Morning Everyone, Evening Kim
Raining here and gusty winds, I had decided to plant a couple of planters & my wishing well this morning , OH says he will bring them into the back porch fro me to do as it too windy out there.
just managing to tie my hair back in a low pony tail without to much discomfort, , my hair is now just down past my shoulders and it's a pain as it gets in my dinner and looks funny being half back to my normal colour and the coloured hair,I haven't had it this length since I was a teenager

Night Frank.......hope your legs aren't up the wardrobe door tonight!! :-)
Mel I hope your 2 Banties turn up. Mum had a chicken that would get out and disappear to sit on eggs in the orchard bit at the bottom of the garden.
Yes I would certainly agree with Jane about Fitz........he's quite unique and genteel in his manner...........and very interesting and likeable!! :-) You must tell how the cat sitting went Jane!
Off to bed now......haircut tomorrow, between more packing and the house to clean. Nighty night. x

I have just been all round the garden looking for two missing bantam hens. I hope they are ok and sitting on eggs somewhere. There is one sitting in one of the houses but i think I shall take her eggs away as they all make so much mess around the garden. I shall have to have a count tonight when I shut them in. There were 10 last night so it is only today they have gone missing and I have been out all afternoon. Still I hav'nt seen piles of feathers anywhere.

I'm the same Jane, suitcase on the bed and bits and bobs keep going in!! I don't know what to take either. Last year I took all stuff to wrap up warmly and then it got hot! :-S I think it will have to be thin tops with a cardy if needed and a lightweight jacket. This break will be Cornwall and we leave Saturday......looks like it will be quite wet at the mo. I was hoping there would be wireless connectivity, but Seph has told me no, so that's a pity. At least with having your kindle you won't need space for books. :-) I hope your toes get better, you will be doing quite a bit of walking so take plenty of plasters. Sounds like you will be hearing 'The Adventures of a Cat Sitter' from Fitz tomorrow!!
Nice to hear from you Ruby, the rhubarb is cooked and in the freezer now.:-D Is Okra nice to eat? I have seen it for sale on our market, but I'm not sure what to do with it. lol. My shorts are cropped trousers nowadays unless I'm just in the garden. I have very high raised beds, almost waist height, but they are narrower than yours. Mine are a bit higgeldy piggeldy too, but as long as stuff grows ...who cares!! I've no room for pumpkins here though.
I meant to say we saw 2 hares bound across the lane in front of us yesterday, it's the first time I've ever seen any on the road. We thought they were those Muntjak deer at first, with their colour and size, but as we got closer the big ears and long legs gave them away.
How sweet the little Bluetits have eggs Fiona, the babies will be very pretty when they get their feathers........pity you haven't got a camera like Mel's so you could watch them. :-)
Well the plastic is all around the tomatoes now and I have 7 more empty plant pots for the recycling.
I hope David is doing ok with the physio and not having to hop as much!
A cuppa next I think and a bit of telly.

Back from the dreaded weekly shop but not quite unpacked yet. Oh has gone ringing so there is no rush and he will have a quiche when he gets in and I have bought some greek salad and coleslaw. Me I may have a nice boiled egg or beans on toast.
I bought some more of those nice solar lights toady. I keep them on a tray in the bedroom window and then in the hall after its dark and use them in the hall and bathroom for the night. They are great as we are pitch black if we get up in the night with no street lights about.
Fiona sounds like you have had a good clear out and more space for your own stuff.
Jane I was thinking of Fitz when I went into Bideford today. Shame I could'nt have met him as he sounds a wonderful chap.
You know I cleaned my car, well it started to rain just as I went out in it. When I came out the shop there was brilliant sunshine and as I approached the car it was filthy :-| :-| :-| :-| At least it had a polish so I may just run some water over it to remove the dirt.

Ann,I would have loved to have had the front windows done too as they are not in a brilliant state. But the ones at the back ....well some are dire. :-S :-S.The ones in James's bedroom are falling to bits (well the fittings are) but most of the seals have gone ,so it will so nice to have condensation free and CLEAN windows.Of course you must come and see them ....but they are just windows lol. James has been doing the patio with the power washer, but I had to stop him as the tap in the downstairs loo (which always drips when on ) it is the one for outside, was leaving a load of water on the floor(not just in the jug).I have towels in there now mopping up :-S..............What is it with this house and leaks ?????.
I have the suitcase out :-D so piles of clothes will start now lol.I find it more difficult to know what to pack for 3 nights than a week.I really must put my sensible head on(if I can find it ;-) ) .
I expect we will see Fitz tomorrow. He is coming back from his cat sitting job in Barnstaple today. No doubt he will have lots to say :-D

Ruby I think you joined us just after I had to have my dog Chester put to sleep :-( He was nearly 15 and had Kidney Failure. He had also had fatty lumps some of which he did have removed. He looked so funny with all patches of hair shaved he resembled a Draughts board lol. What type of dog do you have? ....There's me assuming it's a dog.It might be a cat !.Help Ruby :-D
Well my two little toes are rubbed ,even with plasters .So I bought some cushioned plasters while I was out and will give them a try tomorrow.
I just posted some presents to Dubai for Ethan who will be 2 later this month and a little outfit for Zach....Even though I am still not really in touch with Rachel I couldn't not send something for the children.Postage was £18 !!!!!! :-|
Ann I still have both email address but have found that at the moment the cloud one is better.
Off to get the towels in from the line. They should be bone dry.

Hello all,
So glad your weather is improving.
I just came in for coffee - put a hill of pumpkin seed in for the little ones to carve, and a short row of okra. I'm alone now, so just have 4 raised beds 4'x8'. I sew bits and pieces. It's really higgledy piggledy, but it suits me fine. While I was out there, I was thinking it's about time to get the shorts out. Not so short anymore though - down below the knee pants. I was remembering when I used to go up to Grandad's to help cut the bank next to the lane. It had to be done with shears. One evening I went up there (It was over two miles, uphill ) and I wore my little short shorts. Grandad didn't say anything to me, but when he saw dad, he told him that I aught not to be out wearing my shimmy. I think that was what they called a chemise. lol. I dearly loved my granddad. Granny was very deaf so it was hard work trying to talk to her. We would sit with her a while, listening to the clocks ticking, and then would go up the garden to see granddad. I wonder what they would think of the clothing styles that young women wear now?
I would love to have some rhubarb Ann - it won't grow here. Too hot. I buy frozen once in a while.
I must get back out for a while. My old Lucy is waiting for me. She is 13. I took her to the vet last week for her rabies shot. She has some fatty tissue under her belly and in her cheek, but it's nothing to worry about.
Will come back in a few days. Ruby

Afternoon All, Gave up trying to get on to the internet this morning our broadband connection was down most of the morning , OH was not happy means he could not do his e-mails for work, I went out for my usual coffee date , but when I came back in at lunch time, it was back on.
I have been sorting out wardrobes in the back bedroom which was daughter no2 room when she was living here, there is 2 built in wardrobes and both had some clothes, art materials and fabrics that belong to her, I have cleared all her stuff into one wardrobe and am using the other for my winter clothes and shoes, boots etc., also put OH cycling gear in a box.
This morning when we woke up, we heard a little tapping sound in the bedroom , it took a while to find out where it was coming from, OH got up and dressed and went outside to the back garden and could see a tiny blue tit flying in and out of a little hole near to the chimney stack, went up to the loft and could see a nest with eggs in just inside where the gutter is, we are going to leave it there till they have all flown away and OH will then block up the hole,

I'm getting feed up with this lot, Every time I start typing up comes a blank scree. Will try again and again
You should see me now, I am in shorts, with the Dyso# stripped down, as it will not pick anything up. have got the POST filter out, and washed it, but to be on the safe side, have ordered a new one. So no cleaning for a few days, or until eith the old one is dry, or the new one arrives.
Have got all my runners in position on the canes and netting, put a few extra's in to be on the safe side, and I still have 8 as spares. Nothing like being careful lol
I don't have trouble with my sandals deary !!! :-D :-D :-D
Turned out a bit better now, Ros has got the washing out, so will have to keep eys on the weather.
Had a phone call from the surgery this morning. My referral paper work is ready for me to collect. Ros has been up and got it. So no phone call from Frankie boy. Save me giving someone an earful <3 <3 <3 I will let you know when I have made the appointment, and keep you informed of progress .
I think we are going to Conrad's Sunday. So will take all the things up that Jan should have taken on Monday, I will also take my computer for a clean up.

Afternoon Everyone,
What's this lazy bones talk then Frank!! :-| :-| OH was out planting the runners at 7.00am in the rain and he woke me up so I got up too. I have picked and washed some rhubarb, been to the shops and got a couple of tops for my hols and 2 bottles of water for the journey and some hayfever tablets. My case is on the bed now and I've started filling it with underwear, tablets, toiletries etc. and I've boxed up some beads and thread to take with me. The washer is being put on next. It's fine but dull here now so I may go out and plant the feathery Acer I bought last year, plus one or two other things that need planting out..........but later on as my knees and back are a quite achey today. At least the shoulderblade pain is a lot less, but I'm taking no chances with it. I've warned OH that we may need to take 2 pots of seedlings with us as they are too small to let dry out!!! :-) Amazingly he just said we can put them behind the car seats.
I'm glad Carmel had a reasonable night William and good luck for tomorrow......a rest today is a good idea, it's surprising how going to different appointments can be quite tiring. ;-)We are definitely going back to Caulke when it is less busy and will have a look inside this time too. We might as well combine it with going to the church at Breedon as well and I can look in the craft place as well, a lady there sells some lovely vintage glass buttons! There is also a little garden centre and new arboretum at Smisby we have been to before.
I always find sandals when you first wear them each year tend to rub a bit till your feet get used to them. I wear shoes and sandals around the house first when they are new. Your house will look very smart with the new windows Jane, an instant facelift........I will have to come and see them when we next meet up . :-D
Well I'd better set to now, OH is at 2 meetings this afternoon and tonight so it's a chance to get lots done while he's out.

William good to hear that Carmel did'nt have much pain in the night. Hope everything goes well for you both tomorrow.
Frank get yourself some tonic water to drink at night, and did'nt you say you had Quinine tabs from the doc?
My son always travelled well from a baby. I used to take him to mums for work three evenings a weeks on the back seat of the car in a carry cot. It was'nt untill later he had a little car seat.
