!!!!
So I am now taking 50 mg of medication, felt a bit more sleepy than normal but it always takes a few days to kick in.

Can someone post the method for the Normandy Pork please? I have saved the recipe and can I do it with a pork loin?

Frank .Jess's results are really good :-D.I gave her a big hug and said how well she did .I really don't know what to say about her family as I have only met Mum and Step Dad.But to me they all sound a bit (I don't know what ) but not the same as us .I think we are normal ...I'll say no more :-D

hAV'NT GOT TO COOK TONIGHT as oh went ringing and I have'nt been hungry. May have a couple of nice boiled eggs and buppy. OOOOOOOOO I wonder where that came from?????? I hav'nt heard that word, buppy , for a long while. :-D

I think I would like that Normandy pork. Can someone send me the recipe so I can print it. I assume you can reduce amounts, as there are only TWO of us. When I tried to print Mel's Minty mushrooms, I printed off 9 pages of the thread. Don't want to do that again

Is Jess's results good ?? or indifferent. I don't think the family should criticize her efforts. It almost makes her tell porkies and not let them see the results. Very bad of them. I always believe praise helps, even though it might not be want you want.

When Ros came back from shopping I was in my shorts preparing dinner. She noticed the plaster on my arm and said "WHAT'S THAT" When I told her she said oh bl###y hell, It won't matter to her anyway. I just feel a bit younger ;-) ;-) ;-) I have to go back in THREE WEEKS for another injection. I can see me sleeping in the lounge or the conservatory :-D :-D :-D

That was not good business Jane. He should have at least phoned to let you know he would be late. NO EXCUSE for bad manners.

Do hope Jess and James enjoy their meal out this evening, it might take their minds off other things..

There's a blackbird sitting on the top of the cherry tree singing his heart out, and there's another one way off somewhere replying to him. !!

Sky looks like it's clearing, I think tomorrow will be fine, but Thursday it will be showers and Friday more persistent rain AND THAT'S THE LONGEST DAY OF THE YEAR. Something to look forward too.

I went right off Nigel Havers when he walked out of I'm a Celebrity. Marianne Faithful should be interesting doesn't she have aristocrat relations. My most favourite WDYTYA was Boris Johnson and his grannie butter.

Was that a grass snake Mel or an Adder, I probably would have freaked too Mandy as I don't know the difference.

What a shame Jess's family can't be proud of her a 2/1 is a great achievement.

Exactly the same Mandy.I do the same amount though for 4 !Plus I add some little baby button mushrooms....It is scrummy isn't it :-D
I like ours with rice rather than New Potatoes.Also I think I probably put a bit more Dijon Mustard in just to give it little bit more of a bite.

The man was so apologetic for being late.He was only here for about 15 minutes.Told us what size burner we need for the size of the room(a small one).So all we need to do is decide what burner we want and what surround and hearth.

I used this one Jane from Woman and Home

50g (2oz) butter
1kg (2lb 4oz) shoulder of free-range ?British pork, cubed
200g (7oz) lardons or chunky streaky bacon, chopped
16 shallots, peeled and left whole
1 small onion, chopped
2 celery sticks, chopped
300ml (½pt) dry cider
300ml (½pt) chicken stock
6tbsp half-fat crème fraîche
2tbsp cornflour mixed with 2tbsp water
2tbsp Dijon mustard
2tbsp fresh tarragon leaves
you will need:
large, flameproof casserole dish

I halved the recipe though as it served six !!......is it like the recipe you use ? it was tasty !! :-D

Mandy have you got the Recipe for the `Normandy Pork? It is one of the nicest dishes I do.We just about licked the plates :-D
I think it is going to be M&* nice Burgers with a cheese melt thing for us 2 tonight and Chunky Oven chips by McC***,frozen peas,and green beans .I don't think this chap will be turning up now.I think it is pretty bad we didn't get a phone call to let us know.
If he should arrive I think I will say we will just make a new appointment.

The Normandy Pork was a hit , hubby said it's some thing i can do again he really enjoyed it ,and i did to . :-) in fact there is enough for another night ....will it be ok reheated ??

Really clouded over now i bet if i go out and water it will tip down !!

Ah Mel was it a young snake or adult? I think it was the year before last we had one that slept on a part paving slab in the garden.

Jess got her results today and she got a 2.1 in Anthropology which I think is great.But she was a bit upset at missing out on a !st.I think she is a bit concerned that her Mum ,Auntie and Grandma will be disappointed in her.They are a force I can tell you!!!!!

Well I have been waiting for the man to come and have a look at our fireplace(re .log burner) and he hasn't arrived :-S....between 4 and 5 we were told.I dearen't start cooking or anything yet just in case he does turn up.

The other night there was a programme on T.V. where the presenter was holding a grass snake as it was shedding it's skin, He had never seen that before either. It will be nice if it returns, as you will your own little mouse collector. Do you know how often they need to eat ??

Sods Law. I decided to mow the back lawn. I got two box's of cutting off it, so it needed a trim. I then watered all the front garden and the pots and tubs, and then the Patio and back garden. I had just put the hose away, and it tipped down with rain. It's now a steady drizzle, so will do some good if it continues.

Maureen, These are the friends who have places in America Tenerife and Hastings. I don't know why they keep a house in the village, they are hardly ever here. ;-) ;-)

Decided a Liver and Onions tonight.

Ros Is making some blackberry and apple jam and I think she has bought two big trays of strawberry's so no doubt that will be turned into jam. I bet most of it will be given away, as I rarely eat Jams.

I have only seen Maureen's latest post, so will look at previous page, to see if there is anything for me to comment on.

Have had e.mails from both Kim and Shirl. so all is well, I think Kim is having problems with her computer.

Hard to know what to say Jane to your son to keep him hopeful, it was just the same with mine and my grandson, he will just have to keep plugging away I guess, something will turn up but I don't suppose it feels like it at the moment. has he thought about looking in London.

When are you off on your hols, is it Venice you and Chris are going. I don't know when Ann is back Frank. Have a good time in Majorca Pat, my daughter is out there at the moment, celebrating their 1st wedding anniversary. I'm really envious of your friends Frank, I'd drop everything if someone said do you want to go to Tenerife, it's my favourite holiday place.

Well now I've finished ironing for today I must get out in the garden, still haven't put plants in I bought at the boot sale nearly 3 weeks ago, had some giant sun flowers still in their pots and they blew over in the wind, wretched slugs/snails have chewed the tops right off :-|

When I was up the tunnel this morning I decided to straighten out some ground under a sheet of polythene so the water would run down better. I pulled the sheet back up the tunnel and a lovely grass snake was all curled up under it. It made a hasty retreat down the edge of the tunnel. Did what I wanted to do and put the sheet back and hope it comes back as I hav't had a mouse problem in there this year. I have found a shed skin in there before but have never seen the actual snake before. It's colours were so bright it must have just shed a skin.

Well I am back from Drs. No damage to the back of my right hand, just bruised. Had my injection, have to go back in three weeks for another.

I did enjoy the Pasta last night, loads of onions, mushrooms and chopped up bacon, two pots of mascaponi different type and shell pasta. Very filling.

Can't decide what to do for tonight. Might do a casserole of some kind, with Mash and veg. Will have to see what's in freezer.

I have smoked Salmon for lunch today, Ros bought it yesterday, so I had better eat it.

Muggy here this morning when the sun breaks through i think it will be hot !!!

David you must be counting down the days till you get that contraption off your poor leg, not to long to go .

What a morning ,went to Te*co's and i noticed they were working on traffic lights near Te*co's and there was quite a bit of traffic coming out of the car park , well by the time i came out it had really built up !! half an hour just to get off the car park !! so once i got to the roundabout i came home on the by pass instead of coming through the town .

Right i'am going to have a go at this Normandy Pork !!

I need to go back to collect the rest OH prescription at the chemist they didn't have all his pills yesterday,

OH off to Munich today , leaving about four for Edinburgh, back tomorrow late,
better go and iron him some shirts
