There has been a lovely breeze blowing today so more comfortable :-D But I think a very high pollen count again .My nose is bunged and my face feels prickly :-S

All our roses are looking just beautiful .They suddenly seemed to have all bloomed, and the scent on the ones down the bottom of the garden is so strong :-D

Dinner tonight is Lamb Steaks wit ha honey roast parsnip and rosemary crust.baby new potatoes and our own petit pois and broad beans.I will eat the beans as they are small and tender. But I detest them when they are any bigger.I will pick some Mint to go in with the potatoes.

Chris said he had a patient today who burst into tears when she realised that he will be retiring in September !!!!......I told him at least he knows the one person will miss him :-D.He is doing extra hours this week as 2 other partners are off sick :-S

Are you feeling any better this evening Mel?I hope you are fit for your visitors(I forget when they arrive)and also that the weather stays good for you.

Kim I hope your visit to the Doc in Sydney is good tomorrow and you get those new meds to start :-D.I bet you are itching to get started. :-D

Yes Jane, this is Jim's eldest daughter and she wasn't due till August 2nd, just as well she didn't wait with a girl weighing in at 6lb 5oz now.
Yes a great shame Jim didn't live long enough to meet his two granddaughters. Still no name to report yet.

Been out in the garden re-decorating Dad's stone boot. Think I've had enough now, a bit cooler with a breeze, sleep tonight maybe.

oooh little Chicks Mel.Hopefully you will be able to see them soon :-D.Sorry you are feeling under par today.I reckon the weather has a lot to do with it.I see Ann has been 'off' too and I have had the odd day not feeling up to scratch.

How did it go then Frank? I suppose you will now have to wait for the xray results.

Hannah and John are not doing the Backpacking thing.I think after working so hard they felt they needed to have some comfort.I got some pics from her this afternoon of the hotel where they stayed last night, and it looks very nice.Later today which will be afternoon there they are having a tour of Lima and then I think they are moving on tomorrow.I don't think it is hot in Peru well not the parts they will be.In fact she said it can get quite chilly at night ,and I think once in the Mountainous bits it will be cooler.

Ah Fiona I bet you have had fun in the paddling pool blowing bubbles :-D :-D.

William ,more lovely pics from the garden. It's like a magical mystery tour :-D :-D
Congratulations on the latest addition to your family .Another little girl :-D.Is this the other daughter of Jim who passed away recently? How sad for the girls not to have their Dad now to see his Grandaughters :-(

I hope Maureen has had a great weekend away at her daughters in Bedford.

Ann I think you should make that pudding. It would be lovely to have in this hot weather :-D

I need to move a few things again tonight ready for the fire place to be completed tomorrow.I will have a Mantlepiece to display my cards :-D :-D

I must go and turn the oven on now so hopefully BBLater

Have posted more garden photos to you all. Hope you find them of interest.
Have only just got round to going through Frank's emails - some good ones there - love the Aunty Acid ones.

Jane, I forgot to say that was terrific that you got the bat (I've heard of bats in the belfry, but in the kitchen!!!) on vid on your mobile. When things like that happen I usually haven't got any kind of camera around. I was in the garden Sunday when I heard this loud constant sound. Just then an aircraft flew low over the houses in the direction of South Coventry (probably Cov airport) - could have been a Dakota - and of course no phone, no camera!!!

Carmel having a rest, I've come in to cool off.

Oh yes, granddaughter No 2 in Skegness - Ann-Marie - has had a baby girl. Don't know any details yet. The great grandchildren are piling up :-S

Oh yes, I had our regular junk call just after lunch, same Asian woman. My tale today why she couldn't speak to me was that I'd been arrested. She then asked if I was the current occupier so I told her no, I was the police!!! I'm now thinking up my next load of lies to tell her.

How nice to have some little chicks Mel.....please send a pic when she lets you see them!

I was definitely 'off the pace' for a few days until yesterday too. No energy like you say and indigestion. I thought it was all the pollen, then being in the sun too much, then the hayfever tablets I'd taken!! I felt I needed to eat a few extra things I fancied over the past 5 days, a couple of icecreams, a couple of puds and a big bar of choccie......weighed me this morning and 4 pounds gained in the last 5 days!!!! Yikes, it doesn't take much does it!!

Could you do some of the cleaning late in the evening when you can get a bit of cool breeze in the bungalow.....it saps your energy less then and you'll get more done.

One of the puds I had was a delicious lemon meringue sundae, so I'm going to make a low calorie version to try at home. I have some low calorie icecream so if I layer it with some broken meringue, broken, low calorie digestive biscuit and some lemon curd with a few drops of lemon juice added I think it will at least be similar and a nice treat. :-)

Frank we worried how hot it might be around the gardens, but there were only 3 and a mile drive in between to the last one (with the AIRCON full on to cool us off!!) I hope the consultation at the hospital goes well this afternoon and that they can do something for your poor knee. Fancy that slug turning up like that! I often wonder how they get where they do in the house.......maybe from the veg trimmings? At least he hadn't brought his friends with him!:-D

Sorry to hear about your uncle Jane, he sounded quite a character. I wonder how hot it is where Hannah is? I bet she is seeing some lovely sights already. :-)

I hope Hannah has a good time in Peru now she is there and feels better now the journey is over.

Well done Mel,

Still not showered, don't like the idea of putting shirt and trousers on before I have too.

Dishwasher didn't do a very good job yesterday. Ros emptied it this morning, and had to hand wash a lot of the stuff :-( :-(

She's there then, what's the plan for her holiday, backpacking ?? or hotel and coach trips ??? I'm sure she will have a great time.

Heard from Ruby, regarding Pearl Harbour. I sent her loads of photo's from when I was there, on my world trip., some shots were exactly the same, how strange was that. ;-) ;-)

Morning All an dEvening Kim,

Thanks for the pics William. Has'nt little Grace grown!! Love the one with her sitting in the box.

Well I had a terrible night.....first off I was hot and my feet felt funny. Then I must have dropped of and oh had a dream so woke me up and could I go back to sleep. Then I think I had indigestion and got up and walked the bedroom for a while. Back to bed and hot and then cold , covers on and covers off. You girls will know what I mean. Anyway I eventually rose at 10.30 am with no energy at all.

Two eggs at least chipping yesterday and this morning I can hear cheeping but she won't show me how many she has and there still may be some hatching. Will keep you posted. Oh is at this moment adapting one of the bantam house to accomadate them down the garden in the cool. They are only in a very small ark at the mo. The one I had Hogwart in in the winter.

Jane how nice to be picking peas already. Mine still never came to anything!! but I did spy one of my tny toms in the tunnel that is RIPE!!!!!!!!!!! Just the one and it is about the sixe of a small marble.

Now I have a question for you boys!!! In the program Wagon Train which was on the telly with Ward Bond as the head of the wagon train. I can't for the life of me think of the scouts name in real life. His first name was Robert ?????? It is really annoying me. Second name could have started with a C but not sure.

Frank ,my Uncle was 84 .He was a larger than life Character and a very well known figure around Moffat.Outspoken and jolly but could often make inappropriate remarks (embarrassing at times)lol .

I had a message from Hannah at 5am to say they have arrived in Lima :-D

I have just picked more peas and some Broad Beans.Chris will be very happy with the beans :-D :-D.The sun has finally broken through :-D

Morning Will, and all/Evening Kim

Sun hasn't burnt off the clouds yet. But my it is warm All doors and windows open, and the fan is on. There is a nice cool breeze at the moment..

All I have on is a pair of u/pants and I am a sticky as hell. Will jump in the shower later.

I have to get dressed today as I'm at the hospital thin afternoon for X RAYS and consultation with the specialist about my knee.. I can't turn up in SHORTS and SANDALS.. I know a lot of people will be dressed like that. BUT NOT ME !!!

Glad Hannah has made it o.k for part of the journey, I am sure she will be fine, and enjoy her holiday.

Ann, I thought it would have been to hot to go walking round open gardens, but then again you were in the outdoors and any fresh air ;-) ;-)

Walked though the conservatory last night, and there was a massive SLUG on the rug. I blamed Ros for bringing it in, but she swore she didn't. I didn't think they could climb three steps and get in doors :-D :-D :-D

Ros tells me Andy Murray is on THIS MORNING, See what he has to say about the match..

Conrad rang last night. He wants us to go up to his on Tuesday. Instead of going out, he is going to do a BBQ (sods law the weather will change) and we will end up at the INDIAN in Oakham.

Morning/Evening All

The mist is burning off now.It was very thick earlier.I got qite a shock when I looked out the window :-0
I have picked a nice bowl of Petit Pois and am just going to pick some more :-D

I had sad news first thing. My last surviving Uncle passed away in the early hours. He and my Aunty were on holiday in Kent staying with my Aunt's sister and Uncle David had a fall 2 weeks ago and had been in hospital in Maidstone since then. After a PM is done they will have to transfer him back to Moffat in Scotland .

Well no good sitting here.Off for more peas :-D

Annx Report 8 Jul 2013 10:28

Morning All, :-)

It's boiling already here but I got a good night's sleep last night after the noisy 'party' the night before.

I had the front door open at 10.00pm last night and decided to put everything back in the porch cupboard then while there was nice cool air wafting through the door. Then we sat outside watching the sky for ages.

OH isn't having his BP monitor fitted this morning after all! The nurse who was doing it is off sick now. He has to wait till the 22nd of this month!! That's the second cancellation and his doctor wanted to see him again in 2-3 weeks and have the results.......no chance.....he won't even have had it done by then now!! :-S You'd think they'd at least have someone else trained to do it wouldn't you. :-S It doesn't seem very well run there at all to me........doctors one side tending patients not knowing the problems of the admin side and the difficulties their patients have doing what they ask them to, and poor management and planning on the admin side!!!

Then I rang the local Adult Learning service as I haven't had any confirmation about the jewellery courses I booked on line for the Autumn 3 weeks ago. No-one answering again which was why I ended up booking them online after 5 tries by phone in the first place. Then I rang the school number where they are based......still no answer!! The trouble is the 20% discount period will soon be up and the listing shows there are only 2 places left on the main course!! G-r-r-r-r-!! Things are not going well here this morning!! I need some 'chill' pills. lol

I now have a pile of cardboard boxes in the lounge where the cupboard stuff was.......I'm trying to build the dimensions of the fish tank I might have with them to see if the one I fancy is a size that would look right. Gawd, I haven't even decided yet and OH is already talking 'names' for the fish!! I've tried telling him that they will mostly be the same kind and a lot may be very hard to tell apart. :-)

Morning all, on here before it gets too hot. Glad you all liked the photos. Some lady in the Bulkington church flower arrangers must be psychic as she put Andy Murrays photo first on the right when the tennis tableau was laid out!

Glad you all liked the garden photos and I'm sorry to disappoint but it wasn't a long and tedious job, I haven't spent that much time in our garden due to the weather and other things. I don't grow my own plants, in spite of my mini greenhouse being in one photo! I bought the plants at B*Q, a local shop and M*rrisons as needed. When I had the chance of a few good days I just set too and made the plants pots etc up. I like to get plants at different levels so there is always something to look at no matter where the eyes go. I also hate brick walls (at least ours) and fill them up with tiles, plaques and allsorts - I'll take some photos sometime to give you an idea. Some projects have suffered with the weather over the years, but you can't win them all. Some folks have donated tiles etc which makes it lovely.
The bench Carmel was sitting on belonged to one of our lovely old neighbours, Hilda, and when she was alive I used to pop round and do jobs for her and get her shopping as she couldn't get out of the house. When she passed away, her family asked if we would like the bench for our garden. I did it up, repainted it and carved her initials and DoD on the back. So when we are sitting on it we now feel we share our garden and our memories with her.

Right, off to enjoy the day. Hope you all do too.

PS - I don't think GR likes mornings, had do to do 'stepping stones' via Google to get here today. Also - do check out Google search page today and put your headphones or speakers on. What will they think up next!

Well dinner is over, and it turned out O.K. Dish washer on with everything in. I couldn't stand being tied to the kitchen sink tonight.

Was just about to have forty winks, when Harvey rang. He took Lewis fishing today. Lewis caught 6 fish to Harvey's 3. So one happy chappie. :-D :-D :-D

Just going off into the garden for another read. To hot in doors, even with the big fan working overtime, and all the doors and windows open.

Glad you had a nice day out Will. It will do Carmel good.

Ann,they have landed in Miami and now have 2 hours to wait for the next flight to Lima.(Just had a text). She will be fine..she will have to be.But I hope the scenery and Machu Pitchu (?sp) will just be so amazing that it will take away the anxiety thing.
I won't know until they are back...We wait and see.

And I am still waiting for dinner.... :-S..It's all looking good and smelling scrumptious
My tummy is rumbling :-D Just a few minutes now !!!!

Evening All,

I'm glad the little bat found it's way out again Jane! Well done Janice for attempting and finishing the walk!! :-D She did well!!

I can understand Hannah feeling like that. I remember when I first got married worrying about being away on holiday and that was in this country. It was similar as I had it in my head that I needed to be at home if anything 'happened'. It was all due to anxiety and the fact that I only went away a few times as a child I think. Thankfully I realised it wasn't that likely and am ok now. I might well have the jitters going to Peru though, but that would be more due to the flights and creepy crawlies there!! It is good she isn't letting it stop her do things and I'm sure she'll be fine with John with her. I must say I envy her the adventure and seeing Machu Pichu !!

Yes Murray won, but they both played some good tennis. It did look scorching for some of the spectators....I would have wanted the players' towels with the ice packs in around MY neck if I'd been there!! lol. We we both saying that we'd want the higher seats in the shade if we ever went to watch.

We did go to see the open gardens today.....there were just 3 where we went but they were all huge with ponds and veg as well as big lawns and flowers. There was a freshly killed mole in one of the borders, but the house had a catflap so it is quite likely that was the prime suspect.

Bowl of water Mandy? :-S I'd have thought you'd have your spa filled now and be frolicking in that making us all envious!! ;-)

I've just been out deadheading, but soon came in as I was boiling again in minutes. :-D :-D

There was an outdoor band and party at one of the big houses last night......it was quieter than it has been before but the thumping beat was still going on at 3.ooam and it was too hot to shut the windows. I could have joined Frank on the patio a bit later and we could have had a cyberchat!! lol.

Nice pics William......baby Grace is growing fast!!

OH has to have the 24hr BP monitor on at midday tomorrow, so we need to see how loud it is before we decide to see the Liberace film at the cinema.......folk might be startled by it going off!!!
