Mandy you asked about water filter jugs a while back. I always use one as the water here tastes horrid straight from the tap. I use mine for everything, cooking drinking, kettle and even plants.
It dos'nt take long for the water to go through but it also depends on the filters. Some take ages while others are good and quick. Mine is a Bri**a and takes the tale long filters.

Morning all, Evening Kim,
Bit murky here this morning too :-S
We went to Wells yesterday with sister and BIL as they now have there new car and wanted to take it out for a drive ,hubby wants one like it now !! it even has a cool box fitted to keep your drinks cool !! what ever will they think of next !! Of course we had to have fish and chips !! :-D we went into a nice little restaurant and had a cuppa and as we sat by the window we could see the sea mist rolling in ,by the time we left about seven it was really thick !!
Jane ,thanks for the photo's ,it looked a nice place where you stayed ,i love all the shutters on the windows of the buildings and the gold colouring made the building really stand out . Well done to Hannah and John going up the shard !! don't think i could do that , just think if the lifts went wrong and you had to do the stairs !! :-S :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Oh i say Frank, :-D is Lewis getting some practise in ready for a girl friend :-D :-D Your garden sounds as if its coming along nicely , i suppose the rain has helped ,now we just need some nice warm sun to help things along ,but it doesn't look like we're going to get any today by the look of the sky .
Ann, glad you enjoyed your holiday ,shame about the weather , at least you managed to get out and about and see some of Cornwall. Hope OH's back is better today .
Oh hubby's just popped back ,better see what he's home for .

Morning all/Evening Kim,
I don't think it's going to brighten up here today, low cloud and a cool breeze. I think we had a drop of rain in the night.
Little blue tits are in and out of the neighbours box. They must be feeding their babies. I have put meal worms on the lawn and a bowl of of water. So they don't have to go to far for food if they want mine. !! Have tried to take photo, but they are to quick !!
Cold beef, in gravy with pots and veg for tonight. With Apple pie and custard. (over from yesterday)
All my veg in the patch, are looking good. Runners look very strong, cabbage and Caulis are all standing up and not been attacked by the birds or slugs/snails. Radish, spring onion and beetroot starting to show. Carrots and garlic only went in last week. so no movement there yet, likewise with potato's. No sign of peas yet either.
My it was nice to sit down and relax after they went home last night. Harvey looks completely tired out. He is working from 7.30 am till 9.00 pm. trying to get everything done before going away next weekend. Makes you wonder if it's worth it. Lewis wanted to give "NAN" a love bite on her upper arm. She fort with him, but he managed to leave a mark on her arm. (little B) he then tried it on me, and my is he getting a strong lad. He held both my arms down by my side, and I couldn't get them free. I had better watch out when having rough play with him. He will soon be able to "BEAT" me up lol lol.
We are all fed and watered, so I am off for my shower and shave, NOT SURE about shorts today. Will have to see how the weather progresses.

Good morning all, Evening Kim
Another dull day at the moment but not cold outside. Daughter no 2 was complaining about sore eyes yesterday, (by the way my eyes are fine.) both us us thought it was because we had been playing with Sofia in the garden. OH had planted some pots and Sofia wanted to water them with her little watering can but the poor plants were more like drowned, finely I managed to get her to water the rest of the garden.
Oh I did side track :-| was telling you about daughters eyes, she woke up this morning and they were swollen and had to go to the doctors, thinks the problem is because she had her eyebrows waxed on Friday, and it has caused the irritation, hopefully she will ring me later to tell how she got on. Oh dear What we do to ourselves to look beautiful ;-) ;-)

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Coudy and dull today here. Pottered about in the garden yesterday and repooted the two Hostas I bought oh. Put them in plastic planters that look like terracotta. Hope they settle down quickly. Have put them on the decking either side of my little white metal two seater. Don't think I will repot the grass as it's leaves fall over the sides of the pot which is white. I popped inbetween the two big hydrangas but it did'nt look good. It needs to be on it's own so you can see the beauty of it.
Oh made a feeding ring for his pond but the fish would'nt go near it. He put food pellets in it and then moved it and put dried shrimp in it ans still they would'nt go to it and feed. Then went out in the evening and they were all using it. This morning they fed from it ok but they push it up in the air and release the food with the confines of the circle. He is going to make another and put hose pipe inside to give it a bit of weight.
Thanks for the pics Jane. Those building are amazing. I like the yellow one too. Looks so bright and cheerfull. The row of buildings from the boat trip are really ornate.
William I have answered your email and told you what flowers you have in the garden.
Hope David is getting along nicely now. It must be awful for him trying to get around in that frame. Thinking of you David and wishing you knit those bones soon.
I have a bantam still sitting in the house on goodness knows how many eggs. I was going to take 5 away yesterday and oh told me not too because they will all hatch at different times as I did'nt set the eggs. They all just layed in the same box day after day.
When oh went to bed last night he looked out the bedroom window and came and said he thought he saw a hedgehog in our back field. We both went out and this little fellow was charging around back and forth and was'nt looking for food but a female I think. I never knew hedgehogs could move so fast!!!!!!!!!!! It was like he was jet propelled and you could just imagine his little four inch legs going nineteen to the dozen as he sped along.
Also saw a small hog in the back garden later and then later still at 11.30ish I think I saw Hogwart so went down onto the grass and it did'nt run away but crouched down on the grass like hoggy used to when he was indoors. I stroked it and spoke to him and said goodnight and walked away. When I got to the back door he had gone from under the solar light.

Ann, Oh what I would give for a BATH instead of a shower. After my stroke, they turned the bathroom into a wet room. I have since put in a shower cubicle. but would love to be able to lay back for a good soak. The trouble is, I wouldn't be able to get out of one now. !!
I have received your photo's Jane. The buildings are so beautiful.
It's very difficult to get a pitch black night round here. There are street lights everywhere. When I first moved up here from London. I rented a cottage in a country village, and at night it was pitch black, and I would sit outside and listen to the owls hooting at each other. very peaceful, and relaxing.
Harvey was late getting here today, I got dinner for 3.30 pm and they didn't arrive till nearer 5.00 pm. It's such a job keeping everything warm and fresh.. By the time I had got everything out of the hostess and oven, I had gone passed wanting my dinner, so only picked at mine. But they seemed to enjoy theirs.
Y They are off to France Friday afternoon, till Sunday after. We have given Lewis £20.00 for spending money, I would have been happy with TWO BOB. How times have changed.

Afternoon All,
William, your 'unknown' looks quite like an Alchemilla or Lady's Mantle to me, but is a bit different to the one I had a few years ago. It seems to have the wrong leaves for a Euphorbia although the flowers look similar.
Thanks for the pics Jane, the hotel building does look interesting and well preserved. Ghent and also Bruges are 2 places I would like to visit. Well done Hannah and John going up the Shard.......I don't think wild horses would get OH up there and I'm not sure how far up I'd get either!!
Lovely pics of the grandchildren Maureen and what nice views of the river William and of Exhall church. We were only saying the other day that someone must have made a fortune supplying the churches with those blue church clocks.
Mel, I prefer it pitch dark at night too.........it was like that in Staffordshire when I was a little girl. I think I've said before about standing at the backdoor calling Tiger, our tabby, and being amazed at seeing him appear out of the darkness.
Can someone send me Fiona's pics please? :-)
We went to the garden centre this morning on the way to MIL's and I got some leek plants and cos lettuce plants and a dwarf monkey musk plant.......more jobs to do!! lol. MIL said she is having her cataracts done soon.......and she's already cancelling appointments because they 'don't suit'!! :-S
That was bad luck Ros getting a speeding fine Frank, they pick all the likely places to catch you out. Couldn't she have gone on one of those speed awareness courses they offer instead of the fine/points? I know someone who did that.
OH was 'Mr Not-Very-Happy' with his back this morning and has been taking tablets. I think he will be in a nice hot bath later!! :-)

Hannah and John went up the Shard building in London yesterday....Wow the view !! It's so high. Well after a lovely sunny and really warm day it has now clouded over. There are millions of bugs and flies :-S.Does the weather go downhill again after today?
I see no Pat or David ,or Ruby and Dermot !!.Am I right in thinking Liz has gone ?I am sorry if she has :-(

Afternoon All I have had so much trouble with the internet this morning I gave up.Just having a try again now ,so fingers crossed. Ha! I just saw a Heron fly over the garden. It must landing next door.
Hi Ann what a pity about the weather. But it sounds like you have managed to have a great week in spite of it.Nice to have managed to eat outside on your last morning :-D
Fiona I think your garden is looking lovely :-D Got the Church pic this morning William :-D
I tried sending a couple more pics but until the internet settles down and behaves nothing will go.
I have cleared out my Mum's old Bureaux this morning. It is an ugly old thing that used to be my Nana's.Mum wanted me to keep it :-S.Which I have like a dutiful daughter :-D up until this morning.I couldn't stand it stuck in my bedroom any longer. But it is not being chucked out.James is going to have it and make use of it .I was feeling guilty about getting rid of it,and now I needn't worry :-D
I need to go and take an antihistamine now as all the dust in it has got to me ,plus I have just pulled a load of giant nettle type weeds and I'm itching. I'll BBL

William that was the first song I thought about but thought Max Bygaves was better.
Glad you all liked me singing to you this morning.
Fiona your garden is going to look great now you have the sheds out of the way and perhaps hubby will get his greenhouse!
Frank I always think of that song when the weather is clement and afterall it is Spring and the trees are flowering. I just wish the cherry trees could last a little longer. All along Bideford coming up to the old bridge there are white cherry trees and they looked absolutely wonderful when I went in on Monday.
I have just opened a new tin of boot polish. Do you think I could get the lid off. You used to have a little twisty thing on the edge of the tin that you turned and it opened the tin. This one has no such thing but on reading the small print on the tin I see you press one side and the tin comes open!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
