Morning Mel , Frank & Evening Kim,

Gray day with a little sun at times but no rain as yet touch wood (touched wooden computer desk) :-)

I'm meeting up with daughter no 1 at half 1 in town. she is looking for a long dress or skirt for Matteo's christening in Italy in June, she likes to look around early as she not one for seeing things she likes quickly,

I will have to remember to pick up my prescription at the surgery so I can put it into chemist while I'm in town.

We won't know where we are when Jane and Ann get back, will we. There will be so many posts to read I shan't be able to catch up.

Sun is out hear and the washing machine is on. Oh out getting deisel and paying for his car. Stuart fixed it for him, thank goodness.

Got library in a min but I only have to go up to our gateway by the road and I can check the egg sales at the same time.

Frank Report 16 May 2013 11:00

I'M HERE MEL ;-) ;-) ;-)

Have been up and about since 6.45 am Bright sunny morning with very little breeze.

I sat in the lounge with my 1st cup of tea and the sun was very warm on my back. The crystals I bought Ros the other year, hang in the lounge window, so I thought I would have a light show. I flicked all the crystals and the colours danced around the room, and so beautiful. Set me up for the day.

Had breakfat, and got Ros's crumpets ready and her cup ready for the tea. I went down the garden and feed and watered the birds.

The washing machine is on with a Whites wash,I have put the line up, ready for Ros to hang out the sheets etc. (she hates me doing it, says I don't do it right) cheeky monkey. :-D :-D

Will get the potato's in the bags today, and IF it stays fine and the lawns dry out, I will get those cut as well.

I see there are a lot of clouds building up from the south east. so we might get the rain again !!!

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Got the dreaded Error page this morning AGAIN ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had it yesterday too. Kept having to go ten pages at a time them into the hundreds and then into the thousands and so on till I got there.

I don't even know yet whether you have posted anything today.

We had hailstones half an hour ago but the sky is brighter now but still grey clouds.

FRANK those daffs will probably flower next year. I think the awful summer we had last year and all the rain they did'nt get enough goodness out of the soil or enough light during the year to make their flowers. Give them a sprinkle of fertilizer and don't cut the tops off till June and they should be ok.

We had some with no flowers this year too.

Yes they had snow on Dartmoor too but it had melted when I went out this afternoon as I can see Dartmoor on the way to Holsworthy. In fact from our church just up the road you can see Dartmoor and Exmoor. If the blimmin trees were'nt over the back and side we could see them both from our house.

Mandy fancy you picking up oh's keys!!!! Bet your in the dog house now. :-S

Had this from Liz, see what you think.

Oh Mel, I am sorry about your Pheasant, that was a really horrid thing to discover, I wonder what happened to him? I suspect foul play, particularly if he'd injured himself. When we kept hens years ago at home, if one injured itself or whatever, the other's would always attack it, even killing it on one occasion - put me off chicken a wee bit!!!
Better day here today, even seen the sun - do hope Ann and Gordon are having a nice break despite the weather. I think these days you have to just accept that it may be horrid and that a fine few days is a bonus!
Mel. I could always email the others as a collective email, like a post, it would save you having to do it as it could be a pain! might be better to do that, as I don't want to put on you - see how you feel!!
Ian's having a bonfire, so am off to see fair play!!
Liz xx

Good to know that Kim is about, i do hope David's ok ,Mel was it you who said he had fluid on his lung ?

I wonder if Pat is still having family problems and that's why she hasn't been on.

Not a bad evening here now ,i can see blue sky , did you see on the news that in some places they had had snow !!!

Frank Report 15 May 2013 19:01

What are you like MANDY, ??? Poor OH must have been pulling his hair out. :-D I bet you laughed like a drain.

We had the same trouble with our toilet (kept running after a flush) I told Harvey, he said it's the valve at the bottom of the cistern. He came up with a new one and fixed it in FIVE minutes. Saved us a bit on water bills.

Pheasant for dinner soon then Mel, or are you like me, I couldn't eat something that I had got attached too. <3 <3

It's now a lovely evening here, sunshine and blue sky's but everywhere is so wet. It has rained a lot of the day.

I don't think we could get anymore bulbs in the garden, so will pass on Wilkin##
I see we had some blind Daffs this year. Ros was going to pull them up and throw them away, I said leave them, I will put more in later in the year, you never know they might bloom next year :-D :-D You can only hope.!!

I rang Carolyn about a photo of the ducklings, but it appears SHE the mother has done her vanishing trick and taken them off to the canal. <3 <3

I see Kim has been on FB as Shirl will know, so assume she's O.K. don't know about Pat and David ??

MillymollyAmanda Report 15 May 2013 18:11

You might be lucky with the bulbs Maureen there was loads of them in our Wilk*nsons ,i was very tempted to get more at that price .

Oh poor old Phil Mel, do you think he got hit by some thing last night when it was so windy ?

Hubby has been hunting for his set of keys,he has house keys and van keys all on one key ring, he's hunted the house out ,the shed , looked in the car and couldn't find them any where, he rang son in case he had picked them up when they called in as son always lays his keys down when he comes in ,no he hadn't got them , couldn't find them any where .......... i happened to go to my hand bag and there they were :-S i had picked them up thinking they were my set :-S :-S

Meant to say just before I went out I saw something up the orchard by the box hedge. Went up to see if it was a bantam but it was our resident pheasident Phil. grabbed him by the tail and he was still alive, just. His poor head had been plucked bald and he was bleeding from his beak. He was'nt there before lunch.

Oh thinks he could have flown into something last night and had just gone in the box hedge over night and managed to come out onto the grass. As I went up there the other pheasent ran away. It was the one Phil always sees off out of the garden so I don't know whether he would have had a go at Phil and plucked his feathers from his head. We always new Phil because he had'nt the usual white ring around his neck. Now the girls will have to put up with the other two who they don't like and run away from. I hope they hatch some of Phil's offspring and we may know if we get ayoungster without the white collar.

When I got home Phil was dead.....................Boo Hoo....... :-(

Just trying to get to the last page.

Thanks for mentioning that Mandy, I shall pop into our Harrow Wilkin**ns to see if they still have some bulbs left, I do like Gladiolus but there a bit like me when I've had a few drinks ...... can't stand up straight .......lol. they were selling L'Or**l anti wrinkle cream half price last week I bet that's all gone now.

Flowers beds are quite big Frank but they are chock-a- block with shrubs so will give it a miss.

I'm glad Liz will still be communicating with us via Mel, would hate to see her go.

We haven't heard from Pat or Kim lately either hope they are both okay.

Morning everyone,evening Kim,

Windy here but nice and dry so far .

I thought of you Mel when we were looking at the weather forecast last night and they said it was going to be very windy your way , glad to hear there was no damage after the windy night .

I hope all goes well for your MIL on Tuesday Fiona .

You are having an expensive time this week Frank, what with the fine and now the Dy*on packing up !! :-S
I would love to see a photo of all the little ducklings, what about fifteen of them all toddling round the garden !! :-D

Hubby has just had to look at the downstairs loo , after flushing the cistern the water keeps on running :-S he's had the top off the cistern and fiddled with it and it now seems to be working ok again , we'll just have to keep an eye on it and if it does it again we'll have to have Nigel the plumber in to have a look at it .

Oh Liz it will be nice to hear from you now and again through Mel, and may be you'll be back again when you have more time :-)

When we went into Wilkins*ns this morning they were selling all the packs of bulbs off at seventy five pence each so got eight packs all sorts of ,Lilly's, Dahlia's and Gladiolus , should make a nice show in the garden .

Morning all/Evening Kim,

Wet and windy here also today, yet another day when nothing will get done outside.

MORE EXPENCE for me today. The Dyson has decided to give up the ghost, So Madam wants a DC 35 that hooks on the wall and recharges it's self. She ordered it this morning, so should be with us by the end of the week. I must admit the DC 14 animal we have is very heavy to push around, so it should make life a bit easier for her back and legs. Now I won't get so many MOANS :-D :-D :-D

Fiona, Hope all goes well with MIL's operation.

Will, How very true, some places get very complacent with how they treat customers, I find the multi nationals, take the attitude, like it or lump it, as they know there are always more customers to walk through the door. Whereas the independent, will put themselves about to make sure your are happy, and return again, and pass on your "good comments" to others.

The little blue tits box next door is a hive of activity, in and out all the time., I don't know how many eggs they are sitting on, I think the numbers are around 6/8.

Carolyn said she has 15 (Yes Fifteen) ducklings in her garden, it would appear they have hatched since she's been back home.

I still have about 25 seed potato's to put into bags, but can't see that happening today,

Stay warm and dry. BBL

Morning All, Evening Kim

Gray morning but thankfully no rain as yet, still windy , meeting up with friends for coffee( hot choc for me) at 11 quickest hour & half of the week , all ways chatting and all of a sudden it's time to go.

OH home tonight expecting him about 7.30 but more than likely he will phone and say his flight is delayed :-)

MIL phoned yesterday, she got on fine at her hospital appointment but her appointment for her op has been brought forward a day(next Tuesday) because she has to go to Preston Hospital instead of Chorley also someone has to be with her for 24 hours after the op but as she lives on her own, and her family who live close by are at work, she will have to stay in hospital over night.
Chorley hospital does not have beds for over nighters. So Preston hospital have arranged for a taxi to pick her up to take her to hospital, and OH brother will pick her up on the Wednesday as he has a half time shift that day.

time for a cuppa. BBL

Wiliam I am going to give Frankie a go on replay. Let me know what you thought about it please.

Hi folks, yes Frank, we are still around - no out and about for us on a cr*ppy day like today! Actually Carmel needed a bit of a rest after walking around yesterday, she mustn't overdo it until that toe is healing well.

Maureen, the people in that café were far more concerned about their level of service and quality than the Blue Pig at Wolvey where we had Sunday lunch the other week. You remember the good ones, that's what these people forget. Vote with your feet, after all it's our cash that's keeping them in business.

Frank, I think your Ros should make a move to Silverstone by the sound of it. What a pity to make the wrong move especially when the police are about. Mind you when I got lost in Hinckley yesterday, there was a point when I was deciding on what route to take, I wondered if I'd just jumped a light. If I did, the car behind me did too. so that counts for something.

Going to watch this new drama Frankie tonight, see what it's like. One minute we are in the hospital at Holby, the next we'll be out with the district nurses. What's on the other side - a programme about the NHS :-0 Carmel sat and watched the BAFTA's awards from last night that I'd recorded. To be honest, and I've said this before, I can't stand awards programmes.
