David, Little ELLA calls me fatty Frank. Saucy little monkey. I have a mole on my left side, and the thinks my nipples are moles. She said her MUMMY has large MOLES (nipples) too much information, but that's what you get from a five year old. Don't worry too much about your weight and shape, that will improve as you do. !!!.
I bet you girls are more comfortable today with the cooler weather and a breeze. I am sitting in the conservatory with the doors open, with a nice breeze blowing through. Absolute heaven !!
At 12.45 Jan said I will just pop up and get ready, then we can be off. An HOUR AND A QUARTER later she came down saying to Ros are you ready :-| :-| :-|. Cheeky bugg##. Ella wanted to stay here with me, she's been like my shadow since I arrived. I think it's nice for her to have a father figure in her life. (or should I say Grand-father)
Never heard of Black Christmas trees, I know one would never be allowed in my house. Who thinks of these things ???
Mandy, you always find that every man and his DOG go out early when you do, likewise if you went later, they would too. You can't win. :-D :-D You can bet that as soon as August is here, out come the Christmas decorations. I don't think they should be allowed till the 1st week in December.. You can get feed up seeing them all the time.
I was going to ask my neighbour to water the greenhouse, but as I was locking up to come up here, she called over the fence to say they were going to St Ives today and asked me to water all her plants, that she had lined up on her patio. I can reach over with my hose on the jet.. So she got in first. AGAIN. At least now I can have a good look for my nozzle. while they are away. :-D :-D I would hate for them to find it. How would I explain that away.
Must explain. That Helicopter HOTEL, was an APRIL FOOLS DAY TRICK in 2009. Conrad told me last week. Still very cleaver.
I see Mel's coming out in sympathy with me, with her knee. Joking apart. I hope it doesn't give you too much pain, You never know when it's going to let you down, do you ???
Going to have a few zzzz to catch up on the sleerp I missed last night.

Afternoon everyone,Evening Kim,
Oh it's lovely and cool today, but still stuffy indoors we've even had a little fine drizzle ,i sat out and read the paper and it was lovely feeling it on your arms after all the heat we've had. Thought i would cook a chicken while it was cooler so i popped off to Te*co's early to buy one and i think the world and his wife had done the same thing !! so many people shopping early !!
I don't think i'd fancy a black christmas tree ,you can even buy upside down trees that you hang from the ceiling !! I think it was this week that i read a christmas shop had opened up already selling the christmas decorations !! how can you think of buying things for christmas in this heat !!
Hubby has been bitten on the leg ,he seems to think it was an old horsefly ,he has been painting a bungalow and was round near a hedge he said there were loads flying in and out this hedge, i suppose he was disturbing them so they got their own back !! :-S
Oh suns trying to peep through :-D

Just come down from the tunnel and a horsefly bit me. Had to come in and put TCP on it and now I stink of the stuff. I have taken an antihystamin too as I have a really nasty reaction to the. I shall probably fall asleep now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hav'nt been up the shop yet so I better get going.

Morning all/Evening Kim,
Very cloudy and breezy today, they say it will get warmer later. Mandy I see you are going to have about 17 degrees. so it will be more comfortable for you.
The girls are taking Ella who is 5 going on 16 with them, so I can have a quite few hours.
I didn't sleep well last night, I did drop off only to be woken by Ros. to say I wasn't breathing. :-D :-D :-D A few choice words was said by me $$^^&&& I then laid awake for ages, while she she put away the zzzzzzzz.
Looks like Hoggy was checking up on you Mel !! how lovely for him to come and sniff you out (are you sure you has a shower) <3 <3 <3 <3
Nice that you are keeping in touch Ruby, always nice to hear from you. I don't think it's common place to have A.C. in houses over here. In the Offices, restaurants etc they are fairly common place.
Morning Jane, Have you worked out how to wear your dress. I might be an IDEA to take it back and get a SMALLER ONE :-| :-| : But I don't suppose you thought of that !!!-|(THICKO) <3 <3 <3
Kerry Jan's youngest daughter is coming this evening to stay the night. I'll have three women in the house all to myself. ;-) ;-) Mark her partner is at a trade fair with his spice business, and is staying over. I don't think ikt will be a BBQ tonight, so possible a Chinese takeaway.
On Thursday Jan has to go to Stafford on business. She was expecting to take Ella with her (all pre-arranged) But up I popped and said "do you want us to come and look after her for the day" if we have nothing else on. another 100 miles for Ros to drive. !!
Enjoy your day, whatever you are doing. Will drop by later

Morning All and Evening Kim,
We have a breeze today with our wall to wall sunshine.
Have any of you seen that Lun Lun the panda has had TWO babies. They look so strange like two little furry sausages.
Knee is giving me what for this morning. It hurt last night before I went to bed.
Was watching a hegdehog in the garden last night and hearing it grunt and suddenly there were two there and I had'nt put the camera out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did so but hav'nt looked at what I got yet. Then A BIT LATER i WAS OUT LOOKING TO SEE IF THE FOOD HAD GONE FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BOX HEDGE (sorry) and saw Hogwart rummaging around looking for food and stood and watched and he walked straight towards me and stopped at my bare foot and sniffed my toes which made me move them as I did'nt want him to take a bit of newly washed toe. I felt his little wet nose on my little toe. It was lovely and cool. When I moved and spoke to him he shot off under the box hedge.

Ruby just read your post. My peas go green when they are cooked.
There were a lot of black Christmas trees here a year or two back when all the furniture was black too. I don't like them and always have a reall tree. We have one in a pot that has been indoors twice now. I love the smell of the real trees.
When I was young I used to lay under our trees so I could get all the smell.

It's been over 30 here today. Oh put a barometer outside in the shade!
Frank you have had a good afternoon watching Ella do tricks. How old is she?
Have the other fan down now out of the loft so now have two in the kitchen on the go.
Just been outside to have a ciggy and could see the hedgehog and it was grunting and I had'nt filled the water bowl up!! So I got the watering can and crept down and filled the bowl and there were two hogs down there. I was cross as I meant to put the camera out tonight and forgot. I have it there now but doubt I will get the two again tonight.
It has been a scorcher here today. Hav'nt done much housework but did go up the border and do some cutting down of things that had been burnt up in the sun. Watered the tunnel too and picked some more courgettes.
Going to jump in the shower now but must be careful as my knee is playing up again tonight. Did it a bit when up the garden this afternoon too.

Hello all,
I enjoy reading your posts every day. What a time you're having Jane with everyone teasing you about your dress? Have you thought about attaching some bicycle clips to the bottom of the dress to hold it to your legs, so that you don't trip over it ? :-D
William, you did a great job on the last - you are very imaginative. I like the little blue shoe with the strap across. What will you do when the garden is full of little people? They'll be wanting to come in the house.
I've started picking my crowder peas Mel. The pods have turned purple. I've frozen the first batch. They are brown when they're cooked.
Beautiful children Mandy. Being able to enjoy the pool will make wonderful memories for them.
I've enjoyed everyone's pictures very much. That trip to Peru for your daughter must be fantastic Jane. The one Peruvian lady is knitting isn't she? My mum used to stand and knit when she was talking to the neighbor over the hedge. I read where the Peruvians make their shoes out of recycled tyres.
I went to Hobby Lob+y the other day, after I'd had a steak lunch and free peach pie, and they have all their Christmas decs. up. Lots of beautiful things, but among the artificial trees were two black ones. I can't believe anyone would want a black Christmas tree. Several years ago, it was the IN thing to have black dresses for a wedding. I couldn't understand that either, but it didn't last long.
I feel for you all, not having A/C. Can you not buy the small window units? Years ago, before central Air became commonplace, most people had the window A/C's. They didn't cost much to run. Of course you may never need them again!
Hope you all have a good weekend. Rubyx

Well I am off to bed now.Frank it sounds like you have had a fun filled afternoon and evening .You should sleep like a log. David I'm not a fan (pardon the pun) of ceiling fans.I never think they send enough cool air out.I need one a bit nearer ground level. I just nipped out the back and it feels quite fresh. Then I came back in and it feels so stuffy :-S Fingers crossed we all have a reasonable nights sleep . Night Night all xx

Evening all,
The girls are watching the soaps, so I am in the conservatory with the doors open, with a cold beer.
Why don't you pull the dress up over your head JANE, and cut TWO HOLES in it for you to look out of.??? We can all call you MRS ALI then lol lol
We arrived here about 1.00 pm. ELLA was at the door waiting for her paddling pool. I had the job of blowing up THREE RINGS on the pool. My head was swimming by the time I finished. (No pun intended)
The flower Ros bought that you connected to the hose, danced about squirting water everywhere. to say the least that went down very well.
I have just had a break for half hour. Ella wanted me to read her a story while she dropped of to sleep. That took me back some years, when I did it for Lewis and my own two.
My son is 48 today. He was born at 11.00 am. on a bright summers day like today.
We had a nice BBQ in the garden, a slight breeze, which suited me well.
I am feeling very tired this evening, have been on my feet a lot today, so I won't be late to bed tonight.
Had a good laugh this afternoon. Ella has a trampoline, she jumped on it, bounced off into the paddling pool. Jan thought she could do it also, only when she landed in the pool she slipped and ended up under the water (Well her body) Talk about wet T shirt comp. She dashed off and changed. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Off to get another cold beer. See you in the morning.

It's very warm here. Have 2 dormer windows open which helps.
At night I lie on top of the bed in shorts.I've never sweat so much. Since the contraption came off that leg has become very itchy.
One of those ceiling fans to keep the air moving would be a good idea. Wonder how much they are?
Pleasant dreams to tou all.

Ann I can't tuck the dress in anything ..I'm commando today :-D Only at home you understand :-D I'm no seamstress lol so still think its wiser for me to get the hem done.I have trouble threading a needle these days :-S How nice to have your lunch in a lovely air conditioned place and as for sitting in your in laws lounge in this heat I think you deserve a medal :-D :-D.She does sound a right one .I suppose you have to bite your tongue sometimes.I would find that difficult lol
Fiona I don't like apple juice.I think maybe too much scrumpy in my youth put me off apple flavoured drinks. When it is really hot like now,my favourite drink is just a big glass of iced water lots of cubes in it. I wonder how will all cope next week if the temps go as high as they are predicting.Maybe 35 !!!!!!! :-0 :-0.I warned Hannah to make sure they really cool clothes on when they get back next week.Plus to get a Taxi back to their flat rather than tubes.I somehow think they will be too exhausted any way to do the underground.
Have we not heard from Maureen for a while????

That's good your tooth is all sorted now Mandy. Our dentist is upstairs and it's cool in his room, but the waiting room has no aircon. :-S
Frank, if your toms are in the ground and not growbags, what I do is lay empty plastic compost bags all over the ground around them leaving just enough room to water them. It helps stop the moisture evaporating. If I was nearer I would pop and water your stuff for you. :-)
Jane, we shorter folk always have these problems with the length of clothes. The hemming tape Mandy suggested sounds a good quick idea..........You could pin it all in place and iron it on with the pins still in so it couldn't move and then take the pins out after. Otherwise, if you trip on it, you'll have to tuck it in your knickers for now!! ;-)lol.
The place we went for the carvery has super efficient aircon now.........we had to gobble our dinner before it got cold and it was breezy too, flapping our newspapers about.........we weren't complaining though.....just a blessed relief from the heat. We had a stroll around the shops in Hinckley after and I was chuffed when I found a little wooden bird nestbox for £1.99 from one of the charity shops!! :-D It needs some TLC and a bit of paint, so I shall have to do a 'William' and give it new life!
We called at MIL's after and sat boiling in their lounge.....no doors or windows open. MIL seemed to have worked herself into a right tizzy about the little local grocery shop down the road overcharging her yesterday. She intends to 'wage war' (her very words) with them tomorrow. We asked if she had her receipt and she said they don't give them, but said in the next breath the neighbour that fetched them a couple of things once got one. :-S All the fuss she was making and it turned out to be only 30p!!! She does love to be 'right' though and it is the principle and not the money I'm sure. It's the sort of little shop that if you were stuck would probably deliver you your stuff being close by. Going in 'all guns blazing' isn't the way to cultivate their helpfulness though for what was probably a simple mistake. She could point out there was an error without going OTT, but she won't. :-S She'd also had a charity envelope through the door suggesting amounts to donate. Her comment on that was 'they are being greedy so they're getting NOTHING'. lol Then OH asked what she wanted for her birthday. I daren't look at him when she said she wanted a garden pot with a shrub in it. When FIL broke his back through osteoporosis last winter we suggested and they thought it a good idea to cut down on all the troughs and pots they have at the back of the house to save FIL bending and moving them. When we looked around the back today there are more than ever.......and none of them planted up!!
