Ann thanks for the pics and the garden is looking lovely. I like the slate chippings and they look great against the new patio there at the side of the garden. The new patio is lovely and light. Is the fence paint Sage? Iuse that colour as it's my favourite. I paint my garden canes in it and the tunnel ones.
We had lunch at Rosemore. Steak pasties, roasted veg and new pots and cabbage. It was very nice, o and we had a cheese and onion pasty too. I had a third and oh had the rest.
Only bought a little candlearbra primula in yellowy orange as all ours are mostly dark pink and one light pink.
Jane I bet your happy now the new windows are finished and you are going to get a new handle for the french doors. When is the window cleaner due??
William thanks for the pic once again. It is grand that Carmel's toe is healing quickly. You are certainly a good nurse.
Mandy you sound like things are still going on. Have you now got the walls plastered. When is Colin going to put the tiles up?
I started writing this before Frankie was on and for got to post it. I am enjoying this program.

Oooh Frank......I shall tell on you about the washing and you'll be in the naughty corner again!!! :-P :-) :-D. lol. I seem to keep finding places for plants too, but the more plants the less room for weeds I say. :-)
Well, I got hold of the electrician and he told me I need to slide the middle out of the connector, but that it will only go one way (bet I tried the wrong way!) then said 'shall I come and do it for you?' He reckons he has a job a few miles from us tomorrow, (I doubt he has though) so is coming in the afternoon. He will be chatting for hours as he likes a good chinwag........he's semi retired now. He is very good natured and nothing is too much trouble so I don't mind, but I bet OH will clear off into the study doing his notes!! :-S He will not only connect it up but have the waterfall adjusted and running before he goes.
I've just had a shower and shave of any hairy bits ready for my trip to the physio tomorrow........as I'm not sure what I will have to strip off!! I will just need a quick shower in the morning and some loose clothing (not much IS loose these days so I'm wearing some loose jersey slacks and a baggy t shirt...... that should do.)
Glad you enjoyed your outing Mel, the trees and shrubs really are looking fresh and good right now, but I bet you are ready for a sit down!!
I think the bluetits next door have flown..........I waited ages this morning with my camera, but there was no sign of them!! :-S
We watched another episode of the Australia prog last night and really enjoyed it again. They were looking at the gold coast and Melbourne and Sydney this time. Things out there are on such a big scale!! They interviewed a couple in their 80s who ran a farm of 12,000 acres on some of the most fertile soil in the world!! Then they interviewed some Finks (Kim will know what they are!!) They are a gang of Hell's Angels.
OH is calling to watch something on tv so will see you all tomorrow. I think it said it would be cloudier tomorrow.

Evening all,
Thanks for the WEE photo will, lol It does look like someone scribbling over the sky.
What a smashing day it has been, but OMG that wind was enough to blow me of the sun lounger.
After Ros went out, I put out the whites wash, (the machine hadn't finished in time for her to do it.) SO I pegged in out how I wanted. !!!. It was all dry folded and put in the basket before she got home, so she couldn't moan anyway :-D :-D
I had to cover up the potato's in the bags, with more soil and compost. There are just signs of the others coming up in the "PLOT" so will have to do them soon.
Would you believe it, Ros has bought TWO more trays of plants. She said we need them for the half moon pots that hang on the shed. :-| :-| (MORE WATERING).
All shiny bright new windows now then Jane. You will have to make sure you keep them like it.!!
I have been putting that GEL stuff on the weeds that grow through from the neighbours. I don't know yet if it has worked. Will have a look in a couple of days.
Being bored being on my own this afternoon, I trimmed and cut the back lawn again, swept up two dustpans full of Wisteria blossom.
Hope you had a nice day at the coast Mandy. It must be nice to just pop off when the fancy takes you. When I was stationed in Norwich, one of the lads had a car and we use to pop down to Yarmouth at least twice a week in the evening. In the summer we would gain access to Holiday Parks, and join in the dancing and have a few beers.
We finally heard from Harvey last night. They got back in the early hours. The weather has been terrible., cold and wet most of the week. It brightened up the day they were leaving. I spoke to Lewis and he said the swimming pool was MINUS FIVE DEGREES. I said pull the other one. He said well is was very cold. and he only went in twice in the 10 days they were there. Poor little soldier <3 <3
Well it's HOLBY tonight. so I am down here out of the way.
I want to look at something on eBay, so will sign off.
Keep well all, see you tomorrow.

What a shame about your meal Frank you should have complained even if they were busy after all you paid your money so you should get some thing edible and not luke warm !! Send them an email saying you were not happy with your meal you never know you might get some free vouchers for another meal ,doesn't hurt to try .
Ann, the garden is looking lovely and so tidy not a thing out of place :-D i like the colour of the fence panels and the pots , they look nice against the coloured slate . Oh there 's plenty of dust Ann!! i closed one of the wall cupboard doors and there was a load of grit and bits that dropped down onto the work top from the back of the unit !! It keeps dropping down because there's a gap now the tiles have gone !! :-S :-S
Hubby has just dashed out ,one of his customers has water running through the ceiling and down the walls ,she had tried the plumber ,hubby rang the plumber but he's not replying !! i don't know what he can do as he knows nothing about pipes and water but i suppose he can at least turn the water off for her ,she's an elderly lady who lives on her own so he's gone off to see what he can do !!
Jane i'd like to see the windows .

That's great them getting the windows done so quickly Jane and very little mess too. It's good of them to hunt you out a matching white handle.
Oh yes, the patio is weedfree...........I hope it stays that way!! The old patio had plenty!! We aren't a weedfree zone though, plenty grow elsewhere and we get brambles from next door and the field, ivy from nextdoor too. Yours is a far bigger job with your big garden Jane so we have no excuse, especially now we have more shrubs than perennials!I OH enjoys hand weeding, but forgets to look under the edges of plants.........me I just get the hoe out!! I'll send a few more pics of the garden with the waterfall when the pump is sorted out......I think the electrician must be on his hols as I can't get hold of him.........oops his son just said he will be home in about an hour. :-)
I meant to ask........is your electric weeder good?

LOL Mandy.........you have a good reason for plenty of dust!! :-D Mixing plaster makes a lot of dust as well, but I expect that is being done outside. I do envy you your seaside opportunities! :-) What a good idea to have a day out on your anniversary........it will save cooking and having to move the dust around in your kitchen!! :-D
I managed to do mine and was about to do the floor when OH rang so had to leave it, jump into some other clothes and go to meet him. It was great sailing along the lanes with the top down in my shades and a nice gentle breeze around my neck, but I had to turn Mr Rieu down to go past some big, skittish horses so I didn't scare them!! Didn't want them climbing into the passenger seat with me!!
It was very quiet at the carvery today and afterwards OH went home and I decided to call at a garden centre near there. It was closed and a big notice on the gate to say they had retired and there would be an auction at the end of June. I think something must have happened as they were expanding with tearooms and put up a new buiding last year. The nice chap who owned it gave me a tour of his own garden there so I could see what one of my acers would look like after a few years. It was also where I took a pic of 'the girls' snoozing on the gravel.
Frank I never knew you were a 'competition fisherman'. Cod can be quite heavy I would think and be hard to reel in. What sort of weights did you catch? Yes, get your straw hat on today when you are outside. You don't want to wake from a snooze burnt to a cinder. :-S
William, that's very good that Carmel's toe is healing so quickly. It must have been quite sore to walk with at first so the sooner it heals the better. Good luck with tomorrow's appointment. You aren't the only ones visiting hospital tomorrow.........OH is dropping me off at LRI in the morning to see the physio as my side still isn't quite right.........mind you I struggle to think which bits of me are!! lol No doubt he will trot off to M*rrisons nearby and have a breakfast while I'm there........he doesn't know I'm making him a shopping list yet! :-D lol.

Windows all done now :-D :-D.He left at 3.I think for the number of windows plus door that were replaced a day and a half is really good going. The only one we haven't had changed is the French Door,as we had that done a few years ago.The only trouble with that one is it has a gold coloured handle and all the new ones are white. But the chap said he would get a white one to fit and come back and change it for us. There is just a light covering of gritty dust now to deal with.I've done the Kitchen tops and floor so it is clean to cook. The rest can be done over the next few days, then the curtains can go back up in the lounge.Chris will have to rescrew the poles back into place once they are up.So now all the back of the house is done :-D Next year will be the turn of the front of the house.
Have we heard from Kim since her Birthday? Did she manage to go out for the meal?
Good news on Carmel's toe then William :-D.Must be your nursing skills ;-)
Mandy I hope you have good weather at the coast tomorrow for your Anniversary. Thats 3 of us with Anniversaries in one week !..Plus Maureen's son getting married.
You behaving yourself Frank? left on your own today I see :-D
Thanks Ann for the pics :-D.You have ~NO WEEDS on your patio !!!!! Clean as a whistle. We just have so many here it's ridiculous :-S.I yanked a load out in the front earlier along side the fence that belongs to next door. They have neglected their side so badly we are getting the Ivy,Brambles and all kinds of weeds coming through on our side :-S
Hi everyone else.I'm going off to have a nice cold drink now .

Afternoon all, what a nice sunny day once again, bit windy here though - and I DO mean the weather :-D
Took Carmel to the podiatry clinic for noon today and they are extremely pleased with the healing progress her toe has made. The chiropodist said that for the time it's been done that it's healing remarkably well. Good news. We shall be at the George Eliot hospital tomorrow afternoon for a check up on mouth regarding the lichen planus. Boy, don't we have fun!!!
Heard from SinL via Facebook this morning on the day of his actual birthday. Early this morning he was sitting on the decking outside a relatives bungalow in the delightful seaside village of Rush, just North of Dublin, enjoying the morning sun and looking at the sea. Alright for some!
Emailed another photo of the sky from here at 5.30am this morning - and yes I did go back to bed and have another nap.
Ann, the garden etc in your photos look great. As always you are an ace with the camera.

Morning folks/evening Kim.
Yes wall to wall sunshine here too today.
Ros will be going out with Carolyn for a mooch round so I will have a day on my own. to do as I please,
Last night went totally different to what we thought. As it was a nice evening, I suggested we went for a drive, and find a restaurant for a nice meal. We only got as far as the M 1 junction and Ros decided a Harvester meal would be O,K. There is one just off Jcn 15. The salad bowl was perfect, but the main meal was CRA# Ros had a combo of scampi and prawns, and I had the F & C. The chips were lukewarm and the peas were dried up. It wasn't worth complaining as they were so busy, we were home within an hour and half.
Jane, I so remember as a child, sitting on the garden seat under the rose arch, poding peas on a Sunday morning, it was part of summer. Being able to go out all day with just a T shirt and shorts and know it would not rain, and if it did, we would either sit out in it to cool down or shelter under the trees.
Jane, I could never put up with that from Jess. One of my house rules were, if the boys weren't up by 9.00am Sunday, they never got breakfast. So they slept in till 11.00 or so. just to show me the didn't care. !!!
Well I can see you were all busy yesterday, and I hope you all enjoy your day today. Straw hat for me today, My bonce is getting a bit red. :-D :-D

Morning everyone,Evening Kim,
Not a cloud in the sky ,only the white vapor trails from the planes going over .
Jane ,sounds as if the window men are doing great getting the windows all done in two days, you'll soon be all straight again, and you've had good weather to get the curtains all washed too.
Hubby's home today getting more plastering done , he's doing round the window and over the back door today . Tomorrow we're off out for the day as it's our wedding anniversary ,we thought we would go to the coast and have a bit of lunch some where .
Yes on a day like this we would be off with our fishing nets to catch butter flies and a jam jar to put any fish you caught in , meat paste sandwiches and a bottle of squash , the sandwiches would be warm by the time you ate them !! We would just go off into the meadows picking the wild flowers never thinking about what might be hiding in the grass !! never gave it a thought about grass snakes and Adders!! :-S :-S
Ann, i have a little dust in the kitchen too !! :-S :-S :-D

Hi All,
'Oh what a beautiful morning' as the song goes! The window cleaner has just arrived so that is good as I want to go out a bit later. OH has gone to a meeting in Fleckney and we are hoping to rendezvous at the carvery if he gets done in time. We are both full of aches and pains from our efforts in the garden yesterday so it will be good to take it a bit easier today. Even though he was mostly in the shade painting the fence yesterday OH managed to get the back of his neck burnt with the sun. He won't like having a shirt and tie on today! I want to clean the kitchen before I go before the sun gets round the back.........I noticed all the dust in there yesterday!!
Jane your windows will soon be finished now and looking great. You brought a few memories back for me about picking stuff in my parent's garden. I used to like picking (and eating!) the peas. Then there were broad beans and runners to pick. I loved the furry insides of the broad bean pods. They never grew soft fruit but there were 2 massive cooking apple trees, an eater and victoria plum that would swarm with wasps when the fruit was ripe. No joke picking the plums then!
I took a nice pic of the field at the back this morning........it's only a field, but like Jane says it reminds me of playing in meadows as a little girl, often to catch grasshoppers or swish about with my butterfly net!!
I missed that prog Mel.......what a shame, I would have liked it. OH usually tells me about things like that as well......!!:-S I bet you will have a great day at Rosemoor, it will be beautiful with all the Rhodos and Azaleas.
Well I better get going on the kitchen now........ :-S

Morning/Evening All The man is here beavering away.He is just going to take out the back door and adjoining window.I am sneezing my head off already but think it is the Hayfever. I won't be staying downstairs while he is working ,so will maybe take myself down the garden and my Kindle.
This is the kind of weather I remember from my childhood. It was ALWAYS sunny in the summer :-D :-D...or so it seemed. As a little girl before we moved near the beach I would spend hours picking peas, beans,Raspberries Strawberries, Blackcurrants Goosegogs at the bottom of our garden. It always felt like a bit of an adventure down there amongst all the canes and greenery hidden away from the house.Well I assumed I was hidden but am sure Mum or Dad could see me (probably stuffing myself with lovely soft fruits ;-) ) For some reason I never remember Janice down there with me.She might have been too young. I would then sit on the back door step with a saucepan and the enamel colander shelling the peas......Oh Happy Days :-D :-D
Now I'm going to put a couple more curtains in the machine.BBL

William Kim is MeGirl on the thread and she is in Auatralia.
Have been in the garden like most of you today. Oh has been doing more hard weeding on the border and I had a little go in the tunnel. My cosmos are up and away in just a few days! I was so surprised to see them. Tied up some tom plants and watered the seed trays.
Oh is having back trouble! When he sits down he has a job to straighten up..
