I think there will be more than hundreds of them Jane as they expect 10.000 gipsies and travellers from all over Europe. I'm sure some of them will arrive early to get the best positions. They ask the visitors (up to 50,000) not to come too early as well, but I bet some will.......I expect you'll keep tuned in to the motoring news on the way. Hope you have a nice time despite the cough, those are 2 nice places to visit. I bet James doesn't appreciate you passing it to him.
My bag ended up about 9 inches square........more decorative than practical!! lol. It's the sewing on of the beads that took most time Mel! The teacher has offered to sell our bags for us with some other things she is selling so I may do that as I could always make myself another. :-)
Frank I must have a google to see what your clematis is like.......what an ideal choice to train it up the old tree. We were ooohing and aaaahing with our aches this morning!!
We did a spell outside this morning too Mandy. I picked our first (and only) cue. The others are all going a yellow colour and not growing so it looks like I will have to buy another plant too. We have had to empty the little sunken pool where the newts are as OH decided he would prefer one that is raised up now!! We found a nice fibreglass bowl shaped pot at the garden centre and it was less than half price, so that decided it!! I can fibreglass over the hole in the bottom to make it waterproof and the slate chips will cover it when there's water in it. OH fished out about 8 newts and took them to the pond in the field in a bucket to rehome them. That's where he took the ones out of our bigger pond a couple of years ago.......we are thinking they probably came back!! lol.
Will be watching the Queens Horses prog a bit later, but must go and get some tea now as I'm starving........I hardly ever eat this late.
See you tomorrow..... :-) :-)

On The one show they have the vacum machine still in Jackson's shop somewhere. They were showing it all and the presenter said he vaguely remembers them in shops. We do don't we? :-D

Frank I'm sure I could squeeze you in :-D.But I might leave you there if you misbehaved lol
Mel it is Appleby in Westmorland.Where they have the Annual big Gypsy Horse sale. It is held traditionally on the first thursday in June ,so I am really hoping they won't start arriving until we have come home.It would upset me to see all the poor horses (hundreds of them ) little foals and ponies too.Plus I don't fancy getting involved in the Big Fat Gypsy Wedding lol . On Wednesday we are going to visit Richmond in the morning and Fountains Abbey in the afternoon . Lamb Steaks,Rustic Chips, peas, asparagus and sugarsnaps tonight. Then 3 nights no cooking :-D :-D
Maureen I hope the Wedding goes well and that the weather is kind on Thursday.I hope we will see some pics :-D
Fiona ,are you able to clip your tens onto your clothes or pop it in a pocket so you can walk around and keep it working for as long as you want?I did that when I had one for my knee.I do it helps you and soon the pain will ease up.
I'm really concerned about staying in this Hotel with my cough. It is going to be so annoying for other guests when I get a real fit of it,especially first thing in the morning.I will have to bury my face in the duvet or pillows.Trouble is it lasts for ages,so not sure about sitting for Breakfast at the moment.I might have to see if I can take it to my room....Oh the embarrassment :-S :-S
Mandy how is the Kitchen getting on today?? Any squabbles :-D.
Chris has just given James his garden duties for the next couple of days. The traps are not being set.Jess would have a dicky fit if something was caught. So it is just watering jobs I think . When we come home we will have to clear the patio of everything ready for the Windows to go in. I see an email from Ann has just arrived so will have a look at the latest creation :-D

Jane, If you have got that much room in the car. WHY DON'T YOU TAKE ME. I promise I will be good < ;-) ;-) ;-) Have a nice few days, and mind those horses !!
Yes the blooming wind has ruined the day. Couldn't go out in the garden if you wanted too. Seems to be getting cloudy, so we might get a drop of the wet stuff tonight.
Sandra, one of the women from the stitching party, had an invite to Buck House garden party. I think is was proposed by someone in the village, for all her hard work fund raising and applying for grants etc. for the new scout hut. She was the head scout there for many years, when they had an old Bulk container lorry as their base up the football club Anyway. She asked Ros to make her a necklace to go with her outfit. She went last Wednesday and had a fantastic time. She has just called to give Ros a most beautiful Clematis (HOLLY MOLLY) massive flowers, She bought it round while it's still in flower. Will have to find a space for that in the garden, so it came climb up the old blue tree, that I cut down last year. It will look great growing up through the dead branches.
Just going to start tea. Then I can relax again. LAZY OLD B##### I hear you say.

Is it raining down there MEL ??? lol
It could be so nice outside if it wasn't for this wind. I have just put the bins out. Black wheelie, two plastics and tins, one for cardboard and two big box's. All the box's have bricks on them to stop them blowing down the close !!
We are lucky, we don't have a problem with anything but the neighbours CATS. Yesterday I picked up half a bag a poo, which I deposited on her doorstep. Still in the bag. In future I think I will empty it out :-P :-P I have so much holly and netting around, it spoils the look of the front garden. HELP, any more suggestions. ??? I've used cayenne pepper, cat repellent spray, water gun. I think soon it will be a real one ;-) ;-) ;-)
Cues are now standing up and starting to grow, I have now tied them to the canes. Tomato's are going along leaps and bounds, WILL SOON BE PICKING THEM :-D :-D (I WISH)No sign of the peas yet. How long to they take to come through MEL ?? First signs of Spring Onions, beetroot and radish. Carrot and garlic only went in last week. I now have four bags, and four rows of potato's, so if they all produce, we won't go short.
Any bunnies yet Jane, Nothing like a good rabbit stew, or fried rabbit.
When I was first married, I happened to mention to my "NEW WIFE" that I fancied a rabbit pie. She went to the local butcher, who cut up this massive rabbit, which she cooked and put in a dish and covered with pastry. It was big enough to feed "DESPERATE DAN" especially as she didn't eat rabbit. But she did try !!
Hope the arm is a little easier today Fiona, have you tried putting it in a sling, and resting it that way ??
The Lilac tree is in full bloom, and smells lovely, as you go passed it down the steps to the lawn.
Time for a cuppa and cake. and even 40 winks, if Ros doesn't have the TV on too loud !!
Nice easy dinner/tea tonight. COLD leg of pork, sliced new potato's fried in butter, and corn on the cob. Potato's all boiled and cooling down. Meats in the fridge, ready to cut, and the corn won't take long to boil when we are ready. Will make a nice change from Hot meat and all the veg.

I don't know how we can have two days so different. Yesterday being so sunny and warm and today being so cloudy grey and the wind is now cold.
I think I should have stayed in bed today. We had quite a bright start and it looked promising for a time but now it is just getting darker and darker.
Seen a pheasent this morning and she had no chicks with her. I hope she has'nt lost them all as it was one that we have been feeding and the kestral keeps flying through the garden and all the birds disappear into the box hedge.
How's the bunny situation Jane?? If Chris sets that trap again put cabbage leaves in it. Mine don't eat carrots as I cleared out the rest of them in the tunnel to throw in the chicken run and left behind some roots that broke off on the path down the garden where we always see the rabbits. They have been there three days today untouched. when I used to set my trap I used cabbage leaves and they always caught one where they came under our top gate.

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Grey sky this morning and it's windy. Not nice .
Nothing planned for today will just take it as it comes I think.
Fiona I hope your arm is something that can be treated. There is nothing worse than pain whenever you move it.
Dermot we have an estimated bill always for the water meter or they want us to read the meter ourselves and it is always under water!!

Morning my lovelies, not you WILL, Hi Mate.!!
Nice sunny morning here, but the breeze is a bit chilly
I had an Email from Shirl. All is well, she is going to get the results from the Hospital tomorrow, and will let us know the outcome. I tried to COPY and PASTE, but it didn't happen. Will take more lessons from Lewis !!!.
Am I getting old or what. This morning I put the PACK OF BACON in the cupboard where we keep the saucepans. I think I am beginning to loose it :-D :-D The bacon that is !!!
I think it will be a quiet day for us today. Ros aches all over, from all the work yesterday. and I will be happy to do nothing.
I asked if she wanted to go out today, but she said every man and his dog will be on the road, so we might as well stay at home.
The JACKDAWS have been down on the fat/seed balls. Not only have they eaten it all, THEY HAVE TAKEN the hook and stick thing that it was packed around. Greedy little Bugg###
The clouds are building up here now, and the breeze has turned into a WIND
Out with my book, and into the conservatory, where it will be nice and warm. still in my shorts!!

Pouring down here this morning.
My arm is really giving me gip this morning, OH thinks it's a trapped nerve, there is no swelling. no bruising, in fact it's not my shoulder it's my arm just down from the shoulder. I have took two pain killers, it's not aching, its a sharp pain that comes and goes.
just going to have an easy day. coffee time.

Slowly but surely rural Britain is losing many of those little traits that make it special.
Time was when a chap called every couple of months to read the electric & gas meters. Now you can text your reading.
Remember the halcyon days when the local bobby arrived to inspect the dog licence. Of course there was awful hustle & bustle inside the house for that particular visit. Hiding the dog was one thing. Preventing the slobbering sod from barking inappropriately was an entirely different assignment.
But of all the callers to rural households, surely none compares to our good friend the Television Licence Inspector. His days are now numbered too.
And it’s all down to bungling bureaucracy. Some pen-pusher above in the Department will bombard you with so many reminders that the postman knows your front path from memory. In the end, a few brow-beaten residents have been known to purchase said licence even when there is no TV set in the house.
Nevertheless, I’m glad to be still alive. The alternative may be just as irksome.

Morning/Evening All
Looks like another great day.I haven't opened the curtains yet but the sun is shining right through them. My job this morning is to get a load of ironing done and get together some clothes and things for going away tomorrow morning . Then later I have to clear out all the Pansies from the pots in the front and plant my Geraniums and trailing Lobelia. It is a shame to get rid of the Pansies as they are still looking pretty but they have got all leggy and untidy .
What's everyone up to this Bank Holiday Monday?
