Hi folks,
In spite of still getting the better of our colds and coughs, the weather has put some juice in our batteries today. We went out to Bulkington Carnival day - that's the next village out, but still in our Borough. Four floats for a carnival, but even so it attracted loads of people and there was a fun fair and stalls in the park.
I'm sending some more photos, this time taken on my phone so if some are a bit fuzzy, please excuse them. Most were taken in the church where there was a lovely atmosphere, tea, cakes and sandwiches being eating by the ton. The photos I've taken are in the church, all of their flowers displays connected with summer. I thought they were super, hope you all do too.
You'll so see one of 'The Basket of Flowers', which stand but the main street. They actually have their own 'anthem' and it's played by the silver band and sung by their choir. If I get the words sometime, I'll post them.
There are also a couple of Baby Grace, so I'll divide the emails up.

After we left there we went on to Rugby for a drive, little bit of shopping and now were are both home, tired, sweaty and I need to wash my socks!!! Too much information?

Off to do the emails.

Frank ,the Bat must have sneaked in through the metal fly screen as James came back in.I can't think how else it could have as all the windows were shut. But at least it went out again.
I remember some years ago when my Mum was on her own after Dad died ,(in Plymouth ) and me living nearly 300 miles away. She rang me one night in a real panic as a Bat had got into her bedroom.......What could I do !!!!!!!!! I had to ring a neighbour of hers at some ungodly hour and get him to go over to Mums.I can't remember the outcome but just remember feeling so helpless when Mum was so upset :-S
Fitz has been up to see us with his tales of his 'little cruise' and trouser trouble lol.

Pat I am so pleased that things might be on the right road again with your son.Day by Day is a good idea.
Phew it is too hot and sticky now.I have come in to watch the mens finals. The big fan is whirling around behind me :-D...Someone has removed my lounger !!!!!!! ....Chris :-S.
Yes I hope Janice has completed her 'walk' for life '
Just heard the temp on centre court ..In the 40's :-0 :-0...........BBL

Morning all/Evening Kim,

Maureen that is so good news. !! Lets hope you can put it all behind you and get along as before.

I loved the little bat Jane, how the devil did it get in doors??? We see them circling the street light on warm evenings, I suppose that's where all the little flying insects get.

So glad you had a good day for your birthday, Jane. and good luck to Janice on her fund raising walk. She might be finished by now !!

I didn't get round to watering last night, will have to do it this evening without FAIL

I went to bed at 11.00 last night and was up again by 1.,30 am too hot to sleep, I sat on the patio for an hour, then sat and read my book till 4.30. I did manage to sleep till 7.00. Then dropped off again till 9.00. O.M.G. doesn't your brain work overtime in the small hours when you can't sleep. I covered to many things during my lifetime. from the Air raids, to walking down the street to go into the RAF. nursing my Dad and Ros's Mum and Dad. My children of course. I feel like a wet week now. so I'm off to my lounger and see if I can get a few zzzzz.

Last night,I prepared a shoulder of pork for dinner tonight. 4 cloves of garlic, tsp of Paprika, tsp of salt, 2 tbls of oil. All rubbed in the skin which I scored with a new Stanley blade. It's in the fridge, and will need half hour in a hot oven to start the crackling, then three and a half hours slow cooking. I'll do various veg and new pots with that. We will eat about 7.00 or 8.00 pm tonight.

Don't get BURNT>

Well Janice will have started by now then. I wonder how long it will take her? Not too long I hope in this heat.

Good luck Janice and I hope you raise a lot of money for that worthy cause. X <3

Just watered the tunnel and now I am all hot and sticky. Think I shall jump in the shower and then wash my hair as oh is out ringing I can take my time and enjoy it.

Morning/Evening All

Have just sent out a little film of a bat we had in the house last night !!!! James got it on his phone camera.

Hannah has now left Heathrow and is on her way .I will not have to worry about the anxiety thing as I am not able to help and I don't want to be thinking of how she is for the next couple of weeks or so.

Yes another scorcher today..BBQ for us this afternoon/evening.
Janice will be setting off on the Race for Life at 11 o clock. She is doing it in memory of little William's mummy Jo.

I need to go and get some fruit and ice cream, but must remember to take the cool bag and Ice Block with me otherwise the ice cream will have melted before I get home .
Mandy you just have a nice relaxing day on those loungers.I'm keeping mine in the lounge ready for Tennis lol

Morning everyone,Evening Kim,

Looks like its going to be a hot one, we decided to get the sun loungers out of the little shed ,by the time we had opened them out and put the cushions on we were both sweating like mad !! i'am now sitting in front of the fan !!

Oh i see William ,less weight to lift up to water the planters than with a watering can, your full of good ideas :-D

Ann, i hope the gardens have lots of trees so you can get some shade ,it's hot already out there :-)

Hi Pat nice to see you , how are things with the family now ,any better ?

I made a jug of coffee to go in the fridge so we can have a nice iced coffee later ,with a blob of ice cream it goes down a treat .

I bet Frank is out in the garden soaking up the rays :-D

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Another beautiful morning here today.

Jane hope you are feeling ok this morning after your wonderful day yesterday.

Hi to Pat, it's nice to hear from you.

Glad you had a good day Jane. We were sitting out till late as well.....glad of the cooler air!! :-) Your meal sounded very nice and I would have been testing my lounger in the lounge too! lol.

Fancy Fitz nearly losing his trouser pants!! lol. I've heard of 'flying by the seat of your pants' but not 'sailing by the seat of your pants'!! :-D :-D It made me wonder what OH packs when we go away, but he has assured me he takes more than 1 pair. ;-)

Kim, that is more good news.....I will keep everything crossed that the treatment will have some good effect for you. I hope Joel's thyroid problems are easy to sort out. It looks like Miranda has been behaving at work if they are making her permanent! lol. It's good she seems to have settled into it and that's less worry for you too.

Thanks for the lovely pics Fiona.....your little grandson has lovely grey eyes.

I hope your friend is recovering well Ruby.....I bet she's glad to have visitors with not being very mobile!

William, you must spend a lot of time working in your garden to have it looking like that. Those wall tiles are quite a novel idea!

We were out in my car with the roof down yesterday and today, but still had the aircon on to get the cool waft up our fronts. We ate at the garden centre in the village today and they had 2 big fans on as well as the doors wide open.

OH has managed to paint most of the main panels of the bottom fence today, some was in the shade so he was glad of that. I have advertised our old pond pump, 2 big plastic water reservoirs and the surplus slabs we've got. Might as well have them out of the way and get a few bob for them. We did some watering then, but the rest will be done in the morning.

We are hoping to go to some open gardens near here tomorrow, but they don't open till 11.00am..........we might be wilting by then!! :-S :-S

Mandy, the milk cartons are full of water. Although I have a watering can, the milk cartons are handy to water the planters, especially if they are higher up or smaller. I have about 6 on the go at a time before I recycle them. Leaving the water standing also keeps it a good temperature.

Jane Report 6 Jul 2013 23:04

Thanks Ruby and Pat .Yes I have had a lovely day.......Bit Squiffy now lol. We had the Tapas food just after 10 o'clock outside .It was so nice and cool .Chris and James came out with a Birthday Cake with candles (trying to sing Happy Birthday) .I wish I had got that on tape !!!!!!!! (not a good sound)

I am off to bed now .Hannah said she will ring me from Heathrow in the morning.I told her to take plenty of Rescue Remedy.
Night Night xx..........Chris is still sitting outside.

Oh that sounds yummy Jane, no wonder you don't want any thing to eat tonight after all that .
Poor Hannah it must be awful to get so anxious and upset like that ,hopefully John will be able to keep her calm , can she take any thing to help calm her down a little for the flight ?

Good for Janice having a go at the Race for Life ,i hope she raises lots of money ,i think it should be even hotter tomorrow though :-S :-S
