Morning All and evening Kim..

I haven't read the threads but I have also had email from David as well Mel and am undecided whether to open it .I did confirm his email address in my list. I bet the flowers will look nice on your mums grave..

Drizzly here as well and windy..Are we going to get any sun.
I am away in Majorca on Tuesday for Week and have been told by someone who lives there it has only just started to warm up this week. This climate change is affecting us all.

Youngest son is still not answering my calls and texts..Will wait and see whether a fathers day card arrives for Alan..

Morning Cheeky B***** Frank and All and Evening Kim,

No rain here at the mo just a high wind in the trees. Cloudy skies and I miss our nice sunshiney wether.......................................

Oh has gone back to bed which is very unlike him. I have crept out to let him sleep as he is usually up about 5 am or half past.

Have any of you had an email from David with just a website address on it please? I hav'nt opened it yet so let me know.

Morning/Evening All
Dark again this morning, windy but no rain (yet). We really need some as the ground is so dry.
We were late waking this morning.Chris came in yesterday afternoon from a meeting and promptly fell asleep.I think this kind of slightly muggy weather makes everyone feel tired.

Ann when are you off? Maybe if OH can drive part way you could do the rest.I wonder how he sprained his foot but didn't feel it when it happened :-S.I know when I have done that the pain is immediately excruciating.I hope the weather improves for you.So far we haven't had luck weatherise going away have we lol

We are going to have a look at Wood Burners later just to get an idea of what is about
and the different kinds.I know what I fancy but not sure if Chris will.

Come on you sleepy heads. It's 10.00 am.

Evening Kim, The others are still in bed :-D :-D :-D

Dull grey morning here, very windy. They say we can expect gales of 50 MPH later today, so batten down the hatches. and get your wellingtons out. ( I typed WILLIES OUT) and had a laugh and changed it. Sorry girls. !!

Was in a lovely sleep last night, when all hell let loose. I GOT CRAMP IN BOTH CALFS. The bedclothes went everywhere, and I was trying to get off the bed, to get my weight on my legs .Ros had to help me into the bathroom, so I could get my weight on a cold floor. I finally got back to bed, but couldn't sleep. This morning I feel I have been trampled by a heard of Elephants. :-( :-( :-0 :-0

Had to laugh yesterday. (I know I shouldn't have.) Ros's friends husband has been waiting 6 months to get his hearing aid (what did you say) he wore it yesterday morning, and it started to whistle. (he hadn't got it in right) so took it out and put it on the coffee table. His new puppy heard the noise and grabbed it, he has chewed it up, so now ruined. He will have to go back and get a new one. :-( :-(

Well, when you are up and about, what are your plans for the day. Mine will be to sit and rest my legs. and give them small amounts of exercise

Frank Report 12 Jun 2013 21:59

Evening all,

My you have been busy chatting today. While I have been working my socks off !!

Ros bought a tray of lettuce yesterday. The dark one that you pick at when you need it. So I have managed to put them in my "PATCH" in between the potato's. I then cut both lawns, Ros did the edges. She then planted loads of plants in the front garden. It looks an absolute treat. She is completely Knackered this evening.
I then potted 50 Wallflower cuttings. Pulled the new shoots from the old plant, put them in rooting power, then into pots. I just hope they all take, that will save money come the Autumn

David keep going forward MATE. I know it's a long drag, but I also know you will make it. Thinking of you often. Keep popping in as and when you can, always nice to hear from you.

Jane or should I call you " BAILEY" the photographer. Can't think of his first name. That was a beautiful photo of the Woodpecker .

I see Mel is the font of knowledge as always, about the cows and the woodpeckers

Ann, I think you OH has the patients of JOB. I think I would have been less tolerant than him. I bet he's non to pleased that he has to rest his foot. How long will that be. ??

Our garden, may not be as big as some, but is the longest in our close, due to the position of our bungalow. On our left, we have the 6 ft fence that we put in when we moved in. Behind that is the gardens of three bungalows in the next road. Our neighbours garden is less than half the size of ours. I am pleased that both Ros and I love to see a nice garden. If I remember, I will take a photo of the front garden tomorrow.

We have had lots of rain and high winds this evening, the garden and new plants will be grateful for it.

I bet a lot of you early birds will be tucked up in bed by now. For those of us who are still up, sleep tight, and I will see you in the morning.

That's a lovely photo of the woodpecker Jane.

Ann, have you tried sucking the keys up with the thin hoover pipe bit ? or hubby said what about a hook or screw screwed into the end of a very thin piece of wood ?

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 12 Jun 2013 20:58

Ann hope you get a better nights sleep tonight. Will be thinking of you. Fancy you finding a box of stuff from the kitchen 5 years ago. Can't have wanted to use any of it Ann.

Been raining here most of the day just fine rain but wet!!!

Annx Report 12 Jun 2013 20:17

Mandy, you have reminded me that I still haven't put everything back in my kitchen and it was done 5 years ago now!! There is still a box full of tupperware type stuff in the porch cupboard! It is a good opportunity to have a clearout though and look at what can go. Things are moving along nicely........soon be getting paint on. ;-)

There was a bit of mooing from the cattle at first when they were exploring, but we haven't heard a peep out of them since! They seem to lie down in a bit of a circle to chew the cud with the calves in the middle!! That was interesting on the Dexter breed Mel. I'm glad they seem to be quite placid.

Oh David, you'd think they'd press gently at first wouldn't you. Well done with your physio though, crutches should be a bit easier. All you can do for now is work hard at it and be patient.......and know we are all willing you along the road to recovery!!
<3 <3 :-)

MIL had a cataract removed today and OH went to see her at home. He asked how it felt now and she started telling him every detail from leaving the house. He said it took quarter of an hour before she actually answered what he'd asked!

Well I'm off to bed now I think as I was awake till 3.00am this morning.......then that dog starts at 6.30am!

Annx

Annx Report 12 Jun 2013 19:48

That's a lovely pic of the woodpecker Jane......beak absolutely crammed full as you say!!!!

Glad you enjoyed the film, not sure I would enjoy it if it's that weepy! What did make me feel weepy this week was reading about that poor young pregnant woman that went into hospital to have her appendix out and they took out an ovary instead. By the time they realised the mistake it was too late to save her and her baby.

Your nephew must like financial pressures and be enjoying all the work a baby involves if another is on the way so quickly! If I were his girlfriend I think I would be tieing a knot in it!! I hope they can manage things between themselves without expecting more of your sister.

OH went to get his repeat blood test this morning and because he was awake most of the night in pain with his foot he asked to see a doctor explaining he was also seeing the nurse so the appointments wouldn't clash. The receptionist said to sit in the waiting room and wait for his name to come up to see a doctor which he did, but when it did it was the same time he was supposed to see the nurse!! Off he went anyway, then returned to his seat to wait to see the nurse. After someone else had been to see the nurse he asked the receptionist if he would be next as he had now missed his turn. The receptionist told him he would be next.......so he sat down and waited.......... not best pleased to watch 2 other people being called ahead of him! He went back to the receptionist again as by then he had been at the surgery for over an hour. Her attitude was 'did he want another appointment making and to come back!!' He told her 'no' and that none of the clashing of the appointments was his doing and how did she intend to proceed to resolve things! Off she went to tell the nurse to see him next and he was told to sit and wait again!! Luckily his name came up this time. He said after all that waiting, he was ready to barge in ahead of the next patient if it hadn't been him!! :-S He's been told he has sprained his ankle and to rest it and that it could be weeks before it is right again. I was surprised as there is no swelling or heat, but I'm not a doctor!! :-) I just hope he will be ok driving to Anglesey. I don't mind doing some of it, but the roads aren't as good as driving to Cornwall so I'd rather drive my car, but that's not ideal as I am still using the only set of keys to it at the moment!! :-(

The place we will be staying at is Aberffraw which is on the left coast and not the right as I had thought.

O David you wanted to get on the crutches rather than the frame. I remember you saying you would be able to get around better on crutches. I hope your recovery will come along quicker for you now as it has been a long while, as you say 4 months.

Does that mean you can't have the contraption off your leg yet?

Please pop in whenever you can as we all miss you especially the boys. <3

Jane

Jane Report 12 Jun 2013 18:04

Is the Contraption off then David?????Or are you still attached?
Ouch ,I bet you hit the roof when he pressed like that :-S.But crutches is a step forward (pardon the pun).Hopefully after another 3 weeks it will be less painful.

Mel has told me the Woodpecker in the pic is an Adult Parent feeding babies :-D :-D
Apparently the babies have a red bit on top of the head....I do have one like that so one of the babies is visiting :-D
Thanks Mel for the info :-D

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 12 Jun 2013 18:00

Jane I have emailed you. It is not a BABY woodpecker is is a female if it has no red on the back of her head. A male if it has a red patch on the back of his head and a BABY if it has a red top to it's head.

I attrnded the fracture clinic at thr RVI yesterday pm.
The put a lot of pressure with his thumb on my shin / tibia.
I responded with rage via pain.It is far from healed, but what a funny way to check.
I've to retunurn there in 3 weeks,by which time the injury will be 4 momths old.

I was at the physio at Freeman Hospital today.
I worked so hard I came away with a pair of elbow crutches.

Jane Report 12 Jun 2013 17:48

Fiona it is really nice to see you going out for lunch with your friends again after so long of not being able to :-D,and I bet they are happy to have their friend back again.

William I have 4 birthdays this month.Only one though has a present and that will be Baby William. The others just have a card.We have agreed between us all that presents are just for the children now otherwise it gets silly and expensive. The same goes for Christmas.

William is going to have a brother !!!!!!.Bit of a shock again but my nephews girlfriend is expecting in September.I think my Nephew needs to tie a knot in it :-|.I just hope and pray things work out ,because my Sister and her OH have enough on their plates.

I'm just wondering if I am getting more than one Baby Woodpecker on the coconut as I saw one that to my mind looks a bit different from the one in that photo.I will have to have a look in my bird book and see what differences there might be .

Hi Everyone.

Had a lovely lunch with my coffee friends, now I don't think I'll be needing a big dinner, perhaps maybe just a toasty later on.

weather has been warm but cloudy and was raining earlier on, we have the sun now but there is a lot of clouds around.

Thanks for the pic of the baby woodpecker Jane,

Jane

Jane Report 12 Jun 2013 16:56

I have sent you all a pic of the baby woodpecker. It has so much fat in it's beak lol
The wind is really picking up here now and big gusts too :-S.But it is still warm.

Well the film this morning was brilliant but a real weepy.Terence Stamp and Vanessa Redgrave. All the men around me were crying as well as the ladies.Lots of sniffing lol

Maureen I think Saturday is looking the best of the days for the next few.Wet tomorrow ??.I know it is so dark :-S.Not flaming June thats for sure.
I think I had better get my washing in as it is dry and I don't want to risk it getting wet if it rains.
