Evening All,
Your garden looks cracking Frank. Here's me still to sort the new pipe for the pond pump and there's the new arbour still to build, plants to put in, paths to power wash and you have everything spick and span already! I hope poor Conrad is soon more comfortable.......it's a nuisance when you can't sit down.
Yes, some of those seeds looked interesting........I hadn't seen those electric daisies Mandy......don't think I fancy them either!! lol. Those little hairless Kiwi fruit sound nice though and yes, fancy Frank having his 'own' sprouts Mel!! lol.
William, I don't usually get down the W*lko end, but OH often does so I bet he knows it. You have been busy bees with all your shopping.
OH managed to (carefully) do a bit of weeding this morning........I think he made an effort as he wanted to go to a match tonight! ;-) We went to see the 3D Great Gatsby film this afternoon. I was really looking forward to it, but neither of us was that impressed. The clothes and old cars were fabulous, but it was a bit depressing we thought.
I transplanted some of my Antirrhinum seedlings this morning but have run out of sectioned trays now. I chucked loads out last year as I thought I wouldn't need many again! :-S Maureen I have a pic of a hairstyle I fancy trying but haven't taken the plunge yet. Are you all sorted now with your outfit? Is it still a bolero or did Mandy's shawl idea take your fancy?
Jane I can just picture it at your place with you emptying the place and the men scurrying out when you walk in!! Hopefully you will soon be over the worst, it does sound yucky. :-(That's a nice pic of you and Chris with your sis and her hubby.
That was a good achievement walking into town Fiona. You must have got a little glow from managing that. It will all help strengthen your legs more after being unable to do it.
The yappy dog nextdoor (woke me at 6.30am every morning this week!) nearly met his end today! We had just set off for the cinema and slowly rounded the tight bend in the close when we saw the neighbour walking him towards us on the pathway. In a flash he'd lunged into the road at our car barking his head off. The silly neighbour had got him on one of those extending leads way in front of her and not under control and the lead just pulled out as he charged at the car. She just managed to pull him from jumping up the side to the window as OH braked but let the lead go again to stop herself losing her footing and he ran under the front end of the car. We were hardly rolling by then but OH had to stand on the brakes to avoid running over him. She just walked on hauling the dog after her, no apology, nothing. You can just imagine what would happen if he ever got out of her garden. The dog goes berserk with barking at anything and everything it hears but she never tells him to shut up and when OH tested his bike up the close last year he was up on his back legs barking at him. I just feel there's an accident waiting to happen there. It isn't aggression because if you bang the dustbin lid he runs away up the garden. He's just thoroughly spoiled and overexcited, is the boss and allowed to do what he likes. Grrrr!!

Well done young man !!
Have sent some photo's of the birds and the garden. Hope you all get them
Just finished dinner. The lamb loin was very tender, but had no taste. It was to thick for Ros, so she cut it down the middle. I will put the other bit between a slice of B & B tonight, can't waste it at the price it was. !!

Hi Folks, let's see if the one can stand the pace and not disappear into the ether.
Jane, hope you are feeling better and are getting lots and lots of TLC.
Ann, your photos were great as usual, the colours were brilliant, the birds and blossoms and treat to look at. Well done.
Frank, some great emails yesterday again. I especially liked the Perrier one and made sure I showed it to Carmel.
Yesterday I went to Nuneaton early to get my feet done. Ann my know the Guideposts Community Café opposite Wilko in the town. Because I'm Carmel's care, I can get professional foot treatment for a fiver. Can't be bad. I go about every 8 weeks or so and feel all the better for it.
Our friendly plumber returned yesterday and fitted a new outside tap for me with much better plumbing and easier to turn off come the frosts. Another water problem over, as Carmel is always saying "There's always been trouble with water in this house". I suppose that's what you get when you have two 'water signs' zodiacs living in the same house!!!
We have been out treble shopping today in spite of the cold wind. I needed to go to *&Q at Binley and then we called in to L*dl next door. Not content with that we then double round and into the big M*rrisons store, had a lunch then got a great load of bargains in the 'reduced' section. The freezer is now groaning under the strain and the fridge is full.
Off now for a cuppa and a bite. C Y A L

Yes I am pleased with my self, I am improving , though I have had to phone the hospital nurse this afternoon and leave a message on her answer phone to tell her my head has flared up again. she probably say add another pill on or come into the clinic. it's been a couple of months since I last spoke to her , it's so reassuring to have someone to call when it starts to tingle again,
Page is back to normal now Frank. :-D

If I am still like this there is no way I could have my hair done tomorrow. The cough is the kind that makes you urge and gag if you know what I mean :-S.Plus I would have exploding germs flying from me .I have been downstairs most of the day as no-one else is here .But I will be shooed upstairs when the boys are back. They won't even breath the same air !!!!!
Poor Conrad Frank.I hope he will soon be able to sit down.It must be very awkward for him :-(
Maureen I hope you get the hairdo you want :-D.The wedding must be coming up shortly.
Fiona didn't you do well walking all that way. :-D.You must have felt really pleased.
The sun is shining :-D First time today. The towels on the line are whizzing around too in the breeze. I must go now .Tatty Bye

Well I can't believe it, the SUN IS OUT, but still very windy.
I put a fleece on at lunchtime and mowed the back lawn. I will trim the edges tomorrow and try to get the front one done.
So pleased you could walk to town Fiona," one small step for man etc" don't overdo it. The next thing you will be telling us you have entered the half marathon :-D :-D :-D
Maureen, I am sure you will look the part for your Son's weeding, even if you can't get a new hair style. !!!
Jane, I bet you will feel much better if you can get your hair done, after lying in bed for a couple of days. LAZY LITTLE MONKEY ;-) ;-) ;-)
I have some beautiful Lamb loin steaks for tonight's dinner. I have sprinkled them with dried mint and massaged it into the meat. Will fry them very lightly in olive oil, and serve with new pots, runners, broad beans, Brussels and swede. Have eaten all the apple pie, so no sweet tonight, not that we have one very often.
We have both had a little doze this afternoon, so hope I sleep alright tonight.
Conrad is showing signs of improvement after his operation last week. They went through his buttock to rectify a problem inside his BUM. He is very sore, and not yet able to sit for long. He says he leans against the door frame, or props himself against the table to eat and watch T.V.
I know when I was about 8/9 years old, I had the biggest boil you could imagine in between my bum cheeks, I had to sit in about 4 inches of water with this stuff in the bath, and try to burst it. I walked around as though I had messed my paints :-D :-D In fact on the way home from school to bath it (which I had to do every 4 hours) A woman down the street said "I'll tell your Mum what you have done" Silly old MOO !!
I don't know why, but I was prone to boils all my young life, something to do with our diet no doubt . I think most kids had the same trouble.
I hope you aren't reading this after your evening meal . ;-) ;-) ;-)

Well done Fiona, when you think back to how you were not so long ago you have come on in leaps and strides (not literally :-))
Isn't it a bit late to be doing seeds now. What is wrong with my poor cucumber plants they look all wilted and sorry for themselves, do you think I've watered them too much. Killing them with kindness.
Jane hope you manage to get to the hairdressers tomorrow that will be a tonic in itself. I have printed off a picture of a hairstyle to take to my hairdresser next week, she'll probably say my hair's too short for it but I wanted something a bit special for sons wedding.

Frank my page is wide this morning too. I thought it was just me but the border is almost one side only.
We have been sitting out on the deck as we saw a great tit go in the nest box on the fence. I had told oh it was too low and nothing would go in it but they have. We also fed mealworms to the Robin and Cheeky Chaff and the Chaffinch was feeding babies in the holly tree and he was feeding one in the big ash tree. Then the one in the holly moved to the red maple by the pond. They fed it there for a while till it flew off into the holly tree again. It must have been full I should think. Oh commented on just how much the little ones can eat. We put the mealworms on the rail of the decking right in front of us and they come and take them from there where you could reach out and touch them.
That Callaloo I have never seen before. What a showy plant.

Morning all/Evening Kim.
As you say MEL. still miserable but a little brighter.
How's our little soldier this morning,?? feeling a little better I hope.
We have been watching the BIRDS fighting over the fat ball thingy, starlings everywhere, beaks open and squawking at each other to get pole position. The Jackdaws are also descending from great heights and scaring everything away. Our little blackbird, has enough sense to sit on the ground, and pick up all the bits that get knocked off. !!
Nothing planed for today again, might give the lawns a once over, while it is dry.
The pages seem to be very wide this morning, have you noticed ???

Morning Mel, Everyone, Evening Kim.
Hope you are feeling better to day Jane. Not meeting up with friends today, all got other plans,
Sun comes in & out at the moment, warmish when the wind drops, but the wind is cool so is keeping the temp down. Might pop into town later depends how I feel.I need to post a certain persons birthday card for the 2nd June :-D, and OH slippers have fallen to bits, he has had them since Christmas , but forgets and sometimes wears them outside. so I need to buy him a new pair.
One of the ladies who I usually meet up with on a Wednesday has gone to pick up her daughter and baby granddaughter from Glasgow airport they are arriving from Germany today and will be staying with her mum & dad for a couple of weeks, my daughter no 1 knew the girl from Church before she got married and went over to Germany to live, they have been texting each other and it has been arranged for daughter and me in toe with Sofia & Matteo to go over to see the family tomorrow, so that will be a nice morning visit, we will probably only be for an hour or so as we have to get home for lunch and to take Sofia to nursery at 1
time for a cuppa.

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Still dull and grey here but it has been a bit brighter if that makes sense!
Hope Jane is feeling better today and is getting over this horrible bug thing she has.
I watched Pinkyhog in the garden last night. I had put a line of dried food across from the front lawn where I feed and the back lawn. I went out for a ciggy in the dark and could hear crunching and put my torch on and there was a hog eating the food. I turned the light off and listened and heard it working it's way along the line of food I had dropped. Turned on the big light that shines right down the garden and she/he walked on to the back lawn as if I was'nt there and proceeded to snuffle in the grass for other food. Then it ran along the side of the pond and disappeared under the decking.

Glad the new D*son is good Frank. That bit of extra power has made a big difference. I've recorded the Town prog on at 9.00pm about Oban.
I was looking at these and wondering whether to try some today, especially the Callaloo seeds as they would look nice in the borders. :-)

Evening all,
Been a right horrible day here, cold in the wind, and no sunshine. The first bit of blue sky I saw was at 7.30 this evening :-( :-(
Got the new Dyso# 35 put together and on charge. Later this afternoon I decided to try it out. What a great little thing it is. I was able to go right under the chairs, sofa and table, without moving anything. Very powerful little motor. I did the lounge, conservatory, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen, and still the little collection pot wasn't full. It's back on charge now, ready for next use.
Had F & C from the van tonight, saved me cooking.
Mandy, I grew a tray of Lupins earlier this year. Potted them on, Ros has put loads around the garden and given a lot away to friends and relatives. Still got some in pots in the greenhouse.
I take it you are in solitary confinement then Jane, I bet the "boys" are enjoying a break from your nagging lol lol
Will, I know how you feel about the post going up the vacuum !! It happened to me yesterday.
I have seen the horse fair on T.V. with the RSPCA and vets in attendance checking that the horses aren't badly treated. They do tent to race them about, while showing them off for the buyers. Not my type of thing.
Will try to find something to watch on T.V for an hour or so, before getting in my PIT and having a read.
See you in the morning. Hope for a bit of sunshine, but I doubt it !!
