Managed to get dinner done and my Bum is still glued lol.I can see this tennis going on for hours yet :-S.I doubt I can stay up much longer.Need my beauty sleep :-D.
I was born at 5.15 am on 6th July 1954....I only knew the time I was born a few years ago when I had my original birth certificate :-D.Plus seeing I was called Helen .That was the strangest feeling knowing that I had been called something other than Jane even if it was only for a few weeks at the start of my life.Think Jane suits me better than Helen :-D :-D
Must get back to Murray.

Two sets to One, and the bugg##s are close the roof, so delayed another 20 minutes. The foreign guy is complaining about the light. After loosing 5 games on the trot. I think it's delaying tactics. Hope he looses !!! serve him right.

I have watered everywhere tonight. The tomato plants water trays were bone dry.
My little blackbird has been following me around, as I watered he popped up looking for anything that I disturbed. Bless.!!

I see I didn't get an invite to the Birthday girls celebration, at the Pheasant LOL LOL Hope you have a nice lunch, and that you don't doze off during the ladies final. I am sure you will have a glass or three of wine.

Poor old Fitz, Fancy not taking a change of trousers with him. Even if I am only going away overnight I take a spare pair. You never know when an accident might occur. I would bound to happen to me if I went without a change.

Back to tennis. See you later with good news I HOPE.

Jane Report 5 Jul 2013 19:13

LOL Mandy .I will hear all about Fitz's trouser trouble when I next see him.He also said on the postcard he was constipated !!!!!!..What is he like :-S
Not sure I can sit here for another 4 or 5 hours watching tennis.I will just have to keep nipping in and out.My Bum could get glued to the chair :-S.
I have been doing the tester paints on the wall today .....still don't know what to choose. They all look so similar.Plus I have no idea about colour schemes .I always think I choose right and then think mmmm maybe not...

Murray has just lost the first set !

Evening all,

Phew it's been a hot one today ,the fan has been going at full speed !!

Jane , poor Fitz , i thought you were going to say he had spilt some thing down the front of his trousers , i bet it was a piece of cotton he pulled on the seam , i shouldn't think it was very comfortable with all those safety pins !! :-S :-S bit to close for comfort i should think :-0 :-D
If the next game of tennis takes as long as the last one you'll be eating at midnight :-D

Thanks Ruby for the lovely photo's of your garden ,every where looks so green !!
The butterflies are very pretty .

William, i hope Carmel is a little better today <3 <3

Better get another drink, it's all we've been doing today which is what you should do with the heat ,but it's not so good in the night when you have to keep getting out of bed to go!!!

Jane Report 5 Jul 2013 17:25

Well this just won't do.This first Mens Semi Final is so exciting,I can't get anything done at all ...and then it will be Murray.Do you think the dinner will cook itself??.I have more washing that needs hanging out and it's still sitting in the machine

I think we have new feathered visitors.I thought they were big Thrushes but reckon the must be Fieldfare.
Mel I will send you pic and see what you say. They seemed to arrive last evening and have been around a lot today.

I booked our meal for tomorrow, but have booked really early Mid Day.I want to get home for Tennis lol.We better not have any breakfast in the morning !

I think I can type and watch tv so will carry on.I must tell you this
Had a Postcard from Fitz this morning. He said he only took one pair of trousers with him and when he was having dinner either the first or second night on board, they split all the way from the Crotch to the knee on one leg !!!!!!!!.He was helped by staff who gave him enough safety pins to hold things together. Then I think he managed to get a new pair in Santander. But he says it wasn't an easy job.Poor old Fitzy, how embarrassing for him .....but soooooo funny :-D :-D :-D.Wicked me ;-)

Just waiting for the second lot of washing to finish and get that on the line.

Have opened up the tunnel and let the air through, what there is of it.

Taken a couple of pics of my other irises. One on the border and Rose Queen in the pond.

Morning all/Evening Kim,

Nice to hear from you Will. even though it wasn't cheery news. Do hope Carmel shows signs of improvement, and that the MRI finds something that can be treated and bring her back to full health. It must be a worry for you. As Jane said, we are here if you want to get things of your chest.

Poor old Banty must be horrible sitting there day after day. Hope she produces after all this effort

Must tell you this. The Woman down the road who's husband has terminal Cancer. They were given the most beautiful LASSIE type dog (the small one) as company for David. He has taken to him so much. He has eaten his hearing aid, and now chewed his glass's. He also has taken to eating Egg shells, that she keeps and crushes for grit for her chickens. He's now started on David's cloths. :-D :-D :-D

What a "GAY DAY" Wall to wall sunshine with the odd white cloud. The lounger is in position, the Ebook all charged up, so I am ready to laze in the garden.

Ros isn't meeting Martine tomorrow, so has popped to Tesc# to get odds and sods

Poor Martine, Her Labrador had a massive lump grow on his head inside a week. She took it to the Vets, they took a section for biopsy and it's a brain tumour. She had him put down on Tuesday

Birds all feed and watered. They are getting through these SUET balls within a couple of hours. Even the Rooks, Jackdaws, and crows are trying to mussel in on them. If we see the big birds tying to get on them we go to the window, and they are off like a flash. One beak full from one of those and it's half gone . :-D :-D :-D

I received Ruby's photo's, those butterflies are lovely, and she keeps her garden so nice. So pleased she has stayed with us, and is joining in.

Lounger calling !!!!

Morning Everyone, Evening Kim
a sunny day here at the moment and a bit windy, must have been raining through the night as the cover on the outdoor table in wet, woke up to a very loud noise and it took several minuets to remember that OH has had a skip delivered this morning , as he is taking a weeks holiday next week so he can get on with building the green house, we had hoped that MIL would be up to visit but she is still waiting for a letter with the date of her operation. so hopefully she will come up some time in August when it's all over.

still in my night clothes so better get dressed and put the washing on the line.while it's still sunny and dry. not going up to Victoria's till after lunch, so I can get on with my own jobs, this morning.

William I am pleased youpopped in to tell us whats been going on. We were all worried. I hope Carmel gets better soon. Lets hope the MRI scan can tell something.
Good that her poor toe has healed ok, at least thats one good thing. Bless her, give her my regards please? <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

We had the Normandy Pork tonight and liked it but next time I shall do it with rice. We had new pots in loads of butter smashed up with it and peas as I only came in from the garden at 20 to 8. I shall certainly do it again and must get myself a tarragon plant.

Snakes is still in the tunnel, well it was when I went and watered. I touch the bumps under the poly and you can hear it slither along underneath. The best thing is I hav'nt had a mouse problem this year in there!! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Did a lot of denettleing this afternoon. We had a few in the back garden just past the ponds and loads round the apple trees in the orchard. Hav'nt done it all yet as oh told me it was 20 to 8 and did I know it was so late. It really brightened up this afternoon and it was nice to be outside.

Oh cleaned the filter out on my pond again. He put some stuff in the pond a few weeks ago to clear the blanket weed we got in there from buying new plants. It really worked but made it all break up and die and leave this sludgy stuff everywhere and made the water very dirty so you could'nt see the fish if they were down lower in the pond. The yellow lilly that did'nt flower last year has had so many flowers this year we have lost count. Done better than the one on the other side that flowered well last year!!

William .it's so good to hear from you.We have all been concerned about your absence .I am so sorry Carmel is suffering so much.It must be really hard for you knowing what to do and how to comfort her.Anytime you need to unload ,we are here. <3 <3.I bet you had fun playing with little Grace even if it was hard on your knees crawling about with her. :-D.I hope the trouble with her legs will not be a major problem for her.She is so young at the moment ,hopefully there will be some treatment to help her.

Just catching up with the programme 'Happy Families'

So sorry to hear Carmel hasn't been too good William. All these health problems are bound to wear her down and would affect anyone.

Frank I'd never thought of using radish tops to eat, but it seems they are more nutritious than the root........nearly 6x the vitamin C for a start, so I will try some in future. I don't fancy them in salad but stir frying looks like a good way to try them.

What a good saving on the curtains Jane!! :-D I notice that there are lots of bedding sales on at the moment too. We could do with new curtains and bedding in one of the bedrooms. Yes, no pollen problem in the cinema, but I was glad I took my cardi as it was a bit chilly. There were only 3 other people in there till the film was about to start, then 8 people trouped in with dustbins full of popcorn and sat......you've guessed it.....right smack in front of us!!! :-S A few had obvious disabilities, but it was the 3 young male carers that were the nuisance as they were texting, checking and flashing their white mobile screens in front of us all the way through the film!!! :-S The film itself was ok but a bit bang, crash wallop for me. We are hoping to see the Liberace film either tomorrow or Monday.........should be more interesting I think.

William Report 4 Jul 2013 19:30

Hi everyone and a Happy Fourth of July to anyone in America.
Sorry I haven't been on lately but things have been a bit stressful here. I did try once or twice early mornings but got the dreaded ERROR message and was too stressed to bother paging down.

Carmel hasn't been at all well these last days, her headaches have been driving her demented and it also affects her eyes. Her consultant has agreed for her to have another MRI scan so we are waiting on that. He has also suggested another similar procedure and consulting our GP (we spend a lot of time at our doctors!) he said to go for it. But as I write we have no idea when that will be but no doubt the scan will have to come first.

I hate writing all this, it's so depressing for you all when you should be hearing good things. But talking of depression, it's another thing that has affected Carmel. She keeps thinking of her late son Jimmy who died earlier this year. That then leads on to her thinking about her eldest son who passed away some 14 years ago. It all gets compounded when we read on Facebook that our youngest niece in Skegness (Olivia's Mummy) has just had her birthday and of course misses her Dad. So I've had to keep an extra special eye on Carmel and spend more time with her. There's not much else I can do.

The good news is that her toe has completely healed (apart from the scab dropping off) and she has been discharged from the clinic. That's probably been one of the easier things in her life lately.

I still photograph the skies when there is a good one so I'll send some of them out sometime, although you are all probably sick to death of them by now LOL. We haven't really been anywhere to send anything else and the weather hasn't been much help. We keep have to have bursts with the heating on - my big top coat keeps getting taken out of retirement and MUM, I've still got my vest on (and I make sure it's clean in case I have to go to hospital :-D )

I seem to have made to get all my planters done now so at least there is some colour in the garden. The weeds and other overgrown stuff, front and back, keep me going like a Forth Bridge job. I just can't seem to get on top of it.

A little break in things was when Baby Grace was here last week. Her Mum is a hairdresser and agreed to do Carmel's hair for her. Me, I got on the floor and played with Grace, she is absolutely delightful and so very good. There is a problem with her legs and I'm not sure if she will be able to walk properly and if so we think it will take some time. It doesn't bother her as such and she can crawl round the place faster than I can keep up with her. How come babies don't shin their knees?

I don't think I'll be able to catch up on all the posts I've missed but I'll start back tracking now. Hope the rest of you have all been OK.

By eck, tiss warm now. lass, I went from jeans to trunks then into shorts. Now very sticky. I see we could get up to 31 degrees on Monday.

Poor old Conrad, he comes home tomorrow for a week. He thought he was coming home to cool down. :-0 :-0 It's his birthday on Tuesday 44. I am taking the four of out to the Chinese in Kettering The one on Horse Market Jane. That doesn't mean I couldn't manage lunch on Saturday at the Pheasant. lol lol Haven't been there in nearly 40 years. :-D :-D :-D

Yes both Semi's were good, but so glad to see Lisicki get through. She play so well, and after being 1 set down and three love in the 2nd she came back well

I bet all you girls have been in your summer tops today.

Ros said it was nice and cool up the scout hut. She only realised how hot is was when she got home about 4.30 pm..

I ended up doing a wok of Mince with carrot and onion, with Jersey Royals, and Spring cabbage.

I closed the conservatory door earlier, now I will have to go and open it again.

Ann ,I think the cinema would be a perfect place to get away from all the pollen :-D I hope the film was good.
What an exciting match for the last Ladies Semi Finals.I am so glad Lisiski (sp) won.I was doing the edge of the seat thing again lol. Both ladies played brilliantly ,and it's a shame one had to lose.
We are going out for lunch on saturday to(The Pheasant).James will be coming too .Just a shame Hannah won't be here. But I want to go really early so I can get home to see the Wimbledon Finals.
I remember watching Wimbledon with Mum and Dad .The games then, now seem so slow ,but still very exciting when it came to the finals. How things have changed.I seem to say that a lot these days :-S...and I'm still a youngster (FRANK) :-P

What a lovely evening. The sky is blue and there is a gentle breeze :-D
