Oh Mel, What are we going to do with you. With all those butternuts you will have to put them on your table, if you only charge 50 p each it will be something towards the expense of buying the others
Have just been (well two hours) to put up the electric attachment to Ros's new Dyso#. It had to be screwed to the wall inside the porch cupboard. The only trouble was, it's on the wrong side for my good arm. I managed to drill and plug the wall, then I had to get the wire round the back of the fitting, so it didn't get trapped and then screw it to the wall. Then the mains wire extension lead from the plug in the kitchen, had to be attached to the skirting, and into the cupboard. You should have seen me on my hands and knees trying to knock in the clips, (fingers bruised and knocked) THEN I had to get up. With the aide of the letter box, I had both hands through it, I pulled myself up. Good job nobody was walking by, they would have wondered what was going on.
Now completely tattered, and going to sit in the garden. It's too good to miss.
Hope you all have been busy, and Mandy I hope your kitchen wall is finished. ;-) ;-)

JUST LOST MY BL**DY POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been up the tunnel watering. we have sunshine and blue sky with white clouds and not really any wind.
You know I bought 6 butternut plants in the garden center because I could'nt get one and I thought the seeds I had sown were too old to come up as they had'nt appeared. Well in the tunnel this morning there in the seed trays were 5 butternut seedlings. Now I have 11 butternut plants and I only wanted one or two at most!!!!!!!!! :-S :-S

Now, Now, Mandy, Don't start getting on to him. he might down tools and go and sit down, then you will have to do it yourself :-D :-D :-D
Jane, What is this electric weeding thing like. How does it work (don't say by electric) I have one of those hook shaped tools that go between the slabs, then I spray the cracks, it keeps the weeds at bay for a few months.
Just heard from Harvey, They arrived safe and sound about mid-day. unpacked, and he was just going to have a sleep. He said the journey down was horrendous, they had the weather we had yesterday, on top of that., they ran into snow. the vehicles coming the other way were caked in it. The mountain tope were covered also. Not to good in Southern France then. I told him we had sunshine and blue sky's, I won't tell you what he said, but it started with B and ended in S. ;-) ;-)
It's turned cooler outside now, I came in for a T shirt, butI'm now in the conservatory reading my book, "DUCK BUMPS" on my arms and legs.
See you later

Morning all/Evening Kim,
Well I am much better this morning, slept lick a log from 11.00 till 6.00 then dozed and had lots of silly dreams. One was me sweeping the boarders with a dustpan and brush. Got a load of wet mud in the dustpan and threw it at Ros. It hit her on the back, and showed a beautiful up as a beautiful flower. By what she said, she didn't enjoy it.lol lol
SCAM WARNING. A couple in the village had a phone call last Sunday from "THEIR BANK" say that someone had been using their details and needed their bank cards. As the bank was in London, they would send a courier to collect them. Within the hour a motor cyclist arrived, and took away their cards. Of course they had their accounts cleared out. The best of this story is, he is a retired business man and she is a PRACTISING SOLICITOR. How gullible can some people be.
Home alone today. Ros is out with Martine this morning. Then onto the Hairdressers, for cut and colouring. She won't be home till after 5.00 pm.
Conrad and Jan are coming down this afternoon (late I hope) to had an Indian with us, I won't be tempted, I will have a bit of baked fish.
Oh" what a difference a day makes." 24 little hours. The sun is very bright with blue sky's and white clouds, I have just feed the birds, and changed their water. I have also broken up a granary loaf, and thrown on the lawn, it's almost gone, the starlings just can't get anymore in their beaks. The pigeons and doves are down getting their fill.
Glad everyone is fighting fit, and ready to tackle all your choirs that you have to do.
I'm off for a shower and shave, shorts and into the garden with my book. I think I might get away with it for a while. Make hay while the sun shines .

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Bright and sunnyish morning and the wind has dropped. Some cloud in the sky but plenty of the blue stuff and enough to make a sailor many pairs of trousers.
Oh out to fix up a little bell for a little boy who goes to Okehampton every week to hear the bells. He is only 3 or 4 and loves hearing the bells so every week for about a year he has been up the tower with his mum to watch the ringers ring for service. He has been right up the tower to the bell chamber to see the actual bells. I think he is going to be a natural bell ringer.

William ,good to hear Carmel's toe continues to heal. You must be a very good nurse ,(even minus the uniform).
Dinner served here in 2 minutes.....I feel ravenous.First time in days :-D

Evening Folks,
Well, Jane sounds much brighter so that's good........the thought of cooking would send me back to bed I think.......I've only poached some eggs this week !! :-0 I wonder where Jess will be looking for jobs......or will she do more studying? I can't remember what her subject was now.
Now Frank is the sickly one.........hope you soon feel better......you couldn't had done much today anyway with this awful weather. :-) A good nights sleep is what you need now. When I got home the new growth and pine cones from the trees on the front had got blown off and was littering all the drive right up to the front door. I've never seen that happen before.
Mel, I made the simple little dragonfly necklace today that the others did last week. My 'wings' were a bit small though so I told the teacher it would have to be a 'midge'!! No, I still haven't finished my bag yet and the teacher was saying she could take any we didn't want to keep to sell on a stall she is doing in a coulple of weeks so I'd better get on with it in case I want to do that. I still need to finish a bracelet as well.......I'm better at starting things than finishing things I'm afraid!! :-S
Nice to hear from you Kim and good to hear Joy is still managing. I don't think I would want your neighbour with all that mess. There is a house in the village that has had mess like that outside for ages. I don't know what happened, but it is all boarded up now, but the mess is still there!! It is one of a pair of semi detached houses and I feel so sorry for the neighbour. It must devalue his house if he wanted to sell. Gawd knows what the inside is like or the back garden.

Jane, Carmel's toe is still in the healing process and it takes quite a few weeks to totally heal. We've been back to the clinic once and she has to go again on June 5th. Meanwhile I do the re-dressing for her, quite a process but I'm able to do it OK. She also has to leave dressing off for a while from time to time to let the air get to it. But it does look better every time we do it but it still discharges due to the chemical treatment to prevent the nail growing again.
Frank, she has just tried eating Scampi bites and croquettes (her choice!) and found it a bit uncomfortable. Until the roof of her mouth settles down I think it will continue to be sore. I have to keep doing the D*flam spray for her as it's too awkward to do herself. I'm short of putting a nurses uniform on (imagine that if you can :-D) Meanwhile, I hope you stomach settles down soon.
I just learnt that my daughter Mandy has completed part one of her 'signing language course' and I'm so proud of her for doing such a worthwhile thing. She is a student coordinator at Oxford Brookes University so I guess she thinks it could be an asset sometime if they get a student with that particular special need. Actually, I'm proud of both my son and my daughter (these by my first marriage) as after having a secondary education, they both later went on to take double honours degrees. My son has more letters after his name than he has IN his surname - our name is Roe!!!

Here I am, the worst for wear.
Yesterday after posting, I developed terrible indigestion, all I could tastes was "LIVER AND ONION" It wasn't long after that I had to visit my "White friend" Four times in the next two hours. I had a glug of Gavis###, and went to bed by 10.30 pm. I was up twice more before 1.00 am when Ros came to bed. I got up at 1.45 and sat in the lounge reading, and visiting my friend. Finally I went to bed at 4.45. I was out again by 6.00 Then again by 8.00. By this time my body/tummy felt like death warmed up. I got up at 9.30 am had a warm drink. We were out of Imodiu# so had to get by without it till Ros went to get some. I was back in bed by 10.30 and slept till 1.00 pm. I have sat in the armchair with heating on wrapped in my winter dressing gown and a fleece.
I certainly haven't missed anything weather wise. It has been gale force winds and blistery rain all day. The olive trees have been blown over, even though they are in concrete pots !! The wheelie bins have blown down the drive, and two big cardboard box's have wedged themselves under Ros's car.
Still in quarantine then Jane, poor sole, Get better soon. Hope Hannah enjoys her visit to the Emerald Isle, and she can understand the lingo !!! You will have to send Chris, on a shooting course. Then he will be able to get all the bunnies and RATS. I think when I had them, I had the chickens, I laid poison down, and got them. The only trouble was I found TWO in the pond. DEAD, but that was when I started loosing the fish.
Good to see you around Kim, I think of you quite a lot, and wish you better health, now that winter is coming. Keep warm and look after yourself.
Will, You do seem to be dodging around a lot. I trust Carmel's mouth is a little easier now the dentist has burred down the tooth.
Well I'm off to get a glass of water. No food for me tonight.
