things I remember ----as a child having half a real egg for my tea --real egg not powder.
cod liver oil and orange juice given out in the school playground ---same spoon used for all class mates.
"caravan" dentist ---a van came to school and an awful man took my tooth out --no warning just got hold with pliars and out it came!
Later in high school smoking Abdullah cigarettes on the school bus ---can still remember the smell !! <3

Morning All, Evening Kim

Congratulations William & Carmel, on your New Great Granddaughter, Congratulations to the happy Parents and welcome to baby Olivia Hazel, a lovely name.

William , you think baby Olivia is big , my grandson Matteo was 8lb 12 oz, no 1 daughter felt like she was fit to burst, he is 6 months now and weighs in at 16lbs 5oz :-D a big boy. his daddy is 6ft 4 so Matteo is following in his footsteps as he is a long baby.

Congratulations Will, she sounds a bonny little thing. !!

Morning all/ Evening Kim,

Calm morning here, no breeze to speak of, It was wet earlier, but I think it will dry up.

Ann, I think you should go back to bed, and start again. Why on earth did the builders leave a gap like that, a bit of filler would have saved all these problems.

Going to get Ros to pop me into Tesc# so I can get a card for Monday. Have just started to order flowers, but forgot my password. Will have to wait for that to come through on eMail.

Ann. you're not the only one who wishes they could do a rewind. I could tell you a tale about today, a shopping trolley, a potato, a trolley token and two of Ald*'s staff. But why should I? I'll just let your mind mull it over and it shall be forever a mystery to all but Carmel and myself. But I would definitely rewind the incident if I could and would regain an extra half hour of my life. :-S

Sorry, no news on baby yet.

Night night all.

Evening All,

Frank OH just told me and he managed to miss it!! lol.

What a day..........do you ever wish you could rewind and start the day again? This morning I tipped over a pot of nail varnish on my bead mat and ruined it!! While I was tipping some tiny beads off it to see what could be done, the lot ended up on the floor.....it would be tiny beads and on a grey fleck carpet so I couldn't even see them!! Then we went to the city and I had to get my umbrella out of my car as we were going in OH's. To save time I plonked my car keys in a corner in the built in porch cupboard which I quite often do so they are out of sight. We did a few errands, got a small tin of fence paint to try, fibreglass to plug the hole in the pot we are using as a little pond and came home. I went in the cupboard to grab my keys and they flipped behind the flat frame that stands half an inch in from the side. Then I heard a clunk and couldn't feel them. I poked my head in the cupboard with a torch (floor to ceiling) and tried to look at the back of the frame and noticed that the chap who built it in hadn't continued the raised floor behind the side frame and my keys had fallen through underneath it to the porch floor 4 inches below!!! :-0 :-0. The false floor in the cupboard sits on top of the skirting board, so the hole is is only about 3/4 of an inch wide. Well, what a game trying to get them out!! I tied together some of my magnetic jewellery fasteners in the end and dangled them down through the hole and they did pick the keys up, but then they dropped off and I couldn't reach them again. I tried pieces of wire with a hook on but to no avail. OH said to get another set of keys, till I told him they'd be over £100!! The floor has a narrow plank at the front edge and we took the screws out of that to try and lift it out to get underneath, but it appears to be stuck down to the plinth board at the front as well as at the back so we couldn't pull it up. :-S :-S I'm a bit annoyed that the hole was left when it was fitted to be honest, at least if I'd known I'd have stuffed something in the hole myself, so although it was put in about 4 years ago I will ring the company tomorrow and see what they suggest, (hopefully to come and sort it). After all, they fitted it so should know best how to take it apart!!

We quite liked the fence colour (wild thyme), so went back to B*Q to get enough to do one side of the garden first to see if we still like it enough to do the rest!! If anyone is interested , the fence paint is on offer till next Monday, buy 2 get 1 free.

I hope it is dry for the wedding tomorrow Maureen and look forward to seeing a pic or 2. :-)

Kim, that little kitty sounds a bundle of fun! Will Miranda want you to keep it if she can't? I can just imagine your 2 walking off with their disapproving noses in the air!! lol.

The new Dy*son sounds good Frank. I like the idea of no cable as mine rubs along the edges of doorways and leaves black marks on the white paint.....another job to do rubbing them off!

Another gt grandchild about to arrive then William!! How exciting for you.

Back from shopping safe and sound and a lot of £'s lighter.

Frank I did buy two glass hanging things to put night lights in and three solar lights at £1 each in Mo**isons. My old ones have given up the ghost and at a £1 I thought that was'nt bad if they only last a year.

It has been a nice day here after all but has just clouded over so we may have more rain tonight. I don't mind if it rains at night and we have dry days. Oh has mowed the big lawn today while I was out and hopes to do the orchard tomorrow.

Hope the wedding goes off ok tomorrow Maureen and you have dry weather.

Pat no your not the only one with children probs. I think a lot of us on here do too. My oh has three and never hears from any of them at all.
