Frank it is still too windy here to sweep anything. The good is that the washing is whizzing around nicely :-D I just looked up the longer range weather for Lille next week.It only looks about 14 to 17 degrees.I still don't know what to pack :-S.I know I am not taking a coat or jacket.Just a thin rain jacket and medium thick card. They will do to go over anything.I don't feel the cold much so that should be ok for me. James is going to cook a Curry for him and Chris on Monday, and I will get something easy for them for the rest of the time I'm away.I don't think I should have to bother really as they are quite capable of sorting themselves out.I'm sure they won't starve lol I had a couple of little faces looking at me through the kitchen window just now.....the Robins :-D.I don't know if one is Buster or not. There are too many different ones now.I think a couple are young ones.
Fitz has just lent me a little book.....It is called 'I Remember' and is by someone called Joe Brainard .Each little memory begins with the words I Remember. He grew up in the 40's and 50's.It brilliant . I will pick out some of his memories and put some on the thread when I post. To start off I remember sitting on top of a horse and thinking how High up I was I remember rubbing my hands under the table and feeling all the gum I remember very old people when I was very young.Their houses smelled funny. I remember trying to put on a not quite dry bathing suit (ugh) I remember not trusting pressure cookers
I too remember trying to get on a damp or wet swimming costume .It was a nightmare trying to pull it up and getting the straps to get to the shoulders lol

Jane you must be kidding, who's ever going to trust Dr. Death with seedlings :-D :-D :-D
Still having trouble with getting internet connection, when ever I get to what I want it tells me I have lost the connection. I am tearing my hair out (what I have left)
We had another letter this morning from Sandant## saying about being accepted for new credit cards. We haven't applied and have reported the fact to their fraud dept. TWICE and the police. I sent them a very stern email this morning, saying if this persists, I will take it further.
Have just watered the front garden, all the bedding plants are starting to wilt. I'm sorry to say. We do need some prolonged night time rain. Ros is having a sweep up on the patio. When she's finished I will go and water out there.
All this trouble with joints, is down to arthritis, I suffer terrible in my fingers, wrists, knees and shoulders How about you Will. ??
Ros is doing one of her curry's tonight, so I have a night off.

Good morning all/Evening Kim.
Oh what a lot of trouble trying to get on here yesterday. After my first posting I tried 5 different times, and I just couldn't make contact. I tried everything, but no luck. So this morning was to be hit or miss, then I would have emailed Jane/Mel to say I couldn't get on.
Glad you have your teeth sorted now Will. You will be able to do an advert for COLGAT# toothpaste with a big smile lol lol
Hope the weather improves for you Ann. If you don't go till Monday, this wind and rain should have cleared. I won't be around Sunday, so if I can't get back on have a nice few days break.
Shirl. You know you love having the FAMILY to take over your house, have they been looking after you or vis versa??? I'm sure the "HORRORS" look after you lol lol. Hope the biopsy turns out O.K. keep us posted <3 <3 <3
When are you off Jane, I'm sure it won't be long now !! LOOK OUT FRANCE Trouble is on it's way :-D :-D
What a day yesterday was, :-| :-| That wind blew everything around the garden that wasn't NAILED down. The number of time I had to go out and pick up plants in pots, and move them. Where ever I put them the wind seemed to get at them. I packed them tightly together in the end.
Still breezy this morning but nothing like yesterday. Very cloudy, so I expect we will get rain later.
Hope you all have a good day, I will try to get back later, but who knows !!!

Morning All,
It was sunny here an hour ago but now it is spitting with rain and OH has just gone to get the car washed. :-S
I think Gnasher was Dennis the Menace's dog, not cat, Mel. I can just picture him now.
Oh Shirl, I wouldn't know if I was coming or going with a houseful like that. Was it the weather or the plumbing that caused the flood? I just hope there wasn't too much damage. I hope your biopsy results are good and come through soon. It's been one thing after another for you lately.
I'm glad yesterday's ordeal is over for you both William and hope the gum soon heals over. I think a quiet day is in order for you both today, hope Carmel's throat isn't too bad this morning.
Yes Jane it was last year we expected rain, rain, rain but got sun, sun, sun!!! :-) I don't think it will be the same this year though!! Is it Monday you will be setting off with Janice? I just have to pack some tops and shoes now after a last minute look at the forecast later. I'm determined to go to Dingles Fairground Museum on the way back this year.......might even manage to clamber on the gallopers!!

William ,oops sorry Nurse William :-D... Gnasher William ..Wasn't there a dog called Gnasher in a comic? Good that Carmel's toe is looking good ,and yes antibiotics for her sore throat will hopefully keep any bugs at bay.
Dinner ready now.Chris is sat up banging his knife and fork :-|........the lights are flickering .I hope that doesn't mean we are in for a power cut :-S

Hi everyone, what a changeable blustery day! I tried getting on here about 2pm and got the dreaded error message! Had to Google, log-in then 100 pages of the thread at a time again, what a pest :-(
Was at the dentist at 8.30am this morning where he took impressions of my upper and lower teeth and I left my plate with him with the one tooth on it. We then went to the Nuneaton NHS chiropody clinic at 11.45am for Carmel to have her toe nail checked over and a new dressing put on. It's looking good so we're hoping it stays that way. I have to do any intermediate dressings till her next check in two weeks time. It's OK folks, they gave me the training there - you can now call me Nurse William ;-) Then I was back at the dentists at 3.30pm to have the root out, and I can tell you it was stubborn, it didn't want to part with me LOL. Anyway, he did an X-ray to check the root was OK, then presto! he has my plate ready with the replacement tooth on it, I thought that was amazing quick service. So I'm sitting here with an almost full set of gnashers again. I'm waiting for the injections to finally wear off then I'm going to do the recommended mouth wash with salt water. I'm looking forward to a cup of warm tea. Soft foods for the next three days, any recipes Frank or ladies??? Did I tell you I had to take Carmel to the doctors yesterday afternoon? She was complaining of a sore throat and it turns out she's got a virus! However, the toe clinic said today that the antibiotics would probably be a good thing for the toe not to get infected, though it shouldn't.
Will watch the new drama on ITV at 9pm tonight, see what it's like. I'm afraid we didn't like the Viscous series that started, and didn't even get to the end of the first episode. We just looked at each other after 10 minutes, both shook our heads and turned over to something else.
Anyway, enough of us for now. C Y A L

Fiona I meant to say that blue tits only have one lot of babies. They time them for when the hawthorn blossom is out and it has moth caterpillars on it which are just the right size for baby bluetits.

Gosh I see most of us have this awful weather.
Yes I was very pleased to see all the banties went in last night ad it was just silly old me who miscounted. I had my torch too!!
Maureen sound as though you had a really good weekend with wine and birdsong. I just wore myself out on the garden.
Fiona you will soon be able to go and have your hair done and it will make you feel loads better afterwards. Just think what I put up with as mine reaches just about to my knees. I am sure plaiting it every night keeps my fingers supple. Can't wear it in a pony tail anymore as it gets too tangled. Just put it in high ponytail and twist it up and pop a clip on it.

Hello everyone. I have had a day with the pooter OFF !!!!,just to make myself get things done :-D.
My word the wind is strong. No rain as such(yet) just spits and spots.I think it is supposed to get stronger over the next few hours :-S.
Maureen how nice to hear just the birds. If we didn't have the blasted A14 so near and the wind in the wrong direction it would be bliss. When we first moved to this house in 1991 the traffic noise was nothing like it is now.
Oh Fiona ,I see what you mean with your 2 tone hair.Maybe you could start a new fashion :-D.Hopefully soon you will be able to get yourself a cut and colour and back to your old self.Thats progress being able to have a low ponytail :-D
Mel I bet you were so relieved that all the Girls were IN :-D
I had a surprise call this morning (Rachel Dubai) !!!.How weird is that after me posting that parcel yesterday :-S Anyway nothing was said about the Hoo Ha last year, and I'm not bringing it up.I can't be doing with all that again. She knows how she behaved and hopefully if she visits again she wouldn't dare put on a show like before. That would definitely be the last time But I was pleased finally to speak and hear how the children are doing etc (even though I know from her her OH's Mum lol). They are moving to Capetown in 9 weeks time.
Have you packed your Galoshes Ann!.Oh I hope it doesn't rain too much for you.Was it last year you expected rain but in fact it turned out not bad? Oh this wind !!!!!!!! I don't like it .I hope there is no damage.

Afternoon All,
Really gusty winds here and the lashing down rain has arrived too!! By the time I got from the hairdresser's to my car my hair was standing on end!!! lol Glad you were lucky with the weather for your weekend in Kent Maureen.....it sounds like you had a nice chill and relax with the sun, birdsong and wine! :-DI'm off to Cornwall.....in the rain by the looks of it. Still I'm taking my paintbox and beads and some books so I'll be alright!! lol.
Oh I'm glad the banties turned up Mel.......I had wondered about Mr Fox too. The naughty girls had better come in at night with him on the prowl!! :-0
I thought about you at the hairdresser's today Fiona while my hair was being washed and my head massaged. It made me think how difficult it was for you with your head so sensitive. You are lucky to still have your normal colour, I found white bits in my early twenties and they've completely taken over now. OH says, unlike him, at least I have hair!!
I did the heavy duty cleaning this morning (kitchen and bathroom) so there is just dusting for me to do and OH will hoover through in the morning while I'm out. He's doing errands now and is then off to a match afterwards.
I hope William's day is going to plan. Not much fun in this wind though.
